In the days of forgotten prophecies and colliding nemeses…. One must remember the primal source, Havoc, and Justice to be forever as twins or be forever doomed to the darkness… - Orko the Great During the time of the Snake War.
Within Castle Greyskull…
From the forgotten castle of Greyskull, which once held the greatest masters lay a book that presents itself before a blank tapestry of what to come.
The flutter of pages began on their own as the latest passage was shown.
We must never forget the events of which altered the fates of too many souls and remember what hides behind the power of Greyskull…
In the latest era of peace, when the latest Masters of the Universe were still defending the realm, lay a crisis brewing that not even the masters could not overcome…
Within the City of Eternia at night…
A kingdom of promise and light that hides the many scars of tragedy, loomed over a severed world of isolation.
The pain of past tragedies trickled down all the world and left ripple effects that brought more sorrow to others, for this era was one with no heroes. For the ever-hardened and disheartened King Randor, Ruler of Eternia and member of the House of the Green Lion decreed that there would be no Masters, for he saw fault in the masters' for the anguish in his life. Thus, the world was cloaked in uncertainty and darkness.
His only family were his eager and joyful daughter Adora and his cool-headed and intelligent nephew, Malkyn, a ¼ Gar whose appearance was hauntingly similar to that of his late brother.
"I can see that the great King Randor finally took my advice and got some fresh air for a change." Malkyn joked while appearing from nowhere, his arrow-tipped tail swaying about.
"Hmm."
The blue boy then noticed something amiss in the king.
"Is something bothering you, Uncle? This is usually the time; you start lecturing me about going alone without my bodyguards." He reminded the king, who remained stony.
The royals then looked at the city and in its neon colors.
"Truly, a Kingdom of Light…" Malkyn breathed at the sights, "We used to watch them before our bedtime."
Randor knew what 'we' meant and crossed his arms.
"Yes, Nephew. But the light cast deep shadows. Return to your room, I'm sending the guards to keep alert for anything." Randor declared as if he was returning inside.
"Sure, why not? Give the people more reasons to hate you. The rebellions against the outraged citizens aren't already bad enough, considering my mother and the former Royal Engineer are out there doing who knows what." Malkyn breathed deeply, completely against the king's decisions of what he had done to his country.
"Prince Malkyn-."
"Uncle, you know this is only getting worse-."
"We can discuss this another time. Now, return to your room."
"…Yes sir."
Malkyn Greyskull then looked to the kingdom one more time.
"This kingdom lost its light when we lost you, Adam."
Once the prince returned inside, all seemed quiet.
But it was deceptive, for one little witch-in-training was slinking past the defenses of Castle Greyskull… thanks to the ROH (Rebels of Havoc) were able to get the blueprints needed to find the Crypt of Fallen Masters. There she used her magic to creep with the guards and even the prince who was returning to bed. Everything needed to be done precisely if she was to retrieve the sword and return it to Evelyn and the rebels, in order to depose the awful king. One mistake and she will be locked away in the dungeon for the rest of eternity.
The Power Sword of Justice was revered by all as the symbol of pure light and was tied to be the strongest weapon in the universe and even beyond. It was locked away with the other Master's Weapons of Havoc and Justice.
It would be the most locked away.
Teala was able to reach the door, only sealed by the blood of a true Greyskull Royal, which they were able to get a while ago…
"Okay, note to self, never ask how they got royal blood…" Teala breathed when she heard whispers in her mind.
"Teala…. Teala… Retrieve the sword…. Retrieve the sword…."
"Shh! You're not real." She whispered to the voice in her head that had been with her since she started learning magic.
"Teala…. Teala… Retrieve the sword…. Retrieve the sword…."
She used the vial of blood, and the blood filled the lock in the shape of a lion. It opened as it breathed a roar! Teala looked around, fearing that someone heard her, then quickly hurried inside the crypt. From within, she was really blown away….
Statues of the Masters were lined up in which side of magic they represented. They were all there and she was truly inspired and intimidated by their presence. She-ra, Man-at-Arms, Buzz-Off, Ram-Man, Many-Faces, Catra, Skeleteen, Sorceress, Sy-Clone, Swiftwind, Stratos and Snout Spout. Together, in their prime, they protected Eternia. But now… they were just memories of what they were before.
"I wish you were still here…" She breathed then noticed the glimmer near one of the crypts, "Bingo."
She then opened the crypt of She-ra and revealed the sword inside.
That one decision would change the lives of everyone to come.
Within Castle Greyskull…
The light began to spark once more, and the book revealed more.
This tale begins at the end when the calls of War brought the lurking forces of darkness…
