While Diana was contacting the Watchers Council to get the Book of Tarnis sent to her and making arrangements to get Brother Michael out of the country, Mason continued questioning Michael in the hopes of gaining even a little more information.

"Tell me about this Dagon's Sphere." Mason questioned. "If it was teleported with Brother Luca than he may have lost it here in Sunnydale. If we have a description, we may be able to find it."

"It's a spherical shaped object." Michael told him. "Approximately this large." He held his hand up, fingers curved to show a rounded shape. "It glows from within."

Mason glanced at Faith and Jesse and knew they both recognized the description as the weird glowing ball they'd discovered yesterday and given to Diana to evaluate. "Where exactly did the teleport drop you?" He asked.

"Outside a warehouse." Michael answered. "In an alleyway, we sheltered in the warehouse, we found a local Magic shop and purchased ingredients for a locator spell to find the Slayer. Brother Luca sold his only possession, a good pin, so we would have the money, we did not expect to live long as we knew the Abomination could follow the Magic that brought us here. We hoped to live long enough to deliver our message."

The three of them realized these monks had landed in the alleyway they'd found the glowing ball, likely this Dagon's Sphere, in.

"When did you arrive in Sunnydale?" Mason questioned further.

"Last night, a few hours after sunset." Right about when the group had been nearing that alleyway than, Mason realized, motioning Faith and Jesse not to say anything. Diana came back on the speakerphone.

"Mr. Chase, a friend of ours, has a private plane, I've arranged for him to have his pilot take you to England." Diana told them. "Mason, if you could take him to the airport, by the time he gets there, the pilot should be ready to take off."

"We're leaving now. You two," he waggled his finger back and forth between Faith and Jesse. "keep your heads down and get to Diana's. There could be more of those ugly little demons out there." He took Brother Michael's arm and led him out to his truck. Once they were gone Faith spoke. "That glow ball we found yesterday must be this Dagon's Sphere, they dropped it when they landed."

"Yeah," Jesse drawled. "when the Abbot teleported two humans to Sunnydale and told them the Slayer would protect them. Right after telling them he made a flesh wrapper for the Key and sent it to the Slayer for protection. They were under attack, this Abomination was literally breaking down the door as the Abbot was trying to tell them and the others were sacrificing themselves to buy him time. What if Brother Michael misunderstood? What if the Abbot didn't say he sent the Key to the Slayer, what if he said he was sending the Key to the Slayer?"

"A matter of semantics." Diana mused from the speakerphone. "One indicated a past action, the other indicates a present action. Brother Michael or Brother Luca might actually be the human created to house the Key and doesn't know it. Not enough time to explain, a fully grown human, complete with knowledge or memories implanted, copied most likely from another monk. One also unaware of who the human created for the purpose of hiding the Key is."

"If it's Brother Luca we're screwed." Faith stated grimly. "But if it's Brother Michael, this Abomination may not be able to find him, except by following a Magic trail. Getting him out of the country may be the best way to keep him safe from her, but if she has any inkling they sent him to me, she's going to be looking for me, thinking I have the Key. It also depends on what she might have gotten from this other monk, Brother Luca."

"Who or what is Dagon?" Jesse asked. "I've never heard of it before."

"Depends on who you're asking." Diana answered, history, myth and folklore she knew. "Dagon was a Semitic god of fertility, agriculture, and prosperity who was worshipped in ancient Mesopotamia and Syria. He was also the national god of the Philistines. Depicted in statues and such as a merman, top half, human, bottom half, fish. H. P. Lovecraft had a Dagon in his fictional short story "Dagon". Dagon is also a prominent element of the Cthulhu Mythos, where he is often referred to as Father Dagon."

"Cthulhu?" Faith asked.

"An Old One." Diana said softly.

"Old One?!" Faith exclaimed. "As in the dinosaur size demons driven out out of this realm to various Hells? The ones called demon gods? You're saying these monks either worshiped an ancient god or an ancient demon god?! How do we know which one?!"

"If it's the god, than my guess would be they oppose this Abomination in some way." Diana offered. "If it's the Old One, they may consider her a rival."

"Either way, we have a big problem." Jesse reminded them. "There's something that apparently looks like a woman, but isn't, in Sunnydale looking for this Key. Either she's found it in Brother Luca or she's still looking. If she's still looking than she might know Faith's been dragged into it. It might be a good idea to get Faith and Gabrielle out of town while we're getting Brother Michael out of town."

"I know Faith." Diana answered. "She doesn't run. I also know, keeping Gabrielle safe is our number one priority. I've taken care of it."
