Emma was dying, she was unhappy in a way she had never felt before. She felt like all was lost, nothing brought her joy anymore. The town didn't help either at this time of the year, when the landscape was dark and grey. Regina called her an hour ago, wanting to talk to her. It was always painful seeing her, since she knew she would never be with her.
She really thought her plan could have worked, if Regina had feelings for her. But, now that she knew, now that it was obvious. She felt dead inside, she thought of leaving everything and everyone, maybe New York would have been a good distraction.
She decided that she would tell Regina tonight that she was leaving. About this unfortunate situation with him she would see what she would do.
Regina wanted to meet her at the Rabbit Hole, so off she went. She never liked this place, but most of the people in town somehow always ended up there.
When she went inside, she spotted Regina quickly. God, she looked so good. A pencil skirt in black and high heels, a top with a deep cleavage, she was stunning.
"Finally, Miss Swan, you are here!"
"You called in the middle of the night, saying that it was a life-or-death situation. So what's going on?"
Regina stood by the window, pointing inside the Rabbit Hole. What Emma saw made her disbelief. She couldn't believe he was so stupid, so careless. This agreement that they had, would only work if the pirate could stay discreet.
"He is cheating on you! I will have his heart and crush it!" Regina was fuming out of anger, how could this filth betray her Emma like that. And then again she needed to remind herself that Emma wasn't hers to begin with.
"Regina! Wait! Don't!" This was all wrong, it was so bad that Emma nearly let Regina go, out of her anger towards Killian. But then again she couldn't, it was her fault after all.
Holding her wrist, Emma looked at her with guilty eyes. If she told Regina the truth, Regina would take her heart and crush it. And that's not what Emma wanted at all.
"Are you out of your mind? You are protecting him? He is having sex with this whore and you are defending him?"
"No, well sort of. Damn this idiot, I told him to be careful!"
"What is going on, Miss Swan!?"
Regina was furious. She didn't understand why Emma was behaving like this. She should be sad, furious, angry, anything but annoying. Emma stepped closer. She pressed Regina against the wooden frame of the wall. She pressed her body tightly against Regina's.
"It didn't work, not like I wanted. You were supposed to confess your feelings for me out of jealousy, but the only thing you did was to be happy for me. I just thought if you saw that you could lose me, you would do something and, and"
She was looking at those lips, those red plump lips, holding back was never her strong suit. But she had to. God, she wanted her, so badly that it hurt. The only thing she could do was to pull back, turn around and leave. Hoping that a fireball wouldn't hit her while she was walking away.
"It was and will always be you. I, I just didn't know how to make you see me. I will leave town. I can't anymore. I can't hold back."
She vanished in white smoke, leaving her there speechless. Regina couldn't move for a long time, feeling Emma's body like this was too much. Some small soft spoken words left her lips, which the wind took away.
"I see you."
