Stargate Atlantis Trading Grounds I: The Return To La Rochelle
Warnings: I lost another page, so I have to fix this, before I finish the upload right now, as from here it's case of fixing the damage. In the cast, and with it, Nick Ballard makes an appearance, as he sees after 25 years. Daniel found his way back to the command side of the grouping that were trying to over turn his decision then. After Daniel's parents were killed in the accident here now, so from here it changes now.
But if anyone noticed here in the continued references to the movie script of Sphere, the story is going to follow some of it, but changes in other areas. And this story on Sphere, is going to be book 3 of the 6 part series I'm creating. Basing it from now, to end of Season 5, and instead of dead, Daniel's going to be training to be a Q. And like season 6 showed, only 3 of the 22 episodes, has him with the trio, the others.
He's there at the SGA, Daniel's clone, turned twin brother ascended and Daniel is at the SGA, making his powers stronger. As the last episode unlocked his potential completely, though by doing that, everything that came with it. Starts coming out in visions, till they reach my other story, of the Past and Present series. Till the final shot results now here in the 5 years he spent, on board the enterprise, there in Antarctica.
With this series, there's going to be a severe amount of backlash brought on by the traumas of Hathor and Machello. But the connector is going to be Need and Shyla's kingdom, so for Sam and Jack. The events of Hathor and Shyla have stuck, leaving them facing a backlash that has Daniel. And Teal'C, on one side of the line, them on the other, in basing this solely on the book series on the movie, directly after it.
The events are altered to it being civilian ran with military help and the SGA is just that, as Jack and Makepeace get the entirety of the consequences. That resulted in Daniel becoming a pariah now in that book series, only now it's reversed here. So everything negative on Daniel is Jack now, in the SGA and everything Jack is Daniel. In the SGC ops, but it's because of the permanent effects of Hathor's pheromones.
This story and it's followers are going to match the dialog, in the flashback memories, of chapter 4, of the past meets the present series. As it also follows the complete mental breakdowns, of the human half of the team. And Robert Makepeace and Adam Johnson, so the story is going to follow the dialog to the letter exactly. Along with some new dialog that was not in the fast forwarded portion in the flashbacks.
Basing this in real time, rather then the show, of 25 years ago, Antarctica was a neutral zone for research so military research was not allowed out there. And with it, as the chair is considered military technology, it was meant to be last resort. In case of another orbital attack, so the outpost is now trade and exploration. So with this chapter, is the colony/crew is now getting used to being a slightly underwater crew.
As he's getting to work in trading to bring in more improvement for the planet at large now, so a military attack. Just to bring him back to the states, is attempted, is an international. In incidents and enough to get them convicted for kidnapping now, with his clearance. So from here, is he's dropping in on Ry'ac and Drey'auc and before the press conference. And just before his first stop in planets is to Gaea, home of the Nox.
This chapter will finish off this portion of the story-line, as the next two chapters and forward, cover chapter 2, going by the name. And of The Glory Of Tantulus, which covers things, from his going to the races and Tok'ra creation of the treaty. And his return to Shyla, before the following Chapters cover the the breakdowns of the trio and Carter, who's lost her ability to function mentally, out of desperation now.
As the mission was sanctioned, and he was transferred to Landry and the Atlantis team at the time. As Rodney McKay, Cam Mitchell, Vala Mal Doran, Hank Landry, Frank Simmons, Steven Caldwell, John Shepard. And Elizabeth Weir enter the picture here, the story will have Daniel and Teal'C joining their team. As the SGA is founded 5 years early, and moved into the outpost on earth….
Disclaimers: I don't own the shows, the story belongs to everything else belongs to the creators and the movie companies.
Chapter 94: New Futures And Fresh Starts X: Time's Arrow and Recovery II
Avalon I Continued:
That he was never coming back, he made his choice and that choice was not her now, he had enough of her crap after giving her a second chance and she promptly stabbed him in the heart. To him there was nothing left to understand, they could argue all they wanted, he was never coming back, as it started on her side of it, as she was arriving from Bora Bora. "Good sleep?" The pilot taking her to NORADA asked and she nodded. "Not bad." she said to him then.
"So where are we?" she asked and he said it then. "Where you coming from?" he asked and she explained that. "Los Angeles: Left yesterday." She said and he nodded as he answered her then. "So you came Los Angeles to Santiago, Chile, then connect to Punta Arenas, Chile, K.G., here?" he said and she nodded. "Yep." She said and he nodded. "Long trip." he said and she nodded. "What do you do?" he asked and she explained that to him.
At the question. "I'm a theoretical astrophysicist." she said and he nodded then. "So where exactly are we now?" she added, and he pointed to the tower then. "That's where we're headed: Over there, here, take a look." he said and she took her sunglasses off. "What is that?" she said in shock to this then and he nodded, as he explained why that was there. "Why is everyone treating this place like it's the Colorado Rockies." she said in shock then.
"Just in case someone gets caught outside when it starts getting dark, temperatures during the winter up here drop below zero at night. Which is why we had that tower, so we can look for any that get stuck out there during a winter." he said and she nodded in shock, realizing Daniel had been up there so long, he preferred this. To being on the front lines at the time. "Wow: All that just to get the research results?" she said and he said it,
And in hiding a smile. "And I thought we had it bad right now, but I agree with Eric, if the job calls for an astrophysicist, archeologist, mathematician. Officer in a security detail, computer specialist and psychiatrist, just why the hell is she here exactly right now." Parker said and Renfro nodded in agreement as she squeezed his shoulder and he looked up at her smiling. And Henderson hid a chuckle, knowing they were close friends as a result and he nodded, smiling.
"And the flyboys call this dangerous, we're not on the front lines, but doing what we were trained for here, and she's on seeing what he does now as dangerous, she's crazy." Fletcher said and Parker nodded as she hugged him from behind and he smiled as he pressed his forehead. And to her's and knowing Sam was watching this from the hospital, is they knew she was getting jealous, his bond with the trio was strong and he loved them all like sisters then.
"Yeah I know, but what he said was right, the more out of your mind you are, and the more extreme the situations they get into here. And Danny never signed up for the crap they get themselves at the moment, they did this to themselves. And with that, is they got themselves into this mess, so they can find a way to change themselves back." Henderson said sternly and Patterson nodded, and she went white in fear, now realizing she was completely screwed.
"They never mentioned a research results." he said and she froze at that, as they landed and she came in through the Edina, as they sat there waiting. "Yeah this should be real good right now, as she realizes you're still holding onto what they pulled on La Rochelle." he said to this then and she went white at that remark, realizing after she admitted it. She was facing an evaluation that meant the difference between acceptance and being treated as a Pariah for life.
Now knowing, she didn't have what it takes to be a Starfleet officer, and was being sent back to the SGC. "Lieutenant, you're with me." he said sternly and she nodded shakily, hearing the paternal tone saying that she was about to be evaluated. Because she was trying to get into the diving team to try and convince Daniel to come back now. "Bridge, You are a certified pilot, Lieutenant?" he asked and she nodded, realizing she was being regulated to piloting now
Rather than the diving teams then. "Yes, sir." she said and he nodded, as they came into his office on deck 26, overlooking the real bridge. "How long have you served on board the Enterprise, Lieutenant?" he asked and she said it gently. "A month, Sir." she said to him then. "I see, I understand that you've been recommended for the Diving team position. So tell me, do you think you're up to it?" he asked and she nodded gently then to him.
"I do, sir." she said and he crossed his arms sternly then. "Yeah this is like being on the space station, like I said, I'm here to train you guys, in the mental and physical rigors. Of life in space, so you don't freak out on the astroid, in this case, it's the same thing, but my unit now. Has the training, and Dustin's team is the one going in, till we swap positions here at the moment." Sharpe said and Patrick nodded as he heard his remark to Sito's double given to her now.
"I'm not so sure, I'm concerned about your record." he said and she looked at him confused. "Sir?"she said and he clarified it then. "The interplanetary incident that you were involved in at the SGC now, over La Rochelle and the cave in you caused." he said and she froze then. "With all due respect that was 2 years ago, my record since then.." she started to say and he over rode her then, knowing only he could evaluate this right now.
"It doesn't matter how long ago it was, Lieutenant, would you do something like that again?"he asked and she jerked, realizing Daniel getting her to confess, had them thinking. She would turn on a team mate repeatedly, and he had to make sure. "I can assure you, sir, that I would never, never jeopardize lives by participating in…" she started to say and he finished that. 'Young lady, doesn't matter how long here.' they heard sternly to that.
"A dare devil stunt such as another escape attempt right now, I would certainly hope not, but what concerns me is that you participated in a cover-up. And that impeded an official investigation into the near murder of a fellow team mate right now." he said and she swallowed hard. "Sir, I know I should have told the truth right from the start and told you and General Hammond the truth." she said and he nodded sternly to her.
"Yes you should, but you didn't, instead you joined with the others, your commander, Colonel Makepeace and Adam Johnson and pretended that was simply an accident. Now, what do you think that tells me about your character, hmm, what does it say to us exactly, you tried to put the blame on him. And for your own mistakes, knowing damn well he dies here and you're being imprisoned now?" he said sternly to her then.
"Sir, if you had any idea what it was like after that incident. I didn't have any friends. I didn't have anyone to talk to. I had to take my training test with the diving instructor because no one else would be my partner. In a lot of ways it would have been easier to just walk away, but I didn't now. I stuck with it, doesn't that say something about my character, too?" She said and Barnes exchanged looks with Haden, who nodded then.
"Well I'm really very sorry you didn't enjoy your time at the Academy, Ensign, but as far as I'm concerned, you should have been expelled for what you did. Quite frankly, I don't know how you made it on board this ship, you're dismissed." he said and she felt her heart fall into her boots then, that was it, she was never living this down. And for life after this, she destroyed her life, and it was no one's fault, but her's, duty to the truth in their eyes.
After getting approved then for the program, the guard lead her to the deep sea diving barracks then. "Any other gear? Watch your step." He said to her then and she said it. "I'd like to call my family." she said and he said it. "We'll get you settled in first, then send for you." he said and she said it again. "I'd like to get started." She said and he said it again. "We'll send for you." he said to her and she tried again then, trying to find out then finally here.
"Look I told you people I need a phone." She said and Alexander came out, as the guard said it then. "Then you can discuss that with Commander Barnes." He said and she said it in irritation then. "That's fine, give me a phone, I'll call him…, Alexander what are you doing here?" she asked in shock and he crossed his arms. "You need to ask that question Lieutenant, this is Naval property and you better watch the attitude right now."
"But I work here Lieutenant, and just watch the attitude right now, you're a Lieutenant, we're all Lieutenant to full bird Captain. So you just check that attitude at the door, but you think we haven't forgotten here right now. As I do believe you know Eric and Liam right now." he said, and she froze as she saw Finnegan she Walker then and she swallowed hard in fear then and the guard grabbed her arm, and she said it quickly then.
"Take your hands off me, please, do you have any idea who I am?" she said and Walker said it with his arms crossed. "Just tell him the name of the book you wrote." he said, in knowing as a so called classified program they couldn't publish anything. and Daniel's book series added 13 more new books the series. "Ente what was the latest book of the series, that it's just us, as this one has the Sphere cast added to it." Daniel asked and they heard a chuckle.
As a list of stories and synopsis's appeared on the table then. "Next to this book series, it's about to get even more out of hand then it has already here now. So The Eye The Serpent, that's we spent the next few months searching out the other eyes of Goa'uld. The crystals, altogether, power Anubis's ship and it's weapon, we found one of them and I have no doubt. That Dimitri is going to find it after Britzsky does." He said and Teal'C nodded in agreement.
"The Mark Of The Devil, by finding the Other Crystals, Origins Of The Tok'ra: we found Egeria and created her a new body. Transitions: we, now, that we found a way to protect ourselves, are getting used to going from stress and dangerous missions. And to it being a quiet job with next to no action now, The Trial Of Elements: that must mean. Now that the job has us undergoing a trial of the 4 elements as we see the power of the Wizarding network here."
"Behind Enemy Lines: That's the return to Hanka, as we search for the key to save her right now, and the only cure is the sarcophagus. Said that they're refusing here now, because of incorrect knowledge of the sarcophagus, it's going to take more then 75. To cause that level of damage, it just makes you more honest, telling the truth, no matter how much it hurts." he said and Henderson nodded in agreement to that opinion as he looked at the list of stories then.
"Sunrise: after 9 months, since the separation and shut down from the SGC: everything was dark and bleak in the galaxy now, only now that they been arrested now. Is the sun came out, fresh start, everyone is enjoying the peace and quiet, as exactly as Jacob said. Return To The Barque Of Heaven: as we start cataloguing those planets, as a training/survival mission. For us now, Alliances: this is where the final companionship between us, the Jaffa and Tok'ra now."
"Is created, The Army Of The Chosen, would be Neumann's team and they're stealing technology that is necessary to protect our allies. So they can't defend themselves against raids from renegades. Siren Song, is the ideas. And of power coming from technology that they see could be used to protect the USA, while Small Victories. That comes from a single score, and since they got released from the hospital and said is a run in with Sokar and Tabula Rasa."
"That's a case new planet, new problems here now, resulted in of everything prior to the joining up here at the ship, was blocked out. And whoever got infected with it, needed to be subdued here now, as we searched for the cure. As that whatever was causing it had to be contained and cured now." he said and they nodded, smiling in agreement then. "Yeah that sounds about right, bro, the story started from the very beginning and we, we're on the home front of this one."
"Entering book 6 now, as we finish this out now." Cam said and he nodded. "Alright, so this one is putting them in order, before the 18 months are up now. So we just found the Eye of Ra now, so following this, book 6, The Search For Avalon. Transitions, Behind Enemy Lines, Return To La Rochelle, Alliances, The Army Of The Chosen. Siren Song, Sunrise, Return To The Barque Of Heaven, Small Victories, Tabula Rasa and Origins Of The Tok'ra."
"But that's why the story plot, leading into Atlantis now, but for now, his team are practicing till the idea became so normal of being in the field this much. It's become normal so being around the first of the groups, if they have children now. Then it's a case of living as normal a life as possible as a result." he said and they nodded gently. "Yep, like being here, we're around children day in and day out." Rodney said with a laugh, as Patterson rubbed Daniel's back then.
"Whoa, hey watch where you aim that." They heard as they heard a loud clatter, as the puck came flying in through the door, and Connie came running in. "Sorry Commander, the guys struck it from both sides, practice game, and it went flying out the door." she said and he nodded. "It's alright honey, just put up the barrier windows on the rink so that doesn't happen twice, what's the score?" he asked and she smiled. "Ten Red/6 White." she said and he nodded.
"We'll come watch in the scrimmage game later, but there's where preparing for the season gets you, with school starting next month." he said and she nodded, knowing her mentor wanted to see them, in their element as young hockey players. Though they were in their last school season at the time now. "And I thought that the peewees were dangerous, high school to college, is a trip to the hospital waiting to happen." Charlie said and Henderson nodded then.
"Astrophysics You Can Use, it was a Book-of-the-Month Club Main Selection." she said and he nodded, bemused "Never heard of it." he said and Walker nodded. "Nice try that was the name of my double's book, but A) you been out of action for 18 months. And B) after you admitted you would do it again in heart beat here now, when Brandon. In truth, came to get him, and Dave, Derek and the Admiral with him, we know here."
"That you're lying right now, Lieutenant, but you never got promoted since then, for lying right now to the boss's face." Alexander said to her sternly and she froze then in shock then. "Before you ask why we came to intercept, we're just making rounds at the moment here, before the debriefing at the moment. And no, you can't talk to him, just what makes you think we don't know the real reason you're exactly, Lieutenant."
"But you're gold level everything is considered classified to you, but the commander in chief gave directed orders, anything we want, within reason is allowed. You really thought he read your book, well I see even after 18 months now. And since Brandon removed him from the SGC, you still haven't changed, whatsoever. But the answer is still no, Lieutenant, and it will always be no." he said and before she could answer quickly.
The Seaman grabbed her arm then. "Would you stop touching me, wait a minute, I..." She started to say, just as Daniel rounded the corner, with Parker's arm around his waist then and she froze in shock. "Daniel?" she said and the guard closed the door as he walked over and flipped the sound proofed mechanism on the door. "She can have food, water and access to the medical department and showers, but otherwise now she is not allowed now."
"To leave this room, ignore her attempting to order you around, your orders come from me, Commander Barnes and Captain Henderson." he said and he nodded to the orders sternly then. "Yeah guys this is our shift so get ready, we have the first shift after Dallas does his own now." he said and they nodded, as they heard a remark. "Fire in the hole!" They heard as he looked out the window as a blast of bubbles went flying passed it then.
"Nice alert out there Dwayne, but was that really necessary?" Daniel said, tapping his communicator and they heard laughter and the trio nodded smiling in agreement. "You know the power blast out here Dan, just giving a heads up, but we're almost done here. So 10 hours and then we swap out, buddy." Frost said to him smiling then and as he looked up at the window with a smile on his face at that, as the ensigns were shaking in laughter at that.
"Alright all of you pull yourselves together, and son, what was that about out there exactly?" Haden asked and he nodded, as everyone started laughing at that. "We just arranged the grocery list here for this one when we heard that. But it was a good 30 yards away from the window we were next to at the moment, the wiseacre now. Called out, just as we were leaving the hall right now." he said and they nodded then.
"So you were checking on their progress right now, before a wiseguy back and forth, Cub." Henderson asked and he nodded, smiling. "Outdoor explosions underwater, they blew up the coral next to the airlock Uncle Brandon. But usual case for jokes and wise cracks, you know what a wise guy Bill and Wes are, Sir, Uncle Brandon. While Alex is preventing an injury by keeping it away from the engine." Daniel said and he nodded.
"Not to cut in Sir, Dan, but anyone check the temperature on the metal here right now." Ripley asked and they heard Frost answer that. "That's a negative Ellie, but if it's warm out here, has to be hot as hell in there." he said and Hudson said it with a bemused smile. "Yeah, man, Ellie, but it's a dry heat." he said and they sighed. "Billy, now's not the time right now, watch where you aim that welder." Henderson said to him gently.
Before they heard Apone answer that remark. "Yeah alright knock it off Hudson, we got work to do right now, and again, watch where you put that welder. Before you cut a hole through the fuel lines here you two, and Janette, again here. Once done with the explosives now, I want them coded so the newbie, doesn't have a way to arm it." he said and they knew she nodded and they nodded gently, smiling in relief then at the remark.
"We better help mom with the grocery list, if she's joining in right now, but she starts asking the 20 questions spiel that just make clear you know what she's thinking. But that the answer is no, and is always going to be no now." he said and they nodded as they headed for the galley, as they and Levy were preparing the grocery list then. Knowing things are going about normally for them as she sat on the couch waiting for the summons.
As she heard something over the ship P.A.'s system. "All units make your flight quarters..., condition one, stations for landing. Stay clear of the fantail..." She heard and then after 2 more hours Barnes came to get her, as he knocked on the door and then opened it. "Carter, you been here long?" he asked and she nodded, as she pulled on her jacket. "I've been here 3 hours, why am I being stonewalled here." she asked and he said he lead her out then.
"Hold on, we'll get to that." he said and she said it then. "I don't know who you are." he said and she said it then. "I know who you are." He said, remembering the last time they saw each other then, and knowing this was going to be a severe shock later then. "Who are you: Navy, Military, What are you?" She asked and he said it then. "You ever hear of the OSSA?" He asked and she nodded. "Yes." she says and he nodded as he answered her then.
"Here it comes, it's been 18 months and she never knew the person you become in that same 18 months, you're a commander of going on 6 years. A skilled swordsman, a top rate fighter and our best diplomat, bringing in more upgrades then we could possibly imagine. Look at what separation for 18 months resulted in, what we accomplished." Renfro said and he nodded. "They don't know who I am, that should reassure you." he said and then said it sternly.
"Hey look Lieutenant, you haven't talked to anyone about this?" he asked and she said it quickly, in trying to keep up with him then. "Yeah I talked to the Jack." She said and they heard a stern tone then. 'O'Neill again, that little bastard put her up into talking Danny into coming back, and the answer is still no, and will always be no.' They heard sternly to that news then and she went white, realizing mentioning him was a very bad idea then.
"What'd you tell him?" he said, his tone going firm, and she said it quickly. "What I tell him, I told him I was here to see what progress, Maynard made in our side: That's my job." She said in shock, realizing something was very wrong, if he was asking her that. "Research progress: Good." He said in relief then. "There was no research progress report." She said, realizing it and he nodded. "Spacecraft." he said and she nodded in understanding.
"Oh, a spacecraft, I guess that explains a lot: Goa'uld renegade?" she asked gently at that realizing the weapon worked, in knowing this tended to happen all the time now. And since the SGA found the chair. "That doesn't surprise you?" he asked her and she shrugged. "At least it explains the secrecy." she said and he nodded as he walked to her. "The secrecy's critical, Lieutenant: Daniel made that explicit in his report." he said to her then gently.
"What report?" she said, not understanding then. "ULF." he said and she froze in shock then. "The report that got Daniel transferred over to Haden, Daniel wrote that for the Bush administration, back in 1989." She said in shock, realizing the report hit the table finally then and he nodded, smiling then. "And that's our bible here, every jot and tittle, but do you recall the chief fact, it's been 18 months now, that how could I possibly know."
"In what was written down, or the fact that you deliberately disobeyed orders, but does this ring any bells." he said and read out Daniel's report then, remembering it worked beyond well for the SGA and their dealing with Pelops then. 'Missions in anthropology, entering a new state of development change from variation to variation. But must be met with extreme caution, because, food and drink can be drugged.'."
"Or worse, the culture is hiding some dangerous secret behind it now, that beneath that kind persona, conceals a threat. To both your soul and sanity, and entering combat situations, the stress reaction from what is to come, must be prepared. As having seen a variety of stress combat situations in the past, subjects must not think the job is useless, or the damage to the person's sanity will be the inevitable result.'."
"While officers attempting deep sea exploration, must train and understand the rigors of living underwater. As astronauts do being in the space station, the job comes with severe physical and emotional. Stress, and in order to stay strong, must train in the conditions set to the circumstances. Extraction teams dealing with traumatizing combat situations, must be prepared, for severe psychological side effects.'."
"Of that environment, as stress reaction when of studying that possibility has not been sufficiently studied. And can not be entirely predicted, in advance, but the most likely consequence, of contact, is absolute terror.'." he read out and Sanderson nodded and Jack swallowed hard, now realizing his distaste with science fiction. That was going to get him killed one day and nearly had three times in 8 months at the moment, since Simarka now.
"Only problem is your ignorance resulted in you being changed halfway as you never considered taking his opinion, or listening to his opinion till it's too late here. But if you forgot my face and my voice, I'm the commander that came with Brandon and Haden. When he got transferred from the SGC to SGA, but these missions are not a joke and this was part of that mission log since the program, in truth here now."
"Now, became public knowledge." he said and she said it. "But that was a report about a possible encounter with a new civilization or with an alien being." She said slowly, and he nodded, smiling. "You wanna come with me?" he said to her and turned and headed for the conference room and she swallowed. "Oh, boy." She said, now realizing what she got herself into then, as she saw the the trio, before seeing Henderson, Walker and the quartet.
"Hey Ted, 10 bucks says we find one on the ship." Walker said, smiling and Daniel chuckled. "Double or nothing, says we have it matching the movie." He said and Henderson looked between them. "Alright guys, I know you're taking dibs here, but I'm not taking that bet, if this completely matches up here." he said and they nodded. "Yeah alright down in front guys, settle down." Barnes added, smiling gently to that remark then.
As Daniel was sitting between Parker and Levy then with Henderson looking up to check on him, and Alexander smiled at the response. In seeing his arm across the back of Parker's chair, knowing he and the 7 had a beyond deep bond now. Being as he knew the quartet beyond well now, they were his adopted family. "Eric, how was sparring practice today." he added and he smiled. "He's getting better and better everyday." he said and they nodded, smiling.
As the cat sat on the char with his tail wrapped around his paws, and Renfro stroked his fur, and he started purring. "So what are you doing in here, you ball of fur, you." She asked and he meowed. "I came to listen to the report, before we prepare to go into the habitat at the moment." he said through a meow and they nodded with a chuckle gently. "Yeah well we never left you behind before, so why start now." Daniel said and he meowed in agreement.
"About three weeks ago, a ship laying fiber-optic cable between Tierra Del Fuego and Falkland Islands hit an obstruction. Cut this cable here clean as a shears, that Navy got interested, sent out a search ship, it turned out that what did it, was this." he said as he turned on the tape. "We took this with SLS: side-looking sonar, this is an aerodynamic fin longer than a football field, bigger than any known wingspan."
"This is the fuselage." he said and Daniel crossed his arms. "That's a hatak sized version of the cargo ships in size, but that's looking man made right now." he said and Barnes nodded gently then. "This is ultra-high-res SLS bottom scan, came in a week ago, there it is, buried under about 2 feet of coral." he said and Sam froze up. "Something's wrong
with that measurement: Pacific coral grows an inch a year." she said and Daniel said it.
"Are you a PH.D., in marine biology now, Lieutenant?" he asked and she froze. "Yeah that brought her up short, if she's trying to throw her weight around. She doesn't know what she's talking about, the ship landed a month ago and got stuck. There in the coral, after crashing 8 yards into it." Parker said and Sam swallowed hard. "You can set your watch by it, growing a half an inch every year, but that's the Pacific and Atlantic oceans." Parker said to this.
"That's right." Barnes said smiling, knowing the real expert knew this then. "So you're saying this spacecraft came from the year of, uh..." Sam asked and Walker completed the sentence. "That's 2065." he said and she finished that. "So you're saying this spacecraft crashed 65 years ago." she said and he shook his head. "No he's saying here right now, that it crashed a month and coming from 65 years into the future." he said to her then.
"That's impossible." she said and Daniel crossed his arms. "Oh right, like traveling back in time, is impossible, alternate realities, when did you become a cynic exactly. Then again, it doesn't surprise me here, every time you never see what I saw. You see it as impossible or drug related." he asked and she jerked at his remark, shaking then, realizing it was again, as she never saw it, she was trying to cast doubt on his findings once again then.
As Barnes said it then, gently. "It's not impossible if this spacecraft came from one of our colony ring, the idea is to determine which one here." he said then and she froze in shock. "Wait a minute, you think this is a spacecraft, if from one of the colony sun years into the future, it's not impossible, it's ridiculous." she said and he turned to look at her then. "Oh like finding those coordinates was ridiculous?" Daniel asked and she went pale the .
"You been out of action for 2 years now, and still never changed your opinion, this is not going down that road twice here, lieutenant. But you're here as it provides a change of scenery, but this doesn't mean anything. Or that I changed my direct opinion of you, or of Jack O'Neill now. And after you ripped my heart out 18 months ago, so can it right now." he said and she swallowed hard at his remark, realizing it then.
He still never let it go, or he was treating her with the type of respect she deserved, which was none at the moment, after she ripped his heart by delaying till the last minute. "Easy buddy, we understand, but just a single mission, one mission and only one. And everything goes back to normal for us now." Barnes said gently to him then and he nodded and as she froze and saw the irritated looks on the sextet's faces then and swallowed hard at the response.
"We think this ship is from one of our colony ring, that's why you're here, basing this on the Jackson report now, is we have a biochemist and marine biologist. To assess the physiology of any Unknown Life Forms on the ship at the current moment here. A mathematician, because that'll probably be our common language, an archeologist. To assess the time scale and language syntax of where it came from and finally now."
"Is we have an astrophysicist to locate its place in the cosmos." he said and she said it, looking at the firm look on Henderson's face then. "Led by a psychiatrist." she said and he nodded. "Right." he said as they heard a bemused mental tone coming from a purr next. "Here it comes, just can't resist making jokes over Brandon being a mind healing cat, in leading them right now." They heard then and MacGregor started laughing at that remark.
As they heard a real meow and he looked at the door. "Hey buddy, came to check on us?" he asked and he meowed as he walked over and jumped on the desk then, as they heard Walker's remark then. "So that's what the little green men are saying nowadays, 'Take me to your therapist?'." he asked and the others exchanged smiles, as Parker looked at Henderson as he gave her a smile, as he checked Sam's file. "Mm-hm." he said as Barnes answered that.
"Listen up." he said and read out the expansion of Daniel's report then, as Sam swallowed hard then, realizing they been using Daniel's report so much. The results were the findings were exactly that, over the last 18 months the SGC ops stopped. 'Contacts team missions in anthropology, entering a new state of development change from variation to variation.
As having seen a variety of stress combat situations in the past, subjects. Must not think the job is useless, or the damage to the person's sanity will be the inevitable result.'."
And can not be entirely predicted, in advance, but the most likely consequence, of contact, is absolute terror.'. That's from Daniel's report." he said and she stood up to get a better look. "Are these parameters correct?" She asked and he nodded to her. "Yup." he said and she quickly verified it to get it all then gently at that.
"You're saying that you have a spacecraft over a half a mile long, that crashed into the ocean, only a month ago and it's completely intact?" she said and he nodded then. "That's right and the kicker is our sonar is picking up a low-level hum, something's still running inside." he said to her then."Hold on, there's no way this coral could've grown faster than an inch a year?" She said and Parker nodded firmly as she said it then.
"No." she said and Daniel exchanged smiles with Alexander. "Yeah here it comes, she thought we'd be doing this, the way they made Titanic. But never we'd actually prefer going down there in perfect to check on it, see if it's still salvageable at the moment." Collins said and Henderson nodded as Alexander said it. "That's what we're going there to see, isn't it." He said and she froze in shock. "What, who says we're going down there?" she said in shock quickly.
"You got to be kidding, right, we been arranging to check this out after Alex and Ellie's team completed the tubing. And Nathan's team just completed their interim. It's our turn, as we investigate the interior of the ship." Parker said and she swallowed hard. "And therein lies the problem, I'm a water Cub, I prefer being on the water. But if you're afraid to that deep, now might a good time to pull out." Daniel said and she went pale.
Never estimating going down there in person, thinking they'd be running this via the computer monitor, not actually go down the rest of the way to check on it. "Lieutenant, that's a joke, right, this is the greatest scientific discovery since Copernicus. Bigger. The idea of how far we come in only 65 years, it'll change everything here of what we see. Physical evidence of extraterrestrial life: You don't wanna see that?" he asked her then gently.
"Well, I gotta say, I resent this briefing very much." Walker said and he sighed. "Oh Jeez." Alexander said, knowing the exact reason he was acting like this then. "And how's that, Eric?" Barnes asked, knowing why he was acting like this. "If Daniel's report calls for a biologist, archeologist, a mathematician, an astrophysicist. And a psychiatrist, then why are you here?" he asked, looking at her and she froze then, knowing he was onto her.
She only wanted into the diving program so she could try and convince Daniel to come back, but the answer was still no. "Physical protocols start in a half an hour, if you're coming, then you need to be checked out. As this is what you wanted, wasn't it, a chance to see what we found, but in doing that, is by going in person." Barnes said and she swallowed hard, never anticipating a live dive, she thought this was going to be computer surveillance.
But not a live dive, and now realizing what she signed up for here, it was then she realized that she was about to be stuck in a tin can that one thing went wrong, was going to implode. Or just explode. "You wanted into the space program didn't you, hmm?" Parker asked and she started shaking in fear. "Well astronauts are trained in 0-gravity, and there is no gravity underwater, unless you have the tank to keep you on the bottom of the ocean."
"That's why you're really here young lady, if you can manage this, you can manage in a space bound ship, but here's where space dementia got its name." Barnes and to her sternly to her as they ended the briefing on that, as Davidson ran her through it then. In just what the situation was going to be, as the debrief ended on that, as Daniel went to help Levy. In getting the supply list set up for the mission's groceries and medical supplies set up then.
"This'll be a saturation dive: You'll be going to a habitat in 1000 feet of water, now a sub will take you to the habitat and you'll transfer aboard. At 1000 feet, your body will be pressurized for that depth, that you could actually take a quick dip. As the pressure wouldn't bother you, although I wouldn't recommend it, because the water's so cold. That you'd freeze to death in less than two minutes that's the reason here now."
"And for the diving suits, now helmet has a rebreather for your air supply, and following this briefing, I'll take you to an on board dive tank. That for the next eight hours you'll train in deep-saturation dive techniques and emergency procedures. Once you've gone down 1000 feet, if you surface, you'll have to commit here now. And to several days of decompression." he said and she froze in shock, not realizing that part.
"How often does he do this exactly?" she asked and he explained that."Commander Jackson has done this another 30 times, since he got reunited with the Captain. But he's been doing this, since he was 13, the job is easy when you know what to do. But I need you to understand this next part right now, once you resurface now. Back on deck 60, you have to submit for 10 days of decompression now, as a result here."
"There is no real quick return to the surface, however, there is a mini-sub that may be used as an emergency escape vehicle. But there must be a ship at the surface to make to for decompression here now. Now without decompression, your body would literally burst, as the pressure is like carbonation Under these circumstances, you're very well-controlled, the dive has been planned well and professionally monitored now."
"Now this diving is going to take exactly 13 minutes, with you going from the ground floor, to the docking station with is the last 600ft…" he said and Daniel nodded. "Yeah she's starting to zone out, on that, that just figures, in forgetting the most important parts. To the training here." he said and Barnes nodded gently to that, as it just forward 24 hours then, as they saw her climbing down then into the sub at that, as Daniel looked at her then firmly.
"Sit anywhere." he said and she took the seat next to Alexander then, as Daniel was sitting next to Walker then, as Henderson was next to Barnes then in the cockpit at that. "The descent will take about 13 minutes, descending at 80 feet a minute." he said, flipping switches, as there was a shudder, followed by the water growing darker then. "It's going to get chilly, so try to relax." he said to her as he pressed the final button then at that.
And she sighed as she answered him then. "Next time, just tell us when you're going to push the button." she told him and as the quartet were discussing something she heard the co pilot checking perimeters then. "Descent Sub 1 to habitat, shows us at 200 feet." he said and Barnes nodded, as Walker looked at her. "How you holding up, Captain Nautical?" he asked and she said it shakily. "I'm loose." she said and he nodded then, as he repeated that.
"You're loose?" he repeated, knowing she was scared, but of what, he didn't know yet. "She hates deep sea diving, though why is beyond me at the moment." Daniel said and he nodded as she said it defensively, realizing he wasn't going to protect her secrets anymore. After what she did, with Jack's help at the time, he wasn't her team mate anymore. And therefore wasn't honored bound to protect her secrets. "I'm loose, I'm loose." she said to that firmly.
Before there was a slight jolt and admitted it then, as Henderson moved back to join them then, just as the jolt nearly knocked Henderson over and he guickly grabbed him then. "Come on, sit down, before you get knocked over, Brandon." Walker said as he took the seat next to him and Daniel and sat down then "I'm uptight." She said quickly and Daniel called out to Barnes at that. "We okay, Uncle Dave?" he said and he said it gently to him at the question then.
"Yeah we're fine son, and don't worry about it, we're in the river now." he said and she looked at him. "What river?" she said and he explained that to her."It's a temperature-salinity differential, it flows like a river inside the ocean. With us between the Antarctic and south-eastern pacific here." he said and she repeated that. "We're in the middle of the ocean, under the ocean, and there's a river." she repeated and he nodded.
"Yeah she's getting annoyed here, that we never told her this, before we did this dive, but there's their characterization for missions, throw them in and hope they float now." Barnes said and Henderson nodded in agreement, realizing this was the piece she had to learn. As Daniel had been doing this so much he was used to it, and once again she was the rookie. As she learned in on the job training. "Jim, Larry, are you monitoring." Daniel said into his com.
"Yeah we are, signatures are all in the green here, Dan, though your's is greenish yellow, so better relax man, okay." Jamison said and he nodded. "Agreed son, calm down, as this mission is only a change of scenery, not full time now." Henderson said and he nodded with a sigh, and she tried to control her uneasiness, realizing here they were worried. "What's that mean exactly." She asked and he explained that firmly to her then.
"Remember the life sign detectors that the Towani family was wearing on the movie." Henderson asked and she nodded and Daniel explained that. "The ship created them, for the teams, that bracelet you're wearing is the life signs tracker. In indicating in good health, so the monitoring is from green into red, red means bad here. Like seriously bad now, green is everything's fine, yellow is unconscious, orange in truth here."
"Code red medical emergency and is on the edge of death, red is your heart just stopped beating, and you flatlined now. So the teams can monitor each other's health now, when on missions and I never take mine off. Which this has been going on for 18 month so the guys, Vala and Karen. They know if and when I'm suffering a flashback or not." he said and she nodded in shock, never thinking this was good for psychiatric care too.
"That's right, and those are never taken off either when we're down here at the moment, understand." Barnes asked and she nodded shakily, realizing then here that this was a way to monitor each other, in case of trouble, and they been using it for 18 months. And they made it saturation proof from the gases inside the habitat now, as they heard metal creaking "Those noises we're hearing, that's normal?" she said and he nodded to her then gently.
And as he turned his head. "Those noises are the water pressure attacking the sub's integrity." he said and Daniel looked at her then. "You know a little something about that, don't you, Sam: How the pressure can attack your integrity." he asked and she sighed. "Come on, you be nice this trip." she said and he said it. "Were you nice last time, I mean what night and week, did you choose exactly?" he asked and she went pale then.
And Walker looked between them. "Point taken, but could you be anymore inconsiderate or rude, did you deliberately forget the date at the time. Or are your pathetic lives more important, then other people's feelings, their happiness. Or do only your lives and feelings matter." Parker said sternly and she swallowed hard, realizing choosing that night was beyond cruel and inconsiderate then, before something got Alexander's attention.
"Good question there, and I agree with you, son, Karen, what she pulled that night, was cold blooded, cruel and inconsiderate, this, from what George told me. Was not only your birthday party, but it was also your transfer full time to me. And her choosing that night now, is not only beyond rude, it's also saying they could care less about your birthday. Or your feelings right now at the time here." MacGregor said and Haden nodded in stern agreement at that remark then.
"Lord, what close to 3 weeks does to you right now, I never felt more at home here on the ship, or more part of the team now." Vala said and he and Teal'C nodded smiling in understanding then. "Yeah well I think we're the Milky Way version of John's unit with him and Rodney from Earth, and we meet his intergalactic members in a few years." Cam said and Daniel nodded. "And I'm not quick to anger, but a bit of a wise guy, as you say." she said and he nodded then.
"Like Catherine said, she's you, and I'm Owen, or to put it to our favorite crime comedy, you're Leslie, I'm Michael." Daniel said and she nodded with a chuckle. "And keep it up and you're going to get it, but a debate breaks out, and I'm taking the pillow to you, now can it already." Cam said and they nodded. "Indeed, I hear this enough from him and O'Neill already, before we been transferred, that I don't need to hear it from you as well." Teal'C said and she nodded.
"Was that what really happened 4 months ago, they tried to change the brass's mind, but the gauntlet got thrown, before you tore them both a new one?" She asked and he nodded to her. "Yeah needless to say after she tried it, Chris and Martin ejected her from the party, as we were talking, and none of us were ever more furious they chose that night to attempt it." Warren said and she nodded. "As you said, get over yourselves, deal!" she said to this news the sternly.
"My God, Daniel, look at this, look at this." he said and he turned to look out the window. "Jesus! That's just the fin, Ted, look at it, whatever the planet that created it, used to make it, over estimated the size, if it landed barely 47 feet directly below us." he said and Parker nodded smiling, as she and Walker looked out the other window then. And, as Sam saw the lower drive section, only the red lights signaled where it was, as she saw seals.
And orcas swimming near it. "That's the habitat, the Navy moved and set it up as a base, as we do salvages down here. It's manned by 2 naval personnel and will be your home away from home as we investigate the spacecraft." he said and she nodded. "It ain't the Motel 6." Alexander said, reading the look on her face then, as they arrived at the docking bay, as Fletcher checked the screen every few minutes as she called out to Renfro and Levy.
