A/N The Glory arc has so many problems, so many unanswered or even unasked questions, which should have been asked, but never seemed to have occured to any of the characters to even ask them. Rewriting reality on the order the Monks apparently did would take a massive amount of power. It affected hundreds, if not thousands, of people. They had to establish a history for Dawn, birth certificate, education records, the memories of teachers and neighbors, all had to be altered to accommodate her existence.

The Order of Dagon, according to the Buffy wiki, was established in the twelfth century, when did they become caretakers of the Key? The Knights of Byzantium claim to be an ancient order, not to mention, how did nobody notice an army of medieval knights numbering in the hundreds camped outside Sunnydale? How did they get there in the first place? Where did they come from? Where did their information come from? How did they even know the Slayer had the Key? They knew Glory was a Hell god imprisoned in a human body, a human created to be her prison. A mortal human whose life she was tied to, when he died, she would die. He appeared to be in his mid to late twenties and was well aware he was the prison for a Hell god. As a medical intern, he had access to drugs that could have painlessly ended his life and safeguarded the world. Something that apparently never occured to him as he mostly spent his time cleaning up Glory's messes.

Where did the Watchers Council get their information? They never explain nor do they indicate how old their information is.

The Scoobies were aware that their memories, their minds had been tampered with, why did it never occur to them to try to retrieve the original memories? To figure out just how much they'd been messed with? To protect themselves against other memory manipulation? Why did they forget about the Toth rod? How did Anya's ex-husband Olaf, imprisoned in a crystal, end up sent to the Magic Box with a weapon capable of injuring a god? Why did no one question the convenience of it?

The information Brother Michael gives the group pertaining to the Order of Dagon, it's founder and the Book of Tarnis can be found on the Buffy wiki.

Once back at Mason's home and Brother Michael had been given something to drink, he began telling his story. "The Order of Dagon was founded by a monk known as Tarnis." Michael told them. "He wrote a book known simply as the Book of Tarnis. A copy is in the keeping of the Watchers Council."

"Truly?"' Diana asked from the speakerphone on Mason's desk. "I'll contact them and request the copy. It may have information that can help us with this issue."

"It does." Michael agreed. "The Abbot told us, it contains knowledge of the Abomination and her origins, she's from somewhere else, but I was not given that information. My duties were to help guard the Key."

"They compartmentalized information." Mason surmised. "No one person, aside from maybe the Abbot, had the whole picture. This Abomination could interrogate all of you and each of you would have a piece of the necessary information. If even one of you got away from it, she wouldn't get a complete picture."

"And all you know is the Abbot told you he made a human to hide this Key in?" Faith asked. "Did he tell you anything about the human?"

"There wasn't time, the Abomination was attacking, my Brethren literally threw themselves between it and us as the Abbot ordered Brother Luca and I to flee." Michael answered. "He handed Brother Luca the Dagon's Sphere, he said it was the only means of protection we had, it was created to repel her. I don't even know when it was created or how."

"And you said he lost it?" Jesse stated. "Any idea where he might have lost it? How did you get to Sunnydale anyway?"

"The Abbot teleported us." Michael answered. "He may well have died just from doing that, the amount of energy necessary to teleport one person, let alone two, especially after performing the Magic necessary to create a human and send that human to you for protection -."

"But see, that's where your story hits a roadblock." Faith told him. "These monk guys haven't sent anyone to me. This is the first I've heard anything about this."

"If the person they sent to you never arrived, but the Abomination is still searching for the Key," Michael frowned thoughtfully. "The Key could have ended up anywhere, but the good thing about that is that she doesn't have it."

"What exactly is the Key?" Faith asked. "When it's not in a fleshy human wrapper, I mean."

"Energy that can break down barriers between dimensions." Michael answered. "It's purpose is to open the way between dimensions and the Abomination needs it to get back to her home dimension. She's been searching for it."

"And you guarded it instead of destroying it?" Jesse asked.

"Energy can't be destroyed, Jesse." Diana told him. "It can be shaped though and obviously someone shaped energy to create this Key. I need to get ahold of the Council and have the Book of Tarnis sent here right away. Brother Michael, we'll do our best to keep you safe. We can transport you to England, you'd have to fly since none of us have the power to teleport you, but we can get you out of the country while we deal with thevAbomination, as you call her. Is that satisfactory for you?"

"I've delivered my message, I will accept your offer."

"You have no information at all about the human these monks sent to me?" Faith asked.

"Just that it was sent to the Slayer for protection. Nothing more, I don't know the age or whether they're male or female, nothing. I'm sorry, it was breaking down the door to the room we were in, there just wasn't time."
