Chapter 46: Two Big Offers

Year: X757. 27 years till Canon begins.

Cade POV:

Around a week and passed since I came back from rescuing the Justice Minster.

When I got back, I reported the success of the job to Master Makarov. Master seemed happy at my success and me coming back unharmed. He gave me a pat on the back and said that he was happy that I was able to rescue the man.

He did however look quite nervous when I said that I told a Rune Knight about my magic.

Well, in actuality, he spat out the beer he was drinking, due to me now being registered on the Magic Council.

You see, the Magic Council do not know every wizard that is a member of every guild. They actually allow the Masters of those guilds to keep their members identity private. If the council insists however, the Masters are forced to reveal the members of the guild to them.

But if a wizard is caught by the Rune Knights (normally due to destruction of property) then they are forced to put their name down for the Magic Council to take the complaint to the Master of the guild.

In my case, I was now on a very large register alongside hundreds of other wizards that had been caught by the Magic Council or Rune Knights. Whether they would choose to show up and question me remained to be see.

Over the last few days, I had been trying to push my Stone Magic further and further while training out on the hills. It was hard work, and often left me very tired for the rest of the day. I had also been further reading up on my Ice Magic to see about trying to get that any stronger with some potential new moves. Nothing had came up yet regarding that, unfortunately.

Right now, I was in the manors lounge and was reading up on Malvel's spell book, me trying to get through that 20th page. Before I could get any further in that however…

*ding dong!*

The doorbell rang.

I waited to see if Pierce and Charles would answer it, before remembering that they had gone down into Magnolia for some shopping. Mother was also in the kitchen right now, so I sent the book back into my Requip storage, moved towards the front door and opened it.

When the double doors opened, I saw a most unexpected party in front of me.

There were three figures standing there, one who I recognised.

Master Makarov was there wearing his Wizard Saint uniform. He seemed like he was feeling uncomfortable about this whole situation, as he had a look of concern and frustration on his face.

To his left was a man of average height with brown hair with some light eyebrows, and a small moustache that reaches halfway to his mouth. He wore a brown long sleeve shirt with black vertical stripes and a black three-spiked hat. Unlike Master he seemed to be quite calm and well-focused.

Next to him was a tall middle-aged man with a considerably long beard, as well as a moustache. The colour of all this hair was dark black, however I could see some white hairs beginning to reveal themselves over his hair. He had pointy ears and was currently only keeping one of his dark coloured eyes open at a time. I saw that he wore multiple layers of robes. On top of his head he wore a small bat-shaped ornament. He had a stern expression that made me feel a bit uncomfortable.

He was the first to speak up. "Boy. Are you Cadewell Philipe?" He asked, though by the the tone of his voice it seemed more like a demand if anything.

"Yes I am." I answered, a bit put off by the man's presence. "Erm, how can I help you?" I asked.

"I am from the Magic Council. I have come here to speak with you regarding important matters." He replied.

A chill went down my spine when he said that. The Magic Council actually came here?! Oh no… I had hoped that they would just overlook my Enchantment Magic. Now I'm done for!

"The Magic Council? Here?" Came the voice of mother from behind me. "Well it would be rude of us to not let you in. Why don't you come in!" She suggested happily, me still not taking my eyes off the serious individual questioning me.

"That might be for the best Org." Master Makarov said. "I've been in this house before and they have a lovely library. Perhaps we can discuss matters in there?"

"Very well." The man called Org answered dryly, not even looking down to Master Makarov.

And so, I stepped aside and let the three individuals in the room. When they entered, the average heightened man that had not spoken yet seemed to take in the detail and design of the interior of the grand hall. Org however, seemed like he just wanted to get down to business.

"Well? Take us to this library then." He rudely asked me. It seems that I was not the only one annoyed at this man's attitude. Master Makarov was clenching his fists right now, with my mother also put off.

"It's right here." I said, pointing to the library doors. I then opened the library doors and me, Org, Master Makarov and the other man walked in. Mother was about to join us in there, but Org stopped her.

"This is a private discussion between the three of us and the boy." He stated as he pointed to me.

Mother looked like she was going to protest, but Master Makarov quickly stopped her. "It's alright June." He assured her, holding up a hand and showing a face that told her not to worry.

Mother then twisted her face, before giving a fake smile. "I'll put some tea on." She said happily. Of course, I could easily tell that she would probably pour a lot of salt into Org's cup.

With that, she closed the door leaving the four of us alone in the room.

"Why don't you take a seat Org?" I gestured my hand towards the table and chairs in the room.

As Org moved to the table and chairs, I quickly bent down to whisper into Master Makarov's ear.

"Master who is that?" I whispered quickly.

"That is Org, a member of the Magic Council. Do not do anything to provoke him." Master whispered back quickly.

I wanted to ask who the other person was, but he and Org were sitting at the table and were waiting for me and Master.

"Hurry it up boy. This is important!" Org sternly said to me.

While this man was being quite rude to me and my mother considering that we did invite him into out house, I could not do anything to anger him. Master had often told me the power that the Magic Council have in the world, so I did not want to agitate the man.

I made my way to the seats and sat across from Org and the other man, with Master sitting alongside them. I was sitting by myself which made me feel like I was alone while this powerful and influential man sat across from me.

"Now to get down to business." Org stated. "The Magic Council have come to understand that you have the incredibly rare Enchantment Magic, am I correct in saying that?" Org started off.

I held up my hand and decided to demonstrate to Org, instead of only just using words. I summoned a cube of ice, before I used my Henshin spell to turn the ice into stone. "Indeed. This is me using it to turn the ice into stone."

Org seemed satisfied at that demonstration of mine. "Yes, that matches the report we got a few days ago about your magic."

'Seems they really did get the report on me. I only hope that Elena wasn't having a bad day when she wrote it…' I moaned internally.

"Now that we have confirmed that, I would like to address this with you boy." Org spoke up. "What you have is a very powerful and a very rare form of magic that can ultimately change and destroy the county whenever you wish."

I was about to speak up and say that I didn't have such spells, but Org pressed on.

"The Magic Council cannot risk allowing such a powerful force of magic to run unchecked in this country. We are already doing everything we can to deal with other matters such as the Dark Guilds which continue to run rampant." He followed on.

I swear I saw Master Makarov's eyes roll when Org said that last part.

Org continued to speak. "However. Master Makarov here has insisted that you are a model member of the guild." Org shifted his gaze to look downwards at Master, before he looked back up at me. "Exchanges I have had with other guild members do seem to confirm this, as well as the amount of jobs that you have done." Org then gave me a serious look.

"The Council see you as a young man with a bright future, so I offer you an opportunity: Leave Fairy Tail and come join us at the Magic Council." Org offered.

I was stunned to hear that. Org – no the Magic Council, wanted me to join up with them?

I saw that Master Makarov was looking especially serious when Org said that, his hands were clenching the arms of the chair he was sitting on with the veins in his knuckles showing. He must have been told about this beforehand. The other man seemed to be listening quite carefully to what was being said.

"What… would I be doing in the Magic Council?" I asked carefully. Org seemed to look pleased to see me consider this offer, though his face hardly changed in expression.

"You would be assisting one of the Council Members in matters that they need assistance with. You will still be aloud to learn Enchantment Magic under their supervision. Over time you may even find yourself with a seat alongside myself and the other council members." He laid out the terms for me.

"If you are to refuse the offer however…" Org's face suddenly got strict. "The Magic Council will be forced to relinquish the book that you have been learning Enchantment Magic from you. We simply cannot allow the magic to go unsupervised." He stated sternly.

So this was what I was being offered. If you would even call it an offer that is.

This… This is why Master Makarov hates the Magic Council so much.

For them to relinquish the way someone is using magic would seriously halt their progression as a wizard. It would mean that they cannot advance further in training their magic and would possibly be stuck in a limbo of not being able to progress.

Has the Magic Council already done this with other mages before? Was I just another person that they have to deal with to protect the country?

Funny… Despite all the good I've done trying to help people, the Magic Council seem to not care, them only focusing on what could happen no matter how small it may seem.

I was cut off by my thoughts by Org. "So, have you came to a decision? I believe you would benefit greatly from working alongside-"

"I have." I cut Org off. "I've came to a decision."

In my eyes, there was only one true answer here.

Org looked ready to hear my answer. Master Makarov looked very nervous to hear my decision. I swore that I saw the other man lean forward slightly, him clearly having paid attention to the entire conversation so far. I leaned back a bit before answering.

"Org… I refuse." I gave a small smile when I said that.

Org was stunned. "You… You what?" He said in disbelief.

Master Makaorv gave a small smile when I said that, him trying to hold his posture together. The other man also had a very slight smile, showing he too was amused by this refusal. Org however, was now quite angry.

"You refuse? This is an offer that many people like you would snatch at an instant!" He snapped, his voice rising.

It was now that I chose to ignore what Master said about aggravating Org. I think he deserved to hear what I had to say.

"You're wrong about that Org." I rebutted with a serious voice. "I know that you are wrong, because people like me would have no reason to leave what they are doing and join the Magic Council. Why you ask?" I rolled up my sleeve to show him my red Fairy Tail mark. "This. This Org is a symbol of all the friends I have made. If I joined the Magic Council, then I would be leaving them all behind. And that goes for all members of Fairy Tail as well."

"As for your offer itself, I noticed a few problems with it. First you said that you would allow me to continue learning the magic, but that it would be under the supervision of a Council Member. That would mean that I am still not fully trusted, and I'm betting that the intervals that I have to learn the magic are also quite small. Second is that I would always be away from home almost all the time. With that, I would be unable to see my family and friends."

"Org. I think you might be better asking a freelance wizard if they wanted to be a coffee boy at the Magic Council." I suggested to him, in a rather comical manner.

Org looked like he was ready to explode with anger, but he was stopped by a new voice.

"I'd like to speak up if you don't mind Org." Came the voice of the man that had been sitting quietly this whole time. "The young man here has every right to refuse your offer, so I wouldn't get too angry at him. I would like to suggest an alternative offer."

That got everyone's attention. Org even calmed down just a little, to hear the man out. "An… alternative offer Yajima?" Org said, barely keeping his composure.

"I suggest that the boy keeps this book and is still aloud to study the magic. However, I could be make some monthly trips every so often to make sure that is abiding by any laws and not causing any havoc. Plus I'm not up to much at the Council right now and it would be a good way to take some work out of the hands of the other council members." The man called Yajima suggested.

Org seemed skeptical about the offer, yet it seemed like he was considering it. Yajima then spoke out one final time.

"I can keep a record of what he gets up to at the guild. That makes it easier for us to know what he gets up to." Yajima said, sweeting the offer.

Org, while still looking very frustrated at me, did seem to realise the benefit of this offer. As such, he caved.

"I see your reasoning Yajima. Very well. You shall be tasked with making some monthly visits to this residence to meet with Cadewell and assess him. You shall also be taking notes of his activities from time to time." Org sighed, as he stood up.

"I must be heading back to the Magic Council now. I have work to do. You can stay here and get to know Cade more Yajima." Org said as he moved to leave the room and out of the manor.

When Org left, and I could hear the door close behind him, I let out a sigh of relief. "Thank goodness he's gone. You know Master, I really see where you're coming from when you say you hate the Magic Council. Erm, no offence Yajima!"

Yajima was the one to sigh now. "There's no need Cade. I do find Org's methods rather extreme from time to time."

Master Makarov spoke up next. "Thank you for that counteroffer there Yajima. I'm not sure what we would have done if you hadn't come like I asked." He thanked the man.

"Hold on, do you two know each other?" I spoke up curiously.

"Me and Macky here go way back! I used to be a member of Fairy Tale years ago and was in a team with him. We all split off to go our separate ways though, but we had fun." Yajima said, him seeming to remember the past he had.

"Whoa, you were in the team with Porlyusica?"

"Ah, you've met her have you?" Yajima chuckled. "She was quite the firecracker back when we were all together. Wonder how's she been?" Yakima trailed off in thought, before remembering what he had done earlier.

"Now then, Cade was it?" Yajima looked a bit more serious. "You listen to me carefully. You just barely survived an encounter with Org who has a seat in the Magic Council. Out of all the Council Members he despises your guild the most out of them. If you ever see him, again make sure you're careful and show him with respect. He has a high influence among the other council members." Yajima instructed.

"Hmph, I'll try." I muttered with distain at Org.

"You will." Yajima rebutted, he gave me a bit more of a serious look. "I'm not kidding when I say that I've had to persuade the other Council Members to lay off Fairy Tail due to his hatred for the guild – which if you must know, comes from all the destruction you end up causing. You think Macky has a lot of paperwork due to that? Think about what I go through."

"Right, of course Sir." I replied to Yajima.

"You can drop the Sir. We'll be getting to know each other for a good while now, so you can drop the formalities." He told me with a thin smile.

Master Makarov was next to speak. "So then, when exactly will you be coming round Yajima?"

"Hmm, I'll try to come round here every two months or so. The trips won't be that long, so all you need to do Macky is keep a note for everything Cade here does at the guild. That'll make my job a whole lot easier!" Yajima answered.

"And it will make my job harder…" Master grunted. "Well we both best head down to the guild now then. I need to fish out all the old jobs that you've done Cade for Yajima here. Plus it'd give us a reason to catch up." Master said as he stood up from his seat.

Yajima did the same. "Yes, it really has been a while."

As the two old friends moved out of the library and headed to the front door, Master stopped just before he left the manor.

He turned to look at me. "By the way Cade. I'm impressed with how you handled Org back there. Many wizards in the world would have taken that offer without a second thought. I'm glad you saw the flaws in Org's deal. Plus it would have been a shame to lose a young talented man like you to the Magic Council." Master said those last two words with distain at the end.

Master and Yajima then bid me farewell, before they closed the door and left me alone in the grand hall.

So. That was that then.

I had just barely gotten through an encounter with the Magic Council. While Org said that Yajima would be watching over me, I couldn't help but shake the idea that Org would be watching me, waiting for me to slip up.

Either way, I had to press on. We can't change the past after all. I decided to start by going to tell mother what happened.

I found her in the side room that led out into the garden. She was sitting in a chair and seemed to be in deep thought.

"Hey Mother." I entered the room.

Mother seemed happy to see me. "Cade. Has that rude man gone away yet?" She asked.

"Yep. He just left there. So did Master and the other man."

"Oh good. Rude of him to act like that when he was invited in." Mother grumbled. "You know, I was just thinking about your father there. Was wondering what he would have done in that situation with the man there."

"What do you think he would have done?"

Mother smiled. "He would have told that man to get out for acting like that when we invited him in. I'm sure he would have wasted no time with him."

"Even if he was from the Magic Council?" I wondered as I sat down.

Mother thought on that. "He would have been… more diplomatic I feel, considering the man was a council member. Anyways, what happened between you two? You're still here so that means it wasn't all that bad." Mother requested, eager for the details.

I sighed at laid back on the chair. "Long story short; the Council aren't fans of me using Enchantment Magic, they did offer me a chance to keep learning it, but I would have to leave Fairy Tail and come work for them." I gave mother the short story.

Mother leaned forward. "And?"

"I refused them." I said, easing her worries away. "You know… it felt sort of nice to refuse an offer from Org like that. Perhaps it was because he was so rude to me and you." I pondered.

"And what about the spell book? Did they confiscate it?" Mother asked with interest.

"Nope." I said as I pulled the book out of my Requip Storage to show her, me waving it in front of her, before I put it back in. "The other man that was here stepped in and saved me actually! He gave Org a counteroffer which involved him having to come here every two months or so to check up on me. He'll just see how I'm doing before taking some notes and leaving." I explained.

"Well that seems better than leaving the guild. Is the man that will be coming here nice?" Mother inquired.

"Oh yes, he seems quite nice. He is also an old friend of Master Makarov." I added at the end.

"That so?" Mother was surprised to hear that. "Well if he's an old friend of Master Makarov then I'm sure we can trust him." She spoke.

"I suppose this whole ordeal with the Magic Council could have gone a lot worse now that I think about it. They could have just told the entire Rune Knight organisation, then some journalist might have found out about my magic. Could you imagine? Everyone in Fiore would know!" I shifted in my seat at the thought.

"Let's be thankful that only a select few people know about your magic." Mother said with relief.

*ding dong!*

"Oh, that must be Pierce and Charles back. Could you go help them Cade?" Mother asked kindly.

"Alright, though I wonder why they rang the doorbell?" I said, as I left the room and headed to the front door in the grand hall.

I then opened the door and expected to see Pierce and Charles standing there, but I didn't.

Instead, I saw a young man with an average height who had long platinum blond hair that came down to his shoulders and light bluish eyes. He had no distinctive facial features, other than his glasses which sat comfortably on his nose. He wore a blue-greyish blazer that was buttoned up revealing little of his white shirt. He wore some smooth jeans that were the exact same colour as his blazer. For his footwear, he wore some white shoes.

The man saw me not too long after I opened the door and looked down at me giving me a thin smile.

"Hello there young man. Is this the Philipe Residence?" He requested kindly and calmly.

"Yes, it is." I answered for the man. Strange, I could have sworn I've seen this guy before… but where?

"Excellent." The man replied. "Might I come in then? I would like to meet the Master of the house, as I have a favour to ask of him." The man requested kindly.

'Master of the house…? Does he mean… me?'

"Uh, Master of the house? Are you talking about me?" I asked the man.

"Hey Cade, what is-" Came the voice of mother from behind me. She must have come through to see what was taking so long.

I turned and saw that mother was looking slack jawed at the man in front of me. Her mouth was wide open, and her eyes were wide with shock.

She pointed a finger at the man. "Y-You're-!" She began to say with awe.

"Huh? Who is this guy?" I asked her with interest.

"I-I can't believe it!? Christopher O'Conner. THE Christopher O'Conner is standing on my front doorstep!" My mother cried with joy.

"Christopher O'Conner?" I muttered as I turned to look back at the man. "Hey…! I've heard your name somewhere before in the past… Who exactly are you?"

Christopher chuckled at that comment. "Well, it's not every day that I meet someone who has heard of me and doesn't know who I am." He said with surprise.

"Cade! How can you not know who this man is?!" My mother demanded. "This is THE Christopher O'Conner! The author!" She said in annoyance at me not recognising his name.

"Hang on…" I then remembered the name. "N-No way! You're that Christopher O'Conner!?" I spluttered in shock.

"I am indeed." He announced as he pushed his glasses up the rim of his nose. "A pleasure to meet you."

Christopher O'Conner is perhaps one of the most famous authors in all of Fiore. I had seen his name before in Sorcerer Weekly but never his face. The man was known for being a well published author, writing and publishing his first book at the age of 19! Not that much is known about his past, so I heard that many journalists have trouble often interviewing him. Since his debut in the world, he has written and published several novels that my mother had worked her way through in the last few years.

He had made his way up to the number two spot on Sorcerer Weekly's "Top 10 Men That Aren't Wizards That You Wish You Could Date!" He had received numerous rewards and achievements throughout his life. With an excellent reputation and collection of books, he is one of the most famous and individually wealthiest people in the country.

And now this man was standing on the doorstep of our home. Whatever was he doing here?!

"It is always nice to meet a fan." He chuckled with a cheerful look. "So, about me coming in-"

"Come in! Yes of course you can come in!" My mother exclaimed with joy as pushed me aside to let the man in.

Christopher entered the manor and took a look around the place. "This is a rather nice manor you have here. Is this your family's home?"

"The building was constructed over a century ago, and our family moved into it when it was built. We have lived here ever since." My mother eagerly answered him.

"I see. Well I would love to learn more about the history of your family and yourself." Christopher said to us both. "However, I am here regarding business with you young Cadewell Philipe." He addressed me, as he looked down at me.

"Me?"

'So it was me he was looking for.'

"What do you want with me Christopher?" I curiously asked.

"I shall get straight to the point. I need your assistance with a book I am writing." He stated calmly.

"What? You need my help?" I could hardly believe this! What a day this has been…

"I am writing a book on magic to help future mages in the coming years. I plan to document many different sorts of magics that have been registered. You have one that interests me." Christopher stated.

I paused.

"Well my Ice Magic is fairly common. I can't see why you would come here to seek my help for that." I said casually, trying to not give myself away.

"I already have some powerful Ice Magic documented. I am talking about your other magic." Chris said carefully.

My gaze hardened. "I'm not sure what you are talking about." I replied with a hard to read tone.

"Ah, there is no need to worry Cade. I've known about your Enchantment Magic for the last few days now." Christopher informed me.

'What?!'

"I learned about it from a friend of mine who works in the Magic Council. They received some paperwork from a Rune Knight that had the magic listed. I asked him to listen in some more, and he came back saying that the user was a boy who was 14 years old. I learned the address and arrived here." He explained quickly.

I was left a bit stunned by this man's connections in life. I turned and saw that mother was also looking rather surprised at this.

I was not sure what to think here. In the span of a few minutes, I meet one of the most famous authors alive and he asks for my help. Then he reveals that he he knows about my secret magic!

On one hand I wanted to refuse the deal, wanting to keep the magic a secret. But on the other hand, he did seem like an honest person that just needed some help with a book.

'Hmmm…' I gave this some thought.

"What exactly is it that you need from me regarding my Enchantment Magic?" I asked suspiciously.

Christopher did not seem offended my suspicion, instead he answered for me.

"Allow me to lay out the terms for you: You shall remain anonymous in this book of mine. While I allow my informants to share their identity if they wish, I do also respect their privacy. Now, for the magic itself, I only need the information of what it can do. Any information of the spells would be appreciated as well."

"I… I am not sure Chris. This magic is rather powerful, and I said that I would try to keep it hidden as much as I could from the rest of the world. Even mentioning it in your book would reveal that someone alive has the magic." I apologised to the man.

Christopher was not bothered by my refusal of his agreement. "I understand Cadewell." He said as he held up his hands, him backing off from the deal slightly. "If you do ever change your mind then you have only to contact me. The book is not to be finished for years down the line, so you do not to worry about a deadline." He assured me.

"As for contacting me, simply-"

"Go to the back of one of your books!" My mother quickly piped up.

Christopher gave a half chuckle at that. "You really are a fan." He said with a smile afterwards. "Well I shall leave the decision to you Cadewell." Christopher said as he gave me a nod, before he turned to leave the manor.

"Hey Christopher!" I stopped the man before he left. Christopher turned to me with curiosity. "If you don't mind me asking you said that you had some powerful Ice Magic documented already right? Well… who was it that you went to?" I requested.

Christopher seemed to mull over this for a while, before he answered me. "I will not give you their full name, but their first name was Ur." He stated for me, before he smiled and exited the manor, closing the door.

'Ur huh? Is that a guy's or a girl's name?'

When the door closed, my mother practically jumped with joy. "Oh, to think we met The Christopher O'Conner! What an incredible experience!"

"Yes… you really are a fan…" I sighed at my mother's fan girling. I didn't even think it was possible to fan girl over someone at her age.

"Maybe I'll read some of Christopher's books in the future." I considered.

My mother quickly turned to look at me. "Oh, er… you may want to wait until you are a bit older until you read some of his books Cade." She said with a nervous look.

"Ok…" I spoke with confusion.

"I find it funny that you got two important deals/offers from two different people, each having lots of influence in certain areas." Mother pointed out. "And you refused them both."

"Well I didn't refuse Christopher's deal yet. I… might accept it in the future." I said, struggling to decide.

"You have plenty time so you don't have to worry." Mother assured me.

*ding dong!*

"Oh that better be Pierce and Charles." I sighed as I moved over to open the door. "I am starving."

To my delight, the two best servants that any man could ask for were standing right there in front of me with some big bags of shopping.

"Sir Philipe!" Cried Pierce. "I believe just saw the Christopher O'Conner walk past us as we were heading back to Magnolia!"

"And before that, I swore we saw Master Makarov and another man walking away from the pathway that led up to the manor." Charles added.

"Did we not see a Magic Council member just before that?" Pierce asked his friend.

"Yes I think we did, though he did not look happy…" Charles answered.

"Would you two believe me if I said all of those people came to the manor earlier in the day for me specifically?" I said to them with a sly smile on my face.

Pierce and Charles were dumbfounded by that remark of mine. The explanation of everything that happened today would have to wait, as there was shopping to be unloaded into the kitchen!

It took awhile for Pierce and Charles to unload the food into the kitchen and pantry, so as they did that I pondered over the two big offers I had been presented with today.

I did not regret refusing Org's deal.

Not only was he a jerk, but I would have been under constant supervision under a Magic Council Member. Chances are they would have just kept asking for me to fetch paperwork and coffee for them.

Even if I did become a Magic Council member and gained a seat alongside Org and Yajima, then I would have probably been bored out of my life. The idea of running a Council and making decisions that could impact the whole county and thousands of wizards did not interest me. Since joining Fairy Tail, I much preferred being out in the field. Hell, I think I would have preferred being a Rune Knight.

Then there was Christopher's offer.

I was still struggling to decide whether I should take the deal or not. I could see no actual consequences from giving away some knowledge on Enchantment Magic. I wouldn't plan on giving Christopher the spell names or the identity of Malvel.

The fact that I would remain anonymous was comforting. Perhaps I can do some asking around to see if he really is as respectful as everyone says he is, just to be safe.

I was curious about the name of the Ice Mage he dropped earlier. Ur was a rather gender-neutral name, if you asked me at least. Their age was also unknown to me, meaning the only thing I knew about them was that they had powerful Ice Magic. I was simply curious as to who gave Christopher the information on the magic.

Perhaps I would meet them one day. Still the odds are low, they could be anywhere after all.

I was interrupted by my thoughts, as I smelt some food cooking. Seems Pierce and Charles had whipped out the oven tools and started dinner early.

You know what, after everything that happened today, I think I deserve an early dinner. I decided as I moved into the kitchen.

And that is another chapter done and dusted! Leave a review on your thoughts about it.

We got to meet and hear several familiar characters in this chapter. I liked writing the talks between Macky and Yajima. I also liked writing the speech Cade gives about why Org is a horrible deal maker.

With the large chestnut of the Magic Council out of the way, Cade can now relax a bit more, yet I feel he will still be running away from encounters with the Rune Knights in the future.

Anywho, I hope you enjoyed this chapter, and I am looking forward to seeing you in the next one!
