"Sir you must understand, the reports are still delayed. The first word of anything changing just reached the hold late the night prior. I assure you that you will be the first to hear of his return as soon as I am any the wiser." Avenicci was quick to placate the wise Nord's worries, assuring him that it was too soon to jump to conclusions about the fate of the Goblin Slayer.
"A dragon is attacking a village in my hold and you expect me to stand idly by while my own people are slaughtered?" The harshly worded response made the balding steward cringe in fear, the anger in the blond Nord's eyes making him rethink his decision to speak his words.
"I have stood by in the past while my people suffered and there is not a day that goes by I fail to forget that. Yet here you are asking me to do so once again?" Balgruuf practically barked, hand falling to his side as he rose from his throne with an air of battle surrounding him. He cast his eyes around the room, gazing at the litany of eager men and women who had come to the call, swords in hand, ready to go forth and defend those who could not defend themselves.
"We thought dragons were creatures above even the Nord's, monsters that no mere mortals could ever hope to best in combat. Yet even then we felled that beast that day, and I have confidence we could do so again." He stepped forward into the candlelight, his guards all roaring in preparation for a battle soon to come.
Avenicci swallowed thickly, the chorus of roaring Nord's filling the hall with the sounds of eager warriors ready to test their blade arms in a life or death battle. The last thing they needed with the potential of a war on the front was a majority of Whiterun's army rushing off to slay a dragon a day's journey west of the city.
He knew that Ulfric was a smart if not a notoriously dangerous man. If he was planning anything at all, he'd strike when they all least expected it. And the people would be hard pressed to defend themselves in the battle to come.
They'd be wiped out before they had a chance to gather their bearings. That couldn't be allowed to happen, dragons be damned.
And yet…
He was also aware that Balgruuf could not stand by the side while his own people became the food of an ancient beast if he held the power to do something about it.
It was without a doubt a terrible situation to be in. It was also why the adventurer's guild existed in the first place, to mitigate the danger to the city by taking jobs not suited to the soldiers stationed there.
It was why he'd requested their aid upon learning of a Dragon involved with Rorikstead, yet, bafflingly, they'd declined to offer their aid. They stated that Aela had already journeyed to the village days prior, and until she failed to return then they would not lend a finger.
Although he never inquired so as to why they seemed so confident, but their smiles must have spoke volumes of their faith in her.
Or…
Perhaps it wasn't just their faith in that woman, but…
Their faith in Goblin Slayer.
The conversation was suddenly just silent as the doors to Dragon's Reach opened without warning, the cold air of winter seeping inside like a particularly angry viper. The chorus of battle cries and demands for battle quickly faded away as attention was drawn towards the entrance to the hall, a familiar golden armored man standing just inside, the glow of his vile red eyes seen from the shadows of his helmet.
Avenicci sighed in relief as the man in question stepped into the hall, followed shortly behind him a band of women. Some he knew, others he did not.
Balgruuf blinked in surprise at the sudden return of Goblin Slayer, his presence desire for battle fading away at the sight of a dragon's skull dragging across the floor, the horn that was attached to it clutched tightly in the man's hand.
On his right and looming affectionately close to him was Serana, the big busty vampire dawning her relatively new plate-mail that clung tightly to her plump curvaceous body. Her dark black hair seemed to absorb the light in the hall, her golden vampiric slitted eyes glowing in the dimly lit halls like a torch.
Standing beside the woman was a new woman dawning very revealing overalls that left little to the imagination, her long red locks drawing attention towards the daedric horns growing from the side of her head and the large bat like wings sprouting from her backside. She seemed hesitant to draw attention to herself, hiding slightly behind the vampire as if to appear small.
To Goblin Slayer's left, however, was the lethe leather armored form of the one and only Alea the Huntress, pack leader of the Companions guild. Her armor seemed to have seen better days since anyone in the hall had last laid their eyes upon her form, the strips that covered her doing little to protect her modesty. Perhaps that's why she stood in beautiful yet dangerous half wolf form, long furry tail swinging lightly behind her, furred ears atop her head twitching lightly in the cold.
The young Priestess girl stood next to her, dawning a new set of chainmail underneath her also ruined white garments, tatters left of her once beautiful white robes, red staining the once holy apparel. She clutched her staff tightly in her hands, but she didn't seem as on edge as her appearance might have eluded to.
Then finally attention was drawn to the Slayer's helmet, the Fire Atronach the hall had unfortunately become relatively familiar with seen resting atop the man's helmet, her plump pixie body sized perfectly to rest atop his head. The fiery busty form of Ignis had once more dawned her travel sized body, her legs hanging in front of the man's eyes as she held onto his horned helmet for support. She was seemingly well aware of the unease her presence created, so she did well to not act in a manner to cause alarm and remained small to keep the peace.
All in all, it seemed as if the party he'd sent out days prior had all returned alive and well, yet with a new potentially dangerous face in tow.
Balgruuf sighed in defeat, slowly shambling back to his throne as he sank down once more, leveling a tired gaze at the Goblin Slayer. A man who seemed content on constantly testing his patience by bringing in more and more otherworldly women into his hold every time he saw him.
He wasn't even sure he had it in him to grow angry anymore. With the very real threat of war hanging overhead he just did have time to bicker about the topic of the odd adventurer coming into his city with a handful of women, all of whom worried his citizens for one reason or another.
He sighed again, slumping in his heat as he leveled his gaze at the man in question, watching as he approached his throne with a firm grip on the skull of a dragon. Goblin Slayer waltzed past the many guards who all stood in awe, up the few steps before dropping the skull at the feet of Avenicci with a noncommittal grunt.
"Rorikstead is safe. Dragon's dead now." He muttered simply, turning to look at Balgruuf curiously.
The Nord's eyes twitched. "Goblin Slayer… An explanation for why you have brought another demon into my hold would be appropriate." He muttered, feeling akin to a tired father instead of a Jarl he was supposed to be.
Goblin Slayer didn't say anything for a long moment, blinking curiously before glancing back at Cow Girl, then back to the patiently waiting Nord leader. The succubus waved at the Nord meekly from behind Serana, his narrowed eyes spooking her.
Goblin Slayer raised a hand to his chin, dawning a thinking pose for a brief few moments before he reached a conclusion that may go about clearing everything up. Nodding to himself he turned his attention back to Balgruuf who was still waiting for an answer.
"She is my wife." He said decidedly, hoping that would clear everything up. Then he thought to clarify himself, something he'd been doing a lot lately. But then he was struck with the reality that the ranch hand had never been given a proper name before, which posed a problem now…
Hmmm…
He thought deeply for s long moment, hand to his chin in thought, before it finally came to him. He glanced back to the redhead in question, her soft purple eyes lighting up when she noticed his attention was on her. "Roxy." The man muttered in confirmation, attention back on the Nord leader. He missed the way the ranch hand's eyes widened, her heart racing beneath her breasts, feeling touched.
A name…
She…?
She had a name now.
Perhaps he didn't think much of it, and maybe other people probably wouldn't feel as if it was that exciting yet… She couldn't have been happier. She's decided to give herself to him, and he'd felt it important enough to grace her with a proper name.
She'd cherish it.
Meanwhile…
Balgruuf's eyes twitched, before he gave up with a sigh. "Very well…" He huffed, resisting the urge to shake his head. "I do want to compensate you for your deeds today, Avenicci has the gold proper for your accomplishments set aside. If there is anything else you can think of that I may be able to offer you, do not hesitate to ask. Although you may not know it, you do hold a rather high rank and esteem within my hold. As thane of Whiterun you are offered certain privileges in the land, I do believe I failed to mention this our last meeting together." The Nord clarified.
Goblin Slayer blinked in confusion, simply staring at the Nord as if hoping to acquire the answer to his newfound questions. Thankfully those in the hall had a translator well versed in the intricacies of the vocabulary used by the Slayer of Goblins.
Serana cleared her throat, tugging on the man's arm to gain his attention. Goblin Slayer blinked, glancing down to the vampire curiously. She smiled up at him, the redness of her cheek practically glowing on her supple white skin. "It's a title that means that the people here hold a lot of respect for you. It also means that you have more options as a citizen of the hold on what you can do." She explained with a brilliant smile, glad to finally get the chance to display her knowledge on certain subjects.
Finally his eyes widened in understanding. "Oh." He hummed in acknowledgment, turning back to Balgruuf with a new question fresh in mind. "Does that mean I can buy a house?" He questioned the man.
The Nord leader's eyes widened in surprise. "You'd wish to purchase a home here in Whiterun?" He asked curiously, reaching up to scratch at his beard in thought. "Whatever for? I haven't taken you for the type to settle down."
The golden armored man shrugged. "No goblins come out in winter." He clarified, as if that covered just about everything that it needed to.
Really, however, he needed some place larger to spend his downtime. In the past when winter came he usually hovered around the local inn, assisting the townsfolk wherever and whenever possible. But now he realized that he couldn't do that anymore with so many more people in tow.
He couldn't ask Serana, Aela, Ignis, Priestess, and Roxy to reside at the inn or guild hall for a couple of months while he waited for spring to arrive. They needed somewhere to stay that wasn't crammed in a room together, so he thought a house would be a good idea. He hadn't asked their opinions yet, quite simply the idea had literally just appeared in his head that moment he asked.
Balgruuf's eyes twitched at the man, instead directing his attention to the happy vampire hanging off of his arm for a more thorough examination. Serana's smile widened at the realization she was being addressed.
"The cold air of winter sends goblins into hibernation this time of year. Coupled with the dangerous weather and their lack of presence, it would be a waste of time and resources to try and hunt them down while they are in hiding. So my Master plans on staying here for the winter… but… well…" The vampire seemed all too excited to offer a detailed explanation, but trailed off with a hint of redness dusting her cheeks. "One bed at the Inn simply isn't large enough to hold all of us comfortably…" She muttered, face heating up as she addressed the Nord leader.
Balgruuf's eyes widened, clearing his throat in understanding. "Ah, I see. Quite the conundrum indeed." He coughed, regaining his composure. "Avenicci, see to it you are able to acquire the proper accommodations for our Thane and his wives at once."
The balding man's eyes widened, mouth slightly agape. "A-Accommodate them all, sir?" He feared to ask again, glancing back to the six of them. Six people he was going to need to home in one household?
By the gods, he was going to have his work cut out for him…
And…
What if Goblin Slayer brought home even more women? He was going to need even more rooms then!
By the nine…
Perhaps a new manor was in order to accommodate them all.
"G-Goblin Slayer, sir? Are we going to be able to find some place to live?" Priestess spoke up quietly, eyes widening in excitement at the prospect of a more proper place to lay her head at night. She was by no means a picky little girl, and she very much appreciated everything he had done for her thus far, but…
Sharing the rather small bed in the guild hall with the man alongside the other girls was not the most comfortable place to sleep, and…
Well, it was a tad embarrassing that they all slept naked together as well. Having a bed of her own would mean the world to her.
Not that she was complaining!
But maybe it would mean the other girls would also have a place to sleep that didn't involve his bed every night, s-so that he could have some private time to himself…
Then maybe she…
…
…
…
She sighed, realizing that she was getting worked up for nothing.
"I agree. It would be wonderfully ideal to have a more proper place to lay my head at night. The guild hall does not have the proper accommodations for the all of us." Aela sighed in agreement, hand on her hips. "We've acquired enough funds to secure a sizable home here in the city, if one is available." She made note to mention, well aware of the funds their group had collected over their time together. That and apparently Goblin Slayer had a good collection of gold to his name long before he'd met any of them, years of goblin slaying jobs that paid decent coin, coin he often never spent.
"A-A home? I'd never even imagined I'd get to share one with Goblin Slayer…" Cow-Girl muttered to herself, holding her hands to her cheeks. The guards nearest to her watched her warily as her large black feathered wings flapped about nervously. She'd dreamt it sure, but actually believing it would and or could one day come true?
She'd never really considered it possible until now.
"I do find the idea of a more private living quarters to share with you quite appealing, my Master. I too agree with this desire for new housing arrangements." Ignis mumbled quietly from atop his helmet, her little voice barely heard in the hall.
Goblin Slayer found his attention drawn back down to Serana, the bashful smiling vampire flushed as she tugged on his arm. "I'd love a house with you, Master." She admitted happily, heart fluttering the softness in his glowing red eyes.
The slayer of goblins finally turned his attention back to the Jarl, nodding to himself. "Yes. I would like a house." He said, stating the obvious.
"B-But that's quite the number of people to accommodate into one house…" Avenicci muttered to himself in horror, the prospect of trying to acquire a building large enough for all of them to live in comfortably didn't seem too feasible, yet given the funds he had it wouldn't be impossible either…
"Will that be a problem, Avenicci?" Balgruuf raised an eyebrow in question, eyeing the sweating steward.
"N-No sir. I shall make the proper preparations immediately." Avenicci offered a quick bow, turning to Goblin Slayer for the required compensation. "I shall require fifty gold coins for the proper housing situation and furnishings. If there are funds left over I shall return them to you promptly. I do not believe that there is a home that can suit your needs as of this moment. However, one can be build if you are interested." He clarified, taking the bag of gold the armored man handed him.
"Ok." The man in question hummed, not questioning him further. Avenicci's expression fell at the other man's nonchalance but decided not to inquire any further. He took the funds and set out to speak with the proper people about constructing the Hero of Whiterun a home for him and his many wives to live in.
By the gods, he was going to have his work cut out for him…
"Well then, it seems that everything has been accounted for. Good work, Goblin Slayer. I shall inform you when your home is completed. Until then, I hope the guild hall and the inn are able to accommodate you." Balgruuf smiled, shaking his head at the antics the man in question seemed to bring into his hall. It was the sort of levity that helped break up the stress that hung over a man in his position.
Goblin Slayer nodded. "Ok." He hummed, turning back around to face his companions. He had some time to kill now, and winter still had many days left before spring arrived. In the meantime it meant it was time to truly settle into the city life, and he wasn't so confident he knew how to do that besides helping out wherever he could.
That said, he did have one specific thing in mind that needed to be tended to before the time came to set out on another quest. "Cow-Girl." He muttered to himself, drawing the half succubus's attention. The winged redhead squeaked at being singled out in the hall, face turning red as the armored man walked up to her.
"Y-Yes, sir?" She asked meekly, clasping her hands together nervously. He hadn't asked anything of her since she joined his side as his wife, so she'd been a bit antsy as to when he may ask such of her.
Whatever it may be.
She was ready to offer it!
E-Even though it made her super nervous because she'd never been with a man before and the thought of sharing a bed with him was extremely appealing if not embarrassing at the same time-
"I want to buy you armor. The blacksmith made some for Serana. You get some too." He clarified simply, reaching up to pat her on the head. Her eyes snapped open wide the moment his hand came to rest atop her, a strange newfound desire bubbling up from within her. But as soon as it came it left, his hand falling back to his side. She wanted him to do that again…
Meanwhile, a certain vampire's eyes widened in glee. It felt like a rite of passage at this point, and now Cow-Girl was going to get sized up for a special suit of armor just for her. The redhead in question blinked in surprise when she suddenly found herself being lead by the hand out of Dragon's Reach, Serana practically bubbling with excitement as she dragged her to the blacksmiths down the road.
"E-Eh? Where are you taking me?" The redhead squeaked, wings fluttering around behind her as the vampire dragged her deeper into the city, seemingly uncaring of the baffled looks the citizens were giving the two monster women.
Serana grinned. "Armor shopping." She answered cheekily, offering a fanged smile that made the succubus's face turn red.
Goblin Slayer watched them go, a bit hesitant to see them wandering around the city without being by his side. The people of Whiterun thought highly of him and what he'd done for them, but they still feared and held resentment towards the monster women he called his own. No one had ever tried anything when they were by his side, but he did feel hesitant to see them go off on their own…
That said. "Let's go. I'm sure you're hungry." He glanced down to Priestess, the girl's stomach grumbling much to her embarrassment. They hadn't eaten since they left camp that morning and she was positively starving!
The girl's eyes widened in glee, smiling happily as she took off after him, the image of the inn's food fresh in her mind. She bit her lips nervously as she tentatively reached out to grab his armored hand, face heating up as he glanced down to lock eyes with her. "D-Do you want to go to the Drunken Huntsman?" She offered hopefully, bashfully averting her gaze.
His head tilted to the side, the name of the tavern unfamiliar to him. Nevertheless, if she wanted to go there then he wasn't going to turn her down. "Yeah." He hummed in agreement, missing the way her eyes lit up in excitement.
Aela smiled as she watched them go, deciding it was time to return to the guild hall for a moment to speak with Farkus about the winter.
Today was everyone's day off, and the short little Priestess seemed keen on spending it alone with Goblin Slayer. She wasn't going to interfere…

Yes I gave Cow-Girl a name. I felt it was right and I couldn't keep calling her that forever, just doesn't work in this type of story. If anyone has an idea for Priestess's name, send them my way please!
