'Alright, let's do this from the top.'
A girl in an orange and black spider costume jumps from the Empire State Building as she tucks her arms in to pick up speed from her descent. Her blazing feet and laurel wreath that magically stays on her head along with glowing like fire, leave a trail behind her as she falls. Just as she is reaching the hard concrete floor she turns her body and fires glowing webbing from her wrists towards the glass of another tall building and using the momentum of her descent with her swing to send herself flying through the air.
My name is Melinoe Kore, I was bitten by a radioactive/magic infused spider, and ever since the beginning of the summer, I have been New York's one and only, Spiderwoman.'
'My moth— ahem, teacher Hecate us the leader of a cult of witches, now I know that sounds bad but they are all genuinely good people, for the most part…
With magic and spider powers I've spent My summer saving the city from a multitude of threats.
We cut to various moments of Spider Woman's life, webbing up bank robbers, catching an entire armored truck with her webs from crashing into a crowd of people, swinging a bomb away from a public area, and even stopping an entire train by her lonesome, certainly a less than stellar work day…
Sometimes I wish that someone else would take my role as New York's protector but fate chose me so it's my responsibility to save people.
The job has been anything but easy, I've been hit more times this summer than I've been hit during my entire life. But I always get back up.
Cut to various shots of spider woman being beat up, getting kicked by a blind cyclops that was 3 times her size, getting blasted with electricity, and getting her eardrums blasted by a group of sirens.
'Because if not me, then who will?'
Spiderwoman swings off a building and the silhouette of her flipping past the moon with the trails of flames behind her as she swings towards her next adventure.
If there's one benefit to being Spiderwoman, it's the transportation.
The cloudy grey skies of New York aren't exactly the most pleasing to the eyes but it's home, what can you exactly do about it. If one looked closely they would likely see their friendly neighborhood Spiderwoman swinging from building to building but most of the time it's a blink and you'll miss it moment. It's due to this reason no one can get a good picture of Spiderwoman, even after a fight she's gone in the blink of an eye because cops aren't exactly a fan of a vigilante taking the law into their own hands.
So where is Spiderwoman going? Who knows, because Melinoe is heading to her first day in her senior year of high school and Spiderwoman just happens to be her ride to school. It's when she's making her way to school does her spider senses tingle telling her to look down, small time convenience store robbery. Wasn't that out of ordinary for New York and they never are too difficult to deal with, so Spiderwoman dropped down towards the convenience store ready to save the day.
She attached her web to a wall and used it to lower herself towards the open door as she spectates the situation while upside down. A tall man in a black hoodie, mask, and dark sunglasses yelling at the store owner to fill a bag with cash as they comply, looking more frustrated about the situation than afraid. The gunman certainly wasn't expecting a line of webbing to hit his back and pull him out of the store while ringing the door's bell along with it, the store owner seemed confused and stepped outside so he could see where the gunman went only to have a smile on his face seeing the work of Spider Woman. Her webbing had him dangling inside a cocoon of her own making, the convenience store bell rang once again as the store owner looked behind to see Spider Woman exiting his store, taking a sip of a water bottle.
"I trust you could tell the authorities what happened, say how much do I owe you for this?" She shook the bottle to show what she was referring to.
"It's on the house Spiderwoman, thanks for the save."
"Much appreciated!" She told him as she took a running start so she could get back to web swinging, the store owner waving to her as she passed.
Another person saved, now time for Spiderwoman to drop off Meli-
Her spider senses tingle once again to an ongoing police chase with an armored truck as Spiderwoman could hear the far away sounds of she has quite a bit of time before she's supposed to head to her first class, right? Doesn't matter if she does or not truly but she would like to be on time on her first day, first impressions are everything right? But enough of that, she has an armored truck to catch.
Spiderwoman makes a sharp turn by sticking against a wall and running across it almost as if gravity had little to no effect on her before she sends herself flying across the sky with a webswing. The person driving the truck seemed to care little about the pedestrians in their path as some people had to dive out of the way so as to not get hit by the truck that was both speeding and running various red lights. But that didn't mean Spiderwoman didn't help various people out of the way who either weren't paying attention or were too slow to get out of the way, it was days like these where she was thankful for the spider's ability to grant her faster reaction speeds, she wouldn't know how many people would have been severely injured or lost their lives from the recklessness of this driver, not to mention the hundreds more that could have died from her other patrols through New York.
What was the most safe way to deal with a 6 ton armor truck, well obviously you cling to the front and use your webbing to lock the tires. It's situations that involve feats of strength that Melinoe hates the most, feeling her feet break apart the asphalt hurts unlike anything you could imagine. It took a full minute of trying to get the armored truck to stop before Spiderwoman could finally catch her criminals and they could barely even put up a fight as Spiderwoman tossed them both out and stuck them to the floor. A Stark Industries truck? Whatever could these two possibly want from a tech corporation? Well guessing by the truck it must be something extremely important but Spiderwoman doesn't have time to investigate she's in a ru-
"Spiderwoman, help!"
Blasted…
1 Whole Hour Later
'Blood and darkness, blood and darkness, blood and darkness!'
A cat stuck in a tree.
Two potential car accidents
Some sort of armadillo villain on the train tracks looking for a fight? Melinoe still doesn't understand who or what that person was.
Turns out everyone just decided to be in trouble all at once and Melinoe was going to be very late. It was already 9:30 am, and something tells her that this is going to become a very recurring problem throughout her final year at Visions Academy. Thank gods for magic, all it took was a simple chant for her to go from her Spiderwoman to her academy uniform, she forced herself to wear a sweater over her uniform as her spider strength not only caused her to grow several inches but become more bulky, she prefers to blend in with the crowd rather than become the center of attention.
Dashing through the hallways of her school Melinoe desperately looks for her classroom among what felt like the practically endless school; to be fair it was fairly big, spanning two blocks in total along with entire dormitories. Thank goodness they were able to convince the school not to force Melinoe to stay at the dormitory unlike most students who attend the prestigious academy, not only for her duties as a witch but now as Spiderwoman it would be quite difficult to keep that secret hidden with a roommate.
"616… 616… 616… there!" Melinoe rushed to her classroom and cautiously opened the door so as to not draw attention to herself but it didn't seem to work.
"Nice of you to finally join us ." Melinoe could feel the collective stares of everyone in her class as the teacher pointed her out.
"Please forgive me, I had a lot of trouble making the commute today. I promise it won't happen again." Melinoe made a pleading gesture trying to gain any amount of sympathy.
"Don't make promises you can't keep, everyone's late from time to time. Just so long as you don't make a habit, now please sit beside so I may continue."
Melinoe looked to her left at the only empty seat in the class, a keen eye would have noticed how Melinoe clutched her books tighter and a how flush form in her face. Nemesis Night, tall, impressive muscles, golden eyes that are intimidating in a good way, her usual purple mascara that matches her so well, gods she could just go on and on about everything she liked about Nemesis. Though she will admit that sometimes she could be brutally honest and her words could hurt like barbs, but she just can't help but have butterflies in her stomach when thinking about her, Melinoe shuffled between the desks to reach hers beside Nemesis. When the secret superhero sat down Nemesis looked her way, almost immediately noticing something was different about her as she didn't have to look down at her as much as before. Nemesis whispered "You hit a growth spurt or the gym? You were much smaller a few months ago."
"Oh, well I… guess it's a little bit of both?" Melinoe shrugged as she awkwardly smiled at Nemesis hoping she would believe it.
"Huh, you're looking good, keep up the good work." Nemesis nodded before putting her attention towards the front of the class.
Melinoe felt like she was going to melt in her seat from the praise "Thank you." she whispered, thankfully Nemesis couldn't see how flustered she was.
The academy allows students to go outside to grab lunch, this is where Melinoe meets up with her two best and only friends on the corner of one of the school buildings who unfortunately had different schedules than her so she didn't have time to see them throughout the day, but what's this? Spiderwoman delivered some personal pan pizzas from their favorite pizza place all included with their favorite toppings to celebrate Melinoe and her friends reaching their senior year? How thoughtful of her, and wouldn't you know where her friends are right now!
Dora has been Melinoe's best friend since she was in elementary, she's a green haired girl on the shorter side who's also a bit chubby. She's a big fan of horror movies and hopes to be a director someday and while Melinoe believes in her, Dora isn't exactly the best at being motivated or driven and she tends to not have the best memory when it comes to stuff she doesn't particularly care about. Melinoe has had to bail her out of failing quite a bit by now but she'd gladly do it again because Dora has always been there for her and while it doesn't seem like it she's smarter than people give her credit for.
Now walking beside her was a taller yet skinny boy with white straightened hair that spills onto his gnarled horns. Moros and Melinoe met as freshmen in Visions Academy, the two met during a school project and safe to say… it was stressful. Moros isn't exactly the luckiest person around and fate seemed to have given the two many hiccups during their time working together, they both were barely able to hand in their assignment on time and completed. He's really sweet when you get to know him, despite his self-deprecating attitude that bad things happen whenever he's around, despite Melinoe and Dora telling him that it's nothing but superstition. Oh and it just so happens Nemesis is his sister so that's certainly another plus whenever she gets the courage to one day ask Nemesis out, eventually, definitely this year, totally, yup.
"What's good Mel, one more year of this crap then we're free for the rest of our lives." Dora greeted her best friend.
"I doubt that we'll be 'free' with college and our future careers, Dora." Moros corrected.
"Ugh you sound like my dad. 'You gotta plan for your future blah blah blah' man i wish i could nap all day instead of having to worry about future stuff."
"The future will be fun Dora, this is only the beginning of our lives and while it might be hard, we just have to keep moving forward. Now enough talk about our future, I'm sure we're all hungry." Melinoe handed out the personal pan pizza boxes to her friends. "Let's enjoy the time we have now."
"Mel I fucking love you." Dora said ever so calmly as she didn't hesitate to start devouring her own slice.
"Mushrooms and chicken, thank you for remembering my favorite toppings but you didn't have to do this for us." Moros bashfully replied.
"But she should absolutely do it again." Dora said with a mouthful of pizza.
"I just thought, what better way to celebrate our final year in high school than with something we could all bond over." Melinoe smiled as she opened the pizza box.
"Wait a minute, how did you get these pizzas here so fast? Isn't Hestia's a 20 minute walk from here, not to mention the fact they are still hot meaning that they were fresh from the oven, and we just finished our morning classes 10 minutes ago, how did they get here so fast?" Was it ever mentioned that Moros was going to become a journalist
"W-Well… I had it delivered?" By technicality it wasn't wrong, the Spidereats app had the best and only delivery girl around, gets your order in 10 minutes or less.
"When did you have the time to order that?"
"I scheduled it of course."
"Relax horns." Dora said and in turn unintentionally saved Melinoe from more questions. "It's free pizza, who cares how she got it?"
"I suppose so, great thinking Melinoe, I truly am grateful." Moros nodded before digging into his pizza.
Hestia's served the best pizza in all of New York(at least in her opinion) and her go to choice has always been a pizza topped with red onion, sun dried tomatoes, basil, mushrooms and spinach, delicious as always. Plus the lady who owns the store, Hestia(who could have guessed) was a sweet older lady who was very comforting and caring to her customers. She's a joy to talk to whenever she's available.
"So what are you gonna do when you get out of here Mel?" Dora popped the question.
"Yeah, you've never mentioned what career you wanted to take before? I mean you're smart and committed enough where you can practically get a job anywhere but what are you passionate about?" Moros also questioned.
Good question, now a good friend would tell them that she plans to be a witch and potentially a full time Spiderwoman (the jury is still out on that one) for the foreseeable future. But unfortunately there's two problems with that, first of all Hecate forbids her from speaking to those about Witchcraft who aren't trusted, a witch, or someone who deals with the mystic arts. Second of all, she prefers to keep the identity of Spiderwoman hidden for as long as possible, not only is Spiderwoman a vigilante but spending your time stopping criminals gains you a lot of enemies who would gladly use your loved ones as a means to get to you. So what does Melinoe do? "I'm… not too sure yet, I guess I haven't found my passion yet?"
"Eh, you'll find it one day."
"I agree but do try to figure something out soon."
"Yeah I'll try…" Melinoe looked down at her food as she took another bite.
Her head began to ache as Melinoe's spider senses were tingling, a loud boom was heard as nearly everyone in the area jumped in surprise. Explosions in New York never mean anything good unless it's a firework show, Spiderwoman needs to help but melinoe needs to figure out a good way to slip away unseen. "You two, go inside now, hurry!"
"Hey, you don't gotta tell me twice." Dora casually walked back inside along with the rest of the panicking student body. Knowing her, she probably loved the sound of screams and sees it as inspiration for her future horror flicks.
"What about you Melinoe?" Moros asked in concern.
"I'm gonna help people get inside, just go Moros." Melinoe demanded of him, certainly taking a little confidence from Spiderwoman. She dashed away leaving Moros with little room for argument as he questioned to himself where did this sudden bravery come from?
Elsewhere…
"Remember Vulture, this is a snatch and grab job. You snatch the arc reactor from the Stark Industries truck, then book it. The cops shouldn't be too much of a problem but without a doubt Spiderwoman will be an issue so don't focus on fighting, just fly." An intimidating voice spoke over an earpiece into a woman's ear as she sat on top of a building. She was dressed in a very colorful aviator bomber jacket that was specially designed to fit with her black wings, she had a custom made ammo belt that had a special golden apple buckle, her grey buzz cut hair adorning her aviator goggles, and by her side was her trusty gun the Adamant Rail.
'Vulture' as she was referred to had just finished a bag of cyclops jerky and tossed it behind her with little care for where it ended up. She put her hand to her ear piece to talk "Relax Al, I'll get ya little reactor. But you're asking a lot not to let me fight Spiderwoman, I live for the fame babe!"
"You will do as I say if you want to live at all. My client is paying top dollar for that Arc Reactor so don't screw this up. You finish this job, and you'll be living like a queen."
"No problemo Hammy, you can count on me!" Vulture spoke as she spotted the exact Stark Industries truck she was supposed to steal from and right on time too. She took her finger off the ear piece and picked up her gun, setting It to explosive mode. "Come to momma."
BOOM!
A perfect shot to the back of the truck sent the vehicle briefly flying forward and blowing the door off its hinges, the truck landed on its side with a sickening screech of metal sliding across the road. The driver is probably fine, right? Eh, she isn't paid enough to care about people, only about the power source. Vulture flew down from her perch spot and glided down towards the truck, it's supposed to be some sort of glowing blue thing that's gonna be used to power some big machine, she didn't really listen to the briefing only to the part about it being blue.
Scrouging around the truck she does happen to find two blue things, a fancy blue glowing piece of technology that she could totally use as a hockey puck, and a glowing blue cube that she does not have a good feeling about. The feathered thief didn't really know which one to grab so she just took them, one of them had to be the right one and the other she could keep on her desk as a little trophy of sorts. Now here comes the hard part, getting away from that Spiderwoman but who can keep up with Vulture, right? Stepping out of the truck you wouldn't believe who showed up to stomp on her parade.
"I don't believe that belongs to you madam, put it back where you found it before I have to pluck your wings." Spiderwoman landed right in front of Vulture as the thief had a smug smile on her face.
"Straight to the point huh? I like your style Trouble, but I'm just a working class girl just doing her job, is there something wrong with me just trying to do my job?"
"There is when it involves the danger of others and when the job involves taking stuff that doesn't belong to you."
"Then why don't you go after the government for taking stuff that doesn't belong to them from foreign countries?"
"I…um… that's not the point right now!"
"Haha I win!" Vulture took to the skies quickly flying away from the scene after her small victory of Spiderwoman "Catch me if you can Trouble!
"Get back here!" Spiderwoman's webs clung onto a building as she began to swing towards the Vulture in pursuit of the flying thief.
"Let's dance Trouble!" The Vulture manically laughed as she flew backwards while firing her gun at Spiderwoman who was a much harder to hit target than she looked, you try hitting a fast and nimble target while flying at high speeds. Spiderwoman was closing in to the point where she could shoot her webs onto Vulture, it took a few attempts but third time's the charm as Spiderwoman stuck Vulture's foot as she planted herself to a nearby rooftop where she tugged as hard as she possibly could.
The Vulture had the air knocked out of her system with a hard gut punch that physically sent her flying back, never in her life has she ever been punched that hard and her brain now realizes that she has to take this situation seriously. Vulture swapped the Adamant Rail's fire mode to shotgun style and just as Spiderwoman was about to pull Vulture back for another punch, she was blasted by every single bullet of the Adamant Rail and was sent tumbling across the rooftop. Thankfully for Spiderwoman, the Adamant Rail didn't shoot actual bullets and instead energy blasts(much less expensive than bullets) so while immensely powerful, she didn't have her whole torso blown used this time to get a headstart on her escape as with a flap of her wings she began to soar once more.
Spiderwoman had turned on her stomach as she stood back up with a few coughs. "Blood and darkness… I need a better way of catching her"
Vulture was catching her breath as she spent more time using her wings to glide rather than fly. Her earpiece began to ring as she picked up the call and over the line her boss would talk to her "Status report, Vulture."
"I got your power source but holy fuck does that girl hit hard. Why didn't you tell me she had super strength?!"
"If you did any research on her, you would have known. That monster could stop a whole train by her lonesome."
"Whatever, I shook her off so tell fire foot to meet me at our little rondevu point so we can- SHIT!" Vulture was cut off when Spiderwoman landed directly onto her back. "The hell are you doing Webhead, piss off!"
"Apologies but you can't just shoot me in the chest and get away with it!" Spiderwoman kept Vulture's torso in a leg lock as she began to web up her wings making her unable to fly. As they began to plummet to the ground with Vulture screaming the most foul obscenities she could possibly conjure before they swung towards an alleyway where Spiderwoman proceeded to web her culprit in a cocoon of sorts. Now is probably a good time to question why two Stark Industries trucks were raided on the same day. "So what exactly should I refer to you by?"
"Call me Vulture babe, you wanna know how I got it?" The webbed up woman asked.
"I would, but I have more important questions to ask you, such as why did two Stark Industries trucks get raided on the same day? What exactly are you after?"
Vulture shrugged "Probably a coincidence, really I'm just looking to get paid, babe."
"Who exactly is buying your stolen tech?"
"Someone who'll buy it, stupid."
"I mean what's their name?" Spiderwoman begins to sound frustrated.
"Dunno, my memory is fuzzy after you probably shattered a bone when you landed on my back, fatty." Vulture says with a smug shit eating grin.
"I'm not- stay on topic!"
"What are we talking about again?"
Spiderwoman lets out a groan of frustration as she begins to pace herself back and forth, this is going nowhere and it's clear that Vulture won't give her answers anytime soon. She doesn't have all day to play her games as she has to head back to school soon since lunch break is nearly over. The best choice probably just hand her over to the police so Melinoe could continue her day. But what to do about her stolen goods? She could probably just swing by Stark Tower after school to return whatever Vulture stole.
After pulling down Vulture who was still encased in her cocoon just now with her mouth webbed shut (thank gods) she planned to stick her to a light post until the authorities let her down to take her away. First she should pocket that Arc Reactor from Vulture's bag, it's an interesting piece of technology but she doesn't really know what it does since tech isn't a strong suit of hers, magic is. What to do about this cube though? It certainly doesn't look like technology so what does a tech company plan to do with it because her gut instinct is telling her to take it back to the witches so they could see what it does, her spider sense also began to tell her that somebody is watching her.
Spiderwoman quickly turned around and began to examine the area but no one was there, not even a rat. Just as Spiderwoman turned around to face Vulture again, a fist manifested in front of her face that hit her with the force of a truck. She was dazed by the blow but still on her feet, but that was quickly changed as she was punched into a wall, visibly making cracks. She couldn't help but let out groans of pain as she stared at the one who attacked her. Their suit was a blood red and jet black with a matching mask to boot, two large gauntlets that had sharpened metal claws, and a familiar sigil on his chest. That was all she could examine before getting a flurry of punches to her torso including qn uppercut to the jaw, she could have sworn she heard a couple of ribs crack from the pain as it all happened so fast. Her body began to fail her as she threatened to faint, but the mystery villain's gauntlet kept her up as he was about to finish her off.
She couldn't risk her identity being known or worse, her life ending here. With the last bit of remaining strength she could muster she pushed the villain away and casted her return spell. "Return to shadow now!"
Hours later…
Melinoe felt the soothing healing magic of her tent tend to her wounds. Melinoe would open her eyes as she felt the fabric of her witch attire cling to her body, and as she felt her scorching feet touch the ground, the sound of a croak echoed behind her as Melinoe turned around. This was her pet Frinos, he was a giant toad that was about the size of a small dog (pug or corgi sized), it was the closest thing she had to a therapist as she would often confide with the amphibian about her problems.
Melinoe pet the sides of Frinos as he croaked happily "Just who was that man…? I let Vulture get away too…"
"Come here Melinoe." The stern voice of her mot‐ teacher echoed throughout her tent. Her silhouette standing at the entrance of her tent as her large hat makes her too tall to enter. "Let us talk outside."
"Yes Headmistress." Melinoe responded as she walked out of her tent, her feet creating a scorched imprint of her foot on the grassy floor that quickly faded away.
This was her home, the Crossroads, where the Unseen gathered. This was essentially their homebase, witches often came to talk, recieve jobs, buy ingredients from each other or the broker, or relax by the taverna or fishing pier. Right in the middle was The Cauldron, specifically Hecate's cauldron and only those given permission are allowed to use it which has in the 20 years of the Crossroads' existence, has been restricted to Melinoe and a select few others.
"Melinoe, would you like to explain why, not only did you come back from school early, but also come back with several broken ribs and a concussion?" The head-witch's expression was impossible to read behind her veil, Melinoe could never tell when she's disappointed or worried because she never is seen without it and her tone of voice hardly shifts to convey her feelings.
"A situation required Spiderwoman and it was being well handled some mysterious person arrived."
"Details Melinoe."
"Around lunch break I was with Dora and Moros, we were conversing until I heard an explosion not too far from us. As Spiderwoman I went to handle the situation, it was a robbery of a Stark Industries truck caused by a woman calling herself 'Vulture'. She had a buzz cut and wore a lot of colorful clothing, also seemed to have two black wings but I'm not sure if she's a mutant or not because she looked human."
"Black wings…? Interesting, how come your rogues gallery seems to consist of a plethora of animal themed villains?"
"You noticed it too, right? I don't particularly understand them myself but I am the one named after an arachnid."
"Indeed, continue your story."
"Yes Headmistress, after some rather annoying banter and getting shot in the chest (not by actual bullets thankfully), I caught Vulture and tried questioning her but I couldn't squeeze anything out of her. Just as I was going to bring her to the authorities there was a man who came from nowhere. He wore black and red while using gauntlets with sharpened claws, he was unnaturally quick and I was barely able to last minute against him before I needed to recall back here."
"What of the stolen goods?"
"Safe in my Spiderwoman costume, well at least one of the two stolen goods. I planned to head to Stark Tower to return it."
"You may return it tomorrow, you are to rest so the healing wards could bring you back to perfect health." There was little room for argument when it came to Hecate, most decisions were final unless the universe forced her hand. It's not like she needed to return it right this second anyhow. "You're foes seem to becoming stronger Melinoe, I haven't seen you this battered and bruised since that blind cyclops incident."
"I apologize for worrying you Hecate, I promise I will be more careful next time I head out."
"I will need more than just promises, I need results. You're growing, not in the way I imagined but growing nonetheless. You're no longer a child anymore but a woman, a powerful one at that. Starting tonight your training will be intensified, if you aren't ready to handle the criminal world's many dangers I fear the worst will come from my negligence to properly train you. I have already informed you're school of your absence by claiming a family emergency, rest now and we shall begin your new training at midnight."
"Yes Headmistress." Melinoe saluted and went back to her tent, looking to get dome sleep after the day she had so she could properly heal up. But of course one thing always catches her eye every time she enters her tent, the only family photo of her entire family together…
Hecate told her that a powerful evil took them away from her, and while she never got to know them well or even talk to them. She feels attached, almost as if a piece of her heart was missing without them there (along with many other pieces). She only wishes Spiderwoman was there to help them, to change fate by stopping that evil who took them from her. But time doesn't go back or stop, it only moves forward and so does she. Melinoe doesn't cry anymore about their deaths but she constantly wishes to get to know them.
Would they be proud of her for pursuing witchcraft?
Would they approve of her being Spiderwoman?
Maybe her brother would, Hecate did say he was the rebellious but kind type that always did care for others while defying father. Just what was he like?
Elsewhere…
Vulture was strapped to the back of a motorcycle being driven by the red and black villain that had previously caused Spiderwoman to retreat with some sort of magic. He parked his bike beside an office building where he finally got off and cut Vulture loose from her webbing restraints including the mouth web. She stood up on the pavement with her wings still being full of webbing and furious was putting her anger "Goddamn what took you so long, Prowler?! My nose was itching the whole damn ride and I couldn't scratch it!"
"You were gonna annoy me the whole ride back, Spiderwoman really did me a favor shutting you up." Prowler's true voice was hidden by a voice modifier, Vulture has never heard the guy's real voice before but it would probably ruin the intimidation factor if she ever did. "Come on, the bosses wanna see us. The deal will be going down soon and we're already late, you got the Arc Reactor right?"
Vulture began to feel her heartbeat increase as she vividly remembers Spiderwoman taking it in front of her eyes. "Y-Yup I got it!"
"Good, as much as you annoy me I would rather not have you or your siblings on my hit list now come on, we got business to take care of."
Author's Notes:
So hear me out, this idea sounded really fun in my head because I've been playing the fuck out of Marvel Rivals and it led me to watching Spectacular Spiderman.
Now I love Spiderman and Hades 2 is my (soon to be) favorite game of all time so the gears in my head turned plus with the advice of my best buddy (my goat) I came up with the concept and I was able to write a full chapter so I'll see how this goes.
Some notes that I probably won't explain in story:
1. Hecate knows about Spiderwoman. You really think Melinoe would be able to keep her spider powers a secret from Hecate? When you live with a witch who's whole group is to remain unseen, there's not much of a problem with telling Hecate about her powers.
might have been able to piece that Eris is Vulture. I originally wanted to make her Venom but after thinking on it for a bit I came to a better conclusion on who should have the symbiote, and realistically there was no way I was gonna make this fic without Eris in it so who would be a better fit for her other than Vulture?
3.I brought up Stark Industries during the Spiderwoman scenes. Will this be important? Not at the moment but later, most likely. Iron Man much less Tony Stark will not be making an appearance any time soon.
's webs are magic. They work off mana like in the game and I plan to use the arcana cards to give her buffs over the course of the story.
That's all I got to say for now so please tell me what you think, bye bye.
