We all had dinner and drinks at the bar and grill on Pier 39 Friday evening. It was not terribly crowded, unlike summertime.

The dinosaur incident was still fresh in our minds. I recounted the time Quinn, Wade, Rembrandt, and I slid into that world where dinosaurs survived in North America, and perhaps other parts of that version of Earth. I spent most of it hiding in a cave from an Allosaurus.

Bennish mentioned that paleontologists have discovered that many dinosaurs had feathers. The allosaurus I saw, and the dinosaur that strayed into our research center, did not have feathers, though it may very well be the result of 65 million years of evolution.

Davis wondered if there was a dimension where Earth was inhabited by dinosaur people, and then Jensen remarked there could be a world where trilobite people dominate the Milky Way Galaxy from their throneworld on Earth.

This was a pleasant break, for soon I have to prepare the exams for my students.
