Bella POV
Sitting here listening to Carlisle and the others call their friends and allies to try and stand with us against the Volturi was nerve wracking to say the least. There's only one person I can honestly think of that might make the Volturi stop in their tracks if she's seen standing there. Finally getting fed up of just sitting here with the wolves and Edward, I growl and storm out of the door leaving a bunch of very confused vampires and shapeshifters in my wake. I hit the forest running full speed I need to get far enough away so that I couldn't be heard. I didn't stop running for 3 hours I think I cleared into Canada, although I'm not sure as I've never been to Canada. Anyways finding a nice rock cluster I sit down and take a deep breath, knowing how this conversation is going to go. Pulling my phone out of my pocket and finding the name I needed I hit the call button and waited it only took about 3 rings for the other person to answer with a growl no less.
"Whoever the fuck you are, better have a god damn great reason for not only having this number but calling while I'm trying to get laid"
I giggled " I'm so sorry Kim I can call later" the smile on my face I knew was serene as this girl had the ability to calm me more than Jasper did she groaned and I could here her flop onto her couch
" Sorry Bells what's up babe?"
" I need your help and before you turn me down please let me explain" she didn't respond which I took to mean she was willing to listen to me.
" Ok so the Volturi are coming to kill my daughter she's like you sort of half vampire half human, however they think she's an immortal child and that she's dangerous. Were trying to gather friends and allies to stand with us to prove that she isn't what they believe hoping they'll stop and listen. Will you help me?" The other end so silent I was worried she hung up I pulled my phone from my ear and checked nope were still connected. After about five minutes there was a gust of air
" Let me get this straight you want me to come to your house in Washington and possibly end up standing against my dad to protect your daughter"
" Im hoping it wont come to a fight but essentially yes. Honestly I'm hoping that you standing there will cause him to pause" she started growling and it was a pissed off growl
"I will not fight my father Isabella you can lose that idea right now. But I will come and meet the little tike and decide then if I will stand with you long enough to hopefully make him pause" The relief is instantaneous
"I cant thank you enough"
"Garret is on the phone with Carlisle, how he still doesn't know that his friend is married is a shock to me. Anyways I'll see you in two days" With that she hung up. Looking up to the graying sky I laughed this is going to be so much fun! I took off back to the house. I knew Alice didn't see my decisions thanks to the wolves so hopefully my friend will be a fun surprise. Especially since she smells and looks full human. Getting back to the house seemed to go by faster than when I first took off. I walked through the doors and ignored the pointed questions and just went up to shower. Twenty minutes later I came back downstairs where Carlisle was still on the phone with some one I knew it wasn't Garret. As I leaned against the banister he finally hung up and turned towards me and everyone else in the room.
" Well my old friend Garret will be coming to meet her he will not make a decision until he gets here." I could feel the secret smirk trying not to cross my face. Of course he would follow Kim's example he has since we were thirteen and they officially met, although at that point she was technically like 1500 years old, her aging is weird. Over the next 48 hours I knew I was not hiding my nerves well at all. Literally everyone kept asking if I was ok, I couldn't tell them. Kim wasn't my secret to tell. Around six pm on the second day a car was heard pulling into the drive with music so loud it covered the heart beat. I tried not to react I truly did but a sadly a giggle slipped through. Jasper raised an eye brow at me I just shrugged. The family filed out to meet the visitor on the porch like good vampires should. Once the music stopped you could clearly hear one heart beat from the passenger side, everyone tensed at this as the doors open. Edward was holding Reneesme when they stepped out of the car.
"Ah Garret my old friend thank you so much for coming" We looked over as sucked in a sharp breath.
"Are you ok Kate" Tonya asked
"He's my mate" Garret just grinned and raised his hand above his head
"Uh do I get a vote because I don't believe in mates, I'm already happily married, have been for about 3 years now" I just smiled and walked down the steps and embraced my brother in law
"Hello Brother I can't thank you enough for coming" Garret returned the hug while whispering in my ear
"I will always fight for family but we need to have a long conversation without prying ears you have a lot to answer for little Belle" I pulled back and looked into his blood red eyes and just nodded. Kim still hasn't said anything until I looked over at her
"Is that her?" Her chin jutting out to my daughter. I nodded. Kim didn't make to move at all just glanced over her with a raised eyebrow the entire time everyone on the porch didn't move and kept staring and Garret had moved behind Kim and wrapped his arms around her waist and rested his chin on her head. After she minute she looked back at me and nodded.
" I will stand next to you, but I will not fight for you. As much as I love you, she is not my family" Everyone else gasped but I understood and nodded. As I went and stood next to Edward, Garret and Kim followed me up on to the porch never letting go of each other. We all stood on the porch just looking at each other and honestly its getting kind of awkward.
"Uh why don't we move this inside so Garret and his uh friend can get to know Nessie" Esme spoke up, I still hate that nickname but Im getting used to it. With this we all headed inside and into the living room. Kate tried repeatedly to talk to Garret but every time she went to take a step near him Kim glared, her glares always have the promise of death in them. Each time this happened Garret chuckled and leaned down and kissed Kim's neck the spot where it was quiet obvious he had marked her. They don't believe in fated mates, they both believe you choose your mate and you work at your relationship. Honestly I envy them.
