Ash Ketchum strolled through the bustling streets of Vale, his eyes wide with wonder. Pikachu sat perched on his shoulder, equally enthralled by the sights and sounds of the unfamiliar city. Ash had heard about the world of Remnant from Professor Oak's interdimensional research but never imagined he'd find himself here.
"Whoa, Pikachu, look at that!" Ash pointed to a sleek, futuristic airship soaring overhead.
"Pika-pi!" Pikachu chirped, its tail wagging with excitement.
As Ash admired the scenery, a blur of red zipped past him, causing a gust of wind to ruffle his cap. He spun around, only to see a young girl with silver eyes and a hooded red cape standing nearby, cradling a large scythe in her hands.
"Sorry about that!" the girl called out, her voice bright and cheerful. "Didn't mean to nearly knock you over!"
Ash grinned. "No problem! That was awesome! How'd you move so fast?"
The girl beamed. "Years of training and a little bit of Semblance magic. Name's Ruby Rose! And you are…?"
"Ash Ketchum from Pallet Town," Ash replied, extending a hand. "This is my partner, Pikachu."
"Pikachu!" the yellow Pokémon greeted with a spark of its cheeks.
Ruby's eyes sparkled as she leaned closer. "Oh my gosh, it's so cute! Is it, like, a Dust-powered pet or something?"
Ash laughed. "Nope, Pikachu's a Pokémon. We're from another world where Pokémon are everywhere."
Ruby tilted her head, intrigued. "Another world? Cool! Wanna hang out? I can show you around Vale."
"Sure!" Ash said eagerly. "Let's go!"
As they strolled through the marketplace, Ruby couldn't stop asking questions about Pokémon.
"So, wait, Pikachu can shoot lightning? Like, actual lightning?" Ruby asked, munching on a giant cookie.
"Yup!" Ash replied. "Pikachu, show her a Thunderbolt!"
"Pika!" Pikachu leaped off Ash's shoulder and unleashed a crackling bolt of electricity into the sky.
Ruby gasped, nearly dropping her cookie. "That's so awesome! Can I train one? Does it have a weapon too? Maybe a little scythe?"
Ash chuckled. "No weapons, but they can learn all kinds of moves. Maybe we can battle later!"
Ruby's competitive side flared up. "Oh, you're on! Crescent Rose and I never back down from a challenge!" She patted her massive weapon affectionately.
Their walk led them to an arcade, where Ruby's eyes lit up like a kid in a candy store. "You HAVE to try this game!" she exclaimed, dragging Ash to a dance machine.
"Uh, dancing's not really my thing," Ash said, scratching his head.
"Neither is it mine, but who cares?!" Ruby laughed, stepping onto the platform. "C'mon, Pikachu can join too!"
Pikachu hopped up with enthusiasm, and Ash reluctantly followed. The game began, and Ruby's quick reflexes made her an instant pro, while Ash stumbled to keep up. Pikachu, however, nailed every move, earning cheers from the crowd that gathered.
Ruby wiped her brow after the final round. "Whew! You've got some competition there, Ash. Pikachu's a natural!"
Ash groaned playfully. "Yeah, yeah, rub it in."
As they left the arcade, a Grimm—a Beowolf—appeared out of nowhere, growling menacingly.
"Stay back!" Ruby shouted, her scythe unfolding into sniper mode.
Ash stepped forward. "We can handle this together. Pikachu, Thunderbolt!"
"Pika-CHUUU!" Pikachu's lightning struck the Beowolf, stunning it momentarily.
Ruby grinned. "Nice! Let's finish this!" She dashed forward with incredible speed, slicing through the Grimm with precision.
As the creature dissipated, Ruby twirled her weapon and gave Ash a thumbs-up. "Not bad for a first Grimm encounter, huh?"
Ash laughed. "That was intense! You're amazing with that scythe."
Ruby blushed slightly. "Aw, thanks. You're pretty good too. I mean, Pikachu definitely carried, but you helped."
"Hey!" Ash protested, though he was laughing.
Later, the two sat on a bench overlooking the city, sharing stories about their worlds.
"So, you're a Champion, huh?" Ruby said, impressed. "Like, the best of the best?"
"Yeah," Ash said with a modest smile. "But I've still got a lot to learn."
Ruby grinned. "Same here. Maybe we can train together sometime. Crescent Rose could use a sparring partner, and I'd love to see more of your Pokémon in action."
"You've got a deal," Ash said, shaking her hand.
