Chapter 18: There's always Hope.

Here's Chapter 18!

ProfessorYeti: Thank you again for the review! Honestly, it means the world to me that people are actually enjoying this haha 3 And good luck with your next semester!!

And if it helps with chapter uploads? I always aim to post between the 1st and the 8th of the month! Unless I get another chapter done before then, then I'll upload earlier!

And thank you for pointing out some of the words and sentences! I really try to add some powerful descriptions and moments into this fic! So it was nice that you commented on it 3 And of course the title being used in the story! I love when writers pull bits out like that to make impactful scenes hit harder!

As for Miwa, I really wanted her to have that punk rock older big sister vibe! She's trying to be cool and slick, but deep down, her brothers will always come first! 3 (No matter what...)

Now, as for your questions haha:

With the Metalhead thing, it's ok, we all remember some scenes differently haha!

And Yes! I plan and write ahead with all my chapters, (Right now, I'm currently writing up and proof reading the 'The good, The bad, And Casey Jones ep! but I've got the 'script' per say, and notes down for episodes up to the Fourfold Trap! Though so episodes I have already written down, because I couldn't wait!!) Which is why I'm always surprised when you guess stuff that will happen, or predict stuff that is within an upcoming chapter! :0 It's sort of fun lol, seeing what you'll guess, before its published and if your right!

As for the two mentioned topics of Donnie's Disorder and Association with the Hamato clan. Both of those topics will appear in this season actually, XD (With the disorder one actually being a big theme this chapter!)

And yes...Tales of the Yokai foreshadowing has happened...but will it turn out how you expect? :)

With Tigerclaw replacing Karai, I thought about just leaving Saki alone in the final fight. but rewatching the episode, I realized that Splinter was actually about to killing that motherf*! xD So I had to do something, or else the story would of ended at S1

And yes! we love Raph secretly being jealous, and wanting to be the badass in black :'3 And Yes. Mikey is baby! 3 Hehe, I just love him so much! he's like the friend everyone wants in life!!

Race with the demon...LOTS of angst for our boy! and the vengeance is mine, Oof... people my hate me for hurting this family so much!!

And Timothy? Well, I guess you'll have to wait 2 more chapters for that one!

Once again! Thank you for the review!! I love reading them so much! there such a highlight to my day!! and I'll see you in the next chapter haha!

This is based on the 2k12 series.

WARNING: 'Dyslexic Writer lol'.

Chapter 18

Hidden in the mountainous region of Japan, just a few miles from the town of Osaka, was a small fishing village, buried deep within the forest.

The small village had only a few hundred residents there, all making their living of the ground and lakes that surrounded them.

The local kindergarten bell rang out, accompanied by the screams and yells of excited children running out of the courtyard and back to their homes for the evening.

All except one enthusiastic five year old stood by the school's green gates, bouncing up and down on his heels, as he waited for his mother. His long floppy hair kept flying around as the child became more impatient, holding onto the little wooden boat in his hands with a death grip to keep it from falling.

Most parents picked their children up from outside the gates, and greeted them with open arms. But this particular child's Mother, was a teacher.

The doors to the back of the school opened, and out came a few of the teachers. All talking amongst themselves about the day, and what they would do later on.

A few of the women bowed goodbye to one of their fellow teachers, as the beautiful women with amber eyes began walking away from the group with a few books in her hand.

The lady glanced up to see the little boy by the gate giving her a wide gap-toothed smile, waving maniacally, whilst also struggling to hold onto the little boat in his arms.

The woman chuckled at her son's antics, and gave him a gentle wave back as she made her way over to him.

The little boy laughed and jumped up and down once more as he ran towards her, presenting the boat within his arms as he went. "Hahaoya! 'Mother!'"

"Donnie? You ok?"

"Huh?" The brunet blinked suddenly as the voice infront of him made him jump. He glanced over to April, who wore a worried look on her face and waved in the air. "Oh yeah, I'm good."

April, however, wasn't convinced in the slightest. She didn't need her strange intuition to know that that was a plain lie. "You sure? As you sorta drifted off for a second there?"

"Yeah, I was just...thinking?" Donnie muttered as he poked at now cold food on his plate.

"That all your going to eat?" April asked with a smirk, "You know Mikey will be on you if you don't stick to-"

"The chart." Donnie finished with annoyance, "Yes I know, I'm just- very distracted I guess..."

"Donnie, maybe staying up two days in a row isn't good for you?" She joked with a pointed look.

With a defeated sigh, Donnie smirked at April, flashing her a knowing look. "I know, your right."

"Um, of course I'm right!" April snarked sarcastically, "I'm always right when it comes to you-"

Her phone went off at that second, with multiple bleeps. She reached into her bag and pulled out a shell-shaped phone, with yellow details. She was silent for a moment as she read, until she sighed wearily, "Ugh..."

Donnie raised a brow, but knew the cause of April's reaction already. "Your father again?"

"Yeah...you know how he is nowadays." The redhead confirmed with a little sadness in her voice.

"You would of thought being with a ninja would make him feel better about you going out in the day?" Donnie remarked in thought. To which the redhead shook her head.

"You know his Kraang nightmares are getting worse." She told him, grabbing her bag from the floor beside her. "But I should probably head back before it gets too dark anyway."

With that as their sign to leave, Donnie got up, and went to the other side of the table, leaving a tip for the waiter, as well as taking April's other bags. "Alright, would you like me to walk you home?" He asked with a cheeky grin.

"That'd be nice, D." April smiled affectionately back, and linked arms with the taller boy. "That, and I think you'll need my help bring home Mikey's dinner request?"

Donnie's grin soon dropped as he remembered. "Oh...I forget about that."

"It was part of the deal." April reminded him smugly, "If I was allowed to take you out, we had to bring some pizzas back for Mikey."

"Jelly bean, jalapeno and marshmallows..." Donnie recalled with a shiver down his spine. "The chef always gives us the weirdest looks..."

"It's New York, Donnie. Everyone is weird here." April sniggered, "Plus, he's the weirdo that put that stuff on the menu."

The brunet smirked, and held the door open for April as the two left their Café date to head over to Antonio's Pizza.

Donnie, or more formally named Donatello, had been an official member of the Hamato's family for 3 months now. And they were the most crazy and fun filled months he had had in long awhile...

After a good five minutes of guessing his name, Mikey had eventually figured out that his name was in fact, the one he had been calling him this entire time. And yet, it was Mikey that ended up wanting to change it, as it 'Didn't have the same ring to it' as the other brothers.

That was when Splinter brought out a book, an old renaissance artist book to be accurate, which was the source of the turtle's names almost 16 years ago. Apparently, Miwa had picked them out herself, but mainly just from the pictures, as she was only a year old at the time.

So when the four siblings found the page about Donato di Niccolò di Betto Bardi, a well known renaissance artist back in the 1400's. They felt that his other, much well known name, Donatello, would be the perfect fit into their family.

And so, Donatello came to be, along with his new identity and start in life with his family.

In those quickly passing three months, Donnie had hit a growth spurt, taking over Raphael's place as the third tallest by a few inches, something the red-clad turtle wasn't too pleased about. And now, even Leonardo began to internally panic that he was going to be overthrown next.

The Hamatos had celebrated Christmas, aswell as New years together, and it was eventful to say the least...

April had managed to drag her father into the sewers so that they could celebrate the holidays together, and for the most part, the middle-aged man partook in the day very well. That was, so long as any topics of Aliens was kept off the table.

The teens all gave each other gifts and presents, meaningful to each other in ways only a family would understand. Which made Donnie feel a little insecure, considering he hadn't been in the family all that long...

But...In the few months he had been with the Hamatos just after his incident with Tigerclaw, he noticed just how frustrating it was to communicate with any of the others with just his two phones.

So on Christmas day, Donnie presented everyone with their very own phones. Designed in the shape of a turtle shell, while also having small details such as colours to indicate individuality. Blue for Leo, Red for Raph, Orange for Mikey, Turquoise for Miwa, and Yellow for April.

He even managed to find and restore an old phone he and Mikey found on one of their junkyard trips for Splinter. It was a simple button phone, as to not confuse the poor man any further with technology. (a good five hours of Donnie's life, was officially wasted on trying to teach Splinter how to use a laptop...) But this phone, also happened to be the shape and colour of a circular cut of cheese. Which was something Splinter did have quite a laugh at.

To say the phones were a hit, would be a big understatement.

But every up had it's downs...as the dreaded Christmas dinner came around...

To say the least, the Hamatos were concerned when Donnie barley touched his food. And once Mikey worded his worry, the rest of the family all soon came to a sudden realization, that apart from the occasional oat meal in the morning, a slice of pizza here and there, and a cup of coffee after most activities, Donnie never seemed to eat anything.

But as the table grew quiet, awaiting Donnie's answer, Splinter spoke up...and blamed himself.

This caused the table to freeze. As the Rat Master scolded himself for not taking proper care of his new son, and leaving him to have such an unhealthy diet.

Donatello liked his privacy, and he preferred to keep his problems to himself, as to not become a burden to those around him. But hearing his new Sensei berate himself on being a bad father to him was enough to force the truth out.

He explained his health problem in a very medical way, to make sure they were well informed on the matter. (Though later in the evening, Donnie would tell Mikey the more emotional side of his disorder alone.) And even Mr O'Neil, a professional psychologist, gave them all the mental and physical explanation to his problems. And some solutions...

And so, the chart was introduced... a three meal a day, weekly chart that insured Donnie would eat daily, and if he were to miss a meal, he would need to have an excellent reasoning for it, or else, he would face losing time in his lab. Which to the other siblings didn't seem like much of a punishment. But to the young genius, this was the worst punishment his family could of set.

Mikey and Leo ended up being the most problematic when it came to the chart. Having Mikey literally drag him out of bed at seven in the morning for breakfast was annoying, but so was Leo barging in on his work in the lab at lunch or dinner, where he then stayed in said lab until the plate placed down in front of him was cleared.

But, all and all, they were the best holidays he'd had in an extremely long time, and even if he couldn't admit it out loud, the Hamatos helping him out mentally as well as physically was one of the best things that had happened to him within the last ten years.

The Hamatos truly were the family he'd been looking for. And he wouldn't change a single thing about them.

They were his family.

And they were perfect.

Machinery began whirring to life in the quiet throne room of the Foot headquarters.

As the Shredder took his seat upon his throne, placing the Foot's Kabuto on his head, while his second in command, Tigerclaw, started activating a lone Kraang head on a pillar.

The bots eyes began to glow pink, and soon cast a hologram of a Kraang brains face infront of the now sneering Shredder.

The brain wore a smug face as it spoke. "Greetings, one who is called Shredder." It announced formally.

Without wasting any time, the Shredder got straight to the point of this meeting. "Do you have my shipment?"

"The shipment that is secret will soon be transported to the one called Shredder." The alien confirmed.

The Shredder stood, and stared down at the hologram. "And how will you deal with any, complications?"

"Kraang complicates the complication with..." the brain like blob moves out of the way, as a giant gorilla like foot slams down in it's place. "Greater complications."

TMNT TMNT TMNT TMNT TMNT TMNT

Miwa picked up her book on unsolved crimes and murders with a contented sigh. She slipped her headphones on, and relaxed into her spot on the couch in the pit. Just as her younger brothers began to ensue in their madness around her.

"Whah! Ninja dodge ball! Whoo!" Michelangelo cheered as he leapt up over the Kraang orb being launched towards him, causing the ball to hit the pinball machine instead with a battered clank noise.

"Hah! Missed me again, Leo!" The youngest turtle teased as he chucked the orb back at his blue-clad brother.

"Eat this!" Leonardo grunted, and kicked the ball away as it got closer, sending it spinning towards Raphael.

The red-clad turtle flipped into the air and grasped the orb with a cocky smile, "Hah, Stick it in your shell!" He snarked and catapulted the ball back towards Leo, only to completely miss and hit the tyre swing instead, where the orb doubled back towards the pinball, and flew straight into the dojo.

Master Splinter was busy meditating when said orb came flying towards him, and without so much as flicking his ears, the mutant rat knocked the incoming orb with his staff back out of the dojo, where it headed straight for the turnstiles.

Which just so happened to be the exact moment Donnie and April came through said turnstiles with Mikey's eight pizzas.

The two teens let out shocked yelps as they had to shield themselves from the airborne orb, as it smashed into Donnie's pizza boxes.

"Ittai nani? 'What the heck?'" Donnie snapped as the orb went on to bounce around his entire lab, where it knocked the deactivated Metalhead into an awake state, before flying back out again. Leaving said robot to glare towards the doorway of the lab, making a ticked off bleeping sound.

"Ha, you're out, Leo!" Raph cheered as the leader's face turned sour.

"It doesn't count on a bounce!" He snapped back, only to then get smacked down by the orb from the back of his head, as Metalhead stood victorious over his defeated foe.

Raph and Mikey let off an uproar of laughter at Leo's defeat, as the orb propelled itself around the living area over and over again.

"What are you guys doing!?" Donnie accused as he glowered at the scene before him.

The turtle bot pointed towards Mikey in blame before making a hasty retreat back to the lab for his own safety.

"Playing dodge ball, fool." Mikey stated it as if it were obvious, before doubling over in pain as the orb rounded back, and smacked him straight in his plastron.

"With the Kraang communication orb?" The brunet stressed, catching it with his hand before it could hit either him or April. "This is a rare and fragile piece of alien tech! You guys can't just-"

"Eh, don't get your undies in a tangle, Donnie." Raph waved off casually, while attempting to rest his elbow on Donnie's shoulder. Only to scowl as he missed because of the teens few added inches. "The Kraang are toast!" He yelled back, crossing his arms.

Mikey then wrapped his arms around Donnie, and poked him in the cheeks. "Yeah, lighten up, dude. This is a party! Wow!"

"My Children." Splinter called from the side of the room, just making his entrance from the dojo. "I know you are still joyously reveling In the defeat of our enemies, but a great question remains."

Mikey threw himself beside his sister with a smug smile, "What if cupcakes could talk?" Miwa slapped her forehead.

The rat Master stared for a moment, before straighten up. "Are our enemies truly defeated?" He filled in for his most oblivious child. "The Shredder is a crafty and patient foe who bides his time."

"But Sensei, you said Shredder lost whatever sense of honor he had left." Leo reminded his master. "We'd never see him again?"

"You truly believe that, Leonardo?" Donnie stated rhetorically, "He's probably planning something as we speak! Saki isn't a man of honor, losing such a thing won't deter him for long."

"Don's got a point." Miwa nodded towards her younger brother, whole keeping her eyes on her book. "We know the Shredder won't truly be gone, especially after just one losing fight."

Raph scoffed at the human teens, "Yeah, well if he shows up, we got it all taken care of." He then walks past his Sensei, followed by his other turtle brothers also leaving the pit. Whilst Miwa stayed behind, shaking her head in disbelief, as April and Donnie sighed.

But Splinter on the other hand, wasn't going to let them go that easily. "Tomaru! 'Stop!'" He yelled, and slammed his jade cane onto the floor. And at his word, all of the teens halted and turned their attention to him. "You three have become lazy, overconfident. You shirk your training. This party ends, Now!" With one final slam of his cane against the floor, the three turtles, as well as April, Miwa and Donnie all straightened up and bowed. Allowing the father of five to leave with some peace in mind.

Mikey frowned once his master had fully exited the room, and glanced over to his siblings. "Well that was kinda harsh..."

"But true." Miwa added pointedly.

At that, Leo nodded in agreement, "Maybe Master Splinter's right. Maybe we are getting too cocky-"

"Ha!" Raphael interrupted with a laugh, "It's not cockiness when ya got the skills to kick massive..." The red-clad turtles words faded as the white orb in Donnie's hands started to dance with pink dots. "Whoa..."

The teens all gathered round as Donnie held the device with raising concern.

"That thing's working again?" April asked in shock.

"It's been quiet for weeks!" Donnie confirmed cautiously. "It must have received an incoming signal... Which can mean only one thing..."

Mikey gasped, "Cupcakes can talk!" And then got slapped round the back of the head.

"No, you moron." Miwa snapped as her brother rubbed his aching head. "The Kraang are back."

Mikey pouted at his sister's words, and watched the dots dance along the orb with sad eyes. "I guess the party really is over..."

TMNT TMNT TMNT TMNT TMNT TMNT

Now in the lab, Miwa, Leo, Raph, Mikey and April all gathered together as Donnie began the hard work of hacking into the orb.

And after a few minutes, just as Donnie was getting close to being done, he glanced back at his audience and said, "The encryption's tough to crack, but it seems like the Kraang are transporting some kind of cargo?" He paused to type a bit more at the computer in hopes of getting a clearer picture. "Using a Stealth Ship!" He said in surprise as he found the diagram of the ship.

Leo looked at his team with a serious face. "We've gotta find out what that cargo is." To which the others nodded back.

"We gonna use the radar things again?" Miwa asked as she remembered the last time they had to track down a stealth ship.

Donnie nodded and reached into the drawer beneath his laptop. "Yep, using this," he held up a device, which suspiciously looked a lot like an old gameboy. "I've aligned it to the radar dishes we placed throughout the city last time. It'll create a triangulating pulse-

"English! Professor brainioff." Raph snapped impatiently, whilst pinching his nose .

Donnie narrowed his eyes at the interruption, and proceeded to then talk as slowly as possible. Like how you would talk to a three year old. "It will detect the kraang spaceship!" He even added a little gesture with his hand to symbolise the ship flying around.

And with humiliating Raph out of the way, Donnie then turned to April with his device. "April, could you stake out a rooftop and feed us the ship's coordinates?" he asked, handing her the tracker.

"Me?" April questioned as she looked it over in disbelief. "B-but I don't know anything about radar?"

"What about your Dad?" Leo queried, remembering Kirby's experience with the scientific field.

April frowned at the thought. "My Dad? He barely lets me out of the house anymore. He's never gonna go for this."

Donnie threw his his hands together in a pleading gesture and used his best puppy dog eyes. "Please, April. Your dad's a scientist. We really need his help!"

April wore a look of reluctance, but ultimately, she agreed. And with one final look to the Hamatos, she left the lab and made her way home.

The hothead of the group crossed his arms in thought. "The bigger question is, how do we stop that ship?" He questioned aloud, "We'll need something fast to catch it."

A devilish smirk from Donnie was all that was needed to set Mikey's face lighting up like a Christmas tree.

"Oh! Ohh! Donnie!!" The freckled mutant began to realise they were on the same page, "The thing?!" By now, Mikey was literally bouncing with anticipation.

"The thing!" Donnie confirmed, covering his ears as Mikey screamed his way out of the garage lab doors.

"The thing?" Miwa questioned reluctantly.

TMNT TMNT TMNT TMNT TMNT TMNT

Donnie and Mikey stood proudly alongside the subway tracks, where a strange long vehicle was parked. With the front of it being a rundown rollercoaster cart, with five seats all aligned one behind the other, making it rather slim then large and bulky. And a giant engine attached to the back for steam power.

"We call it The T-Rawket!" Donnie announced as he strapped his helmet on. Before throwing over helmets to the others.

"You want us to fly in that?" Raph asked in judgemental way, "Where are we going, Jupiter?"

"Jupiter! But that place is infested with space yeast!" Mikey cried as he held his hands up in alarm.

Their T-phones all beeped, signaling that the stealth ship was currently flying over one of their radars, and towards April's apartment.

Leo tightened his helmet on, and turned to his ninjas. "Time's up, team. We'd better move." And without hesitation, Mikey and Donnie climbed into the Rawket. Though the same couldn't be said about Miwa and Raph.

Once the others were stationed, Leo pulled his phone out, "April, you guys in position?" And waited for her to answer.

"Um, roger." April remarked unsurely as she paced the rooftop, scanning the night sky for any signs of unearthly life. "I think..."

"It's kind of late for a school project, don't you think?" Kirby says while he examines the device his daughter gave him to use.

"It's, um, extra credit, Dad." The redhead fibbed nervously, accompanied with a chuckle. "W-we're tracking, uh, pigeon migrations, Yeah!"

Mr O'Neil nodded absentmindedly to his daughter, paying far more attention to the device in his hands, which seemed to be picking something up.

But Kirby was quick to notice how there were no pigeons in the sky. And yet, the pigeon scanner continued to steadily increase it's beeping. A large gust of wind blew on the top of the roof, followed by a mysterious shadow, which seemingly had no object attached to it. "What is going on here?" Kirby states in fright, watching the shadow disappear to the next rooftop.

Just as April was trying to think of some way to explain the situation, the scanner seemed to grow even more frantic. As the two O'Neil's watched the sky, where the stealth ship's disguise flickered out for just a fleeting moment, being disappearing into the night once more.

The tracking device dropped to the rooftop as Kirby stood frozen with terror, as his recurring fears all started to unfold right in front of his very eyes. "Is that...the Kraang?!"

April gasped and pulled her T-phone out, beginning to relay the coordinates back to Donnie in the lair.

TMNT TMNT TMNT TMNT TMNT TMNT

Donnie's makeshift screen on the dashboard beeped a few times before settling onto April's location. "Coordinates locked!" He announced to the four others behind him. "This is it!"

From behind him, Miwa and Leo, Raph managed to poked his head round to the side to glare daggers toward Donnie. "If we explode, I swear I'll slap you, till your green!-"

"Launch!" Leo ordered, and Donnie pressed the button. It took a few seconds to build up enough power in the engine, before the T-Rawket shot down the sewer tunnel at light speed!

The teens all let out screams as they barrelled down the tunnel, with the occasional yells of 'Yeah!' Or, 'Whoo-hoo!' And the sound of Mikey's cheeks flapping in the wind. Until they made it up to the surface.

The rawket shot straight up the side of a building, and into the air, where it ran out of steam power mid-flight. The teens all flipped out of the vehicle, and activated their bat-winged gliders to keep themselves airborne, as they raced towards the coordinates cheering.

Mikey did a loop in the air and took the lead while fist pumping the sky, "Booyakasha-Oof!" His victory call was unfortunately cut short as he crashed right into the side of something metal, but invisible. Followed unceremoniously by his siblings.

"I think we found the ship..." Leo groaned out, cringing slightly as Raph smacked right next to him.

TMNT TMNT TMNT TMNT TMNT TMNT

The three Kraang brains occupying the stealth ship inside, were too distracted by their tasks to realise that the hatch on top of the ship had been sliced open by a pair of katana, until the five ninjas jumped down into the circular room.

"It is the ones who call themselves 'The Hamatos', and 'Donnie'." said one of the Kraang blobs to the others.

"Actually dudes, it's just the Hamatos now." Mikey corrected smugly with a head tilt in Donnie's direction.

"Kraang. We must alert Kraang." One of the Kraang blobs continued for his comrade.

"Huh! Three little floating blobs of brains, that's it?" Raphael asked sarcastically, to which his turtle brothers both chuckled.

"We could take these guys in our sleep." Leo added calmly.

"We could take these guys in our sleep and our eyes closed." Mikey declared without a worry.

"Um," Donnie looked over to Miwa, sensing she was on the same page as him. "Does the word 'Cocky' ring a bell to any of you three?"

Miwa rolled her eyes at her turtle brothers, "Seriously, you guys are going to end up jinxing us or something-"

A low groaning broke the Hamato's attention, as they spun around with their weapons drawn towards a whirring sound in the wall behind them.

"Called it!" Miwa added snarkily.

A secret door in the ship's wall opened up, wafting out a steady stream of fog, that seemed to clear almost instantly after. The five teenager's eyes widened, as they saw what the fog had been hiding.

"Aw, sewer apples..." Mikey muttered in anxiously.

Stomping it's way out of the foggy storage area, was what looked like a massive blue gorilla, with wires running through it's body, leading to a headless torso.

"Um...Where's it's head?" Raph felt the need to ask.

Only for the gorilla suit to suddenly make it's way forward. As it passed by them, it knocked each of the teens out of the way like they were weighed absolutely nothing, until it met with one of the three Kraang blobs at the end of the room. Where said brain floated up to where the head was supposed to be.

"Biodroid: engage!" the Kraang announced as it settled it's floating saucer into the gorilla suits shoulders, where it locked itself into place and activated the Biodroid fully. With a rumbling snarl directed at the teens, the biodroid pulled out a pair mini chainsaws out of it's chest.

"So, you guys going to admit that your a little cocky?" Donnie added casually, seeing the irony in all of this.

"Yes!" Mikey squeaked.

The Hamato's scattered themselves to avoid the Biodroid's massive fists as it brought them down against the floor.

The five teens had their work cut out for them, as they soon discovered that the Biodroid hit as hard as it looked, and the mini chainsaws certainly didn't add much to their success...

Leo and Raph were occupied by one saw, flying fast and frantically at them without any rhythm, while Donnie and Miwa attacked the other one. Giving Mikey the chance to get the Biodroid from behind.

But as soon as Mikey's chucks had hit the suit, the Kraang blob inside pivoted round to face him, and delivered a hard punch straight to his plastron, sending him flying back against the wall.

He shook his head clear of the stars, only to have to duck as one of the saws came flying towards him. It missed by a few inches, and the saw hit a control panel hidden on the walls exterior instead.

The blade hacked the wires inside to pieces, to the point that the lock gave in, and a doorway opened, revealing the mysterious shipment to the stunned five teens.

"The Shipment!" Leo shouted when he saw it's all too familiar green glow. "It'sMutagen!-" the Biodroid smacked it's fist right into Leo's chest, sending him flying backwards where he landed flat on his shell, directly on the ship's main control panel.

The piloting Kraang blobs squealed in surprise when the bigger mutant crashed down onto their device, and even more so, as he pushed himself back up. Knocking into the buttons that made the ship reveal itself to the city below.

Raph growled as he threw himself at the Biodroid, planning to kick it square in the chest. But Leo also had the same idea, and the two turtles ended up launching themselves from opposite sides of the ship towards the gorilla suit at the same moment.

However, the Biodroid was quick to catch on, and grabbed them both by their ankles as they both flew past the suit. The droid held firm and began swinging them around like they were the blades of a propeller.

Miwa, Mikey and Donnie all tried multiple times to free them, but were quickly beaten back by the Biodroid itself, or Leo and Raph's flailing bodies.

Miwa growled, and arched her back as she watched her brothers get flung around, intent on jumping onto the droids head in an attempt to help. But once she had jumped, and grabbed hold of the hairy gorilla arm, she soon found that the suit moved way to quick for her to actually move anywhere.

In fact, she just ended up adding another flying obstacle for Mikey and Donnie to dodge.

With her grip on the droids arm quickly slipping, and with no real way to stay on, Miwa was thrown backwards, and straight into Donnie and Mikey, who had been looking for a clear shot at the Biodroid.

The three teens fell into a heap on the floor as the others were helplessly spun around.

"This thing's too tough!" Donnie yelled, struggling to sit up as Miwa got off of him.

Mikey jumped back to his feet, with a determined look in his eyes. "I got this!" he announced with a snap of his fingers, before running off. The youngest turtle ran forward, and kicked at one of the Kraang blobs who were piloting the ship.

Said unfortunate Kraang brain, squealed as it was suddenly shot up into the air, shooting all around the ship with a comedic pinball sound as it's saucer hit every wall. Eventually knocking back into the broken control panel, making a large hole in the floor open up, before finally crashing into the gorilla suit, just as the Biodroid was done throwing Raph and Leo away.

The now, very disoriented Kraang blob got knocked back into it's piloting slot at the console, at the same time that the two mutant turtles were thrown into the wall next to the shipment of mutagen.

The combined force of the two heavy mutants being knocked into the wall, gave enough impact to shake the mutagen canisters free from the shelves.

And at that exact moment, all sixty-five canisters of life altering mutagen began to roll over the floor.

Donnie's eyes widened in fear as he saw the canisters head towards the now opened hole in the ship's floor, diving forward to try and stop them.

But he was a few seconds too late, and the entire secret shipment of mutagen fell through the hole, and began to rain down on the city of New York below...

TMNT TMNT TMNT TMNT TMNT TMNT

April's bright blue eyes widened as the many canisters fell from the sky. Some can's smashed on impact with buildings and streets, others fell into hidden places, away from human eyes.

All apart from one, which was on a direct collision course with April.

Frozen in fear, the redhead watched helplessly as the can span it's way towards her, faster and faster until she closed her eyes and awaited the pain.

"April!!"

The sound of the canister smashing above her made her eyes shoot up to see that her father had blocked the mutagens fall onto her, and had instead, shared it's chaotic effects with him...

"Dad!?" April questions in fear as her father begins to transform before her very eyes.

Her father's arms began to snap and enlarge beneath his coat as he screamed and groaned in agony and pain, backing up to get away from his daughter, he was unaware of the fast approaching edge of the rooftop, until he was toppling over it.

"No! Noo!!" April screamed as she ran to the side of the building, praying her father was alright.

As her head peaked over the side, a swarm of recently disturbed bats flew up and into her face, sending her falling backwards as they scattered around her.

Followed closely after them, was a massive winged figure, which landed on the opposite building to April with a loud bat like screech.

"Oh no! No! Noo!!" April cried out as she watched the red-haired mutant scream.

The once human Kirby, was now completely unrecognisable.

In his new mutated form, his head was enlarged and misshapen, with mutagen filled veins running down it and around his body. His red bread and hair remained, but were hardly seen behind his bat wing like ears, and flattened bat nose.

Orange fur covered his lower body, while his torso stayed somewhat unhairy. His right arm had somewhat shrunk, while his left was enlarged by it's original size twice.

And to finish the mutagen off, he now had a pair of long purple wings with an arm attached to the top of each, baring razor sharp claws.

April's eyes stung with tears, threatening to fall, as she watched this disfigured and mutated version of her father screech and squeal at her.

Launching himself into the air, Mr O'Neil focused his mutagen green eyes on his daughter, and attacked.

"All that mutagen!" Raphael glared at his two younger brothers and older sister. "You three are the biggest screw-ups ever!"

"Well you could've grabbed one single canister!" Donnie snapped back at him, only to be grabbed and moved aside by Miwa, as Mikey went and grabbed Raph. Saving the two bickering teens from being flattened by the gorilla's hands.

"Focus Donnie!" Miwa reminded him and charged the Biodroid Leo was currently singlehandedly taking on.

"Kraang," one of the blobs informed his partner as he continuously hit a screwdriver into the damaged console. "The console that is broken must be made unbroken!"

And broken, the console was. Losing all control and steering meant the stealth ship was now stuck on one straight course. Smashing it's way through billboards and signs alike as the aliens tried to fix it.

The Biodroid grabbed Leo and Miwa by their wrists and threw them backwards into their two turtle brothers, leaving a clear shot to the bot for Donnie.

With a spin of his bō staff, Donnie hit the Biodroid in the chest, before using it's shoulders to launch himself over it, where he landed in a crouched position, and struck out with fire in his eyes to the droids back.

The staff slammed into the droid, and for a moment it seemed like it had done something. Until the droids...butt cover fell off, and produced a pair of tiny cannons.

"Butt cannons?" Donnie muttered, before his eyes went wide in terrifying realization, "It has Butt Cannons?!"

"Biodroid: Engage!" The gorilla suits pilot called out as the suit braced itself against a wall.

The teens yelled as they recognised the sound of cannons coming to life and separated. The lasers flew around the ship in an uncoordinated manner, sending the ninjas on a crazed run to get away from them.

April ran across the rooftop like her life depended on it, because it did. As he deranged and feral mutant father chased after her relentlessly.

"Stop! It's me, Dad!" She tried to plea to his senses as she ducked away from him, just as he swooped down to grab her. The mutant bat looped round in the air, and circled back after her as she hid behind a shed.

Holding her tessen close to her, April muttered. "Please don't ground me...But!-" And slammed the closed fan onto the bats nose. Sending the mutant squealing in pain away, on to the top of the shed's roof.

The red-haired bat whimpered as it held it's pulsing nose in his hands, giving April a sad and pained glance.

April realized at this point, that her father may not be entirely feral. And got to her feet with an apologetic voice, "Sorry, Dad!"

TMNT TMNT TMNT TMNT TMNT TMNT

The stealth ship continued it's uncontrollable course through the city. Smashing into buildings and streetlights, and just generally destroying everything in it's path.

As the ninjas continued to try and fight the Biodroid, Donnie glanced over at the useless Kraang blobs still messing with the controls, and decided to take matters into his own hands.

"Mikey! Drop those Kraang!" The brunet yelled to his turtle brother, to which Mikey happily pocketed his chucks for a moment.

"Done, and Done!" The turtle chirped as he pulled out two shurikens. "Throwing star time!" He called, and launched the two metal stars into the two blob Kraang's saucers.

"KRAANG!?!" The aliens yelled as their tiny ships started to malfunction, making one of them jolt up and down repeatedly, and the other spin off into the room. Where Donnie happened to be waiting for them both, batting them away with his bō staff like baseballs.

The human teen landed on the control panel and pulled his bō staff up into the air, where he then produced a naginata blade, and stabbed straight through the ball that was used as the steering wheel of the ship.

The ship's screen filled with error and warning signs at the foreign object stuck inside it, but Donnie payed it no attention as he used his bō as a wheel and pulled it all the way to the right. Sending the ship on a sudden turn.

But building after building kept abruptly approaching as the ship stuck to it's newly set course, meaning Donnie now had to manually steer the ship out of the city. "Left!" He groaned as he forced the bō left, before then having to force to right, "Okay..."

On the other side of the ship, the rest of the Hamatos, as well as the Biodroid, all held onto each other for safety as they were thrown around the room.

"How about we set a new course?" Donnie asked rhetorically, as he grabbed hold of his bō and forced it all the way backwards with a grunt, "Like the MOON!"

And with the steering ball now set all the way back, the ship took a sudden ascend into the sky, spinning as it went.

The Biodroid landed on the side of the ship with a mighty thud, and got back up to defend itself against the Hamatos once more.

Mikey plopped down next to it and smacked his chucks against it's arm, until the droid went in for a punch and missed as the orange-clad turtle jumped away.

Being replaced by Miwa as she lashed out her tantō at him with a yell, as Raph landed on it's back, stabbing his sai deep within it's shoulders where the droids arms couldn't reach.

Miwa grabbed hold of one of the arms, as Raph got the other from behind. Leaving Mikey to grab hold of the actual Kraang pilot inside of the gorilla suit and pull it out as far as it would go.

So that as Leonardo came charging his way down the side of the ship with his katana in hand, his blade would pierce the suit rather than the Kraang itself. And that it did, leaving sparks and wires flying as the ninjas backed away from the wreckage of the suit.

The leader in blue landed on the glass windows beside the suit, and noticed the sudden height they had climb too in the ship. "We gotta go!" He ordered and all four of the others followed after him as he jumped through the hole in the ship's floor. Leaving the ship to spin it's way out of earth's atmosphere entirely.

The ninjas pulled out their grappling hooks and latched onto the street signs below, where they swung their way to safety a few rooftops away from April's apartment.

Glancing up, they noticed April stood alone on the roof, before also seeing the giant mutant bat stood above her.

The mutated Kirby tipped his head back as he let off another squeal, before taking flight once more, and circling back down towards April.

The Hamatos jumped down beside her, before leaping at the bat with their weapons drawn and ready.

"NO!" April screamed, "Don't hurt him!!"

The ninjas practically stopped dead in mid-air, as Kirby swooped past them, knocking them back down to the rooftop. He drew in his claws, and grabbed hold of April's shoulders, where he then lifted off again and flew away with the redhead yelling.

"April!" Donnie calls after her, but in less then a minute, the two had disappeared from their sight.

"Ugh! Can this night get any worse!" Raph groaned as he slapped his forehead.

"It totally can..." Miwa stated to him.

"Huh?" He turnt back, seeing her looking down at a pile of shattered glass and mutagen on the floor.

"Guys..." Leo addressed them bitterly, "I think that mutant was Mr. O'Neil."

Mikey squinted at the mutagen, "How could you tell?"

The teens all gave Mikey a look of annoyance as Leo sighed and answered for him. "You see many giant red-bearded, middle aged bats lately?"

Behind the others, Donnie was pretty close to having a mental freak out, pulling his arms close to his chest to try and came himself. "We gotta go after her!" He yelled as he pulled the hood on his head tightly in stress.

"But what about all that mutagen?" Raph felt the need to point.

"He's right, there's probably canisters spread all over the city!" Miwa added uneasily.

"But what about April?" Mikey questioned with a pout.

"Everyone, stop!" Leo snapped assertively, and faced Miwa and Raph. "The mutagen is gonna have to wait, guys. April's dad comes first."

The red-clad turtle and his sister shared a look, before nodding to Leo. The five ninjas then made their way back to the lair to come up with a plan. Except for Donnie, who stopped for a moment to pick up a piece of the canister, before making off after the others.

TMNT TMNT TMNT TMNT TMNT TMNT

Back in the lair, the Hamatos all sat around the pit trying to figure out how to clean up the mess they'd mistakenly made.

"I can't think, I can't think!" Donnie had begun to panic worse now, and started to walk in continuous circles in the middle of the room to keep himself from having a full out panic attack in front of the others. "I'm seriously stressing here!"

"Donnie! Get a hold of yourself." Miwa snapped in an attempt to calm him, "We'll get her back. Just think calm thoughts..."

"Okay, Okay, think calm thoughts." He muttered to himself and closed his eyes, breathing in slowly while raising his hands. "Think calm thoughts-"

"You think he's a vampire?" Mikey suddenly interrupted, not noticing the head shakes from his other siblings. "Ya think he'll drink her blood and turn her into the undead?" He finished with a spooky finger wiggle as he smiled to himself.

Though his smile turned to a grin as Donnie suddenly came right up to his face. "Are youtryingto freak me out!?" The brunet yelled at the smirking turtle.

Leo sighed as Mikey and Donnie continued to bicker amongst themselves, and prayed for some sort of answer.

As if on cue, the soft footfalls of his Sensei coming back from the kitchen with his nightly tea, sounded from behind him.

"Sensei! Say we're, um, trying to catch a stray pet." Leo stated unsurely, he felt bad lying to his father, but he'd feel worse telling him the truth. "Like a cat?"

At this, Splinter spun his head around with fear in his eyes. "A Cat!?"

Leo waved his hands in a calming manner, "Or maybe a-a parrot?" He was quick to correct himself. "Um, what's the best strategy?"

Splinter sighed in relief, and composed himself. "Food, of course." He answers, "Any animal can be lured by food." He was about to leave the conversation at that, but with a thoughtful beard stroke, he eyed his five children attentively. "So, what is this truly about?"

At his Sensei's tone and his amber eyes focusing solely on him, Leo felt himself slipping and couldn't lie to his father anymore, so with a wavy voice, he answered back, "Uh, we trying to-"

A sudden green hand over his mouth shout Leo up, as Raph looked around nervously. "Um, nothing Sensei. Just talking about parrots like we usually do." He added casually, as the other three all nodded in agreeance, even Leo, with his mouth still covered nodded.

Splinter raised an eyebrow at his children, but decided to trust their word, and left to resume his meditation for the night.

Raph released Leo's mouth with a grin, as Leo lite up with realization. "Food! It's so simple, it's brilliant!" He yelled at himself mainly. He then turned his attention to Donnie. "What do bats eat?"

"Rodents and other small invertebrates." He answered back, and didn't miss the way the others shuddered at the 'rodents' part. "Oh yeah, and bugs! The bigger the better!" He added with a gap-toothed grin.

"So where are we gonna find a huge bug?" Mikey asked with confusion. "Dress up some sorry sucker in a giant fly costume?"

Donnie smirked to himself and turned to the oldest three, who also wore smirks on their faces...

A few minutes later, and Mikey had a pair of makeshift wings made from pizza boxes, four pairs of fake arms attached to his side, a pair of bobbly antennae, and googles made from orange squeezers.

The freckled turtle looked at himself with a slight frown. "I kinda feel like bait."

"Oh, don't think of yourself as bait, Mikey." Raph reassures him, as Miwa tries her hardest to hold back her laughter beside him. "This is your new superhero costume. You could call yourself, um-"

"Turflytle!" Mikey suddenly shouts ecstatically. "Tur-fly-tle. Oh, yeah, I love it! Too awesome." He then turns to the others. "What are my powers?"

Leo blinks a few times then answers, and at the other three teens on the verge of tears, he answered back, "Um, you can...hang from a rope?"

Mikey then grabs hold of one of his 'arms' and shakes it. As his smile grows ten times wider. "This is sweet!!"

April groans as she starts to come too. "Ugh...where am I?"

Only to quickly notice the cold spring breeze passing by her nose. She blinks a few times, and looks around, realizing a second later, that she was actually sat on a building ledge, several stories high.

She gasps, and throws herself back against the wall. "This is a dream..." she tried to convince herself, "Gotta be...how did I get here?!"

A flash of red and orange fur made it's way past her with a bat-like squeal, as her father flew down towards her once more.

She screamed, expecting the mutated version of her father to attack her. But Kirby stood over her, sniffing her for a moment, before he began to regurgitate a dead rat and a pile of garbage straight into her lap.

April raised her hands in disgust as her father smiled at her for praise. "Ugh, sick! You expect me to eat that?" She scolded him, and shoved the 'food' off of her lap as she pointed away. "Now go! Go get me some real food!" She continued to yell, until her father understood her, "You go, dad! Go!"

The mutant bat, squealed in a sad way, before taking off into the night to find something else for his daughter to eat.

"Okay. Bought myself some time." April sighs in relief, furrowing her brows as she stands up. "There's gotta be a way off this stupid ledge." She remarks and starts to try and shimmy around the corner.

Soaring through the night sky once more with their wing packs, the Hamatos teens fly around in search of the newly mutated Kirby.

Raph takes the lead, with Michelangelo attached by a rope to his belt below him.

"Turflytle is on the patrol, buzz, buzz." Mikey declares with a heroic voice, "His bug eyes spy every crime, buzz, buzz."

"Will you stop saying 'Buzz, buzz' after every sentence?" Raph snaps down to him.

"I could do that, buzz, buzz." Mikey announced. "But I probably won't, buzz, buzz."

With the final 'buzz buzz' said, Raphael gritted his teeth and grabbed hold of his pack's handles and shook Mikey around. Trying to slam him into an exterminator billboard on the way.

"Whoa, dude! Be kind to insects, buzz buzz!" Mikey screamed as he ran across the board.

"Was it a smart idea to give Mikey to Raph?" Miwa adds from above Leo.

"Probably not." Leo replied simply, "I'm...sure he'll be fine." He takes hold of his handles and flies closer to Donnie, who was scanning the sky for April's dad. "Donnie, any sign of Kirby?"

Donnie sighs in disappointment. "Nothing yet... Raph, shake Mikey around a bit more. He needs to mimic a fly's flight pattern."

A devilish laugh from the red-clad turtle, was all the conformation the others needed to know that they definitely shouldn't of given Mikey to Raph.

"No problem!" Raph grinned, and gripped his handles, before doing loop the loops and swirls in mid-air.

"Whoo, yeah! Buzz, buzz!" Mikey cheered as he was flung around, making him look like a fly stuck in a house.

Completely unaware of the growling mutant watching him below...

Donnie surveyed the area around them throughly, and gasped when he noticed the middle-age bat mutant charging it's way towards Mikey. "Kirby at 4:00!"

This time, Leo gasped as he realized Kirby's target. "He's heading straight for Mikey. Pull up, pull up!"

"Whoa!" Mikey screamed as he was pulled out of Kirby's way by the skin of his teeth.

Kirby screeched as he missed, a circled round in the air for a second chance at his meal.

"He's coming around again!" Donnie shouted back to Raph.

The red-clad turtle nodded and flew down low, spinning Mikey a couple of times to keep Kirby's attention, before bolting between the buildings.

Mikey grabbed his nunchucks out and span them around. "Time for turflytle to take out his arch nemesis, Wing-Nut!" He remarked as he hit Kirby straight in the face with a grunt.

"You are not giving my girlfriend's father a monster name!" Donnie scolded the turtle with deadly glare.

"Girlfriend, ay?" Miwa smirked as she flew steadily beside him. "The date went that well?"

"Oh be quite!" Donnie defended himself, as his cheeks only blushed brighter.

All while Leonardo flew up above them. His silhouette shown with the moon's light, as he unstrapped his pack from his shell and entered a freefall downwards.

He lands onto Kirby's back, and tries to grab hold of his ears, but the mutant bat begins to freak out, trying to knock him off. "Mr. O'Neil! Kirby!" Leo tries to calm him down in his frantic frashing, "We don't wanna hurt you! We wanna help!"

As the bat continued with no sign of stopping, Leo looks to his team, "Stick to the plan!" He yells and grabs hold of the bat's ears.

"There's a plan?" Raph and Mikey question as Miwa and Donnie shake their heads hopelessly.

"The warehouse!" Leo ordered while struggling to direct the mutant in one straight direction, "We trap him in the warehouse!"

Screeching as he went, Kirby began to fight the turtle on his back harder. Not paying any attention to his surroundings, to the point that he ended up slamming right into Donnie's side.

"Donnie!" The others shout, as the teen falls to the rooftops screaming.

The brunet's pack had been broken, which meant his wings were stuck out and unable to fold away. Leading the teen to spin uncontrollably in the air, until he unstrapped himself and fell onto the roof in a rather painful fall.

His pack smacked against the wall beside him as he stood up dazed and struggling to stand. "That hurt..." he muttered to himself as he saw the road rash like marks appear on his fingers, and no doubt, his knees and elbows.

"Donnie!" April called from beside him. "Up here! I'm over here!"

Donnie blinked, and turned to see April holding onto the ledge of the building next to him, "April! Hold on!" He called as he got his grappling hook out and threw it to her.

Meanwhile, the other four were struggling to get Kirby into position, as he continued to screech and flail.

The mutant bat tried to turn around and bite the turtle holding his head, but after a good few failed attempts, Leo shoved the side of his katana blade into his mouth, to stop his attack. "We're coming up on the warehouse!" Leo announced as he gripped the bats ear and his blade tighter.

Mikey and Raph both pulled out their hooks and threw them at Kirby's wings, hooking on and jumping down to try and restrain him.

But their plan failed tremendously, as the two turtles were then slammed into buildings and billboards alike, shouting incoherently to the leader to turn the mutant bat.

"Dammit!" Miwa snapped as she too, then unstrapped herself and dropped. She arched her foot out as she fell to kick Kirby in the face. Sending the giant bat falling through a glass roof and into the warehouse below.

The bat lay sprawled on the floor for a moment in pain as the ninjas around him moved to get to the lever at the side of the room, lowering a metal cage down onto the mutant. Who screeched and slammed his winged hands against the cage in feral rage. But the bars held strong against him.

"Sorry, Kirby. It's only temporary." Leo tried to reassure him just as April came running in through the garage door, with Donnie behind her, closing the door shut.

"Yo, we did it, Don!" Mikey cheers with a grin, "We caught the Kirby bat! Ha! Ow!-"

The turtle received a firm elbow to the gut as Donnie growled at him quietly. "Mikey!"

"Dad!" April exclaims in horror as she races to her father's side. The mutant bat shares her sadness and lowers his head, as April places as gentle hand on his nose. "Dad..."

April wipes the tears from her eyes as she stands before her friends, "What are we gonna do with him?" She asks hopelessly, "I mean, keep him caged forever? Feed him a steady diet of mice and flies?" She asked the last part rhetorically.

So when the brunet of the group stepped forward and added, "Actually, bats love moths and spiders too..." April's gasp of shock, was enough to shut him up. "Sorry..."

April hung her head in guilt, as the reality of the situation only continued to worsen. "This is all my fault... If I hadn't lied to Dad-"

"Listen, don't blame yourself, April." Mikey says as he places his hand on her shoulder. "It was our fault. We spilled the mutagen. We'll fix it." He smiled proudly once he had finished, completely unaware of the other four teens behind April shaking their heads and silently telling him to stop talking.

April's eyes widened in a mixture of shocked and confusion as she glared at Mikey. "What? You guys- You guys spilled the mutagen?"

The freckled turtle nodded, ignoring his siblings once again. "Yeah. We accidentally unleashed all that mutagen all over the city, but don't worry. We'll get it back!"

By now, all had been confirmed, and April clenched her fists in anger. She turns to the four behind her with fire building in her eyes. "You- You!-"

The now furious bat screeches at the Hamatos, scaring Mikey away from April and the cage, and back behind Miwa for safety.

"I swear..." Donnie begins to promise. "By Darwin's beard, we'll cure him!"

April's eyes almost seemed to glow as she threw her hands to her side, and screamed at the Hamatos. "YOU MUTATED MY FATHER!!!"

Kirby screeched furiously, and threw his wings to the top of the cage with enough force to snapped the metal into pieces, giving him enough space to fly out and into the room.

"What? No!" April yells as her father swooped down to try and grab at the six teens. Before looping round, and heading straight for her. She screams as the bats clawed feet prepared to grab her once again that night. Only for Donnie to jump in front of her with his bō staff and slam it across Kirby's face. Sending the bat screeching upwards, and out of the shattered window above.

"DAD!" April cried as her father continued to vanish into the night sky. Before pivoting round to face the others with a fierce wrath burning in her eyes. One she happened to place on Donnie for a moment longer.

The teens all lowered their heads in shame, knowing that they could never fully make it up to her. But Donnie still reached out his hand, to try and offer the redhead girl some comfort.

But April shoved his hand away with a furious huff. "Don't! Don't touch me!" She cried out in rage, pointing at Donnie accusingly. "You keep away from me! I never wanna see your faces, ever again!" And with her final words said, April turned on her heels, and ran out of the warehouse.

"April! Matte! 'Wait!'" Donnie began to move forward, only for Raph to stop him with an outstretched arm and shake of his head.

"Let her go, man. Give her some space." Raph states and moves away as Donnie remained still in place for awhile.

"Leo, what do we do now?" Miwa sighed wearily.

"I-I'm not too sure. But we should probably talk to Sensei first." Leo announced uncomfortably and the five Hamatos all slowly made their way back home. Being weighed down by the guilt of their actions.

The hologram casting Kraang head lite up once more as the image of one of the brain blobs stared nervously into the darkness of the throne room.

"Where is my mutagen, creature?" The Shredder spat dangerous, reminding the Kraang that he was not a man to be messed around.

"The complications became overly complicated." The brain explains, "The ones known as the Hamatos and Donnie, who are now the ones known as the Hamatos, stopped the shipment. Kraang will make amends." And with that, the hologram flickered and faded as the call broke off.

"These creatures are useless." Shredder growled in irritation, to which, Tigerclaw couldn't agree more. "I will find a way to expand my army, On my own."

TMNT TMNT TMNT TMNT TMNT TMNT

Splinter walked beside the waterway, while stroking his beard in thought. "This is all very grave news." He states, "Very grave, indeed."

Donnie sighed as he rested his hands on his knees, shaking his head in sadness. "I can't believe this is happening... Poor April."

"Do not dwell on the past." Splinter remarks and faces his children once more, "You must find every last canister of mutagen. You must search every street, every park and playground, every building and rooftop... before we have even more mutants on our hands."

At that, the five teens could agree was the last thing they needed. They stood and bowed to their Sensei that they understood their mission. Even if it takes them all year to do so, they would find every last canister of mutagen they'd spilt...

TMNT TMNT TMNT TMNT TMNT TMNT

As the early morning hours came around, the Hamato teens all dispersed to their rooms. Planning to sleep for most of the day, so that when night time rolled around, they would be at their best for the long search ahead.

Michelangelo wasn't normally a restless sleeper, in fact, he was normally out cold by the time he hit his pillow. But something was keeping the orange-masked turtle up. A gnawing feeling in his stomach kept growing and getting worse. Like when he ate that entire spicy jelly bean, meat eaters deluxe pizza in just two minutes...

The turtle rolled over, and over again, until he had had enough, and threw his pillow at the Chris Bradford cutout in the corner of his room in annoyance. With a sigh, he got up from his bed and trudged over to the door.

Pushing it opening while giving out a long yawn, Mikey made his way into the bedroom hallway, and towards the bathroom.

Only to come to a halt as the light coming from beneath said door was on, indicating it was in use. Some shuffling noises sounded from inside, followed by a flushing noise, and the tap running water down the drain. Until the door creaked open slowly and Donnie made his way out even slower.

The brunet looked worse for wear, and his already pale skin didn't hide the fact he had lost a few shades in complexion. If Mikey hadn't of been as awake as he was, he swore he would of screamed about the ghost that just made it's way out of their bathroom.

But luckily for the two teens, and their sleeping family members, Mikey was wide awake. But now, he was also concerned.

The brunet on the other hand, didn't seem to notice him as quickly, and jumped backwards as the light being let out from the bathroom door revealed the turtle hiding in the shadows. "Mikey? I-I'm sorry, I didn't know anyone else was up-"

"Donnie, dude. Your like really white?" Mikey interrupts with worry, "Like more so then usual?" The turtle placed his hand on Donnie's head, and withdrew it once he felt how normal his temperature was. Which thankfully meant that his brother wasn't ill.

Mikey saw the tired look in Donnie's mahogany eyes, and glanced back to the bathroom with a deepening pout. "Were you sick again, dude?"

Donnie kept his eyes down, and held his arms over his chest. Then nodded twice.

"Well, why don't you head back to bed. And I'll grab ya a glass of water?" Mikey requested.

Donnie shook his head, "You don't have to-"

"Tough!" Mikey hollered loudly, and pushed the brunet back to his bedroom, before he could protest further.

The turtle then ran off to the kitchen to fill up a glass with some cold water. Before making his way carefully back to the bedrooms.

Mikey pushed Donnie's already open door further into the room, and smiled. Seeing the lively room always made Mikey happy. It was as if Donnie created a tiny lab, right here within his room. With posters on the walls, and books practically filling his shelves. And gadgets and contraptions scattered across every surface there was.

And of course, there was the photo of Mikey and Donnie on Christmas day, which the brunet put on his bedside table, which always brought happiness to Mikey. As that was their first every picture together, as brothers.

But when Mikey saw the younger teen sat down on his futon, with his head buried in his knees, the turtle's smile soon dipped into a frown. Closing the door with his foot, Mikey moved to Donnie's side, sitting down right beside him, and handing him the glass.

"You feeling better, D?" He asked in a hopeful tone.

Donnie sighed, and took the glass from him. "Not entirely..."

"Do you wanna talk about it?" Mikey suggested.

But just took a sip of his water, and look away from him tiredly. "What's there to talk about?"

Mikey blinked for a moment in thought, before saying. "Well, You skipped breakfast, and you didn't eat lunch, or dinner yesterday?" He pointed out plainly, "And you told me, that you don't normally eat when something is bothering you?-"

"It doesn't matter." Donnie muttered and slammed the glass down on his bedside draw.

But unfortunately for him, Mikey was a persistent turtle. "Donnie. Tell me what's wrong, dude."

But unfortunately for Mikey, Donnie was as stubborn as Raph sometimes. And would require alot of digging into before he broke.

"Why do you care, Mikey?" Donnie whined at him, trying to swipe his blanket up to cover over his head. Intent on rolling into a sad ball, and not emerging for the next five hours.

Mikey on the other hand, had other plans, and stole his cozy purple blanket, wrapping it around his own shoulders. "It's my duty as your big brother to make sure your ok, D."

Donnie groaned and grabbed his blanket, tugging it away from Mikey, but the turtle held form and pulled it back. Until the two young teens were in a lengthy tug of war battle for warmth. Pulling and pulling until Donnie decided that he was going to be the mature one here, and let go. Sending Mikey rolling backwards off of Donnie's futon.

The freckled turtle got back up with a victorious grin on his face, before sitting back next to Donnie with the blanket huddled solely on his shoulders.

"There's something terribly wrong, about you being my older brother." Donnie remarked sarcastically with a chuckle to accompany.

Mikey inwardly cheered as he leaned closer to his brother. Donnie's walls were strong, but nothing could keep Mikey out for long!

The turtle leant his head on Donnie's shoulder, and wrapped the blanket over them both. Before giving him the biggest puppy dog eyes he could muster.

The final break to bring the walls toppling down...

Donnie rolled his eyes, and snicker at his brothers antics. But soon his smirk faded and he looked away with a sadness Mikey didn't want to see on Donnie's face. "Why...do I always screw everything up..."

Mikey pouted at that, and glanced up. "What'd yah mean, D?"

It was like the switch was flicked on, as Donnie got up and started to pace, "I mean! How come when my life was just starting to make sense! When everything seemed to final change for the better, it all started to come undone again!!" He shouted out the final part, which was not his intention. And before long, he found himself collapsing right back down onto his bed again

Mikey laid down next to him, and cast his sorrowful blue eyes, towards Donnie's exhausted mahogany ones.

"Why can't I just have something good in my life..." the brunet whispered in a quiet voice. Truly, it felt like the world was against him sometimes. Purposefully giving him goods things, only to snatch them away again with no remorse.

"You still got me?"

Donnie stopped himself mid thought, and turned to observe the mutant beside him. Mikey smiled, a warm and comforting smile, that made it feel as if all of Donnie's problems had just suddenly floated away...

Donnie smiled back, and went to thank him, but Mikey wasn't done just yet...

"Well," the turtle started again, "And Sensei." He then looked as if he was done, only to suddenly go on again, "And Leo, And Miwa and-."

"Ok, Ok, I get it!" Donnie stopped him with an sarcastic huff.

To which Mikey grinned back, "Ya know, Splinter says you should never lose hope, D. And I think that applies perfectly to this situation."

The brunet nodded, and gave him a lopsided smile. "It's kinda hard to hope, when your future looks so hopeless..."

Mikey's expression soured slightly, before he turnt to his brother. "Yeah, well, I'm no fortune teller, but I'd say everything will work out, A-ok!"

"You think?" Donnie chuckled, and sat back up, secretly stealing the rest of his blanket whilst Mikey was distracted.

"Yeah, dude!" The turtle beamed. Be then put his fingers on his temples and began to hum loudly. "Donatello... in your future, I see...!-"

Donnie laughed as Mikey then pretended to rub his 'crystal ball'. Smiling at a future only he could 'see'. "Oh! All of us bros chowing down on some of New York's finest pizza! Playing video games...!"

"And April and her dad are there right with us! Though...you know, Mr O'Neil is a giant bat." The turtle chuckled awkwardly.

The human sighed, and glanced at his ceiling. "Hopefully...I just, I'm not sure how I can fix April's father...or our friendship..."

"Psstt!" Mikey suddenly spat, doing a nonchalant wave with his hand. "I'm sure you'll figure something out. A genius like you? Making a retro-mutagen should be a breeze!"

Donnie blinked for a second, turning to Mikey with a raised eyebrow. "Retro-mutagen?"

"Yeah, the cure for April's dad, dude?" Mikey shrugged as if it were obvious. But glancing back, he saw Donnie's face and gasped. "Does it not have a name yet?"

"I don't think it exists yet, Mikey?" Donnie corrected him.

"Oh dude! This is totally sweet!!" Mikey began to cheer, "You and me, are like inventors!" The turtle jumped up from his seat on the bed, and pulled out Donnie's spinning chair from beside his desk, before then standing on it, and announcing to the world, "Retro-mutagen, just you wait! As me and my brother, are gunna- Whoa!"

Donnie laughed as Mikey fell off his spinning chair, and felt a thousand times better then he did before.

Mikey truly was the only medicine he needed anymore, and that was ok for him.

But all in all, Mikey was right.

There's always Hope...
