The light from an open window shone brightly on Alex's face, causing his eyes to flicker before they groggily and slowly opened. When they did, he found himself staring up at a ceiling he did not recognise.

The events of the previous night began to make its way back to his memory. Grover being a Satyr from the old Greek times, being attacked by the Minotaur before he and Percy managed to kill it, Sally gone and then... he passed out.

'That's a first.' Alex thought with a slight grimace as he slowly moved to sit up. and take in his surroundings.

He found Percy in a similar bed next to his, a blonde-haired girl feeding him something. Alex's eyes narrowed, her blonde hair looked very familiar...

"What are you feeding him?" He asked, making the girl jump up and turn around, startled, and his eyes locked with stormy grey ones.

"Don't scare me like that!" The girl huffed.

Alex didn't hear her, too busy focusing on where he recognised her. She was twelve, had curly blonde hair and stormy grey eyes. She was also dressed in an orange top and blue shorts. His eyes soon widened as he connected the dots, remembering only one girl that he met five years ago who had the features she did.

"Annabeth?"

Annabeth smiled softly. "Thought you'd recognise me, Alex. Even after five years."

"Can't forget those stormy eyes, Annie." Alex smiled, using the nickname he used for her when they were kids. They had met when she was seven and he was eight, along with two others that had been with Annabeth.

Annabeth huffed. "Don't call me that."

"Why?" Alex tilted his head, smirking. She always hated that nickname, even as a kid.

"Just don't." Annabeth mildly glared at him.

"Okay, okay... Bethy."

Annabeth sighed and pinched the bridge of her nose, but her lips pulled into a smile before she laughed and jumped him in a hug. "Gods, I've missed you! It's been five years!"

"Five years wasn't that long." Alex chuckled, hugging her back.

"Yes it was, Wolf." Annabeth nodded into his neck, using the meaning of his middle name. "Yes, it was."

Alex chuckled and just hugged her back. "It's good to see you too, Annabeth. Now, if you don't mind me asking... where the heck am I? And what were you feeding Percy?"

"Oh." Annabeth stepped back, smiling sheepishly at being too caught on her reunion. "Well, you're at Camp Half-Blood. And don't worry about your friend, what I fed him is to heal him. Would've done the same for you, but you seemed to heal a lot quicker."

Alex shrugged. "I've always been like that."

"Come on, I'll take you to Chiron and Mr. D. They are the ones who can give you answers." Annabeth said, leading Alex out of the room. "You and your friend caused quite a ruckus last night, and when we found you passed out we brought you to the medical wing."

Alex looked around, taking in the sights. Greek letters and words were here and there, and he could read them easily.

When the two made it outside Alex looked around and felt slightly amazed of the place

From what he saw the landscape was dotted with buildings that looked like ancient Greek architecture. There was an open-air pavilion, a large amphitheater, a circular arena that had a lot of training dummies scattered over it with a few kids hacking away at them with swords.

There were white marble columns sparkling in the sun.

In a nearby sandpit, a dozen high school-age kids and satyrs played volleyball. Canoes glided across a small lake. Kids in bright orange T-shirts like Grover's were chasing each other around a cluster of cabins nestled in the woods. Some shot targets at an archery range. Others rode horses down a wooded trail while some flew on horses with wings.

'Incredible.' He thought as he looked around.

Annabeth smiled at seeing his reaction. "Amazing, isn't it?" Alex could only nod, speechless for once.

They headed over to a large building bigger than the rest that had an open porch on it and there were two people sitting at a small table playing some kind of game.

When Alex neared he saw the first guy was in a wheel chair and immediately recognized.

"Mr. Brunner?" He called and the Latin teacher turned and smiled.

"Ah, Alex, good to see you up, my boy." He said, wheeling towards them. "You have questions, no doubt. I have answers. Come, take a seat. And Mr. Brunner is just an alias. My real name is Chiron."

Alex nodded and took a seat at the table, his eyes going to the other man who he figured was Mr. D. He was was small, but porky. He had a red nose, big watery eyes, and curly hair so black it was almost purple. He looked like those paintings of baby angels— what do you call them, hubbubs? No, cherubs. That's it. He looked like a cherub who'd turned middle-aged in a trailer park. He wore a tiger-pattern Hawaiian shirt, and he would've fit right in at one of Gabe's poker parties, except Alex got the feeling this guy could've out-gambled even Gabe.

Mr. D looked at him with bloodshot eyes and heaved a great sigh. "Oh, I suppose I must say it. Welcome to Camp Half-Blood. There. Now, don't expect me to be glad to see you."

"Well, aren't you charming." Alex remarked in a dry tone.

Chiron looked over to his right and shouted. "Grover, come here please!"

Alex looked up as he saw Grover, still with the goat legs, run over with a box in hand. His running with his goat legs made him as fast as a track star since he left a small trail of dust behind him.

"Alex," he said putting the box down before giving the silver-eyed Devil Hunter a hug, "Its good to see you up and about."

"Thank you for bringing him, Annabeth." Chiron thanked the blonde. "I know you want to catch up, but I believe he wants answers at the moment."

"Sure, Chiron." Annabeth smiled at Alex then ran off the porch.

"Just tell me what I need to know, Chiron." Alex said.

"Very well. To start off, Alex, you are not an ordinary person. You have come to believe that you are a mortal, just a regular person just like everyone else however that is untrue and far from the truth. You are what is known as a half-blood or as you may now it from Latin Class as a demigod."

"The Greek gods from the old stories and from what are believed to be myths are very real and still exist to this very day. Over the years they moved from country to country, continent to continent until they eventually wound up in America. From time to time they come down to earth and as you so delicately put it on the trip to the museum, they hook up with mortals because they can't keep it in their pants." Chiron said, getting a chuckle all around, even from Mr. D.

"This camp is a place where many demigods just like yourself come to train, meet other demigods and form close friendships. From time to time even a quest is issued though one has not been issued for some time. For many Camp Half-Blood is a place that many have come to call their home due to not being able to live in the mortal world because of their scent which attract monsters, just like the one you encountered last night or they simply don't have anyone to go back to."

Alex took everything in and only had one thought, 'So my mom is a goddess. Dad, i'm gonna kick your ass when I see you again.'

"I know this is a big change and it will be a little strange at first but you will get used to it and you will adjust. Many here were just like you and given time they settled in and got use to it. I'm sure you shall too." Chiron said.

"So you're saying the Greek Gods really do exist and reside here in America and I am the son of one of them?" Alex asked just to clarify.

"Pretty much." Grover answered.

"Well, I know I'm the son of a goddess, then. My mother wasn't present in my life, only my dad." Alex said.

Chiron hummed as he took in Alex's features, trying to connect which goddess could be his mother. The silver eyes... there was only one goddess with similar eyes, but... no, it couldn't be her. She swore an oath.

"Until she Claims you, we do not know who your mother is, I'm afraid." Chiron said, disappointing Alex as he had hoped to finally get answers beyond the fact that his mother was a goddess. Well, this explained her absence... didn't mean he didn't like it. She could've at least tried to make some time for him and his father.

Alex sighed, tapping his finger against the table, then realized something as he looked at Chiron. "You're the Chiron, aren't you? Trainer of Heroes? You trained Hercules, Jason and Achilles."

Chiron smiled. "I am. I see you are smart and knowledgeable of your Greek mythology."

Mr. D snorted. "At least one of these brats won't get smited by saying something to anger the wrong god." He waved his hand and red wine appeared in a glass goblet, making Alex blink as the man went to take a sip.

Chiron rolled his eyes. "Mr. D, your restrictions."

Mr. D sighed and looked at the wine wistfully. "Oh yes." He looked to the sky. "Sorry!"

The sky rumbled with thunder.

Alex looked between the goblet of wine and Mr. D, his eyes narrowing thoughtfully. A second later, he realized who this was. "You're Dionysus, aren't you? The God of Wine and son of Zeus."

Mr. D looked up and nodded, a little impressed which was very hard to do. "Indeed, I am. Hmm, are we sure this is not one of Athena's brats who just earned a different hair color and eyes?"

"Athena always Claims her children when they arrive." Chiron reminded.

"Wait, isn't Athena one of the Virgin Goddesses?" Alex asked with confusion. There was nothing in the myths about Athena having children.

Chiron chuckled. "She found a loophole around her oath and exploited it without breaking it. You see, her children are conceived when her divine thoughts met the mortal ingenuity of the men she favored, a love which she believed to be of the purest kind. Her children are then born in the same way she was."

"So... brainchildren, got it." Alex nodded. He had to admit, that was smart of Athena, but then again he shouldn't be surprised. Wisdom Goddess, she would think of something smart to get around her oath without the need to break it. Athena had been his second favourite goddess to read about, with Hestia coming in third.

Deciding to change the subject, Alex looked at Grover and the box he had been carrying. "Grover, what's with the box?"

"Oh, right!" Grover placed the box down and opened it, revealing the Minotaur horn that Alex had taken off. "This is your spoil of war."

"My what?" Alex frowned.

"Spoils of war." Chiron explained this time. "When monsters are defeated, they leave behind something that could be useful to a hero. We call them spoils of war. Some can use them to get ahead in their journeys, or pray to their godly parents and send them to them as tribute."

Alex nodded, that made sense he supposed. If only demons could do that, but Devil Arms were close enough although it required killing very powerful demons to have a Devil Arm.

"Well, thanks for getting it for me, Grover." Alex said, earning a smile from his friend.

"There's another one for Percy." He clarified and Alex nodded, figuring that he'd get the other one. "It's the least I could do since you and Percy got me here. I should have protected you but I failed."

Grover's head looked down but Chiron clasped him on the shoulder.

"You did a good job Grover. That is two more you have bought to safety."

"It should have been five," He whispered, causing Chiron to get a sad look on his face.

"Grover why don't you take Alex on a tour of the camp. I'm sure he is eager to see what is around here," Chiron suggested.

"Sure" he said getting up and motioning Alex to follow.

"Might as well see what this place has to offer." Alex muttered as he followed the Satyr.

The first place Grover took him was the volleyball court, where a couple of year rounders, who Grover said stay at camp throughout the whole year, not just the summer, and even a couple of Satyrs played a game.

After this, they walked past the Arts and Crafts Centre, which was where sculpting, painting, weaving and ceramics were done, being a favourite spot for Athena's children, which didn't surprise Alex, given one of her names being Goddess of Crafts and Arts. He even saw a couple of her children, who all had grey eyes and blonde hair, like Annabeth, watching him as he and Chiron walked past. He noticed how all the campers all wore orange t-shirts as well, with what looked like a black pegasus on them.

'Guess Annabeth is a daughter of Athena. Figured.' Alex had thought with a small smile.

Grover then led him to the Canoe Lake, where campers canoe and even perform water combat on Greek war triremes. And saw that some naiads resided in the lake, who all giggled and waved at Alex, who smirked and winked at them which made them blush or giggle harder.

The Amphitheatre was next and left Alex very impressed. He even tried out one of the stone benches that were in rising tiers and curved around the central stage, saying that it was as comfortable as a movie theatre chair, which made Grover chuckle. It was explained that this was where nightly sing-alongs were conducted, which were led by Apollo's children, the end of camp ceremonies and occasionally shroud burnings for demigods that don't come back alive, which Alex could understand. The life of a demigod was similar to the life of a demon hunter; dangerous and life-taking.

if it wasn't for the fact that Alex, his father and uncle could heal quickly from the worst of wounds, then they would've been dead a long time ago. But they didn't let their healing factors make them lazy in combat. They could still be killed because, after all, how can one heal back from a decapitation?

Next up was the Climbing Wall, which spewed lava, though Grover assured him that all it did was torn to threads if soaked. The lava is there for an extra challenge and if campers don't get to the top quickly, then the walls clash together, spewing the lava. Alex had grinned and said he was sooo trying it out at the first opportunity, which made Grover looked at him in both amusement and disbelief at his eagerness. When seeing this, Alex said he liked to test himself against tough challenges, keeps him in good shape and further develops his skills.

The two then walked down the beach, which gave them a great view of the Long Island Sound. Grover explained that on the Fourth of July, they'd put on a fireworks display. And there's the fact that older campers use this area to go on dates with picnic blankets. And this place is also used for deep water training exercises.

They then entered the forest, which covers a lot of the camp's grounds. Not only do dryads live here, but also monsters, which concerned Alex as he asked if the monsters would attack daily. Grover assured him that they don't, but if a demigod wandered into the forest then they should be armed and/or have a companion. The Satyr mentioned that every Friday, campers play a game called Capture the Flag, which Alex couldn't help but joke about when he heard it, asking if it's like the video game Halo, which got Grover to laugh and he explained it wasn't... sort of.

It was the same, just without the shooting and killing. Nonetheless, it sounded fun in Alex's opinion.

Once they exited the forest, their next stop on the tour was the Pegasus Stables. Grover explained to Alex how there were pegasi, and even horses, were stored here and that they're cared for by Demeter's children, with help from Aphrodite's. Lessons to ride them are taught by the latter's children. As they walked past, Alex noticed a female camper taking care of a white Pegasus. She had long black hair and blue eyes and was very pretty. She noticed Alex looking at her and she smiled, waving to him, and he waved back with a slight smile, unable to help but blush which seemed to make the girl giggle.

Alex was a bit surprised to see that there was indeed a strawberry field, considering the cover that he saw on the sign on the way to the camp. Grover explained that this was how the camp pays for their resources, which is maintained by Demeter's children, as well as Dionysus' children. At the mention of the God of Wine, Alex inquired as to why he was down here, sober, and not on Olympus getting drunk off his ass. Grover explained that he went after a wood nymph that Zeus had his eyes on and so was banished to work at Camp Half-Blood for a hundred years and can't drink wine, not even grow grapes for wine.

Alex had just shaken his head, not surprised that Zeus had his eyes on another woman. One thing was for certain, Hera had to have been really pissed.

Next, Grover showed him the Archery Field where everyone practices archery, although the most skilled archers were the sons and daughters of Apollo, as well as the Hunters of Artemis. Alex had smirked and mentioned how he loved a challenge since he always enjoyed archery, and was a natural at it when he was younger.

That made Grover curious, as there were only two gods who preferred archery, and Alex had mentioned he only had his dad in his life so that ruled out Apollo. Which left...

Grover quickly shook that train of thought off, knowing it was impossible.

There was the Armoury that was next, where they were stocked on swords, spears, shields, axes, but Alex said he had his sword and guns so they would do him just fine; although he wouldn't mind a bow and arrow quiver to add to his arsenal, maybe even a dagger.

Next was the Arena, where spars, duels, challenges, and fighting classes are held.

After they passed the area where dinner was held; the Dining Pavillion, Grover led Alex to where the campers sleep. Upon arrival, Alex saw the sight of twelve cabins in a U shape. All the cabins were of different shapes and sizes, and looked very different from each other.

"Welcome to the cabins." Grover proclaimed. "There's twelve of them each represent the Olympians. However, four are empty which are Zeus, Poseidon, Hera and Artemis. Years ago, at the end of World War II, Zeus, Hades and Poseidon swore an oath to never have children again-"

Alex snorted. "Zeus? Swearing off on having kids? Big shocker."

The sky rumbled lightly with thunder.

Alex simply looked up, raised an eyebrow and said. "Am I wrong?"

No thunder, just a low rumble that sounded like a grumble.

Alex nodded smugly. "Thought so. Anyway, continue."

"Right." Grover nodded, pointing to one cabin that looked like a marble, formal-looking building, graceful with slim columns garlanded with pomegranates and cabin had slimmer columns with pomegranates and flowers around them. The walls also have images of peacocks carved on them, as well as the doors. "That's Hera's cabin. It's there to honour her, same with Poseidon's and Artemis'."

Alex looked over as Grover pointed towards the Artemis cabin. It was an all-silver building with silver curtains. It is decorated with paintings and carvings of wild animals, but mostly the stag.

He didn't know why, but he felt a pull towards the cabin and simply stared at it.

"I wouldn't think of entering that cabin if I were you. Only her Hunters occupy her cabin whenever they arrive. And she despises all men. She'd turn you into a Jackalope if you tried to enter." Grover warned him.

"Right." Alex said, now making sure to stay away from that cabin as much as possible. Artemis may be his favourite goddess to read about, but now that he knows she's real, he doubted she'd tolerate his mere presence.

Grover patted his shoulder. "Anyway, I better check on Percy, make sure he's alright in the medical wing. Ah, there's Annabeth. She can take over for me!" He pointed down towards one of the cabins, which Alex assumed was the Athena cabin, seeing as Annabeth was leaning on the porch with a book in hand. "Take care, Alex.

"You too, furry chin." Alex smirked as Grover huffed at the nickname, then jogged off. Alex chuckled before he made his way towards Annabeth, who looked up at hearing footsteps approaching and smiled when she saw Alex.

"Hey Alex." She gave him a quick hug that he returned. "The tour finally over?"

"Yeah. This place is... it's something." Alex admitted, looking around.

"You'll get used to it. I did." Annabeth assured him with a smile. "So, how's your dad?"

"The usual." Alex said. "Being annoying and making me want to hit him... like all the time."

Annabeth giggled at that, remembering Dante teasing his son when he allowed her, Thalia and Luke to stay at Devil May Cry for two weeks. They had been curious about what they did, and Dante had no problem in telling them that he hunted demons for a living. When they had expressed their disbelief, Dante showed them proof. However, when it came to talk about demigods and whatnot, Dante made sure Alex was out of the room since Alex didn't know what he was at the time.

But now that she knew Alex was a demigod, she was getting to work on figuring out who his mother was.

"Hey, Annabeth." Another voice said. Alex turned and saw a young man, who looked to be nineteen years old with short sandy blonde hair and blue eyes. There was also a prominent thick and deep pale scar on his right cheek that went from under his eye to his chin. He also had an athletic and muscular build to him. Alex instantly recognised him.

"Luke?"

The young man stopped and scrutinised Alex for a moment then his eyes widened. "Alex?"

"Hey man." Alex grinned at him.

"It's good to see you!" Luke shook Alex's hand. "It's been, what, five years? You've grown. No longer eight years old."

"I've grown? Annie here was the one younger than me. Smaller too." Alex pointed out, to which the daughter of Athena responded by elbowing his stomach. "Oof!"

"Shut up." Annabeth said, her cheeks a little red.

Alex chuckled at making her embarrassed and then looked around, his grin falling a little at not seeing the third member of the trio he met five years ago. "Where's Thalia?"

At this, Luke and Annabeth's expressions fell and they glanced at each other. And Alex saw the pained, heartbroken looks on their faces.

And that's it for this chapter, figured that would be a bit of a note to leave on.
