Harry looked at Ginny, unsure how to answer her query. She had been sent to find him? What did that mean exactly? There was a pop and Breezy appeared above them.

"Oh, thank the storms! I was worried this would turn into some long and drawn-out mystery where you barely missed the signs until I was forced to intervene and make you both see reason."

Harry chuckled, feeling his worries wash away. If Breezy revealed herself, Ginny must be here for a good cause. Ginny giggled next to him, sending a different shiver down his body.

"Your one of Harry's elemental friends? My name is Ginny Weasley."

The Sylph flipped her hair. "I know well who you are, child of fire. You were brave to come without your powers. Understandable though. A novice of fire and air together, well that's likely to create a massive fire as not. Master Harry, we can trust this girl and her family. My counterparts of Fire speak highly of the Weasley line."

Ginny inclined her head. "Thank you, oh wise creature of Air. It's strange to see a Sylph show up so quickly though. Most of your kind I have glimpsed are never in a hurry."

Breezy laughed, again like the wind playing with chimes, "Oh, that's for sure. My sisters are so lazy. But Master Harry is special to me, so when he is involved, I come flying. Master," Her tone turned serious as she looked at him. "I sense a dark shadow on the school. It's shielded so I cannot tell more, but there is something dangerous at foot here. Be on your guard. At least you will not stand alone anymore."

Ginny reached over and put an arm on Harry's shoulder. He quite liked how her hand on his skin felt. "That's right. Even if I can't use magic yet, I can help in other ways. Speaking of that, I have something for you, Harry."

She took out her bag and fished out a large leather-bound book. He took it and examined the unadorned cover.

"What is it?"

She smiled and opened it, showing him a page with circles drawn in. "It's a novice's guide to Elemental Magic, specifically for a budding Air Master. Mummy's brother Fabian was an Air Master, not a fire like the rest of the family. They bought this book for him when he was first learning. Mummy said if the new Air child was a good sort, I could give him the book. So, it's yours Harry. It's enchanted so it will look like a textbook to anyone without elemental magic."

Breezy sighed in relief. "I was worried if it would be some time before Master Harry could get more schooling in the ways mortals use magic. But this should suffice until he can find a Master to learn from. A mortal mage or a greater Air elemental could serve as your tutor, but it's best to mix both."

Harry nodded. "Makes sense, based on what you have told me."

Ginny shrugged. "Someone had to teach the first Masters. It was likely the elementals is what the Old Lion says."

"The Old Lion?" Harry asked in confusion.

"Oh right, I forgot you wouldn't be familiar with him. Lord Alderscroft, is one of the oldest and most powerful magicians on the British Isles. He sponsors a school for children with magical talents in his old family home. I'll be going there like my brother Charlie once my powers come in. Someone as strong as you, well he will likely sponsor you to go as well if you can't afford it."

Harry felt a moment of hope before it was dashed by the cold reality. "My Uncle would never allow me to go to a school for magic. Even if it was not presented as such, he would insist my cousin Dudley go if it was presented as a special school."

Ginny gave him a look. "Would he really deny you going? I don't know anything about your situation, I'm sorry."

Harry Shrugged. "Not much to share. My parents disappeared not long after I was born. My Aunt and Uncle took me in, and my Uncle never forgave me for it. My Aunt is alright, when Uncle Vernon isn't around. Dudley and I used to be close, but Uncle Vernon put a stop to that."

Harry made the mistake of looking in Ginny's eyes. Her brown orbs smoldered in rage. "He really treats you like that?"

"Yes. It's just something I have to live with."

"No," Ginny said firmly. "No one should have to live like that. I'll talk to Mummy and Daddy. They will know what to do. I promise, I'll help you."

Harry could hear the sincere concern in her voice and the fire danced in her eyes. Child of fire, she had called herself. "Alright. If you can help me, please. I don't want to continue living there."

Ginny smiled widely. "I will. You focus on your magical studies for now. Leave the rest to me."

The Marauders crossed the border into England that night. They had to change routes three times thanks to dark elementals and other supernatural creatures getting in their paths.

Lupin shook himself as he returned to human form from his wolf shape. "Remind me, Padfoot, to send a report to Alderscroft about the threats we were unable to deal with. Some of those things are very nasty."

Sirius raised a hand in a thumbs up. He had collapsed after changing back from his dog shape and was lying spread-eagled on the floor of the barn they were using. The owner was an Earth Mage and they had crashed here with James before.

"Never thought we would be back here without Prongs." Wormtail said sadly, looking around. "How much further to Surry?"

"Without a vehicle? A week or more." Lupin confirmed. "We could get there in a couple of days if we could catch a ride."

Only Fire Masters were comfortable with automobiles to this day, it was a creature of heat and fire after all.

"No point in complaining about what we don't have," Sirius said. "The van couldn't go another meter."

They settled in and soon sleep claimed them. Lupin wondered if the others slept as badly as he did.

The next morning, the Marauders left the barn and set off down the country road. A heavy fog hung in the air, a dark and oily color.

"Who does this fog remind you of." Sirius asked, suspicion in his voice.

"Severus." Lupin replied angry. "That cad knows we are coming home and sent us a little gift."

Peter shook his head as he looked around the area. "I think we can make it, in animal shape. But we will need to be lashed together. If one of us gets lost in the fog, who knows what it might guide us into."

"Capital idea, Wormy." Sirius reached into his pack and brought out their longest rope. He tied it so they could easily slip it on when it was time to walk together. "Good thing we practiced things like this in case we ever got captured."

Lupin laughed. "James was so sure being dark creature hunters was going to bite us in the butts. Remember those morning wake ups to five kilometer runs in beast form?"

Peter shivered. "Please don't remind me. I can still see the stag chasing us in my mind."

They changed and set themselves up and headed into the enchanted fog. This might slow them down but it would no stop their return to Harry.

The rest of the school day passed normally. Snape continued to observe the Potter brat and his female friend as best he could. He tried to compel his elementals to follow the boy, but he quickly learned not to do that. His compelled Elementals were grabbed by a vicious wind and thrown out of the city the hard way. He doubted the boy would be strong enough to have done it, but he would not have put it past Lily to put her most faithful of Sylphs guarding her son, powers or not. The boy himself didn't show any signs of magic, but that could be due to shields. Snape would need to be smarter about how he tracked the boy.

He checked his magical fog and was pleased that Potter's friends were trapped within, trying to make their way through. He would not send them to their deaths. Oh no. They would live, trapped in the fog, unable to escape. Right until his Master got rid of the boy and Lily broke and became his. Then, he would let them go and show them how dangerous a Water Master could be.

Snape picked up a pen and turned his attention to looking over the pop quiz he had sprung on them at the end of class.

"Well, Potter's son he may be, but I can tell he just barely passed on purpose." Snape had to respect the boy. He had gotten most of the questions right and failed just enough to barely pass. He could see pencil marks, very faint, on the right answers on the ones that he had missed. "Something Lily would have done…"

He shook his head, forcing the thought from his mind. Lily might have birthed him, but he must be Potter's son. He refused to see the boy, the target, in any other way.
