AN: Hello again, to another one-shot idea for my realm of Dream. This time, it will be another Gridman crossover idea.
I don't own either Accel World or Gridman as I'm writing this for fun.
Accel Gridman World
A young man with black hair and green eyes in gray pajama waked up in what looks like a restaurant. This is Setsuna Kido.
"Huh? This is not my room…" The young man said confused and surprised.
"Sorry, if this is overwhelming. I'm still trying to arrange things in order to make it comfortable." A voice said as the young man turned around see a redhair teen around his age with blue eyes.
The redhair boy wore a grey vest, adorned with a red line around the collar, and a simple white shirt and black slacks. His colorful sneakers tapped the floor, as if testing its stability, as he tugged nervously at his red armband.
"Who are you and what is this place?" Setsuna asked.
"My name is… well, it was Yuta Hibiki. At least, it was in one world." He let out a sigh, running a hand through his red hair. "However… I suppose it'd be more accurate to call me Gridman."
This made the young man looked surprised at him. "Gridman…? Is that really you?" he asked as he remembered the metal giant. But this couldn't be Gridman, right?
"I am." Yuta said.
"Where in the world are we?" Setsuna asked.
"We're… in my mind. But you can say our mind due to the fact that we connected with each other. Though I'm using form of someone who is still linger my existence." Yuta explains as he noticed Setsuna looks confused. "I guess it hard to describe. But it like sharing the same apartment with your family, though it different since we're in the same mind."
"Yeah… I can get what you're saying since reminded of the virtual world where everyone can go and chat with each other." Setsuna said. "Though I'm not sure what exactly you are?" he asked to the redhair boy. "Are you human?"
"This might take a while to explain… will you listened?" Yuta asked.
"Well, I have nothing else to do." Setsuna shrugged before sat down on one of the chairs.
It wasn't long until Yuta explains how he was original one entity known as Gridman and from the Hyper World. He was chasing after an enemy known as Alexis Kerib which result his consciousness being split into different beings with different personalities.
Yuta told him about how he and the others wake up in a strange city. At that point, the original body of real Yuta Hibiki he have no choice to inhabit in order to survive and his original memories were locked away. While another part of him as Gridman inhabit a computer known as Junk. He thought that he was originally a vector for Gridman to enter the world.
Apparently, Alexis Kerib took root in the same world as him, but with the purpose of manipulating an innocent girl into being his avenue to power. But with the help of new friends and allies, Gridman recalled who he was and save both the city and the girl Kerib had so cruelly manipulated to her own ends.
"… that is a lot to take. But if it wasn't for the Kajiu for responsibility nearly got the hospital's network fried, I won't believe in all of this stuffs in the first place." Setsuna said.
This made Yuta smile. "It wasn't long after getting back to my world and Alexis's core being sealed off that I would look for a new mission… but someone stolen Alexis's core."
This made Setsuna looks wary. "Do you have any ideas on who stole it?" he asked.
"I have no idea…" Yuta answered with a frown. "But whoever they are, they're powerful enough to break through our security and escape unscratched into this world."
"I see…" Setsuna said, "But there is something I want to ask you. Why did you help me and my sister when you're supposed to be looking for the one who responsibility for theft of Kerib's core? Why?" he asked confused at his goal.
"Of course. If there's one thing I've learned over my travels, Setsuna..." Yuta insisted, reaching out across the table to pat Setsuna on the shoulder. "It's the importance of helping who you can, as you can. If it's something only you can do…" His eyes, fierce with determination, shone bright. "...then there's no reason not to do it."
Setsuna cannot help but look surprised at how honest Yuta was. Something about his words makes Setsuna felt like he can trust him. "Thank you."
Yuta let out a small smile at his words. "Though there is something I want to ask. I know that human technology evolved over time here. But I want you to clarify me on this."
Yuta soon materialized Setsuna's Brain Burst program in front of him.
"Can you tell me what it is?" Yuta asked. "After I bonded with you, this program seems to bond with me as I somehow replaced the avatar that you originally have here."
Setsuna soon showed a distant expression upon looking at the Brain Burst program before letting out a sigh.
"Brain Burst… is a fighting game." Setsuna answered.
"A fighting game?" Yuta raised an eyebrow at Setsuna's answer.
"You can say it… where all of the violence in the human world takes place in a virtual world," Setsuna explains. "Accel World."
"What do they gain from fighting in this game?" Yuta asked.
"To obtain burst points in order to accelerate the person's conscious in the real world. It can alter 1 second into 1/1000 second in the real world." Setsuna explains as this made Yuta look surprised.
"A program that allowed you to move that fast in the real world? What they do use for this power?" Yuta asked.
"A lot of players saved up burst points in order to do vary things. Depend on the morals of the players." Setsuna said with a neutral expression, "but the game is mostly kept secret from the adults."
"Why is that?"
"Brain Burst was sent to children, no one knows who send it to them and the application of the game was spread around children. As for how many, most people I know say around 1000. Accel World is dominated by six different legions. They are lead by the strongest players are known as the Six Kings of Pure Colors." Setsuna explains.
"What legion were you part of, Setsuna?" Yuta asked.
"I was in the Red Legion but I left it behind after… unforeseen incident." Setsuna answered, thinking about Red Rider's deletion.
"What happened?" Yuta asked with a concerned expression.
"The previous leader of Red Legion got deleted…" Setsuna answered.
"People get killed in the game?!" Yuta asked with an alarmed expression. Setsuna shakes his head.
"Not exactly. The memories of the time in Accel World and interaction with others will be completely erased from their mind as it doesn't kill those in real life. But you can never get back into Brain Burst again after you lose." Setsuna explains calmly.
This explanation seems to calm down Yuta.
"So they don't really have any bad conditions happened after Brain Burst programs were removed from them?" Yuta asked. Setsuna nodded.
"If that is true, then I won't have to worry about what I might do to their real bodies in the real world." Yuta said. "Setsuna, I know this might be hard… but will you help me in fighting the one who responsible for the appearance of Kajin in this world? There is no doubt that it could be the same thief who steals Kerib's core." he asked.
"I might not want to go back to that Accel World… but I will help you out with your mission. If I leave things like this, no doubt, everything will become worse." Setsuna said before a frown appeared on his face. "But I want you to be aware that if Brain Burst users find out about you, they will tried to recruit you into their legions… or worse, deleted you." He warned grimly.
"I understand," Yuta said.
The next day, Setsuna was seen standing in the subway station as he was on his way to school.
Setsuna adjusting his tie a bit before staring at the Acceptor on his left arm. Yuta told him to keep it on him at all time if he needed help against the Kajiu. Although Setsuna is curious if anyone going to commented him about wearing a toy to school…
But still I need to be careful of transforming due to transforming will drain a lot of energy from my Neurolinker… Setsuna thought. It still hard for him to believe that merged with Gridman will used a lot of energy.
It wasn't that long before the train arrived as Setsuna and everyone else got on after the doors were open.
It wasn't long as classes went by, Setsuna was seen resting on the rooftop of the school after finished his lunch. It's the only place where not a lot of people would go due to three sets of stairs to reaching up to the rooftop.
"I was wondering where you were…" A female voice said with a slightly teasing tone.
Setsuna opened his eyes and seeing a certain brown hair girl looking at him with an amusing look upon in her blue eyes.
"Oh hey, Fuuko…" Setsuna greeted.
"I heard your sister was in the hospital… was she alright?" Fuuko asked.
"She'll recover. She nearly got hurt when the hospital network went haywire but no one could figure out what went wrong." Setsuna explains. But it was fortunate that Gridman that showed up and stops the Kajiu from destroying the network.
"That is the first time I hear of something like that happened before…" Fuuko said with a concerned expression.
"At least she'll get better soon enough." Setsuna shrugged.
Soon Fuuko noticed the Acceptor on Setsuna's wrist. "Huh? I never thought that you were interested in wearing an accessory today." Fuuko said before chuckled. "So you decided that it will make you popular with girls."
This made Setsuna chuckled at his old rival. "Nah… I only wear because I think it's really cool and don't care about that." One thing that he is annoyed about was the guys in school holding grudge for him being friendly with Fuuko despite that they aren't dating. They're more of old rivals and friends due to the times that they build in that other world. However, Setsuna noticed her become a bit more overbearing when being around him which made him wonder if what happens with her former legion impact her more. But he chooses not to say anything unless she wants to tell him.
"But where did you get it?" Fuuko asked curious.
"That is a secret." Setsuna answered.
Fuuko looks at the blue button and curious about what does Setsuna's accessory do before they both heard the fire alarm was ringing through the entire school building.
"Huh? I don't remember there was a fire drill for today." Setuna commented surprise.
"It looks like we should get going now." Fuuko said as Setsuna got himself up from the ground.
"Yeah, we should…" Setsuna said before the two went down the staircase.
It wasn't long until Setsuna and Fuuko went down the staircases to follow up with other students and faculties are going while the fire alarm was going on. Though on the through the hallway, the light bulbs above them exploded in the process as this caused panic and fear among the students and staff.
"What in the world is going on here?" Fuuko looks shocked at this unexpected scene.
Suddenly Setsuna stopped as he hear beeping sounds from his Acceptor and looks at it. It wasn't hard for him to know what this could mean as a virtual screen with Gridman's face showing in front of him.
"Gridman…" Setsuna said, becoming serious.
"Emergency! A monster is rampaging in your school's computer world!" Gridman said.
"That explains some stuffs." Setsuna said before closing the virtual screen first.
"Setsuna, who in the world was that?" Fuuko asked, very confused at who he was talking with.
"Sorry, Fuuko. I'll do something about what's going on. Get out of here with everyone else." Setsuna replied to his friend before runs down the hallway.
"Wait, Setsuna!" Fuuko shouts before running after him.
Setsuna soon find a place where no one else around and pressed the button on the Acceptor.
"Access… Flash!" Setsuna shouts.
Soon Setuna turned into light energy before vanished out of thin air as Fuuko's eyes wide in shocked at her friend's disappearance out of thin air.
Setsuna soon appeared in an emptiness black space as his form starting shifting right now. In his place was a red being garbed in a silver chest plate, with white gauntlets and greaves and a silver helmet with a blue light in his forehead and yellow eyes.
This is Gridman, though he wasn't a giant at this moment. He was more the size of a full grown adult man. Soon there was a small virtual desktop in front of him as it wants the access code.
He soon types down the code in English.
GRIDMAN
It wasn't long until a bright portal appeared in front of him. Gridman soon flies through it and enters the school's network. To his shock, the place looks almost destroyed completely and smokes can be seen in the air.
The one who is responsible was a large, nautilus-like monster with a large yellow eye. The shell of the monster was gray and dark blue, there are also spikes made of diamond appeared on the shell. The monster is continued devouring data particles into its jaw.
Soon Gridman land on the ground before raising his left hand into the air. It wasn't long until Gridman become larger as the monster itself and standing face to face against it.
"First to stop it from devour the rest of the network by focusing on another target…" Gridman said before raising his left hand. "Grid Beam!"
Soon Gridman firing a powerful laser beam from his left arm at the monster. This certainly hits the nautilus monster and stop it from devouring the rest of the school network.
The monster in return, slammed its' large appendages toward Gridman who used both of his arms to blocking the attacks. Soon Gridman charged at the monster and jumped up into the air.
"Gridknight Saber!" An energy sword conjured from the bracer on his left arm as Gridman slash the monster downward.
The monster flinched from Gridman's attack and staggered back a few feet. Suddenly Gridman noticed that the Monster was tensing up. This gives Gridman bad feeling in the process.
The mollusk-like monster launched its tentacles toward Gridman. Gridman jumps out of the way before gathering energy into his left wrist.
"Spark Beam!" Gridman shouts before firing a series of energy projectiles at the monster.
The monster didn't seems to be bother by the energy projectiles before Gridman noticed that the tentacles of the monster was glowing before firing at an empty area of the school's network. It soon revealed to be a portal. But it wasn't just any ordinary portal, a large portal to the real world.
"Damn… that is why it was eating everything here. It was trying to get into the real world!" Gridman said in a realization of the ability of the monster. He saw the monster was tried to make its way through the portal.
"No, you don't!" Gridman shouts, grabbing the monster's by its large shield to halt its advancement toward the gate. But the monster keep pressing onward in order to reach the real world.
However, Gridman was doing the same to prevent it from moving into the real world. Soon the monster got annoyed of Gridman's persistence and lashed out on him by swing its tentacles at him.
This sent Gridman rolling across the ground as the Monster fired its tentacles at Gridman, to further hurting him relentless in the process. But it wasn't that just the only thing Gridman worried about as the blue light glowing on his helmet starting to make 'beep' sound.
This indication that the Neurolinker losing more power in the process. If it continued losing power, then both Gridman and Setsuna Kido will be deleted for certain.
"I will not lose…!" Gridman shouts before charging forward at the monster once again.
When the monster unleashed its tentacles at him again. Gridman caught one of the tentacles and swings it with all his might. This caused the nautilus monster to gone flying in the air and land hard upside down on the ground. Soon Gridman soon jumped forward and released a downward karate chop in order to break the teeths of the monster, causing the monster screamed further in pain.
Gridman soon lift the large monster in the air and tossed it into the air, sending it helpless through the air.
"Time to finish this…!" Gridman said before jumping extremely high into the air. "Neo-Superconductivity Kick!" Gridman then came down and landed a powerful kick to the monster's torso as a small burst of energy from the impact before the monster was sent lying away and skipping over the ground.
At that, the monster crackling and being destroyed in the process. With the monster destroyed, the portal to the real world vanished in the process.
Soon Gridman let out a sigh before he get both of his arms closed to him before the yellow gem on his chest glowing and firing sparkling beam across the ruined network. It wasn't long after the fire, the school's network starting to repair itself and returns back to normal in the process.
With nothing else left for him to do, Gridman soon set out to return to the real world on his own before the remaining power of his Neurolinker become depleted.
In an unknown area, a shadow like being was watching the footage of Gridman destroying the monster that was send to that network. Soon the screen turned off immediately.
"I know you were to show up again… Gridman," The shadow figure said with uttered hatred glares at the Hyper Agent. "I swears that I will get my everlasting vengeance... Hyper Agent."
AN: That is the end for my second opinion for Gridman one-shot. I'm always want to see someone tried to work Gridman with either Accel World or Sword Art Online as crossover for once. The Neurolinker will served in the Junker's place, not to mention it will still also take a lot of power to maintain Gridman's transformation.
Anyway, be sure to review or message me for any questions, comments, or concern. And don't be afraid to look at my other stories.
