"Mister Naofumi, you're thinking something rude again, aren't you?" Raphtalia admonished me.

"Hi there Filo!" I said to Filo, approaching her with a wide smile.

Filo blinked. "Boo! Papa's thinking something mean again! And that smile doesn't suit Papa at all!"

Drat- did everyone around me have mind-reading powers? And what did she mean by 'again?' And what did she mean that the smile didn't sui-

"-no, we just wanted to know if you wanted to help us out with something," Raphtalia said, which was received far better than what I had said, though to be fair when she said it it did sound actually nice. "I'm going to do something called a livestream. Would you like to pose for the camera with me?"

Filo tapped her chin and said, "Okay! But first, Filo's hungry."

"Oh, what do you want to eat Filo?" Melty asked. "KFC? Burger King? McWendy's?"

"We have McWendy's at home," I said pointedly- knowing that I would be the one paying for the meal. "Also you know that just because she appears in a bunch of KFC ads doesn't mean that she actually likes eating at KFC, right?"

"Yah!" Filo said, unperturbed by what I had said. "Papa's cooking is the best!"

I then realized I had fallen into a trap- I was going to have to make food for everyone.

"Alright," I told her. I looked in the cabinets- with the extra people we had, it was no good. "I'm going to need to get some things first then."

"Ah, Mister Naofumi," Eclair said, whipping out her phone. "It is of no worry, I can get groceries delivered here within half an hour. I would hate if we continued to inconvenience you all any further."

'Just how loaded were these people?' I thought to myself. "Nah, it's okay, I would like to get a breath of fresh air."

"Is that so? Well then, let us accompany you."

I told them it was not necessary- in reality, I had been planning to leave the house to get away from everyone and to finally get some peace and quiet (either that or become the kind of father who left for milk and never came back) but once Eclair said so Filo began insisting on tagging alongside us and so naturally Melty came too.

"Melty-sama! Please don't drift too far!" Eclair protested. Eclair was holding onto Melty's hand, much to the Violette's protest as she wanted to follow Filo. And Filo had a habit of dashing around into the crowd and gawking at anything which even vaguely interested her, oftentimes meaning that we lost her.

"Filo! Come back here!" Both Raphtalia and Melty called simultaneously.

Filo ran away uncaring for what the others were saying.

"Something smells amazing," Filo said.

She ran up near a bakery shop. I could smell the scent of newly made pastries as well. No doubt that's what attracted her to it.

She bounded up to the counter and the man behind the counter took a look at her and said, "Herro, can you help me?"

He said all of this in broken English, likely believing that Filo, based on her features did not understand Japanese. Even I, with my limited understanding of English, was sure that he had made a mistake in saying 'can you help me?' when he probably really meant 'can I help you?'

He seemed to be a bit shocked when FIlo answered in perfect Japanese (or at least, 'perfect' considering her level) "Filo would like one of those!"

She pointed to a chocolate crepe.

The man seemed unsure of how to respond given that Filo wasn't talking in English and instead turned his attention to Melty, who had just caught up to Filo. "And what about you, Little Miss?"

"I would like whatever Filo's having!" Melty exclaimed. I snorted at this but aside from a tiny side-eye she shot me Melty didn't seem to notice.

"Don't eat too much, or you won't have any room for lunch," I admonished them. "Raphtalia, Miss Eclair, anything I can get you? Perhaps an-"

"-if you're going to ask me if I want an eclair, just don't," Eclair said. "Ah, I really don't want anything."

Raphtalia was eyeing something on the menu but didn't say anything. "Do you want an apple pie?"

"Uh-, no, I mean uh... yes... how'd you guess?" she asked.

"Oh, I just saw your tail wagging when you were looking at it on the menu," I told her.

"I don't have a tail, Mister Naofumi," she said with a pout.

"I guess I can just read minds then," I told her. She was honestly so obvious with how she was looking at it was impossible to not notice. "And oh yeah, nothing for me by the way."

We sat down to enjoy our sweets in peace- those of us who had ordered some, that is. I eyed the vending machine in the corner of the shop and decided to get a can of coffee, after asking her, Eclair said that she was fine with getting one as well.

"Is that coffee?" Filo said, now distracted from her crepe as she eyed my drink.

"Yes, and before you ask, no, you can't have some," I told her. She already seemed to have the energy of three toddlers, so I did not want to witness what she would look like high on caffeine.

"Boo!" Filo said.

"Relax Filo, I don't think you'd like it," Melty told her. "I tried a sip once and it was very bitter... I don't get how people drink it to be honest."

"Eww, yuck then," Filo said. "Filo doesn't want your nasty drink anyway!"

"Yeah, well I was never offering it to you in the first place!" I told her.

"My gosh, must you make this kind of noise? There are other people here besides you, y'kno," someone behind me said. I turned around and was about to mouth out an apology when the dude I was looking at suddenly flinched.

I wasn't sure why- but it looked like this guy recognized me from somewhere.

"Hey- it's you!" he screamed, his expression of mild annoyance turning into one of shock, pointing a finger at me.

"It's rude to point," I told him. "And who exactly are you and how do you know me?"
