December 2, 1996

The students were back from their Thanksgiving break, spending time with their family and friends. Many students socialized at the food court. Various fraternities advertised welcome back parties for the first week of December; fraternities and sororities worked the same here as they did in my home world. Starting next week, a solid majority of them will hit the books to study for the final exams in two weeks.

Of course, I have to prepare to administer these exams now. The last time I administered final exams was May of 1994. That was two-and-a-half years ago, in a different dimension. Indeed, when I first stepped through a wormhole, I had been busy preparing the midterms for early October.

Christmas season had gone into full swing the day after Thanksgiving. Holly wreaths were hung around the campus.

It was a shame I was estranged from my son back then, and from what I could tell, my other self native to this world was also estranged from his son, my son's double of this world.

I still can not understand why my other self would leave this world.
