The sound of the alarm clock began beeping on Mirabel's nightstand as it was saying it was five o'clock. Mirabel stopped her alarm as her eyes were still closed and let out a yawn. Letting out a stretch, Mirabel slowly got out of her bed and starts getting ready. Once she did and got her glasses on, she starts exiting her room and walking down the hall, straight towards the lab.

While she was walking, she notices some of the Secops walking by and did not make any eye contact to them. People like them really disgusts her ever since the school shooting. She'd never forgive them and never will. Especially that colonel, Quaritch. She does see him at times but does not want to speak or approach to him.

Once she finally got to the lab, Mirabel let out another yawn until she heard Max's voice.

"Well if it isn't Sleeping Beauty, awake from her slumber this early." he said as he smiled.

"Mourning Max." she said as she walked towards him.

Thankfully, Max handed her a cup of coffee and Mirabel thanked him for that.

"Are the link beds set for the new recruits?"

"Just about. The rest of the group are about to get the avatars out of the tanks." Max answered.

"Good." that was all that Mirabel could say.

Max looked at his young friend as he always knew something is on her mind but decided not to ask until Mirabel looks at him.

"If you're going to ask if something's on my mind, it's a lot." she said to him.

"Just like Grace. But which one in particular that is on your mind? The school shooting?"

"No... well, a little. But mostly it's about that new recruit. What was his name? Jake, was it?" Mirabel questioned and Max nod his head as an answer. "I'm not sure about him. He's not a scientist, his brother is gone, he doesn't believe in my story, and I'm pretty sure he'll join the RDA cause he was a marine."

"To my words to you, Mira. I'm not so sure. If Quaritch got to him, he'll might join."

"He'll end up a huge mistake going to the wrong path." Mirabel mumbled with Max could hear.

"Try not to worry about that." he whispered to himself. "But it's better not to talk out loud or around if everyone's around or they'll hear."

Mirabel nods her head in agreement and took another sip of her coffee.

A few hours later, it was now eight. Mirabel got the link beds set up for the new recruits before going to hers but decided to watch with Max to see Norm and Jake in their avatars. Once everything was prepared, Mirabel noticed her mother coming in with Norm and Jake as she was showing them to where they're linked beds be.

"How much have you logged?" Grace asked Jake as she activated the link chamber.

"Zip." he answered. "I read a manual."

"Tell me you're joking."

'He's probably not joking at all.' Mirabel thought as she shook her head and looked at Jake as he was squeezing and poking the gel. "That's something that helps everyone feel comfortable. Don't tear that up." she said to him.

Jake looked at her for a second and starts lifting himself up from his wheelchair and hauls to the link bed. Grace stood in front of him and starts reaching up to lift his legs, but the marine stopped her.

"Don't! I got this." he said to her.

Grace moves back a little while Jake lifts legs up to the unit. Mirabel looked at him for a moment and then walk away to join the scientists.

"So, you just figured you'd come out here to the most hostile environment known to man, with no training of any kind, and see how it went? What was going through your head?"

"Maybe I'm sick of doctors telling me what I couldn't do." he answered.

The scientists along with Mirabel and Max were checking on the screens for both Jake and Norm. As the sound of the chambers were locked and secure, Mirabel and Max head to window to where the avatar bodies are lying down on the gurneys and techs were around them.

"This is it." said Mirabel as she looked at the avatars.

"That's a gorgeous brain." Max spoke as he was paying attention to the screen on Jake's head being scanned. "Nice activity."

"Go figure." Grace spoke as she was with them. "Alright, I'm going in."

"I'll meet you later." Mirabel said to her.

Grace nodded her head and starts walking away as she was heading to her link bed.

Both Mirabel and Max continued looking at both the scanner and the window. Mirabel was more focusing on looking the avatars while Max was paying attention on the percentage of Jake being in transition. But a moment later, Mirabel saw Norm's avatar eyes open. Smiling a little to see that he was taking it slow and testing any of his body and then he saw Jake finally awoke as he opened his eyes.

"He's in." she spoke to her friend as she looked at Jake.

"The brain cells looks normal, so this is good." said Max.

Mirabel listened to him, but she was only paying attention to avatar Jake and Norm. They were taking things slow as Jake was slowly sitting up and Norm was testing the movement of his hands. But as she continued to watch them, she notices that Jake was about to get up and the techs were trying to stop him.

"Uh... Max."

Max heard Mirabel's voice as he knew something was wrong. He looked up to see Jake getting up but was stumbling a little. The techs tried to tell him to sit back down but he won't listen.

"He's out of his mind." said Mirabel as he looked disbelief.

"Jake! We need you to sit down! Jake." the male tech spoke to him.

"It's okay. It's all good. I got this."

'No, he doesn't.' Mirabel thought.

"Jake, you need to sit down right now." said the female tech.

"Guys, get him back on the gurney now." Max spoke.

The techs still try to tell Jake to sit back down but he still wouldn't listen. He felt his tail wrapped around his shoulder and tries chasing it, but his hail was knocking some stuff down. He smiled and laughed in amazement. Mirabel, on the other hand, shook her head and looked unamused as one of the techs decided to sedate him.

"I'm going in." she said and walked away as she was heading towards her link bed.

Jake was still standing and trying to walk but stumbled a little as he was close to the window where Max is.

"Jake! Jake, listen to me! You're not used to your avatar body! This is dangerous!"

"This is great!" Jake smiled.

"Jake, come on! They're gonna put you out!" said Norm as he was looking at him.

Jake still wasn't listening as he got the wires off of him from the monitor and laughed as he was walking out to the exit door. The techs tried to shout out for him, and Norm decided to follow him as he starts taking the leads off of him even one of the techs tries telling him to sit down.

Outside at the training area, Mirabel was now awakened in her avatar body and quickly got up from her cot. She remembered what was happening at the lab and she looked really mad. As she exit the cabin, she saw her standing near the stairs as she was waiting for her.

"Finally, you're here." she spoke.

"Now's not the time, mom. We got a problem." Mirabel spoke to her.

"What do you mean?"

Mirabel was about to say something to her until she looked up to see Jake as he just started running.

"There he is."

Grace turned around to see him and looked impressed to see him running. She smirked and started walking towards him while Mirabel follows her. They saw him finally stopped as he was feeling the dirt in his feet and breathing the air.

"Hey marine!" Grace spoke as she got his attention. She along with Mirabel could tell the surprised look on his face.

"Grace?"

"Well, who'd you expect, numbnuts?" she asked as she pulled a Pandoran fruit from a small tree. "Think fast!"

She threw the fruit towards him, and Jake quickly caught it. She was impressed, even Mirabel but she was still mad.

"Motor control is looking good." said Grace.

Jake quickly took a bite of the fruit, and the juice starts dripping down his chin. He smiled as he can taste the sweetness from the strange fruit. Norm finally appeared as he caught up with Jake. He was running at first, but he stopped.

"Check it out!" he spoke as he was posing like a bodybuilder. "I am a living God!"

Mirabel smirked and rolled her eyes, but it was pretty funny for posing like that.

"Look at this! This is amazing!" he said as he was about to walked towards them until he tripped and fell to the ground.

Grace and Mirabel chuckled a little, but Jake shook his head. But as he turned to look at Grace, he now saw Mirabel only she didn't look to happy.

"Kid?" he questioned.

"Don't you 'Kid' me. What were you thinking?" Mirabel scolded. "You should be listening to them. They were trying to see if your good on your movements and what did you do? Ignoring and knocking things around like a toddler."

"Kid, come on! I mean I was just testing the walking and the running."

"Yet you still ignore the techs. They told you to sit back down and even tried to sedate you!"

Mirabel tried to speak more but then felt her mom's hand on her shoulder. Not in a firm way but gentle and calming.

"Deep breaths, Mira." she spoke softly to her. "Calm down."

Mirabel sighed and took deep breaths as what her mom told her to do, but then move a few steps back from Jake.

As night finally came, Mirabel was looking at the moons in the sky. It was beautiful and she couldn't take her eyes off it. It somehow calms her down a little since Jake was being... well... a skxawng.

"Come on everybody! Quiet down!" Grace spoke as she came in. "All right, gang, lights out."

Mirabel looked at her mother and stepped away from the window as she was heading to her cot. As she got everything set, she looked at Jake from the distance as he was staring at the queue from his braid. Mirabel remembers back when she was a kid, she has seen the Na'vi use those to bond and connect with their ikrans, direhorses, and other creatures they could bond or connect, especially the nature of pandora.

"Lights out!" Grace spoke as she turned the lights off. "See you at dinner, kiddies."

Mirabel was snapped out of her thoughts and lied down on her bed. As she starts closing her eyes, she starts clearing her mind as always and felt as she was now asleep until everything went white.

Mirabel, now opened her eyes as she was back in the link bed, lying down on the cozy foam until the lid was being lift up. Her eyes squinted at the bright light but blinked a few times only to see Grace facing her.

"Hungry, kiddo?" she asked as she smirked.

"Maybe a little." Mirabel replied with a smile and got off the link bed.

"Come on."

Mirabel starts following her mother but then looked over to see Norm getting out and Jake starts climbing onto his wheelchair. She let out a small sigh and continued walking with her mother.

A moment later, Mirabel was in her bedroom doing her video log about what's been going on and about the new recruits. But once it's over, she let out a sigh and had her hand covered her eyes until she heard the door open.

"You alright, butterfly?"

Mirabel looked up to see her mother entering the room.

"I'm really not sure about Jake, mom. I mean... he didn't listen to us, don't know what about science, and he'll join the RDA. I mean... they'll never listen."

"We just have to face it, kid." Grace spoke as she placed her hands on Mirabel's shoulders and her face was close to her adopted daughter's cheek. "Maybe... he won't go against us. Since I am in charge of the program."

Mirabel smiled at her mother for a moment and then felt Grace had her arms around her in a hug. She felt a lot better when Grace is with. Don't know what she will do without.

"Get some rest." she spoke to her with a smirk as she noticed something. Before she left the room, she turned around to face her daughter and said, "By the way, your camera is still on.

"Wait, what?" Mirabel looked at her as Grace left the room and then turn around to look at the camera. She saw a red light and realized that it was still on. "Oh!" she exclaimed and quickly had her finger to the stop button. "This is Mirabel signing off!"

Author's Note: Sorry to keep you waiting for the new chapter. I have a lot of other chapters to work (and other stuff when Christmas comes) especially when there are writer's block. You gotta hate those.
