The Original and The Wizard
Chapter 5
The Witches of Salem
AN: This story is a Harry Potter crossover with The Vampire Diaries, Twilight and whatever else may appear.
WARNINGS: This will be a somewhat very AU story. There will be time line changes of course, with location changes thrown in the mix too and at some stages, time jumps. That is the beauty of fan-fiction, you can change it to suit your own little twisted tale. There will be NO slash. This will be OOC.
I will be forthcoming with a heads up that my style of writing will be somewhat of a difference throughout my story from chapter to chapter, and even within them, as the progress of time changes throughout history.
Alas, it's also for the joys of being able to experiment in the world of fan-fiction. Notwithstanding the fact that, I, obviously was not there in the ways of conversation back from a thousand years ago. But I purely wish to explore and play with it a little, if not; a lot.
Enter at your own risk!
And most importantly, I hope you enjoy the ride with me.
Pairings will develop throughout the story, but more in the later chapters than the earlier ones.

Early 1600 A.D
It was nigh on two hundred years since they began hunting Katerina around the world. Niklaus was furious to once more be on the run, and long since lost his patience for it.
If they were not tracking a moonstone of centuries past, they were fleeing from Mikael.
Now, once more they were tracking the moonstone, fleeing from Mikael, with the additional burden of hunting Katerina.
It seemed to never end, and Niklaus often-times wondered if it ever shall. They were once safe and happy whence they had been at their home in the mountain.
Niklaus, understandably so, was most enraged upon hearing Katerina was no longer human, but now a Vampire; not only his chance, but so too his hope of breaking his curse came to an abrupt halt. Niklaus vowed to himself and his sibling's, to inescapably taking care of the wretched girl upon her being within his grasp.
Niklaus shall not be blamed of his mother, being as treacherous as her want to be, in order to not only place the curse upon him at the first but to also have it bound to the life of a doppelganger.
Niklaus lamented not protecting the stone with enchantments, but for his own sense of self, he and his family had been the only ones hitherto whom had been aware of the importance of the talisman and of whence it had been hidden. They shared to none of the true reason the Mikaelson's desired it, and therefore he knew not how Katerina ascertained about it.
Niklaus' patience not only departed him on the continuous travel over the world, but too departed him in relation to his brother, Kol.
It is to be a continuous battle for Niklaus and his siblings of the same argument often-times over the years.
"I am sorry Niklaus, as I have imparted unto you, I wish to cease with the fleeing for a time." Kol said angrily. "I am tired of it and only wish for a reprieve." He growled. Niklaus' jaw twitched in aggravation.
"You assume as unto being the only one, as to whom is tired, Kol?" Niklaus asked coldly. They managed to return to the Old' World and to be currently standing in the midst of a clearing amongst the forests of a glen.
"I shan't imply that Niklaus, I only desire to rest, as you imparted perfectly clear you shall not intend so, even after these past two hundred years." Kol hissed, throwing his arms up to the air in frustration.
"Perhaps it shall be better if he is to go Niklaus, it shan't do one of us any good to be constantly fighting with one another." Elijah said, attempting to establish peace, standing between the two men.
"I too am tired Kol, but we bestowed upon Niklaus a promise." Rebekah sighed. "Shall you have us betray him?" She entreated sadly. Niklaus glanced upon her face to see the wariness within her blue eyes.
"I shall never request that Rebekah, as you shall know," Kol answered indignantly, "I am merely requesting I desire for a break, to be free of it. My boots are wearing thin accompanying my patience of nary a life!" His jaw drawing taut as she bestowed upon him a most unladylike glance.
Niklaus peered upon the rest of his sibling's and saw the same wariness reflected within each their eyes. He felt the desire to release them of his company. "If you shall all desire to depart me, so it is to be, I shan't keep you attached to me in companionship if it shall not be what you wish, I shall hold you to me no more." He offered unemotionally, his dark eyes blank within a face as hard as stone.
Rebekah's mouth fell agape as she eyed him in surprise. Elijah glowered at him angrily, and Kol narrowed his eyes suspiciously.
He felt within himself to bestow upon his family the duty of allowing them to be free of him, if they chose not to act upon it, they shall no longer impart the blame upon him, for at most he shall not accept it.
"If that is to thy reasoning Niklaus, to what shall happen if we accept it upon your word and depart you at once?" Kol asked with distrust thick in his tone. He continued to stare at Niklaus with narrowed eyes.
Upon Niklaus' visage was nought to see but a slight uplift of his lip with the arising of a snarl. "Upon my word you have it, Kol, but I shall be honest enough to say unto you that I shall perhaps stake you where you stand. You may flee from me if you wish it, I shall not bother with you, but for a degree of respect you shall give." He snarled, dark blue eyes flashing threateningly. "I will not persist in your company upon me, begone if you must, you shalt betray me eventually no doubt upon it." He growled, unrelenting in allowing his anger to subside.
"I shall say it to be refreshing to hear upon your true thoughts upon me, as to betray you indeed, there is no reasoning within you Niklaus, you see monsters in us all." Kol scoffed, his lips turning up in distaste. "I shall be forever imparting, nay showing, thy trust in me to be a fickle monster within of itself." He gritted, with a shake of his head.
Rebekah growled softly interrupting both her brother's folly. "This shall help for nought, both of you are being prats upon this moment, and I shall be appalled to be known by you as thy sister, you both need to be apart from each other for a time, upon my word, it is all that shall heal you." She stated angrily, scowling for all her worth at her bickering brother's as she descended from the high branch she had perched herself upon.
Landing gracefully upon her feet, before folding her arms upon her chest, a glare upon her delicate features as she continued to gaze at her sibling's.
"Rebekah is right," Elijah agreed, "We each have become wary in our continuous travelling, but brother I implore upon you to see Kol shan't ever betray you but only impress upon you his desire to rest, he is want for nought but a bit of it," He sighed, brushing his fingers within his hair to be the only sign given unto his frustration, staring upon Niklaus in earnest, "I promise you Niklaus upon my honour, Rebekah and I shall be steadfast in accompanying you unto the end of it all." He implored, firm within his assurance.
Niklaus was thoughtful within his own peace of mind upon Elijah's words. "To say to me of the wariness you share, is indeed but a fraction of mine own, I shall no longer be selfish within it. You may go Kol, I implore it of you, lest you end it for betrayal upon me I shall not have it, I wish you well upon your own and pray for you to heed your movements, lest Mikael cometh upon you." Niklaus said finally, that to be as much of his blessing he wished to impart.
"Why, I shan't be remiss to thank you Niklaus, but if not for it I shall indeed only to be a beggar." He said with a roll of his eyes.
'Indeed,' Thought Niklaus, 'It only unbecoming for the gall of his brother.'
"Do, please attempt not to create for the affliction of it, Kol!" Elijah admonished, his narrowed brown eyes sharply stern upon the man. His brother's lack of patience, evident to Niklaus, indeed wearing thin at the continued argument.
Kol appeared contrite within the last of it upon his sigh as he glanced over once more to Niklaus. "I am sorry brother, I indeed wish no hardness to come betwixt us, you are forever more mine brother, that I shall harness with fondness always, but it can be too much upon the heart to bear oftentimes. It shan't be the last of us, I shall be in continuous correspondence; for if I am not, I shall regret it and become too lonely." He sighed once more, his lips rising upon a smile.
Niklaus shall do nought but regret the loss of a companion as fickle as the man whom is his brother, he understood desire to a point of impertinence, but be it upon him the regret of holding him hostage, as indeed he shan't do it no more.
Kol, wasted no time within his departure once it became agreed upon, accompanying only a brief goodbye with promises of many letters to become quite bothersome for them all. Niklaus' anger had abated by a small measure once it became clear he shall not convince his brother to stay, it was for want of his family to stay together and nought for any else that he argued so hard. In the end of it, it became an endeavour to continue it as it shall go nowhere.
"I promise indeed to write you all, I shall keep you abreast of all that I hear, upon my word I shall." Kol said fondly as he kissed Rebekah sweetly upon her pale cheek. "I shall miss you dear sister." He whispered reverently, knowing his brother's too heard but having nothing to hide in his honesty. He gently embraced her and held her to him for a lingering moment.
Niklaus listened as he intently scrutinised his brother upon the release of her, Kol gracefully walked towards Elijah and clasped his hand upon his forearm bringing upon him a brotherly embrace.
Kol paused as he turned to glance upon Niklaus, silently inquiring if he desired for any more than nary a word, a small nod from Niklaus to be an invitation of any blessing, Kol gave a fond smile and attempted to crush him with his embrace upon rushing to the man. "I truly hope you shan't ever doubt my loyalty to you Niklaus, I shan't ever betray you upon my honour." He said quietly, holding steadfast to his older brother as Niklaus' arms too encircled his younger brother.
Niklaus chuckled at the statement. "You shan't ever own honour, Kol. You appear to be too rebellious for the desire of it!" He smirked as they released each other.
"I shall say it to be true, in most," Kol lamented with a sigh, his lips raising in mirth belying his tone, "But for our family I shall say to disagree, only honour upon you all for within my heart I shall have it no other way." He smiled easily.
Bestowing his sibling's a last wave before silently disappearing, briskly apparating away.
The glen once more to be pressing quietly upon their ears but for the soft sounds of the small river in the distance.
Upon Kol's departure from them, the three sibling's took haste; as a monster on the heels, south towards London.
Upon arrival, once their eyes had landed upon the now larger town of London, no longer shall it be depicted as small whence the last they were upon the land of it, Rebekah, made to be sure of some comfortable accommodations for the siblings.
Niklaus, accompanied by Elijah, desired to hunt upon the least settled lanes of the town.
The darkness of night born upon London as the sun disappeared behind the horizon, the distant stars twinkling coldly betwixt the black velvet of the nightly sky.
Niklaus cast his eyes upon the small candle lit windows glowing enticingly in contrast to the evening sky surrounding them.
Indeed for Niklaus to be a Vampire he shall be glad of it, to neither be effected by the cold air of winter touching upon his skin, nor the penetrating chill unto enter deep within himself. The coldness of his person to be more chilling, and indeed feeling nothing of it.
They were perched upon a hilltop as they gazed upon the distant town. Scrutinising for the opportunity to arise whence they shall be capable of a silent feed.
Rebekah, needing neither a feed nor the company at this moment had desired to retire for the night in the chambers of their leased rooms.
Niklaus wished to await the moment that he established most appropriate, Elijah desired to walk closer to observe a disturbance upon the entrance of a church. The men's voices tickling Niklaus' ears upon reaching him once he listened with attention to the conversation. Niklaus and Elijah decided to heed the warning, clandestine amid approaching the church, keeping to the shadows of the buildings.
Upon arrival the two sibling's quietly leapt upon the rooftop of a building opposite the church, cast within the shadows of the turret. Lurking within the darkness of the night, desiring not to be perceived.
Their long black cloaks dancing upon the breeze around them as they regarded the men below.
"We needs to be careful, lest we wish to be the target." A man whom appeared unkempt in appearance sighed. Niklaus tilted his head slightly as he attempted to gather information.
'It shall seem Elijah to be right, I am indeed curious to know upon thy meaning of it.' Thought Niklaus, knowing within his heart to be mundane in men of the church to be talking of targets.
Always troubled times preyed upon the lands. Witches, Werewolf and Vampire hunts proceeding over the world, Niklaus and Elijah found within themselves a duty to know more upon the problem hereabouts lest they desired to forgo the obligation to protect their own.
A disreputable man concurred with the first as he nodded in agreement. "Indeed we must, I have heard tell to be nomads in the sewers by this nights end. We must make haste!" He affirmed quietly.
They appeared unto Niklaus to be conversing unto a man whom stood upon the church steps, implying him to be the leader. Only to be confirmed as true mere moments later.
"I shall not endanger the lives of many, on mere conjecture." The blonde haired leader replied.
"Your father shall have us there this very moment had he all the same been in charge to make it his worth in his duty, you are a pity upon him if you shall not heed us and act accordingly." The first speaker stated, distaste evident within his demeanour, "It shalt be upon you not to believe us as no mere speculation. We must rid us of this evil!" He vehemently finished.
"Indeed." The two other men agreed eagerly.
Niklaus shall surmise it was to be in these sewers that the vagabond's were to occupy themselves within upon a living quarter's for their own. They appeared the part of it at any rate of the coin, or lack thereof and wished for a small measure of humour within their plight for a life, he shall too surmise them to be trouble makers of the young blonde man of the church upon the appearance of it.
The blonde man appeared to be wary of the three men, gazing upon them akin to knowing the likes of them in dealings of the past, "I shall need evidence of it before I take heed upon your word. Mine father is neither within our conversation, nor am I to entitle you, as he in the past. I shall investigate your claim, I am witness to your word and see no need to gather a camp of men in order to carry it out upon this eve!" He stated gently. Niklaus shall say him impressed at the evident compassion and empathy the man displayed towards the beggar's, despite his firm words.
It was indeed evident to Niklaus that Elijah too was intrigued, knowing his brother true enough he shall say he was likewise impressed if not for the most.
"I shall gather more information on the morrow, and investigate upon the evening." The blonde haired man finished gently.
"Thy father shall have cometh immediately, Master Cullenson!" The disreputable man accused, pointing his digit upon the blonde man within his rudeness.
A quiet sigh hearkened upon Niklaus' ears from the blonde man hence beknown as Cullenson, assured upon the men none the wiser to it. "Mine father shall not be well for it, I shan't go rushing in lest more innocent lives shalt be lost unto us once more. Shall you bestow upon me the patience I bestow upon you for the morrow I shall help you?" He asked, a smile enough to sooth a child upon his countenance.
"I shall chance we hast but not a choice?" The unkempt man stated, glumness to be his companion upon his words. "Be it upon you, shall thy blood spoil the stone beneath thy body upon mine death." He concluded harshly.
"I shall but assure you to be safe and give three beds for the night upon you to rest," Cullenson offered softly. "We shall go on the morrow together, come what may we shall see it to the end of it, and assure you to the words being nought but a rumour." He reassured, kindness within his nature unto his temperament.
The men agreed to Mister Cullenson's terms upon the proffer beknown unto them hitherto they shall receive this night. The inner light of the church to be no more, once the men receded to the confines of it and closed the door behind.
Darkness once more to envelop the lane.
"What say thee brother," Niklaus interjected, "Shall we assume it upon thyself to investigate the claims?" He asked with a smirk, gazing over to Elijah. Curiosity upon the information resolved unto his mind.
Elijah turned upon Niklaus with nought but an intent gaze, eyes narrowed. "I believe we shall Niklaus, we shall be remiss to ignore it, shall it be nary but a rumour we shall be privy to it henceforth." He turned his brown eyes upon the closed door's of the church once more, determination upon his heart to be shewn within the depths of them, bright with resolve. Niklaus nought but wondered at it.
Niklaus, accompanied by Elijah unto the abhorrent sewers of London, indeed established for it to be nought but rumours.
Upon entrance, they heard nary a breath nor indication belonging neither unto human nor Vampire from within unto the tunnels below the ground, but only for the senses to be met by the pungent smells, accompanied by the scampering sounds of scuttling rats.
It now, to be apparent unto Niklaus of such things unto the beggar's claims, nought but a hoax, as he listened intently upon the chance he may have missed but a sign of it.
Once their curiosity were to be satisfied, they quickly returned unto the dreary lanes above, discretely feeding upon the nameless, before retiring for the night within the confines of their chambers.
The following morning Elijah was not to be found within their rooms, Rebekah had declared the desire for a small measure of luxury within the town upon her buying her worth in gowns, she insisted upon seeking no company from Niklaus during her outing as he neither desired to accompany her within what he shall say to be a venture.
Niklaus surmised it to be Elijah's intent to follow the man from the church, for the duration of the day, unto the evening to confront the man.
Niklaus trusted within his knowledge of his brother, to be sure within Elijah's desire to perhaps turn the man unto one of them. He saw enough within the brown eyes of him to follow his instinct and shadow his brother's movements, he desired to find the meaning behind it.
He shan't desire to halt Elijah unto his aspiration, but he shall remain curious to wish for the meaning of it.
Niklaus kept a distance away from the happenings as he observed, to give unto his brother the peace of mind of privacy unto his feeling upon the matter.
By the fall of evening, Niklaus was indeed to be right within his brother's intention as he followed him back unto the sewers of the previous night.
It shall seem, that although Mr Cullenson was indeed correct in his estimation upon there being no Vampire's within the sewers, he shall be surprised unto coming across one, upon his investigation.
The blonde man from the church arrived within the sewers within the company upon his own, his companions of the night before shan't no where to be seen.
Only to be met by Elijah.
Niklaus was nought but to find that Elijah unto his conversation upon the man, had indeed desired the want of changing him, a compassionate man such as he, would benefit the world upon his transformation, from one such as Elijah.
Elijah proceeded unto his plan, and within the duration of the transformation, Elijah had transfigured a rock into a ring to place it upon the mans finger.
Niklaus continued unto his observation, from a safe distance as to be unnoticed, unto the transformation was complete and Elijah had informed him he shall need to feed upon the blood of the living in order to survive.
By the next morn Elijah emerged from the sewers, leaving the man to fend for himself.
Elijah traversed along the only path Niklaus had known he shall, not deterred upon knowing himself to be noticed within his brother's approach.
Upon Elijah reaching him, he bestowed unto Niklaus a rather stiff nod, a hint of stubborn shame within the depth of his brown eyes unto seeing his brother waiting upon him.
Once Elijah reached unto Niklaus' side, Niklaus bestowed his guarded brother a smirk. "I shall think you shall wish to stay within the company of the man, shewing him upon the way he shall now be living his life?" Niklaus asked nonchalantly. Hoping his calmness shall abate his brother's mood upon seeing him.
Elijah turned to bestow upon him a quick glance before looking back upon the sewers. Determination upon his heart within his attempt to avoid Niklaus' inquiring dark eyes. "I shall not coddle him, he is beknown to our world and shalt survive on his own." Elijah answered reluctantly. His shoulders to become nought but tense. "Shall you welcome him to accompany us?" He casually asked.
Niklaus sure for his brother to hitherto know the answer. "Indeed, I shan't be comfortable upon his company." Niklaus stated, his brow furrowing. "I shall indeed be wishing to know upon the reason you chose him?" He asked, curiosity evident upon his tone.
The morning sun slowly arising upon the landscape of London as the brightness invaded the lanes. Chasing away the lingering darkness of night upon the waking of the people within the large town. Niklaus gazed upon the horizon as the sun breached it, awaiting his brother's response.
"For nought but redemption my dear brother!" He stated calmly. Assured within his reason for the tenseness of his shoulders to relax in peacefulness.
Niklaus turned his gaze upon Elijah, the unexpected words echoing upon his ears. "Redemption, Elijah?" He asked, with but a small measure of humour upon his countenance. "Whatever for?"
Elijah glanced at his brother with narrowed eyes, "My redemption." He answered vaguely.
Niklaus' eyebrow rose as he awaited for more to be said, inclined to believe it shall never come. "What shall you be desiring for redemption, Elijah?" Niklaus questioned, dark blue eyes flashing with hidden mirth.
Elijah rolled his eyes in such an ungentlemanly manner, that Niklaus was hard pressed to contain his chuckle. "I shall indeed have plenty unto be dependent upon thy need of redemption Niklaus, for mine past and indeed mine future," He answered impassively, evidently none too pleased about coming to terms within his feelings upon the matter, neither having much choice within it. "Mine own redemption shall hopefully be within this man's hands upon my honour to bestow his compassionate nature unto other's and mine desire for him to aid within them for his eternal life." He finished, determination and belief upon his heart to be reflected within the depths of his swirling brown eyes.
Niklaus shan't see the turmoil of his brother's emotions upon his blank facade nought for the internal struggle shewn within his eyes.
Niklaus desired neither for his brother's embarrassment, nor to bestow a blight upon his heart within his reason, for indeed it was to be Elijah's peace within himself. Niklaus therefore dropped the matter for the slight breeze to carry it away.
They silently made their way back unto their leased rooms, for the desire to meet Rebekah and go forth towards the hunt of Katerina.
It shall seem to Niklaus to always be one step behind Katerina in hunting her down, receiving knowledge far too late to be of any use for it.
Upon the whispers of intelligence about her, Niklaus shall surmise her to be gathering upon her mind any form of knowledge regarding the Mikaelson family, from any source willing to impart it.
The Old' World becoming a dead end of any consideration for finding her, they returned upon the shores of the New World.
It shall be accursed unto Niklaus to be within constant change of one world to another, and upon reaching the town of Salem, a sudden desire settled within him for want of breaking the monotony of their travelling, nay hunting.
It was to be the Mikaelson's desire of the people of the worlds, not to be informed upon them a possibility of an existence unto both Magical and Vampire beings.
As a magical being entirely, it was now upon them to heed the new laws abiding to the Wizarding World that was to be for the Americas and indeed the rest of the countries abroad. Lest they desired repercussions.
The International Statute of Wizarding Secrecy, was now signed upon by the Wizards Council of England amongst other Wizarding nations.
The Witches of Salem shall appear to Niklaus to appreciate the secrecy albeit not the limitations such secrecy wrought upon them.
They making it beknown unto Niklaus that they neither desired the new Vampires within their midst, nor the want of sharing their town. The Witches being none the wiser unto the knowledge of exactly whom they were, unbeknownst unto them of such a thing as magical Vampires, only suspecting a quality most unusual about them in nature.
One blustery evening saw Niklaus' departure from the quaint local tavern, intent upon heading towards their camp out yonder.
The starless sky no comfort upon the weathered, scarcely lit town as the wind howled around him. It shall indeed impart upon the wary heart of a human the sense of trepidation.
Night darker than pitch shall creep upon the strongest of men.
The illusion of an unknown terror lurking behind every corner.
It held no such dread upon Niklaus; he, being the terror usual within the shadows.
Niklaus reached the tree line, nearing his camp, as upon his sensitive ears came the sounds of soft footsteps. As if whom ever was behind him, desired nought but to sneak upon him.
Detecting unto herself for her steps to have been heard, giving away to her pretense. Her voice suddenly exclaimed in the dark night. "You are not welcome here, beast!"
Niklaus smirked unto himself before turning unto the face of a presumptuous woman. "Unto the authority upon whom shall you speak, pray tell?" Niklaus challenged, forsaking to restrain his half grin.
Niklaus surveyed the ebony toned woman as she separated a branch upon her approach, assured in her assumption upon her neither being close unto him nor her knowledge unto his competence at reaching her quickly from afar.
"It shall be upon the entire town if you shall be complacent unto hither." She answered. "We shall not have it!"
"Shall I take upon thy words you speak with regard unto mine family, shall be nought but a threat?" He asked, stepping forward slightly. Amusement touching within himself upon her discomfort.
"Nay, but it shan't be a pleasant stay!" She imparted bravely, cautious unto being wise enough unto taking a step away from him. "We desire for neither vexation nor tribulation unto befalling upon us."
Niklaus' amusement heightened upon her speech, drawing forth a resonating chuckle. "Nay, we shall leave you be, within you bestowing a word of honour unto the same upon mine own!" He proffered, nought but outward affectation, provoking upon her facade the appearance of solicitude.
"I shan't believe you upon thy word. You say upon one breath and the beast within upon the contradictory exertion. Nay, you must begone." She stated, a shake about her head upon her words.
Niklaus regarded her silently within a long moment, contemplation about his mind unto bringing an end unto her now, or later. He took neither kindly nor obligingly unto threats upon his own.
His foreboding dark eyes boring upon her, her shuffling feet implying about her discomfort. The beat of her heart sounding louder and faster upon Niklaus' ears, a tickle within the ebb and flow unto a drumbeat only he shall control. A rather sinister smile gracing upon his lips as he bestowed upon her a real terror of the prey.
Hearing her blood pumping throughout her body, rushing faster within her veins, answering upon the crescendo of her heart.
It was indeed a subtle play upon his senses as the delight of what perhaps shall come, urged him forward.
The minutes lingered slowly in contrast unto him rushing towards her, grasping her throat within his tremendously strong grip. Her large brown eyes full of fear as she peered upon him, he lowered his wrathful eyes upon hers. "Shall I leave upon you, the foolishness that you speak unto me? May you perhaps share upon thy kin unto the forewarning they shan't threaten us?" The squeak of her reply being lost within his hold, the clutch upon his hand a desperate struggle for release. "I shall bestow upon you mine mercy! But shall you tempt me again, there shall be retribution upon you!" He hissed, the threat heavy within the air betwixt them.
A neglectful shove, perhaps harsher than Niklaus preconceived, found the Witch released of his hold. She stumbled backwards upon her feet and fell to the ground.
Niklaus peered down upon her, nought but a hint of guilt touching his heart, irksome within the duty of a gentleman, he reached out, grasping unto her hand and easily brought her back upon her feet.
Once standing the ebony Witch dashed quickly unto the inner town, far away from Niklaus.
The Mikaelson's, nary amongst the town but for a year, met upon nought but the constant hatred upon the family from the local Salem Witches. Trying in vain to run them out of town.
It shall be enough upon pushing Niklaus unto losing his mind.
He imparted unto his sibling's of their soon to be departure, but for a little entertainment first.
He, becoming the force behind letting it be shewn unto the Muggles of having Witches within their little town. Niklaus was relentless in his revenge upon them, casting harmless charms on locals to enforce upon the Witches retribution for the hatred towards his family.
The punishment of death upon the Witches from the Muggle's, and punishment from the Magical Congress of the USA. Drawing out the remaining Witches, no longer having the power to hide, and forcing upon them to flee their homes.
Lest they face the hanging upon the gallows.
Niklaus and his sibling's made for following the remaining Witches as they fled unto what was once known to Niklaus as his childhood home.
Being upon one of the most magical places within the earth, it was not found to bring surprise unto Niklaus.
Reaching his childhood home brought upon Niklaus' mind a touch of unfathomable guilt and disgust.
Guilt for his lost brother, and disgust for most everything else.
The sibling's had returned here within years past, and as he gazed upon the landscape before him, noting nought but the slight growth of the small village had changed, he perhaps shall be inclined to believe it was still the same as they had left it.
The pull of magic within the place being most assuredly what had brought the Witches here upon the first place once fleeing their homes.
None too pleased unto being followed by the creatures to force them unto abandoning a home most desirable to them.
Niklaus shan't feel shame upon it, for it shall be the Witches fault for being unkind unto the Mikaelson's from the very start.
Niklaus had inquired from the Vampires he had changed here years ago, unto the movements of Katerina, desiring unto the information of her coming upon his childhood home.
Niklaus had not grown up there for nigh on 600 years, and what once was, was no more. The families of old having long since gone from the land.
Katerina was to find nought but speculation and rumours, superstitions and myth upon what she shall find nonsense. Only for her to question such a Vampire still being upon the same lands that was once Niklaus' home, for it shall be her only consolation of being within the right place.
She had long since left however, and Niklaus was remiss upon missing her by nought but a few years.
Rebekah came upon his side and wrapped her arm within his own, sighing as they stood watching the village people go about their day. "Come Niklaus, let us visit upon our little cave for old times sake!" She stated softly, eyes sparkling. Her blonde hair elegant within the confines of it, as loose strands blew gently upon the breeze.
Niklaus gazed upon her with an unfathomable glint within his dark blue eyes. "Perhaps, you wish upon the wall to be more of our lives unto it, Rebekah?" He asked coolly.
Rebekah peered upon him, incredulity within her blue eyes. "You shan't convince me of a lack of desire you hold unto imparting the Sun and Moon curse upon it?" She asked, her tone betraying her skepticism.
He glanced away thoughtfully. "Indeed, perhaps it shall be wise to do so." He placated. Coming to the decision to agree with her. Perhaps any remaining werewolves shall chance upon it someday, unbeknownst unto them upon helping him for his curse to be no more.
They reached the cave nary a few minutes later and entered the damp underground cave.
The melancholy cavern was gloomier than the darkest of nights. The musty, unused air as oppressive as the drawings upon the cold walls.
Shadows, darker within the contrast of the surroundings, danced upon the far walls of the tunnels to their backs. Creeping within the scope of their vision.
Their eyesight not depending upon the torch Rebekah brought with them, only bestowing a measure of comfort upon the edges of the reach of the flickering light.
Fingers of illumination stretching unto the darkness, attempting upon the grasp of the shadows as they danced around each other.
Niklaus imparted the Sun and Moon curse upon the stone wall, Rebekah making drawings of the Mikaelson's life story, accompanying the pictographs already upon it. Elijah too contributed his share, imparting upon it the story of whence Niklaus had daggered Finn, and Kol's departure, assured unto imparting nought but the barest of it. Lest an enemy lay their eyes upon it, and use it unto a nefarious reasoning.
Hours past them by. The Mikaelson's continued their work as night became morning and they departed once more.
Hoping unto not reaching the same lands for a measure of time to come.
So we reach the end of chapter 5.
A much shorter chapter than previous ones to be sure.
I hope you enjoyed it and are enjoying the entirety of the story over all so far!
I shall see you in the next chapter...
I am sorry for the long delay in bringing forth an update, life tends to make time fly away from you at an alarming rate. In saying that, I had not realised it had been since last March that I last updated. On one hand it went tremendously fast and doesn't feel that long, and on the other it is almost a year regardless. Either way I'm truly sorry, and I won't promise for a quick update, but I will promise for updates to come all the same!
Please feel free to R & R...
