sniperbro1998: I know, right?

Guest02957: Well, gotta show that Jayden's not got all the characteristics of a evil Sith.

Arbiter3670: Right.

Guest: There may be a chance of that, not sure if I will go down that route but I'll consider it.

Dreagon D. Dragon: Thank you.

Guest: Indeed.

Disclaimer: I do not own Star Wars: The Clone Wars. I only own the OC Jayden Shan/Darth Khan.

The importance of monitoring communications was one thing. Going about it on a station full of nothing but droids, however, seemed to sully the experience.

On perhaps his fullest assignment yet, Jayden found himself aboard Skytop Station; a repurposed Trade Federation core ship and battlesphere that was operated by the Hyper-Communications Cartel.

Located within the upper atmosphere of the second moon of the planet Ruusan, in the Teraab sector's Ruusan system of the Mid Rim, it was modified into a listening post by the Seoaratists and placed under the command of General Grievous.

Unlike other core ships, the station was equipped with several large antennae which protruded from both the top and bottom of the station's hull, and was kept alfoat through the assistance of reactor-powered repulsorlift generators. The reactors themselves were protected by a ray shielded blast door.

The station was designed to monitor Republic communications, thereby providing the Confederate Droid Army with vital intelligence on the movement of enemy fleets. It had been responsible for intercepting a communication between Supreme Chancellor Palpatine of the Republic and King Katuunko of Toydaria discussing a possible alliance between the Republic and Toydaria and planned for negotiations on Rugosa.

The reason for Jayden being here was to oversee operations alongside Grievous. It was a change from being out in the field, battling Clones and their Jedi leaders. Although part of Jayden did not like the change, he accepted it, only having ta day left here before he was scheduled to leave and head to another world that Dooku wanted under Separatist control, and not Republic control.

The sooner the better... Jayden thought absent-mindly as he scrolled through a datapad on the latest operations of the station when his mask's in-built comm began to go off and he answered it. "Yes?"

"Ah, Lord Khan! There is a matter that requires our attention." Grievous' voice said on the other end, causing Jayden to frown as he knew Grievous wouldn't call unless it was a very serious and important matter for them both.

"And what may that be, General?" Jayden asked, continuing to scroll through the datapad.

"A certain R2 unit, one that Skywalker is often accompanied by in his Starfighter." Grievous revealed, causing Jayden to pause as he remembered that R2 droid, the one that tried shocking him on Tatooine while he battled Ahsoka, only to be kicked for his efforts by the Apprentice of Dooku. If they had that droid...

"And what value could he be to us?" Jayden asked uncaringly, getting back to overseeing the station's operations and frowning as there was a reported oil leak somewhere in engineering. He'll have droids sent to repair that.

Grievous chuckled darkly. "The droid may very well hold certain secrets and information the Republic wouldn't want anyone to get their hands on... especially us!"

Jayden paused at that again, considering the General's words. "...I'll be there shortly."

Aboard the Twilight, Anakin, Ahsoka, Captain Rex, a battalion of 501st Clones and the new Astromech droid, though Anakin refuses to accept it as R2's replacement, R3-S6. The reason for the droid's presence among them was because R2-D2 had gone mission, and so Anakin was forced to get a new navigator, thus R3 was picked. The Astromech droid had not proven to be any help in Anakin's opinion.

The reason they were out in space, was because the Jedi Council had assigned Anakin and Ahsoka a dangerous mission, which was to locate a Separatist listening post. Anakin stood near the two pilot chairs, looking out into the vasntness of space, with Rex and another Clone piloting the bucket of bolts. Meanwhile, Ahsoka and R3 were listening for any transmissions, hoping for a Separatist one.

The silence continued, until Rex looked up at Anakin after checking the area. "We've searched their supply grids, sir. There's nothing to indicate the presence of an enemy outpost"

Anakin frowned at this. There was one out there, he just knew it... and maybe R2 was there. Behind him, Ahsoka continued to listen for any transmissions when one starred to bleep in her ear, causing her to frown and lean her head away, then she brought it to her Master's attention. "Master, I'm receiving a strange transmission. I can't seem to make it out though." She said, catching Anakin's immediate attention as she pressed a button to let Anakin hear the transmission. She then smiled at R3. "Boost the volume, Goldie."

The black and gold Astromech beeped in reply before he... started to lower and loose the volume. Anakin's eyes widened at this, mentally wondering if this droid was damaged somehow for getting the opposite idea of what Ahsoka wanted. R2 would never have done that. "No! you're losing it!" He came over and pressed a button, locking onto the transmission as well as boosting it's volume, where they heard a familiar whistle from a certain blue and whit Astromech that made Anakin's expression light up with hope. "That's R2!"

"Uh..." Ahsoka frowned. "That doesn't sound like R2."

However, Anakin wasn't deterred from finding his droid. "It's him. I could never forget that voice." he turned to Rex. "Trace it, Rex."

The Captain nodded and got to it. "Sir."

Ahsoka frowned. "Master, our orders were to find the Separatist listening post." She reminded him.

Anakin smirked at her. "Maybe R2 is at the listening post. Did you consider that?" he asked cheekily, causing Ahsoka to pout at him with annoyance that made him chuckle.

"We;ve got a lock on the droid's location, sir." Rex reported, causing Anakin to smile.

"Prepare to jump to those coordinates." He ordered.

"Yes sir." As the Clones got to work, Anakin stared out into space with a look of hope and relief. Hope that R2 can be found and brought back home in one piece, relief that they had found the droid via transmission R2 sent, which meant they wouldn't be finding him in pieces or worse destroyed.

"Hold on, R2." he whispered. "We're coming."

Jayden exited the turbolift, walked onto the floor Grievous was located on and came to a corridor near the hanger bay where he saw the droid General waiting for him, before he noticed. "Ah, Khan! Good to see you could make it for this great moment."

"We don't have the droid yet, General." Jayden reminded him with a frown underneath his mask. "The droid had better be worth it."

"it will be... and we can send whatever's left back to the Republic once we're done uncovering the secrets it carries!" Grievous laughed sinisterly before their attention shifted to the sound of the doors opening and they watched as the droid smuggler, Gar Nachkt, entered with the R2 unit. Jayden recognized it instantly from Teth and Tatooine, and he was sure it was on the Malevolence before it went down. He had heard much about this droid, often causing trouble for the Jedi's enemies somehow.

the droid whistled in surprise as it came before Grievous and Jayden, with the General chuckling darkly as he leaned down. to examine the droid. The smuggler then spoke. "This is the droid the Jedi came looking for, General."

"What secrets do you carry, my little friend?" Grievous asked with fake politeness as he loomed over the blue and white Astromech. In response, R2 beeped and bleep in defiance. His words made Jayden raise his eyebrows under his mask. However, Grievous sounded merely amused. "So defiant! No neard for fear, we're all droids here." Grievous looked at Gar Nachkt. "Rip this little rat apart, and find out everything he knows"

In what Jayden assumed was fear, R2 rolled backwards and got the droid smuggler's foot which made Jayden chuckle with amusement. "R-Right away, General." The droid smuggler said through the then shocked R2 into moving forward, with the droid being the first to enter the interrogating room... designed for tearing apart droids. R2 beeped in fear as Jayden and Grievous entered with the droid smuggler, and the doors closed behind them.

Above the planet of Ruusan, the Twilight flew. Inside the cockpit, Rex pulled up a map of the system and showed Anakin what had been found, as well as where r2's transmission came from. "Sir, the last transmission came from that moon's upper atmosphere, directly ahead."

Anakin frowned as he saw the image of a sphere-shaped object and recognized it instantly. "That's a Separatist battle sphere."

"I'm picking up a lot of encrypted chatter." Ahsoka informed, getting a nod from Anakin.

"Contact Obi-Wan." He said, looking at R3. "Stubby, scramble secret code set 1477. I don't want that station to pick this up."

From the in-built holo-device at the cockpit's controls, an image of Obi-Wan was displayed. "Anakin?"

"Master, I believe we've found your Separatist listening post." Anakin said with a smirk.

Obi-Wan nodded in approval at this. "Excellent work. Back off and wait. I'll send two mainline cruisers to help you destroy it."

"But R2..." Ahsoka quietly pointed out to Anakin, getting a nod from the Jedi General and he turned his attention back to Obi-Wan.

"We believe my droid, R2, is on board." he told his Master. "He's the one that led us here."

Obi-Wan frowned and cupped his chin, stroking his beard. It was something Anakin knew Obi-Wan does when he's thinking, contemplating. "Hmm, this complicates things. You must sneak aboard that station and destroy it before they crack R2's memory banks." The Jedi Master saw Anakin's expression and his own softened, but his tone still held sternness, a firm voice, as well as understanding. "I know you're fond of that droid, but he's fallen into enemy hands.

Anakin internally sighed, knowing Obi-Wan was right. But they had to rescue R2, especially since Anakin never wiped R2's memory which was full of Republic secrets the Separatists should never get their hands on, for it could turn the entire war effort around in the Separatist's favour. So that meant one thing... "I could rescue R2."

"No, this is not a rescue mission." Obi-Wan immediately shot that idea down with a look at Anakin before his hologram form fizzled out, the contact ending there.

Trying to not look deterred, Anakin turned to Rex. "Keep jamming their scanners. If they spot us, we're dead."

As the ship flew towards the moon, Anakin, Ahsoka and the Clones gathered in the small hanger bay where Anakin's yellow Jedi Starfighter was located., everyone packing up for their mission to get aboard the station and destroy it. However, as they prepared, Rex noticed Ahsoka getting R3 ready as well.

"We're bringing the droid?" He asked. raising an eyebrow.

"We'll need Goldie to open secured hatches and access the station's computer for us." Ahsoka pointed out, and Rex nodded, seeing the logic in that. However, Ahsoka then shot him a grin. "Oh, and, Rex...you get to carry him."

Rex's eyes widened a little and he looked at R3, who beeped and whistled. Mentally, the Clone Captain groaned. On the outside, he just exhaled, shooting a small annoyed look at his brothers when seeing them snicker and chuckle at his assigned job of droid'carrying. "Ah, that's just great."

The ripping apart of R2 had gone smoothly, but finding the Republic info he holds wasn't. For a while, Jayden and Grievous paced around the room as Gar Nachkt took the droid apart and tried to get into his memory banks. Jayden leaned against the wall, eyes shut behind his mask, meditating, reaching out with the Force to try and pass the time. However, as he did so, he sensed something... something very familiar.

Jayden frowned as he started to recognize it. Is that...?

"General! Lord Khan!" The droid smuggler shouted, catching the two's attention and snapping Jayden from his thoughts to a more important matter, shaking off his thoughts as probably nothing. It appears this droid's mission memory has never been erased. it contains every Republic formation and strategy they have."

Skywalker, you fool... Jayden thought with a smirk underneath his mask. Your failure to erase this droid's memory has benefited us.

"Good work." Grievous said with delight. "You certainly earned your fee this time."

"More than my fee." The droid smuggler said greedily. "The droid's worth more, I get paid more. Now, I suggest-"

He gasped in pain as a red Lightsaber was impaled through his chest from behind, Jayden having moved behind him while he greedily spoke about earning more than he believed he would get... unaware that Jayden was just going to kill him once he outlived his usefulness. Well, if it wasn't Jayden who did the deed, Grievous would've done it.

Grievous laughed darkly at the sight. "There's your bonus." Suddenly Grievous' com began beeping and he answered it, displaying the hologram of a droid. "Report, Agent R3."

The droid beeped and whistled, reporting it's spy mission to them.

"The Jedi are here?" Grievous said in surprise. R3 beeped a few more times.

"Skywalker and Tano are here." Jayden stated after hearing the droid, that certaintly explained what Jayden sensed... but how is that? That was twice Jayden has been able to briefly sense Ahsoka, like a brush of the minds, and yet it felt different than just simply sensing another Force-user. As R3 cut the communication call. Jayden looked at Grievous. "I will go after Tano, Skywalker is yours."

Grievous chuckled darkly.

Meanwhile, Ahsoka was with Rex, a few Clones, and R3, when they were stopped by a sudden ray-shield. "We found the reactor room, sir. The alarm triggered another security door, ray-shielded." Rex told Anakin on his communicator.

"This could take a while to bypass." Ahsoka said to him.

"Good luck with that." Anakin said simply, ending the transmission.

Ahsoka took of the backpack and placed it on the ground before smiling at R3. "Go ahead, Goldie. Make me proud." She said to the droid. R3 beeped before rolling over to the console.

"Oh, this'll be good." Rex said sarcastically as R3 plugged in. The sound of droids marching was getting louder.

"Those droids are getting close, sirs." Denal said as they all looked in the direction the sound was coming from.

"Do you think R3's going to open up that door any time soon?" Rex asked Ahsoka.

"He's working on it. Patience, Captain." she scolded him. The sound of marching started to get louder.

"I can always hot-wire it, sir." Denal suggested to Ahsoka.

"Hurry up, Goldie." Ahsoka told the droid impatiently, hearing the droids herself.

"I think we've run out of time." Rex said stating the obvious as the droids finally came around the corner and saw them.

"Blast' em!" The droid in front yelled out to the others.

Ahsoka soon ignited her Lightsaber and started deflecting the shots, meanwhile the Clones took cover and started returning fire. R3 then closed a blast door in front of the ray-shield. Ahsoka and Rex all noticed this.

Ahsoka and the Clones then saw Super Battle droids coming from the other corridor. Ahsoka turned her attention to the super droids while the Clones started diverting their attention between both groups.

"Rex, droid poppers! Now!" Ahsoka called out to the Captain.

"Droid poppers!" Rex yelled taking cover before throwing an EMP grenade at the supers, said droids attempted to shoot it. Only for their blasts to miss and after a few seconds it finally went off and disabled them. Rex threw another EMP at the other group. One of the droids picked it up and shaked it before holding it close to the side of it's head, before it went off disabling all of them as well. Ahsoka deactivated her saber while the Clones lowered their guns and walked back to the Jedi.

They then heard a Lightsaber activating and looked to see the ray shield had been deactivated,, the blast door open, revealing the figure of Darth Khan, his red crossguard Lightsaber illuminating in the darkness and casting an eerie red light.

Ahsoka was quick to move in front, brandishing her saber in a defensive posture as she took up position between Khan and the clones. "Leave him to me, boys." She ordered her men, refusing to lose any more to him. Khan twirled his saber in hand, assuming a Form II stance.

"And so we meet again." He growled.

"Let me guess… you're still spitting out sand from the last time I beat you." Ahsoka sneered with a smirk.

"There's no sand to help you this time." Khan retorted. "I have killed Jedi since last we met. Do not think I will hesitate to add you to my growing list."

"We'll see about that." Ahsoka smirked and leaped to meet her opponent. Jayden was calm in his stance, barely reacting to her making the first move until she swung her Lightsaner and he blocked while holding his Lightsaber with just one hand, then went straight on the offensive switching from Form II to Form III: Soreso, which he had managed to master. The change caught Ahsoka by surprise and she quickly had to go on the defensive as Jayden forced her back with one of the most effective forms of Lightsaber combat.

Ahsoka leaped back, backflipping, then landed on her feet in another defensive posture, her Lightsaber gripped in reverse once more.

"You've gotten better since I last saw you." Ahsoka noted, seeing that Khan was using Form III, when he had used Form II against her the last time.

"My defeat at your hands caused me to train harder... so that the result will be different." Jayden replied.

Ahsoka narrowed her eyes and charged, as did Khan, and their Lightsabers clashed. Red meeting green. Khan immediately went on the offensive as he started attacking with slashes, swings, and overhead attacks, causing Ahsoka to have to block, duck and dodge his attacks.

Khan swung low but Ahsoka jumped and managed to block again when landing on her feet. Khan pressed her up against the wall and took delight in her growing fear as he began pushing the Lightsabers down towards her neck.

"Hey Seppie!" One of the Clones shouted before firing at Jayden's back, causing him to grunt before he pinned Ahsoka to the wall using the Force, then threw his Lightsaber at the Clone, impaling him through the chest. Jayden strode forward, Lightsaber flying to his hand, Ahsoka still pinned to the wall.

The remaining Clones fired at Jayden who easily deflected and lunged at them, slashing and slicing through them before he saw the Captain and one another Trooper remaining. Jayden blasted them with Force Lightning and strode towards the Captain, raising his Lightsaber and brought it down when a green Lightsaber blocked it and Jayden looked to see Ahsoka had managed to get free of being held up by the Force.

"Sorry to interrupt your playtime, grumpy, but wouldn't you prefer a challenge?" Ahsoka taunted with a smirk.

"You are barely a challenge." Khan scoffed before he pushed her off and sung but Ahsoka leaped over and ran with the R3 unit beside her. Khan merely chuckled before walking after them.

Jayden followed Ahsoka into a large storage room and looked around. There was no sound save for Jayden's Lightsaber which illuminated the dark room a little. Jayden walked between rows of shelves slowly, looking for his prey.

"You cannot hide forever, Ahsoka." Jayden said loudly for her to hear him before he heard something make a thud a row down and went to investigate but found it was just a box that either fell on it's own… or Ahsoka used the Force. "Your efforsts are futile. Since our last encounter, a Jedi Master has fallen to my blade. I'll be sure to send Skywalker your head as my gift to him."

Jayden paused as he thought he heard movement before he saw a light illuminate Ahsoka thanks to the R3 unit. Jayden plunged his Lightsaber through the shelf, trying to get Ahsoka but she managed to leap out the way and run, but her comlink was destroyed in the process as Jayden crushed it under his boot.

"There is no one to help you now." Jayden said as he looked at Ahsoka before he reared back but Ahsoka rolled through a gap in the shelf beside her, causing Jayden to grunt in annoyance. "Persistent girl, aren't you?"

"it's one of more likeable traits!" Ahsoka called back with a smirk before she went silent as she tried to hide from him.

Ahsoka jumped on top of one of the shelves and remained silent as she watched Khan look around for her. Shen then closed her eyes as she spread her senses out with the Force, trying to get a read on this guy.

Suddenly, Jayden whired around and Force pushed the shelves over, causing Ahsoka to scream as she went tumbling. She groaned at the hard impact, shaking her head, before looking to see Khan approaching her, Lightsaber in hand, when suddenly R3 rolled up to look between them.

"Goldie!" Ahsoka gasped.

"R3, go and make sure Skywalker does not escape with his droid!" Jayden ordered, getting an affirmative from R3 who rolled away.

"That stubby little backstabber!" Ahsoka growled, causing Jayden to chuckle in amusement before he caught her in the Force choke and brought her closer.

"Time to end this." Jayden growled before he went to swing his saber when the whole station shook, causing Jayden to lose focus and this allowed Ahsoka to swing her Lightsaber and slash Jayden across the chest, causing him to grunt and drop her. Ahsoka then sent him flying into a shelf with the Force push and watched it all topple onto him.

"Guess that's twice you've been defeated by me!" Ahsoka quipped with a smirk before she ran out the room just as Jayden threw the junk off him with a Force repulse.

"This isn't over, Ahsoka." Jayden growled as he grabbed his Lightsaber. "You merely interest me more and more."

Knowing the station was going to explode from the sounds of the rumbling, Jayden knew it was time to leave so he made for where the Rogue Shadow will be…

And that's it for this chapter, hope you all enjoyed it.
