Chapter 4: Fallen
Darkness.
That's all I saw.
Absolutely nothing.
But that's when I realized- My eyes were closed. I opened my eyes, and still saw nothing except for a white light behind me. I turned around and remembered what happened.
Behind me, Jumbo Josh was on the ground, covered by the elevator. Z3NITH was lying on the ground awake, but…
"MIKU!" I saw her sticking out from underneath the elevator. I ran over and tried to pull her out. Z3NITH dashed over and helped me. We managed to pull her out from underneath. I stared at her, white faced.
"Z3NITH, Is she…"
He reached down and put his hand to her neck. With a look of relief on his face, he pulled back his hand. "She's alive. Barely." I sighed. "Thank god."
We dragged her through a large hallway and into a big room. The room had one bridge, 3 doors, and one deep death pit."Which way do we go?" I asked Z3NITH.
"Wait here." He said, and then he floated off. 2 minutes later, he came back. "We have to go straight."
I pressed a few buttons on the control panel. The bridge moved to the right, and we headed forward. We decided to rest for a bit.
Suddenly, a voice boomed on the speaker. "Hello? Can you hear me?"
I gasped. Finally, we found someone alive. And they were not a monster!
"Yeah, we can hear you!" I cried. "Great," Said the voice. "I need you to do something for me. Something is going on in the engine room downstairs. I can't go in there. I'm stuck in this room until everything is fixed. I also don't have a keycard, but I know how to get it. The desks in front of you need to be pressed in a certain order. Get them, and you can go into the engine room. Can you do that?"
Only being on 'Something is going on' and freaked out by being asked a question, I said yes.
"Great. I'll see you on the other side." Then, silence. Z3NITH and I headed over to the desks. "Okay, what do we do?" I asked. Z3NITH answered, "Maybe that chart has something to do with it?"
I looked over, and there was a chart on the wall. It looked like a thermometer, and had different names with the desk colors on them. "Oh! I know what we have to do! We have to press the buttons from the bottom of the chart to the top!" We got to work.
Later, we finally got the keycard and heard Miku waking up. "Oh, my head."
"Hey Miku, how are you doing?" I asked. "Fine," she replied, "But my leg really hurts. I looked at her leg, and saw a huge, gnarly cut on her knee. "Yikes. That looks bad."
I reached into my knapsack and pulled out another bandana. I tied it around Miku's knee. "There. All better?" Miku didn't answer. She was looking at me, completely flustered. "A-are you okay?"
"Huh? O-oh yeah. I'm fine."
"Great, Let's get going."
We walked over to the door, used the keycard, and descended down into the engine room.
