Disclaimer: I do not own Devil May Cry or Percy Jackson and the Olympians. I only own the OC Alexander Redgrave.
When they got to the apartment and knocked on the door, Percy's breathing had hitched when none other than Sally Jackson answered it. Her eyes went wide when she saw her son.
"Mum!" Percy all but shouted as he lunges towards his mother and wrapped her in a hug as Sally did the same. She whispered soothing words into her son's ears as Percy got a little teary at finally getting his mother back. It just showed how much Percy had truly missed his mum.
Alex stood a little ways off letting them have their moment and had a smile on his face as he watched the mother-daughter reunion.
"Alex!" He grunted as Sally pulled him into the hug as well. "I'm glad you're safe too" she said.
"Thank you. I'm happy that your okay. Percy was going out of his mind with worry." He said making her chuckle. The conversation would have been more positive if a certain person had not decided to interrupt.
"Hey, Sally! That meat loaf done yet or what?"
Coming round the corner was none other than Gabe, looking fat and filthy just as always, and he stopped just in front of the small group. His face morphed into one of anger when he saw both Percy and Alex. No doubt he had already forgotten about Alex's little threat to him.
"You got a lot of nerve coming here, you little punks. I thought the police—"
"Gabe, just let this go please. What's done is done and let's just put it in the past." Sally said getting raised eyebrows from Gabe.
"Put it in the past? Do you expect me to forget all the trouble those two brats have caused me over the last few weeks?"
The two boys eyed Gabe cautiously, not liking the look he was giving them, and Percy saw his right hand was twitching.
"Gabe, please just-" Sally started but she suddenly shut her eyes when she saw Gabe's fist making it way towards her.
After a couple of seconds had passed she realized that nothing had hit her but she did hear some kind of crash. When she opened her eyes she was surprised and shocked to see Percy standing in front of her with an angry look in his face as he stood protectively in front of her with an arms stretched out in front of him while Alex was next to him also with his fist stretched out. In front of them was a hole in the wall and through that hole was Gabe lying motionless on the floor.
Since they both reacted at the same time, both their fists met Gabe's skull and threw him through the wall.
"Percy, you and your mom go and pack your stuff. You're not staying with this man any longer." Alex said as he walked through the hole in the wall.
Sally looked like she was going to argue but Percy just gave her a look saying 'you don't need to protect me anymore.'
Sally nodded and went with Percy. As they did, Alex noticed a package on the side of the counter which he began to recognize. When he saw what it was, his face split into a grin.
After about fifteen minutes Sally came out with a bag full of clothes, as did Percy. Alex told them he'll phone either his dad or aunt Lady, who had an apartment in New York that she'll let them stay at.
Percy nodded his thanks and left with his mom, telling Alex that he would see him back at camp.
Alex looked down at Gabe's unconscious form with a sneer on his face. Slowly Gabe's eyes flickered open and when he saw Alex staring down at him he had a petrified look on his face.
"I warned you, you fat piece of shit." Was all Alex said before he reached into the package and pulled out the head of Medusa, the eyes open. Gabe screamed before he was turned to stone.
Satisfied, Alex left the apartment.
They were the first heroes to return alive to Half-Blood Hill since Luke, so of course everybody treated them as if they'd won some reality-TV contest. According to camp tradition, they wore laurel wreaths to a big feast prepared in their honour, then led a procession down to the bonfire, where they got to burn the burial shrouds their cabins had made for them in their absence.
Annabeth's shroud was so beautiful - grey silk with embroidered owls - Percy told her it seemed a shame not to bury her in it. She punched him and told him to shut up as Alex laughed.
Being the son of Poseidon, Percy didn't have any cabin mates, so the Ares cabin had volunteered to make his shroud. They'd taken an old bed sheet and painted smiley faces with X'ed-out eyes around the border, and the word LOSER painted really big in the middle.
It was fun to burn in Percy's opinion.
As for Alex, since he was the only son of Artemis and didn't have cabinmates, his cousins from the Apollo cabin had made his shroud instead. It was quite beautiful and a shame to burn, as it was coloured silver and red, a mix of his parents' known colors, with the moon on it as well as a pack of silver wolves.
As Apollo cabin led the sing-along and passed out s'mores, Percy and Alex were surrounded by their old Hermes cabin mates, Annabeth's friends from Athena, telling about the quest, and Grover's satyr buddies, who were admiring the brand-new searcher's license he'd received from the Council of Cloven Elders.
The council had called Grover's performance on the quest "Brave to the point of indigestion. Horns-and-whiskers above anything we have seen in the past."
The only ones not in a party mood were Clarisse and her cabin mates, whose poisonous looks told Percy they'd never forgive him for disgracing their dad.
Oh well, haters gonna hate.
Even Dionysus' welcome-home speech wasn't enough to dampen their spirits. "Yes, yes, so the little brats didn't get themselves killed and now they'll have even bigger heads. Well, huzzah for that. In other announcements, there will be no canoe races this Saturday..."
On the Fourth of July, the whole camp gathered at the beach for a fireworks display by cabin nine. Being Hephaestus's kids, they weren't going to settle for a few lame red-white-and-blue explosions.
They'd anchored a barge offshore and loaded it with rockets the size of Patriot missiles. According to Annabeth, who'd seen the show before, the blasts would be sequenced so tightly they'd look like frames of animation across the sky. The finale was supposed to be a couple of hundred-foot-tall Spartan warriors who would crackle to life above the ocean, fight a battle, then explode into a million colours.
As Annabeth, Alex, and Percy were spreading a picnic blanket, Grover showed up to tell them good-bye. He was dressed in his usual jeans and T-shirt and sneakers, but in the last few weeks he'd started to look older, almost high-school age. His goatee had gotten thicker. He'd put on weight. His horns had grown at least an inch, so he now had to wear his rasta cap all the time to pass as human.
"I'm off," he said. "I just came to say... well, you know."
"Great goodbye speech, Grov," Alex said, earning him a punch from Annabeth.
Percy was both happy and sad to see him go. Happy he got his license but saddened to see he was leaving.
Annabeth gave him a hug. She told him to keep his fake feet on.
Alex patted him on the shoulder, wishing him luck and to try not to jinx himself so he didn't get into trouble.
Percy asked him where he was going to search first.
"Kind of a secret," he said, looking embarrassed. "I wish you could come with me, guys, but humans and Pan..."
"We understand," Annabeth said. "You got enough tin cans for the trip?"
"Yeah."
"And you remembered your reed pipes?" she added.
"Jeez, Annabeth," he grumbled. "You're like an old mama goat."
But he didn't really sound annoyed.
Alex gave him a manly hug, which he returned. He also gave a hug to Annabeth. Then he gripped his walking stick and slung a backpack over his shoulder. He looked like any hitchhiker you might see on an American highway - nothing like the little runty boy that Percy and Alex would defend from bullies on the playground.
"Well," he said, "wish me luck."
He clapped Percy on the shoulder, then headed back through the dunes.
Fireworks exploded to life overhead: Hercules killing the Nemean Lion, Artemis chasing the boar, George Washington (who, by the way, was a son of Athena) crossing the Delaware.
"Hey, Grover," Percy called.
The goat boy turned at the edge of the woods.
"Wherever you're going, I hope they make good enchiladas."
Grover grinned, and then he was gone, the trees closing around him.
"We'll see him again," Annabeth said.
"Obviously. He'd be lost without us," Alex snorted, though there was no malice behind his words.
Percy wanted to believe them, but he was still worried. No searcher had ever come back in like a thousand years or something. But he just had a feeling that Grover would be the first.
Alex and Percy joined in several games of Capture the Flag. Percy helped come up with new strategies that were used, while Alex used his abilities to successfully get the flag. Needless to say, Alex became one of the most sought out people for CTF.
Percy updated Alex on the situation with his mother. Lady had given them one of her apartments in New York, because of course she would have more than one. It was an old one that wasn't like one of her safehouses, so it was perfect for Sally and Percy to live at
The last night of the summer session came all too quickly.
The campers had one last meal together. They burned part of their dinner for the gods. At the bonfire, the senior counselors awarded the end-of-summer beads.
Alex and Percy got their own leather necklaces, and when they saw the bead for their first summer, both demigods couldn't help but grin at one another. It was a pitch black bead, with a green trident for Percy. For Alex, his was a pitch black bead as well, with a crescent moon on it.
"The choice was unanimous," Luke announced. "This bead commemorates the first Son of the Sea God at this camp in decades, as well as the first Son of Artemis at this camp for the first time ever, and the quest they undertook into the darkest part of the Underworld to stop a war!"
The entire camp got to their feet and cheered. Even Ares' cabin felt obliged to stand. Athena's cabin steered Annabeth to the front so she could share in the applause too.
The next morning, Alex had his things packed as he wasn't going to be a Year-rounder. He had much responsibility beyond camp to stay for a year. Thankfully, he didn't need to have Wolfsbane put into a guitar case given that he can now summon the sword into his hand in a flash of light by just a mere thought. It was awesome and very useful, his dad was going to be so jealous that he couldn't do that.
He had gotten his coat, the one given to him by his mother after she Claimed him, washed and cleaned so as to wear it again. He liked the coat, deeming it to be a very common form of attire he'll wear from then on.
Seeing he was packed, Alex figured he might as well say goodbye to some of his friends.
As he left his cabin, he spotted Percy and walked over to him. "Hey Perce."
"Hey Alex. You ready to leave?" Percy asked him.
Alex nodded. "Yeah, but I figured I'd go and say goodbye to my friends. Plus, I'll give you a little spar before we say goodbye."
Percy chuckled. "You got it."
The two went to the sword fighters arena to find Luke there already. His gym bag was plopped at the edge of the stage. He was working solo on battle dummies with a sword that neither of them saw before. Luke's orange counsellor shirt was soaked with sweat and his expression was very intense, which hinted at how much of a hard life he had before arriving at camp.
Alex whistled as he watched Luke practically destroy the dummies, his whistle gaining Luke's attention.
"Hey Alex, Percy." He greeted them.
"Luke." Alex nodded at him, keep his expression neutral. He hoped that his suspicions weren't correct, that Luke wasn't the lightning thief. Maybe it was another one of Hermes' kids.
"Sorry, we were just-"
"It's okay," Luke cut Percy off, lowering his sword. "Just doing some last-minute practice."
"Those dummies won't be bothering anybody anymore." Alex remarked, glancing at the destroyed dummies.
Luke shrugged. "We build new ones every summer."
Now that his sword wasn't swirling around, Alex could see something odd about it. The blade was two different types of metal—one edge bronze, the other steel.
Luke noticed them looking at it. "Oh, this? New toy. This is Backbiter."
"Backbiter?" Percy asked.
Luke turned the blade in the light so it glinted wickedly. "One side is celestial bronze. The other is tempered steel. Works on mortals and immortals both."
Alex remembered what Chiron said, that a hero should never harm mortals unless absolutely necessary.
"I didn't know they could make weapons like that." Percy said.
"They probably can't," Luke agreed. "It's one of a kind."
He gave them a tiny smile, then slid the sword into its scabbard. "Listen, I was going to come looking for you. What do you say we go down to the woods one last time, look for something to fight?"
Alex and Percy hesitated. The son of Artemis had noticed that ever since they had gotten back from the quest, Luke had been acting a little distant. And it was just further proving Alex's suspicions.
"You think it's a good idea?" Percy asked. "I mean—"
"Aw, come on." He rummaged in his gym bag and pulled out a six-pack of Cokes. "Drinks are on me."
Alex stared at them, having a feeling they were smuggled in. It seems it wasn't only Luke that may be serving Kronos.
"Sure," He decided. "Why not?"
They walked down to the woods and kicked around for some kind of monster to fight, but it was too hot. All the monsters with any sense must've been taking siestas in their nice cool caves.
They found a shady spot by the creek where Percy had broken Clarisse's spear during his first capture the flag game. They sat on a big rock, drank our Cokes, and watched the sunlight in the woods.
After a while Luke said, "You miss being on a quest?"
"With monsters attacking me every three feet? Are you kidding?"
Luke raised an eyebrow.
"Yeah, I miss it," Percy admitted.
"I fight demons for a living like every day of the week, it's a casual thing." Alex shrugged, then looked at Luke. "What about you? You miss being on a quest?"
A shadow passed over the son of Hermes' face.
Even though Luke was known to be good looking by the girls at camp, at this moment, he looked weary and angry, not even resembling the handsome young man. His blonde hair was grey in the sunlight and the scar on his face looked deeper than usual. It was like looking at a much older man.
"I've lived at Half-Blood Hill year round since I was fourteen." He told them "Ever since Thalia… well, you know. I trained, and trained, and trained. I never got to be a normal teenager, out there in the real world. Then they threw me one quest, and when I came back, it was like 'Okay, ride's over. Have a nice life'."
He then crumpled his Coke can and threw it into the creek, which shocked Percy and Alex. One rule at Camp Half-Blood was no littering. You'd hear from the nymphs and naiads, who'd get even by filling your sheets with centipedes and mud when you crawl into bed one night.
"The heck with laurel wreaths," Luke said. "I'm not going to end up like those dusty trophies in the Big House attic."
"You make it sound like you're leaving." Percy frowned.
Luke gave them a twisted smile. "Oh, I'm leaving, all right, Percy. I brought you down here to say good-bye."
He snapped his fingers. A small fire burned a hole in the ground at Percy and Alex's feet. Out crawled something glistening black, about the size of their hands. Two scorpions.
"I wouldn't." Luke cautioned. "Pit scorpions can jump up to fifteen feet. Their stingers can pierce right through your clothes. You'll be dead in sixty seconds."
"Luke, what -"
"I thought it was you." Alex said, angry at the betrayal. His suspicions confirmed. "You stole the Master Bolt and the Helm of Darkness."
Luke calmly stood and brushed off his jeans.
The two scorpions didn't pay him any attention and kept their beady black eyes on Alex and Percy, clamping their pincers as they crawled onto their shoes.
"I saw a lot out there in the world, you two." Luke told them. "Didn't you feel it - the darkness gathering, the monsters growing stronger? Didn't you realise how useless it all is? All the heroics - being pawns of the gods. They should've been overthrown thousands of years ago, but they've hung on, thanks to us half-bloods."
"Luke… you're talking about our parents." Percy said, which made Luke laugh.
"That's supposed to make me love them? Their precious 'Western civilization' is a disease, you two. It's killing the world. The only way to stop it is to burn it to the ground, start over with something more honest."
Alex raised a brow. "And you think the Titans are more honest? That Kronos is more honest? You clearly don't know your mythology that well if you think living under his rule is better than the Olympians. You're a fool to trust Kronos."
"You should be careful with names." Luke warned.
"Fuck the name." Alex spat, glaring. "Why not be proud of the master you serve like a lapdog?"
"Kronos got you to steal the master bolt and the Helm. He spoke to you in your dreams." Percy started connecting the dots.
Luke's eye twitched. "He spoke to you too, Percy. You should've listened."
"He's brainwashing you, Luke."
"You're wrong. He showed me that my talents are being wasted. You know what my quest was two years ago, you two? My father, Hermes, wanted me to steal a golden apple from the Garden of Hesperides and return it to Olympus. After all the training I'd done, that was the best he could think up."
Alex rolled his eyes. "You're mad because Heracles did it first."
"Exactly. Where's the glory in repeating what others have done? All the gods know how to do is replay their past. My heart wasn't in it. The dragon in the garden gave me this…" He pointed angrily at his scar. "...and when I came back, all I got was pity. I wanted to pull Olympus down stone by stone right then, but I bided my time. I began to dream of Kronos. He convinced me to steal something worthwhile, something no hero had ever had the courage to take. When we went on that winter solstice field trip, while the other campers were asleep, I snuck into the throne room and took Zeus' master bolt right from his chair. Hades' Helm of Darkness, too. You wouldn't believe how easy it was. The Olympians are so arrogant; they never dreamed someone would dare steal from them. Their security is horrible. I was halfway across New Jersey before I heard the storms rumbling, and I knew they'd discovered my theft."
The scorpions were now sitting on their knees, staring at Alex and Percy with their glittering eyes.
"And Ares found you before you could deliver to Kronos." Alex said.
Luke's smile wavered. "I… I got overconfident. Zeus sent out his sons and daughters to find the stolen bolt - your mother, Artemis, Apollo, my father, Hermes. But it was Ares who caught me. I could have beaten him, but I wasn't careful enough. He disarmed me, took the items of power, threatened to return them to Olympus and burn me alive. Then Kronos' voice came to me and told me what to say. I put the idea in Ares' head about a great war between the gods. I said all he had to do was hide the items away for a while and watch the others fight. Ares got a wicked gleam in his eyes. I knew he was hooked. He let me go, and I returned to Olympus before anyone noticed my absence."
Luke then drew out Backbiter and ran his thumb down the flat of the blade, like he was hypnotised by its beauty.
"Afterward, the Lord of the Titans… h-he punished me with nightmares. I swore not to fail him again. Back at Camp Half-Blood, in my dreams, I was told that a hero would arrive after another, and the latter would be tricked into taking the bolt and the Helm the rest of the way - from Ares down to Tartarus."
"You summoned the hellhound." Alex stated.
"We had to make Chiron think the camp wasn't safe for you, so he would start you on your quest. We had to confirm his fears that Hades was after you, and it worked."
"The flying shoes were cursed." Percy said. "They were supposed to drag me and the backpack into Tartarus,"
"And they would have, if you'd been wearing them. But you gave them to the satyr, which wasn't part of the plan. Grover messes up everything he touches. He even confused the curse."
"Don't say a word against my friends." Alex glared at him, his fists clenched. He glanced down at the scorpion, then back to Luke.
"You should have died in Tartarus, Percy. But don't worry, I'll leave you with my little friend to set things right. And you Alex, you're too smart for your own good. You need to be taken out of the equation."
Alex shook his head. "Thalia would be ashamed of you."
"Don't you dare say her name!" Luke snapped. "The gods let her die! That's one of the many things they will pay for."
"Is this what it's all about, Luke? Daddy didn't give you much attention and the second he did, you didn't like it? You didn't like that we showed you up?" Alex guessed, making Luke's face twitch with anger. "You are nothing but a bratty child who is having a tantrum. the second you are no longer useful to Kronos, you will die."
"Oh yeah?" Luke raised a brow. "Look at you, Alex. What has your mother ever done for you? or your father, Percy? Kronos will rise. You've only delayed his plans. He will cast the Olympians into Tartarus and drive humanity back to their caves. All except the strongest - the ones who serve him."
"You're insane." Alex shook his head.
"Call off the bugs." Percy said. "If you're so strong, fight us yourself."
Luke smiled. "Nice try, Percy. But I'm not Ares. You can't bait me. My lord is waiting, and he's got plenty of quests for me to undertake."
"Luke -"
"Goodbye, Percy, Alex. There is a new Golden Age coming. You won't be part of it."
He then slashed Backbiter in an arc and disappeared in a ripple of darkness.
The scorpions then lunged.
Alex was much quicker though.
He whipped out Eclipse and Phantom and shot the scorpions. However, Percy had already been stung as he had a huge red welt, oozing and smoking with pus.
"Percy!" Alex shouted in worry as Percy stumbled into the creek, thinking the water could heal him, however nothing happened. Quickly, he hoisted Percy onto his shoulders and ran with his cheetah-speed until he was in the camp and spotted someone.
"Get Chiron! Now!"
Percy's eyes slowly opened and found Alex, Annabeth and Chiron in the room with him, all with relived looks on their faces. Argus was in the corner of them room with his eyes looking all around the room.
"Here we are again," I said.
"You idiot," Annabeth said, which is how Alex knew she was overjoyed to see Percy alive. "You were green and turning gray when Alex brought you here. If it weren't for Chiron's healing ..."
"Now, now," Chiron's voice said. "Percy's constitution deserves some of the credit." "Percy, you and Alex must tell us exactly what happened." Chiron requested.
And so, with Alex having a heavy heart, he and Percy told them about Luke, that he was the thief and that he's working for Kronos and how he tried to poison them.
The room was quiet for a long time, with Alex worried about Annabeth, considering her close connection to Luke.
"I can't believe that Luke…." Her voice faltered before her expression turned angry and sad. "Yes. Yes, I can believe it. May the gods curse him…. He was never the same after his quest."
"This must be reported to Olympus." Chiron muttered. "I will go at once."
"Luke is out there right now." Percy said. "I have to go after him."
"You are in no condition to do anything." Alex said, putting a hand on Percy's shoulder to stop him from getting up. "By now, Luke is in the wind. We won't be able to find him. But we will see him again and he will answer for what he's done. I'm going to make sure of it."
Percy sighed, but listened to his friend's words and so laid back down.
"Chiron… your prophecy from the Oracle… it was about Kronos, wasn't it? Was I in it? And Annabeth and Alex?"
Chiron glanced nervously up at the ceiling. "Percy, it isn't my place -"
"You've been ordered not to talk to me about it, haven't you?"
Chiron looked at him sympathetically and sad. "You will be a great hero, child. I will do my best to prepare you. But if I'm right about the path ahead of you…."
Thunder boomed overhead, rattling the windows. No doubt Zeus isn't too pleased.
"Alright!" Chiron shouted. "Fine!" He then sighed in frustration.
"The gods have their reasons, Percy. Knowing too much of your future is never a good thing."
"We can't just sit back and do nothing." Percy retorted.
"We won't." Alex said.
"Exactly. We will not sit back." Chiron promised. "But you must be careful. Kronos wants you to come unravelled. He wants your life disrupted, your thoughts clouded with fear and anger. Do not give him what he wants. Train patiently. Your time will come."
"Assuming I live that long." Percy coolly muttered.
Chiron then put his hand on his ankle. "You'll have to trust me, Percy. You will live. But first you must decide your path for the coming year. I cannot tell you the right choice…." He paused, like he was trying to get words out that he doesn't entirely agree with. "But you must decide whether to stay at Camp Half-Blood year round, or return to the mortal world for seventh grade and be a summer camper. Think on that. When I get back from Olympus, you must tell me your decision."
The look on Chiron's face told Percy that there is to be no more discussion as he said as much as he possibly could.
"I'll be back as soon as I can." He then promised. "Argus will watch over you."
Chiron then turned to Alex.
"Since you have Kronos' attention, you'll have to be careful out there, Alex." Chiron said.
Alex sighed. "Have to deal with demons and monsters atop Kronos' attention on me? Lovely." He said sarcastically before nodding. "I'll be fine, Chiron."
Chiron then glanced over to Annabeth "Oh, and, my dear… whenever you're ready, they're here."
Annabeth nodded as Alex gave her a soft smile while Percy had a look of confusion on his face.
"You're giving it another shot aren't you?" He said with Annabeth nodding.
"Yeah I figured it was time I tried again with my dad." She said, making Percy look a little surprised.
"You're going to stay with your dad again?"
"I took your advice to heart." she said before Percy began to move out of the bed.
"What are you doing?" Annabeth asked but saw that just as Percy was about to slide his legs out of the bed, Alex walked up to him and gave him a little chop across the neck which rendered him uncounisous.
"Why did you do that?" Annabeth asked a little sceptically while Alex shrugged.
"So he doesn't strain himself."
She shrugged and they left, letting Percy sleep. When they were outside the camp looked empty.
"So you sure about this?" Alex asked as Annabeth nodded.
"It's time I tried again. Percy had a point with people being able to change. I want to see that." She said.
"Well, you know if things don't go as planned you have a room at Devil May Cry. I'm sure dad would be happy to see you again." Alex offered, making Annabeth smile before she hugged him, and he hugged her back.
"Thank you."
"You're like my little sister, Annie. What kind of big brother would I be if I didn't protect you?" Alex asked, kissing the top of her head which made her smile and hug him tighter.
She may have lost Luke, but she had gained a big brother in Alex.
"When I get back next summer." She said. "We'll hunt down Luke. We'll ask for a quest, but if we don't get approval, we'll sneak off and do it anyway. Agreed?"
"Look at you, you little rebel." Alex said teasingly. "I've been a bad influence on you, or maybe Percy has."
"Shut up." Annabeth nudged him in the stomach. "Tell Seaweed Brain i said goodbye."
"I will." Alex nodded, watching as she grabbed a pack and bag that had been sitting at the side before she walked off towards Half Blood Hill. Waiting atop of the hill was a figure waiting there. Alex guessed it was her dad.
Alex turned around and felt the wind blow around and him sweeping his hair. The wind felt warm and it felt like someone caressed his cheek. Alex smiled before he looked to the sky.
Taking a bus to Hell's Kitchen was easy, and so was getting off not far from Devil May Cry. However, as Alex took a few steps ahead he bumped into someone, a male.
"Watch it!" The male said sharply.
"You watch it!" Alex countered then blinked when he got a look at the male.
He was probably a few years older than Alex, maybe seventeen. He had the same white hair that Alex had his dad had, blue eyes, wore a long, dark blue coat with a red inner lining with a strange insignia sewn into both shoulders. The coat has a brown harness. Under the coat he wears a red zip-up hoodie/vest with two zippers under his coat, a black shirt beneath that. On his left wrist, he has a red wristband held in place with a small brown belt. His legwear consists of a pair of blue pants held up by a belt with a rose buckle. Over his pants, he wears brown thigh straps with small belts in them. He wears brown boots that go halfway up his shins.
Oh, and let's not forget the demonic right arm that was a fucking eyesore.
Alex looked at the arm, then at the teen, then back to the arm and his eyes narrowed which made the teen's eyes narrow.
They drew their guns, the teen drawing a revolver, and Alex drawing Eclipse and Phantom.
Before they could fight, demons popped up around them which caused the two teens to look. The older teen sighed. "Of course."
"They sure know when to pop in unannounced." Alex remarked, before glancing at the older teen while holstering his guns. "What's your name?"
"Nero."
"Nero... Name's Alex."
"Alex?" Nero looked at him and narrowed his eyes a little. "You're Dante's kid, right? Not a bad name."
Curious on how he knew his dad but putting it aside for now as he summoned Wolfsbane, Alex smirked. "Neither is yours."
That got a smirk from Nero as he took off the sword on his back, stabbed it into the ground and... revved it up. Okay, that was pretty awesome.
The demons lunged at the boys, and Alex grinned before he leaped with Nero, the two of them swinging their swords and cutting down the demons in their way. Then, Alex went into a one-knee crouch, ducking Nero's sword, and drew his guns again.
"Jackpot!" He shouted.
BANG! BANG!
AND SCENE! That does it for book one in the Alexander Redgrave and the Olympians series. Book two will be Sea of Monsters, and I'm going to commit to it this time unlike what I did before. Don't know when I'll have it out or even start working on it, hopefully soon.
