-The Enchanter of Fairy Tail-
Chapter 72: The 10th Ranked Saint
Year: X759. 25 years till Canon begins.
Cade POV:
When I said that I would be taking a small break, I didn't expect it to branch out into a few months. I suppose I really needed this break after all.
We had now come to early autumn; my birthday was only a few weeks away so it would not be long until I turned 17 years old. Now that we were in the middle of September, many of the trees began to wither and die out, due to the coming change in temperature.
Not long after returning from my quest, I spotted in the newspaper that Christopher had been charged 35 years in the H.M.C. Also, he had been revealed as the brother to a murderer, while all his threats to the mayor of Claymore village had been made public, making his reputation crash in the general public's eye.
Justice had been served. I had been happy to see him get the sentence that he rightfully deserved.
During my break, I had still taken some jobs to make sure that we had enough money to pay for rent, but I had not taken another S-Class quest since my last one, perhaps soon I would return to the S-Class job board.
One thing that my mother had tried to drill into my brain since I wasn't working as much, was trying to get me to learn how to manage a household – by that I mean that paperwork side of things. I'd be taking over the house when I turned 20 years old after all.
I groaned whenever she told me to take another go at trying to to complete a fake tax paper. She did still help me with this, but it was a long and agonising process. I think I was getting the hand of it, but I wouldn't be managing the household anytime soon.
Thankfully, this wasn't all I did during my break. I had also tried to learn more spells that were in Malvel's spell book. My first S-Class quest showed me that I would need all the help I could get if I were to ever beat them by myself.
So what better place to learn spells than the spell book? They were powerful after all. I stuck my head down and was able to decipher two more pages.
But it was a photo that showed more of Magnolia at this time period and a diary entry. No new spells yet it seemed.

X682, April
Since my last entry, I've been busy regarding a certain type of magic. That is magic is Celestial Spirit Magic. When I was on that caravan job a few months back, the wizard that was meant to protect the caravan was a Celestial Spirit wizard. I had always heard of the magic to summon Spirits from another world to fight for you, yet I had never seen it before. The dark wizard that was accompanying me killed the Spirit that the good wizard summoned, with a beam right through the heart!
I would have thought that the Spirit was dead, but they disappeared into a bright light! I've only learned a few weeks ago that they have the ability of immortality. As long as they have a connection with the Celestial Spirit World, they will always be sent back there upon their "death" in our world. The fact that there is little research to investigate this is absurd! My interest in the stars along with this new detail have propelled me to study this subject in more detail. I'm sure I can still manage my cover here at Blue Skull well enough.
—
I found this diary page rather interesting compared to some of the other ones. Malvel did choose to study something to occupy himself with while he spent time at Blue Skull. Celestial Spirit Magic was the last thing that I expected him to study though.
Honestly, I never thought that much about the immortality that the Spirits possessed. When I learned about it I kind of just shrugged it off – mainly because I was in a fight at the time.
In fact… that's probably when most people learn about the immortality that the Celestial Spirits possess. I suppose they all just forget about it afterwards.
Whatever the case, I felt a bit better knowing that I was now officially halfway through the spell book! I had only 25 more pages to go until it was fully completed!
Anyway, in other news, I had made sure to spend some more time with my friends and girlfriend while taking my break. Me and Lilly had gone on a double date with Gildarts and Cornelia which was very fun. Things did get a bit hectic when Cornelia had a bit too much to drink that night and we all had to leave a bit early. Gildarts had to wrestle with his drunken girlfriend and try to bring her back to his house, while me and Lilly just decided to leave while we still could.
I had also made sure to take Lilly out for her birthday this year. I had taken her to a nice bakery in Magnolia that had some baked goods that she loved. We ended the day walking around the park where I first confessed to her.
In the more recent days, I had been spending some time up here at the manor to try and learn another spell from Malvel's spell book. Yet, I was occasionally distracted, and I often found myself out in the hills near our home.
This is where I was right now. Currently staring out into the many different flowers and trees that were ahead of me. My mother as well as Pierce and Charles had been inside the house doing different things.
As I was thinking to myself, I heard a voice from behind me.
"Ca-aa-aa-de!" Came the cheery sing-song voice of Lilly from behind me.
I smiled at hearing her voice, as I then felt her hug me from behind. "Oh, hey Lilly."
"What you doing out here?" She asked as she moved to stand beside me.
"Oh I was just thinking that's all." I answered, shrugging a little.
"That's boring." Lilly said with a small pout. "What were you thinking about?"
"Well… I was just thinking about something that Christopher told me. You know the guy that I beat on that S-Class quest." I spoke as I looked back to face the plants.
Lilly cringed. "Yeah I know him… I was just getting into his books and then he was revealed as a criminal and a blackmailer…" She sounded disappointed which made me roll my eyes.
"Yeah, HIM." I said with frustration, my eyes rolling at little.
"Hey! We all have celebrity crushes!" Lilly argued. "I bet you've looked through all the articles for Sorcerer Weekly to find some hot model to look at!" She challenged teasingly.
"No I don't!" I rebutted with a huff of my own. "You think I want to have the same reputation as Master Makarov does?!"
I unfortunately learned the hard way a few weeks ago why Master Makarov always bought the newest article for Sorcerer Weekly. I think that explains why Ivan occasionally avoids many of his father's drawers and daily purchase. The young man must have had the fright of his life when he found out.
"Argh, but still! I bet all the models in Sorcerer Weekly have bigger breasts than mine…" Lilly tutted with disappointment.
I cringed a little at seeing her upset. It was a weakness of mine "Gah! L-Lilly…!" I tried to think of a way to calm her down.
"Hee hee, just kidding!" She piped up as she gave my head a light knock. "I know you only have eyes on me Cade!" She giggled.
I gave a loud huff of frustration as revealed that she was just joking. "Should have seen that coming… you can be a real pest sometimes when it comes to that line of joking."
"So, anyway. Why were you thinking about Christopher? What did he say?" Lilly asked with a less joking and sarcastic manner.
"Well, he said something about there being another enchantment wizard besides me…" I spoke with a tense voice. "Its been a topic on my mind for a bit now."
"Wait another? I thought you were the only wizard with Enchantment Magic?" Lilly asked with surprise, now curious about this.
"Yeah so did I. Then Christopher suddenly reveals that he knew one the whole time…" I muttered with annoyance. "Didn't even get his name..."
"So why has that got you all moody?" Lilly wondered as she tapped a finger on her chin with thought.
I let out a sigh. "Well it's just some weird feeling that this guy might be bad news down the line. I have no idea if he's a purely kind person or not."
Lilly frowned. "You… think he'll try to fight you?"
I gave a shrug. "I don't know… My magic is super strong, but I think that this guy might be a challenge if he does come barging into my life."
Lilly smiled as she took my hands, me turning around to face her. "Well I'm confident that you can beat him if it comes to that. You're the strongest wizard that I know!" She assured me with a smile as she moved in to kiss me.
Well that definitely made me feel better.
I smiled as I broke the kiss. "Thanks Lilly. I think I needed that from you."
"The kiss or my words?" Lilly asked with a coy look.
I moved in closer to her. "Hmm... I think both." I answered as I kissed her back. Unaware that there were footsteps behind us.
"Whoa lovebirds. Hate to interrupt, but I have a message to tell you Cade." Came the voice of Gildarts from behind us.
I frowned as I broke the kiss and turned to face Gildarts. He had a smug look on his face, catching me and Lilly kissing like that.
"What is it Gildarts?" I said with annoyance, my face heating up a little.
"Heads up Cade. Master is wanting all S-Class wizards back at Fairy Tail."
That sounded important. "Wait, what?"
Gildarts quickly moved forward to grab my hand, breaking me away from Lilly. "Come on, it's important! We gotta get there now!" He yelled as he began to run down the hills with me still hanging on to him. "See ya Lilly!"
"Whoa! Ah, bye Lilly!" I cried as we sped off down the hills to Magnolia! "I'll try see you sooooooon!"
"Bye Cade!" Lilly waved, having to raise her voice as I got further and further away from her.
It took only a few minutes for me and Gildarts to arrive in Magnolia, and even less time for us to approach the Fairy Tail guild. I let go of Gildarts, as we got closer, feeling I could walk the rest of the way.
"Give me a warning next time, ok?" I said with frustration. "Would have liked to kiss Lilly goodbye..."
"Ah don't worry about it Cade!" Gildarts waved a hand at me, brushing the topic off as he began to walk to the guild with me following him.
As we got closer to the guild, I saw a very, very, rare sight.
I saw that ALL of the members of Fairy Tail were standing outside the guildhall. I counted and saw that not a single person was missing minus the S-Class wizards.
Did… Master tell everyone to clear out? What was going on?
I was about to ask Gildarts this, but he interrupted me.
"Not now. You'll find out when get in the guildhall." He hissed lowly as we kept walking.
We moved through the path and kept walking forwards into the guild. I passed many familiar faces as I moved. They all looked confused as to why this was going on. Many looked to me for answers, but I was clueless.
Eventually we entered the guild, and Gildarts closed the door behind us.
'Why did he close the doors? Is this a private S-Class thing?' I thought with weirdness as I actually looked towards the guildhalls benches.
As I expected, I saw Ivan and Quikora sitting at the benches. Ivan didn't look bothered by what was going on, but Quikora was alert and ready. Me and Gildarts took a seat near them and waited.
Right when I was about to ask what was going on here, the door to Master's office opened.
Out of it walked Master Makarov who was wearing his casual attire, but beside him were two different people.
The man on his left was a man of average height with a bald head and blue eyes. He was young, in maybe his late 20's. What interested me here was he wore a white Magic Council uniform, with gold braiding down the edges of it.
I had seen that uniform before. It was similar to my uncle's. Could this man be a part of the division that I'm thinking of?
"Hey Gildarts." I nudged Gildarts while whispering to him. "Is that man a part of-?"
"Yeah." Gildarts cut me off. "He's part of the division at the Magic Council that your uncle works at. He's one of the three people that are leading the division. Milo Brown." Gildarts whispered.
"I see!" I whispered. "But… who is the guy on the right?"
To the right of Master Makarov was a large middle-aged man who was very well built and muscular. He had dark brown hair that was gelled backwards and came down behind his ears. He wore a red leather jacket that was open to reveal his front chest. He had black trousers with a brown belt that was fashioned around it. He wore some brown boots below that. What was interesting, was that his chest had many, many scratches and scars layered on different places.
Gildarts grimaced. "That guy…"
I was about to question Gildarts more, but we were all interrupted by Master Makarov. He cleared his throat before speaking up.
"Good. The four of you are now here." He spoke as he looked to the four of us. He and the two men that were beside him, were not too far ahead of us. "I apologise for calling such a meeting so suddenly."
"Do you mind telling us what's so important that we had to be gathered here today father?" Ivan spoke, cutting his father off.
"It's obviously important considering that your Master asked all the S-Class wizards be present here in the guild, while the other lower ranked mages remain outside." Rebutted Milo with a glare.
Ivan scoffed as Milo said that, averting his gaze. Milo then raised his voice to speak again.
"You have been gathered here today to be told personally that the new division of the Magic Council known as the Dark Guild Extermination division, are currently allowing S-Class wizards across the country to be given the opportunity to come and work for us."
I was shocked to hear that, sitting upright now. Ivan just raised an eyebrow and leaned lazily back in his seat, Gildarts was curious about the idea and Quikora seemed to be interested more than the three of us.
"You mean we'd be leaving our guild." Quikora figured.
"Correct." Milo confirmed. "You would be coming to work for the D.G.E at the Magic Council. Heliot Town is the area that the Magic Council reside in, so you would be travelling a fair distance. You S-Class wizards would be given a chance to work as a Commander of your own division there. The pay starts at 150,000 jewels per month, and other benefits are included like free meals and movement around Magic Council Headquarters – though some areas will still be restricted."
"You are not the first, nor the last guild to receive this message today." Milo added. "Many have chosen to accept this offer."
I noticed that Master Makarov was standing firm, with a stern expression. It didn't seem like he disliked this sudden advertisement, but rather he was waiting on what we would say about it.
"So we would be fighting Dark Guilds is what you are saying?" Gildarts interjected. "What's the difference of doing it here in Fairy Tail compared to over there?"
"Because." The man with the red leather jacket raised his voice. "You get a lot more freedom kid. The Magic Council won't be on your ass all the time if you cause property damage."
"I think that would be more than ideal for you kids here. Your guild gets seen as the punching bag by everyone in the world for causing property damage. Wouldn't it be nice to get away from all that for once?" He said with a rude smirk.
"Hey, plenty other guilds get pulled up for that. You gonna make that speech to everyone you see today or just us?" I challenged, unhappy at this man for speaking rudely about us so casually.
The man turned his head to me and hardened his face. "Hm? The hell did you say to me kid?" He warned as he came closer to me. As he was now standing over me, I could see a cold grin on his face.
While he was looming over me right now, I had felt the need to stand up and try to size this guy up. But I still had the right to readdress myself to him. Especially with his rude mannerisms.
I had a look of annoyance and mild anger as I was about to speak back to him, but then something happened.
I began to sense a tremendous magic power being emendated from the man looming over me!
'What the hell? I've never felt magic power this high before!' I thought with my eyes going wide. This magic felt like it could topple all of Magnolia in one strike! 'I've never met someone this strong before! Not from Gildarts or anyone else that I've fought!'
This sudden thought brought upon a startling realisation onto me.
'This guy…'
'He's stronger than my father!'
The man gave a laugh as he moved back his head a little. "That's pathetic. I'm surprised that you made it to S-Class, let alone the others in here." He scoffed with a grimace.
"Daryl! Watch your tone!" Master Makarov snapped with anger. "You've been given the right to come here and work alongside the Magic Council for this project! I have personally deemed these four people strong enough for S-Class! Remember your place here."
The man, known as Daryl, rolled his eyes as he moved back next to Milo, who was also unhappy at this behavior.
Milo opened his mouth to continue. "I ask that you excuse Daryl for that behavior. But going back to what he said earlier was true about Dark Guilds. You will be given much more freedom about how you and your allies will wish to tackle them. The Magic Council will also make sure to take limited responsibility for any collateral damage."
Gildarts was no longer interested in getting that answer, as he was now glaring at Daryl with an angry look. He in question was smirking as he stared Gildarts back. I could almost see the sparks flying between those two.
Quikora broke the awkward silence. "So we would be moving to fight more serious cases of Dark Guilds you say?"
Milo nodded. "Yes. There would be more dangerous and more serious Dark Guilds that you normally not encounter on random jobs. They will be just as, if not more dangerous for you S-Class wizards."
Quikora nodded, satisfied at the answer.
"I've given a basic rundown of the offer we are presenting to you. Are there any questions?" Milo asked to us.
There was not a single reply from either of us, as all of us were either thinking about the offer more, or in Gildarts' case, glaring daggers at Daryl.
"I see." Milo said. "Well then, if you are interested in this opportunity, make your way to Heliot Town and say that you are interested in joining the D.G.E. The guards should let you in and take you to where you need to go."
Milo then turned to Master Makarov. "I'd like to make this offer to the other members of the guild outside of here if that's ok with you?"
Master gave a stern nod. "Yes. That's fine by me Milo." He muttered.
"You can do that without me." Daryl scoffed as he moved towards the door. "I've seen enough from this guild to know that it's not worth sticking around. I'm heading to Oak Town. Maybe Phantom Lord will be able to impress me." Daryl chucked as he moved towards the doors and kicked them open.
Master Makarov looked like he was about to interject again, but Milo held him back and shook his head.
With no one stopping him, Daryl moved through the crowd of wizards outside the guild and eventually disappeared from sight.
Master Makarov and Milo then moved to exit the guildhall and made way to close the doors behind them as they left.
"I'll let you four think about that offer..." Master muttered as he closed the door and left the four of us in the main hall of the guild.
As soon as the door closed, I spoke up with anger. "Someone want to tell me who the hell that guy was?"
Quikora sighed as he cusped his chin in his hands. Ivan surprisingly, was the one to answer for me.
"You didn't recognise him?" He spoke with disbelief. "That was Daryl Soul, the 10th ranked Wizard Saint." He folded his arms as he finished explaining that.
"Excuse me!? That guy is a Wizard Saint?!" I exclaimed with outrage. "How did he get the position?!"
Ivan gave a scoff as he answered. "Well, he obviously beat the previous 10th ranked Wizard Saint. How else would he get the position?" He leered, causing me to scoff.
"Yeah I knew that." I rebutted with anger. "But how does a guy with that attitude get presented with the title?"
"Wizard Saints don't need a wholly good reputation to get the position." Gildarts cut in. "All they need is a record of no crimes and the strength to defeat a Wizard Saint. I think someone from the Magic Council has to supervise the match though. Then the Magic Council Chairman grants them the position."
"He used to be a rather famous boxer back when he wasn't a Wizard Saint. He had it all; fame and power." Ivan added. "He was able to defeat the previous 10th ranked Saint last year and gained the position. I believe that Kalmar ranks higher than him… then it's Arclight above him."
"He was a boxer?" I was a bit surprised by that. Then again, his arms and well built posture was nothing to ignore.
"But Master Makarov is still stronger right?" I asked with interest.
"Of course!" Ivan snapped. "Father is the 7th ranked Wizard Saint. That is what he meant by saying that Daryl should remember his place." Ivan said with some smugness at the matter.
"Why'd they ask him to supervise this whole thing? He's just gonna put people off from joining it." Gildarts wondered with frustration.
"Wizard Saints are tasked with supervising areas all over Ishigar. It's hard enough to ask one of them to assist with a matter when they are halfway across the continent." Ivan answered. "Father's never really needed to go across country to resolve matters."
I nodded with that answer and so did Gildarts.
There was a moment of silence before I spoke up. "No one is actually taking that offer right?" I asked with skepticism.
Gildarts let out a laugh. "Ha! As if! This place is my home, I ain't going anywhere!" He chuckled.
Ivan scoffed. "It was a foolish idea in the first place. How many people do they think that they can recruit? It is simply better to remain here in Fairy Tail. Not to mention I am soon to be the next Guild Master."
'Sure buddy…' I thought with some amusement.
"Well I'm not. I've got everything I need here!" I answered with a smile. "Hey what about you Quikora?"
I had nearly forgotten that the illusion wizard was here. The three of us turned to look at him to see what he would say. Quikora was thinking this over, with his chin still in his hands.
"Hey, Quikora?" Gildarts asked.
Quikora snapped his head up with shock, being cut off from whatever daydream he was in. "Huh?" He said with surprise. "Oh, right. Well I-"
Quikora was cut off from whatever he was going to say by the guild's door opening and dozens of Fairy Tail members pouring into the guildhall.
They were all arguing with each other about the deal that was offered to them. Some seemed interested by it, while others seemed skeptical. I heard many people also flat out refuse the offer entirely.
I ended up losing sight of Quikora in the sea of guild members. Ivan had also disappeared somewhere. Gildarts was still next to me however.
"Hey Cade? I'm heading to the bathhouse just nearby to relax a little. You want to come?" Gildarts offered. "I need to relax for a bit…"
Offers like this didn't come around that much, given how much Gildarts enjoys going on quests all the time. Also the fact that he spends a lot of that remaining time with Cornelia.
I gave a light shrug. "Eh sure. Think we could walk it this time?" I said with a grimace at the reminder of how things went on the way to the guild hall.
"Haha! Sure, sure. As long as we get there before the place closes." Gildarts said as he moved to exit the guildhall, with me following him.
After that annoying encounter with Daryl there, I was looking forward to a nice relaxing time at the bathhouse here.
"I always forget how good this feels…" I gave a sigh of pleasure as I sank a little deeper into the waters.
"I know. I think it's better to come here from time to time instead of daily. Makes it that more comforting and relaxing." Gildarts acknowledged.
The bathhouse that we were in was a indoor area with a large amount of water to sink into. The walls and floor were marble, and the roof was wooden. There was a lot of steam in the room, so me and Gildarts could barely see each other. We were also the only people in here which was also nice.
"It's good to come here after what happened today." I said with a frown.
"Hey, don't worry about that Daryl guy. You'll probably never see him again." Gildarts scoffed as he said the name. "Can't believe someone like him got the position of Wizard Saint… I hear the others are better."
"Well I doubt he'd come back here, so I'd just try to forget about him." I suggested.
Gildarts nodded. "Say, do you think anyone in the guild will take the offer to go and join the D.G.E?" He asked me with interest.
"Don't think so. Lots of people seemed uninterested in the idea." I shrugged as I replied.
Gildarts gave a hum as he looked deep into the water that he was in. "I had a feeling that maybe Quikora would take the offer."
"What? Why?" I was surprised to hear that.
"Something he told me a few weeks ago. He asked me what I thought the next step as a wizard in a guild is. Beyond S-Class I mean." Gildarts started.
"Well, I guess it would be Guild Master, but not everyone is interested in that. I don't think I am."
"Me too. Anyway, he then went onto say that he was wondering how he could help more people that aren't able to put out job requests." Gildarts said. "So that might be why he was thinking about the opportunity with that much interest."
"Didn't think he was interested in that." I said with a murmur.
There was a moment of silence between me and Gildarts before he spoke up to me again. "There was one other thing I was wondering. Did you ever meet that other enchantment wizard you told me about?"
"The guy that Christopher told me about? No he hasn't shown up yet." I said as I shifted myself in the water a little.
"Well maybe he didn't care enough to come all the way here and see you." Gildarts suggested as he turned back to look at me.
"Well it might be for the best. I feel like I have enough going on in my life already." I said as I relaxed in the waters some more.
*thump*
There was a thumbing sound from outside the room we were in. I think it came from the door?
"Hm? You hear that?" I questioned as I looked to Gildarts.
"Yeah, some weird thumping sound." Gildarts said with confusion.
*thump*
"There it is again! What is that?" I wondered as I looked forwards to the door now.
I swore I could hear a voice from the other side of the door. It sounded like the old man that runs the place. He seemed to sound angry and was yelling at someone.
Just then the door to the changing room crashed open! Me and Gildarts turned to the door with a look of shock and confusion as to what was going on here.
The old man came hurrying out of the door. "I'm sorry you two! I just have a difficult customer here." He said with anger as he turned to his left.
Coming from the left of the man, walking into the room we were all in, was a boy about my age. He had a smooth face and had some brown eyes. From what I saw about his body, he was rather well-built. His hair style was a bit like mine; messy but also smooth and sleek. Unlike mine however, his hair was a light silver colour.
Oh, and he wasn't wearing any clothes. None at all.
Thankfully the very large amount of steam in the room meant that I could only really see his face. Would have been awkward if there wasn't as much steam…
Currently he had a curious look as he looked at me and Gildarts carefully. The old man running the place had a furious look on his face.
"What did I tell you?! You haven't paid for this! Get out now or else I'm calling the Rune Knights about this!" He cried.
The boy looked at me again, him eyeing my face carefully. I was a bit weirded out by this, but I didn't let my face show that. After a few seconds of this, he grinned.
The boy then pulled out some money from thin air. His Requip storage, I assumed.
"This is double what the customers would normally pay to come in here." He practically shoved the money in the old man's hands. "I'll only be ten minutes in here. Just give me and these guys a few minutes of peace."
The old man was flabbergasted by this. He took the money slowly from the boy. "Oh! Well… if you're paying double…" He seemed to argue with this in his head, before he nodded and exited the room, closing the door behind him.
Now the three of us were alone.
"So who are you?" Gildarts questioned with a bit of annoyance, yet I could make out interest in his words as well. "We were having a nice relaxing time in here until you came barging in here."
"I've got no business with you." The boy nodded towards Gildarts. "You're not the reason why I came here."
The boy turned to me. "It's you I'm after, Cadewell Philipe."
'Great… who's THIS guy supposed to be?' I thought with an internal sigh.
While I wasn't entirely in the mood to be dealing with this after what had happened earlier today, I just decided to try and get it over with.
"What do you want with me?" I questioned as I looked up at the boy.
He smiled upon me confirming that. "Cadewell Philipe. Aged 16, turning 17 in just a few weeks. Member of the Fairy Tail guild, has been for six years now. And how could I forget… His main magic is Enchantment Magic."
I was shocked to hear him say all that. My eyes narrowed. "How do you know all that?"
The boy smirked as he pulled out a newspaper from his Requip storage. On the front cover of the paper, was an image of me standing with the mayor of Claymore Village. The image looked like it was taken a good distance away. The article itself mentioned everything that the boy just said there.
Me and Gildarts were shocked to read that there. The boy smirked as he put away his newspaper back into his Requip storage.
"Some nosy journalist got some information about you. No idea where, how, or who it was. But they can be a real nuisance when you go on jobs. Just be glad he didn't figure out where you lived." The boy shrugged as he walked around on the marble a bit.
"So you're the one that beat Christopher. That guy was apparently rotten behind his celebrity status. I won't deny that I fell for it when he came to me. Still, I found him to be annoying, even back then." The boy said as he stoped moving and looked back at me.
"You still haven't answered Gildarts question. Who are you?" I demanded.
The boy smiled as he opened his mouth to speak. "The names Tyson Vasco. I'm an S-Class level wizard who runs independently in this world. And my main magic is Enchantment Magic." He introduced himself with a proud smirk.
'Wonderful… This is the guy that Christopher told me about. He looks about as unfriendly as I thought he would be. I'm getting reminded of when I met Daryl earlier. Ugh… please tell me he came here for introductions only…' I thought with a sigh after thinking that.
"So what's your business with me Tyson?" I asked with curiosity, hoping we didn't have to fight right here right now.
"When I seen you in the newspaper a few weeks ago, I was surprised to find that someone else had Enchantment Magic just like me. I was happy that I wasn't the only one, and was about to drop the newspaper and go on with my day… but then I saw something that got me a bit… angry." Tyson explained as his gaze hardened.
"I saw that your alias is 'Enchanter'. Well guess what? That's MY alias as well." He said as he gave me a glare.
'Oh… I guess that would make someone a bit angry.'
"Well no offence, but I didn't know that you existed until just now, so I didn't intentionally copy you." I explained, hoping to defuse any aggression he may have.
"Lots of wizards out there have the same magic and alias. It's never that big of a deal." Gildarts added.
Tyson gave both of us a look. "Well maybe not for them… but I'm kind of prideful about my title." He shot me a cold look.
"Well that's too bad. I don't have any plans to change mine." I said as I narrowed my eyes at Tyson.
"Funny, I'm thinking the exact same thing where I am." Tyson added as now he narrowed his eyes at me.
We both stared each other down, waiting for the other to break eye contact. It might have just been me, but I could feel the water temperature rising as we locked eyes with each other.
Right when Tyson was about to speak up, the door slammed open and the old man came back into the room.
"That's time up! I've let you in here for more than enough time! I have people outside waiting to come in here!" He shouted at Tyson.
Tyson just gave me a glare, as he turned to the man and bowed his head a little. "Fine. I was just about to leave anyway." He said as he turned away from me.
"I'll be seeing you, Cadewell Philipe."
Tyson grinned as he left the bathroom and moved into the changing room.
'Tyson… Just how long will it be before I see you again?' I thought with wonder as he left.
"Well that was intense." Gildarts spoke. "Though it's good that a fight didn't break out in here." He added.
"Wouldn't have wanted to fight him while we were both naked…" I said dryly.
I noticed that the old man was still here. "Is there a problem?"
"Yes!" He yelled. "You've used up your time in here as well! It's time for you to get out!"
"What?!" Gildarts shouted. "I thought we still had five minutes left!"
"That was before Tyson came in here…" I muttered. "He wasted our last few minutes in here."
"I don't care!" The man screamed. "Get out!"
Me and Gildarts then quickly moved to exit the baths waters, while also getting changed as fast as we could. Eventually we scrambled out of the building, with an angry crowd watching us as we did.
We both decided to move away from that area, to avoid the angry starters that we were receiving. After a few minutes of walking, we both came to Kardia Cathedral.
"I've got be heading back home now. What are your plans over the next few days Gildarts?" I quizzed as I turned to him.
"I'm probably just going to hang back here in Magnolia for a while and relax a little. I might take a job next week." He casually said.
"Well chances are I'll see you around in Magnolia then. Take care Gildarts!" I waved to the man as I began to walk away.
"Hey, Cade." Gildarts interrupted. I stopped walking and turned around to face him.
"Just watch out for that Tyson guy, alright? I was sensing a pretty impressive amount of magic from him." Gildarts warned me.
I gave Gildarts a nod. "Don't worry, if he comes asking for a fight, I'll handle him." I said with confidence.
Gildarts gave a grin. "Good to hear. I'm sure if the both of you do fight, you can take him easily!" He assured me.
"Alright then, see you later Gildarts!" I shouted as I turned away from him and began to walk back to the manor.
'Tyson… He seemed eager to prove that he was stronger than me. Yet, I didn't sense an outright evil aura from him…'
'Does he just want to prove he's stronger than me? If that's the case…'
I smirked as I clenched my fist. 'I'll give him the fight that he wants.'
No POV, June Philipe:
June gave a low hum as she finished writing the last few words on her letter. She hoped that Pierce or Charle could send it away by the end of today if the post office was still open.
When she finished writing the letter, she took one last read over it to make sure it was ok.

Lyra.
I hope you've been well. I know how bad it is to have such a terrible illness come over you so suddenly. I take it that we are still ok to come over to your home for Layla's 11th birthday early next year? I'm sure that Cade would come, he might even bring his girlfriend over with him! She is a such a lovely girl, I'm sure you would love to meet her! Quite a few things have happened here since I've last seen you, it'd be a hassle to write it all to you, so I'm hoping that we can come and see you soon!

June gave a smile as she put the letter into an envelope and sealed it up. Hopefully the letter would be sent away ok.
And who knows? Maybe it would be ok for her, Cade and maybe even Lilly to go and spend some time over with Layla.
Ah, but that was months away, she had to start preparing for other things this year! She looked and saw Cade coming up the hills from her window ahead of her.
She was interested to hear about Cade's day so far. She was sure he had a good one.
Well, I wouldn't say that was a good day for Cade June… anyway, that's one more chapter done and completed! Feel free to leave a review if you wish to do so.
I was originally meant to split this chapter up into two, but I was honestly too eager to move onto the next chapter and the next small arc. The letter at the end there hints to what it is.
Due to me deciding against the splitting up of the chapter, we were introduced to some new characters. Daryl is a real menace that I liked writing about, and Tyson is a boy eager to prove where he stands compared to Cade.
Now then, that's all I had to say here, hope you all have a great day, and I'll see you next week!
