My other self took me to my home world first thing in the morning. I felt this weightless sensation, and I was outside.
I looked around, and I was just right at my house!
"Are you going home now?" I asked.
"I actually want to take the time to explore this dimension," my other self said. "I could check the library, read up on your world's history."
"Well, it's my adopted world for now." I reached into my wallet and pulled out forty dollars in cash. "Here," I said.
"I might as well spend it on food and beer and souvenirs. It's not accepted as currency in my world."
I called and asked for a taxi to take me to the Yerba Buena Research Center. I recognized ther taxi driver, Pavel Kurlienko. I had met his doubles on more than a handful of occasions during my twenty month transdimensional journey.
i reac hed the gate, greeting the guards.
"Come with us," they said.
I waited in this room for four hours. Then some men and women in suits walked in; they were clearly FBI.
"Name's Copeland," said the senior FBI agent.
And they asked me questions about my mysterious disappearance. As I spoke to them, I noticed Colonel Rickman standing in the corner.
"How do we know you are THE Arturo who was helping out in Yerba Buena for the past year?" asked Copeland. "You would have the same fingerprints and DNA and retinal scan."
"How do I know you are the Agent Copeland native to this dimension, instead of an interdimensional mole?" I countered.
The FBI agents all glanced at each other. While the general public of the world knew of sliding and parallel dimensions, I was the person on this Earth who has had the most practical experience.
They soon let me go; I had a feeliong they would pay special attention to me.
