DuckBoi: Thanks.
Arbiter3670: I'll think about it.
Yubel578: Eventually they will, the fact he's wearing Revan's robes, mask and wields a red and purple Lightsaber will clue them in to a connection.
Disclaimer: I do not own Star Wars: The Clone Wars. I only own the OC Jayden Shan/Darth Khan.
Now that they had their forces on the ground, the plan was to destroy the factory creating the droids to complete the second battle of Geonosis. Obi-Wan and Mundi wouldn't be taking part in this part of the operation, instead it would be Anakin and Master Luminara in charge. Right now, Anakin and Ahsoka had gotten their squad of Clones together while they waited for Luminara and her reinforcements to arrive, Artoo brought up a hologram of the area before Ahsoka briefed them.
"This bridge is our first waypoint focus your fire on the gun emplacements, here and here. Because it's only-" She started, pointing to the bridge then two spots on the factory side as red dots appeared on the map before Anakin cut her off and continued to explain.
"Because it's only after we neutralize the guns can we push for the factory." Ahsoka was about to complain to him for interrupting her.
"I was…!" She started before relenting and continuing to explain, "Yes, we can push for the factory now expect stiff resistance from-" Anakin interrupted again and moved to stand in front of her while she gave him a brief irritated look,
"And don't forget to top off your energy cells and ration packs, once we leave there will be no resupply. Anything else, Ahsoka?" He asked, turning his head to her
"No. I think you've pretty much covered everything. In my briefing." She replied, sounding miffed.
"Very well, squad dismissed." Anakin said to the troops. The Clones then took their leave. "Okay, what's next?" Anakin asked Ahsoka as they turned off the holo app.
"You know, Master my briefings might go better if you didn't interrupt me every time I tried to-" She started, her tone still irritated before he interrupted her again.
"I wasn't interrupting, I was trying to help you." He said, defending himself.
Ahsoka only seemed to get even angrier. "Which I would appreciate if you didn't interrupt me to do it. I just think you don't trust me to give the briefing!" she accused me of frowning.
Her Master suddenly turned to face her. "It's not about trust, it's about getting the job done right." He said defensively.
She raised her finger like a lawyer about to object. "So you don't trust me to get the job done right! I knew it!" She accused.
Anakin sighed at her claim. "Snips, I never-" He started only for Ahsoka to interrupt him this time.
"No. No. It's okay, I understand. I'm the Padawan, you're the Master." She said, her tone sounding bitter as she crossed her arms in annoyance.
Not too far away, Luminara's gunship landed and the side doors opened to allow the Jedi Master and her Padawan, fellow Mirialan Barriss Offee. The two were greeted by Captain Rex upon disembarking the gunship. "Good day, General. Skywalker's waiting for you."
"Thank you, captain." Luminara nodded with a small smile before she and her Padawan started walking to where Anakin and Ahsoka were, and they could hear the argument between the two which caused Luminara to withhold a sigh while Barriss looked a little concerned at the sight. "At it again, are they?"
"Again, Master?" Bariss sent her Master a confused look.
Luminara looked at her. "Let's just say that they have a penchant for playing loose with regulations and rules of command."
The closer they got, the clearer they could hear what was being said. "...if you listened to me." They heard Anakin say.
Ahsoka huffed, crossing her arms as she sent him an annoyed look. "Well if you don't trust me then maybe you should send me back!"
"Don't tempt me, Snips." Anakin said, sounding like he just might.
Luminara, wanting this over with before they could say something they'll regret... and because they have a job to do, spoke up. "If you're both finished with your little discussion, we do have a factory to destroy." She said, cutting the argument down and reminding them of their duty. She then glanced at her Padawan. "Well, Barriss? Aren't you going to introduce yourself?"
Bariss stepped forward and smiled at Anakin and Ahsoka, bowing. "Padawan learner Barriss Offee at your service."
Ahsoka couldn't help but smile back, feeling a little more glad there was a fellow Padawan on the battlefield now. "Glad to meet you, I'm Ahsoka."
Anakin smiled. "It's good to see both of you again." He said sincerely.
Luminara sighed and glanced at him with her own small smile. "I wish it was under more peaceful circumstances."
As the wounded were loaded onto the gunships, the four Jedi stood before the holomap of their target area, to go over a strategy on how to bring down the droid factory. Luminara had her hand on her chin, thinking as she analysed the map before speaking. "A frontal assault is risky our losses will be high."
"But not as high as they'll be if that factory comes online." Anakin pointed out.
"Indeed." Luminara agreed. "But there is an alternative." On the map, a series of tunnels appeared beneath the factory. "Every Geonosian building has a series of catacombs beneath it that run deep underground."
"Some of the tunnels are close enough to this cliff wall, so that you could cut a hole and make an entry point." Barriss said as the red dot moved down and towards the wall.
Luminara spoke again as the dot started weaving up through one of the tunnels, "Once inside, we could find the main reactor, plant the explosives and blow the factory inside out." she finished as the dot expanded and covered the factory before disappearing.
"Looks like a good way to get lost if you ask me." Anakin said, his tone sounding unconvinced it would work.
"To the unprepared, perhaps." Luminara said before looking at and gesturing to Barriss as she continued, "But I have instructed Barriss to memorize the labyrinth, all 200 junctions."
Anakin gave Luminara a grin and spoke, "You always were thorough." He said with a smirk.
"It pays for one to be prepared, right Barriss?" She smirked, glancing at her Padawan.
"Especially when other people's lives depend on your success." Barriss agreed,
"How do we keep the Geonosians occupied while someone else is setting the bombs?" Ahsoka asked.
"Good point, Snips. If whoever's going in there has gotta be successful, we'll need to create a diversion." Anakin said, turning his attention to Luminara.
"Precisely. That task will be carried out by you and I, Skywalker. While the destruction of the factory falls to the padawans." Luminara said
"Now hold on, who decided that?" Anakin asked her, frowning as Ahsoka placed her hand on her hips and glared at him. "Walking into that factory could be suicide!" he argued.
The Jedi Master next to him glared at the man. "Not if you and I are successful at holding Poggle's attention at the bridge." Luminara said to Anakin
Ahsoka leaned over to Anakin who still wasn't a believer in the plan. "Master, I can do this I've had riskier assignments!" She argued.
"But unlike Barriss, you aren't prepared for this mission." He argued back.
"Not to worry, my Padawan is reliable." Luminara assured. "She can lead them through the maze."
"We'll be in and out, Master." Barriss assured as well.
"See? Dependable Barriss will get us through don't worry, Master as you well know, I can follow orders." She said with a slight mocking tone and smirk while folding her arms.
Anakin sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose. Why did his Padawan have to be so stubborn and reckless? That was meant to be him... sometimes, not all the time. "Fine. But both of you better be wary and careful. Ahsoka said she sensed Darth Khan earlier, so he'll most likely become a problem if he goes after you two."
"Darth Khan himself?" Barriss said with a little widening of her eyes. "I've heard about him, through other Jedi and my Master."
"Believe me, Barriss, he's not a foe you should underestimate." Luminara warned. "That goes for you as well, Ahsoka."
Ahsoka rolled her eyes. "I've faced him plenty of times and haven't died yet."
"Yet." Anakin emphasised. "Be mindful and wary, my young Padawan. Your rivalry with him shouldn't cloud your judgement."
"So you can't trust me to take him down?" Ahsoka asked with narrowed eyes.
"I'm not going to get into this." Anakin shook his head. "It's decided."
"Indeed." Luminara agreed, handing Ahsoka a backpack filled with the explosives. She then raised her wrist showing a chronometer on her gauntlet, "We'll monitor your progress on these chronometers." She gave them one each. ""We'll sync on my mark." They got ready to press the button as she counted down, "Three. Two. One. Mark." The devices beeped simultaneously and flashed green once for all the Jedi wearing them.
"Let's get going. After you Barris." Ahsoka said as Barriss took the lead and they started running towards the bridge, their Masters watching them go and Luminara glanced at the man next to her.
"You feel Ahsoka's not up to the task." She stated more than asked.
"I never said that." Anakin said, looking at her.
"What is it, then?" She inquired. "Her eagerness to face Darth Khan every time he's in the area?"
"Believe me, that's one thing that concerns me." Anakin grumbled, watching his Padawan leave with worry. "I just... think she'll let it get to her head and it'll cost her her life."
"You must trust that she can handled herself, Skywalker." Luminara said softly.
Anakin sighed. "Let's prepare the men."
The two Jedi Generals turned their attention back to the holomap, with Luminara speaking. "We'll have to make a bold move if we're to draw them out of the factory and keep their attention on us and not the Padawans."
Anakin nodded in agreement. "The best way to do that is to march our troops straight up the middle, parade style. They can't resist that.
"With no cover?" Luminara frowned.
"Well, we have to make it tempting." Anakin told her.
In the main command base for the Separatist operations, Jayden stood before a red holomap with Poggle and a tactical droid. The masked Sith had his arms crossed, watching the map calculatingly. He had watched the Republic make their landing, and suffered heavy casualties in the process. Much as he would've liked to go out and kill them, he stayed back to watch. The factory was the main thing to protect, as it was key to the Separatists.
"The factory is operating at 50% production capacity. We have 10 garrisons of new droids ready to deploy." The tactical droid reported, causing Poggle to reply back in his language which Jayden didn't understand without the droid there to translate, but the tactical droid understood what he said. "No, the Super Tanks are not ready, but when they are, the Republic forces will be routed. They have no weapon that can penetrate its heavy armor."
Anakin and Luminara were marching in full force to the droid factory with their entire army behind them, clones in parade march and the tanks between each battalion. Commander Jet stood close behind Luminara as they marched .Suddenly, the gate of the droid factory rise and a full army of fully assembled battle droids marching out.
"Here come the droids." Anakin said before glancing at the troops. "Everybody steady! Steady... keep marching."
"I hope the Padawans made it past the bridge by now." Luminara muttered.
As she said it, the droid marching out was unaware of Ahsoka and Barriss climbing down the cliff, with the droid army not even spotting them but the Padawans saw them.
"That looks like a lot of droids." Anakin said beside Luminara "Well it is a droid factory."
"As long as we can destroy them faster then they can make them, we'll come out on top." Anakin said.
Luminara snickered, shaking her head at his confidence, "I love your simple logic, Skywalker." She said before they both took out their green and blue Lightsabers.
"Here we go!" Anakin exclaimed as the droids fired, the Jedi deflecting the shots back while the Clones fired on the droids. It was a total mess as blaster shots shot from both sides, with the blue and green Lightsabers swinging and deflecting some shots from the droids. The Republic forces then charged to engage the droids closer and take them down.
Once nearing the bottom, Ahsoka and Barriss jumped down and ran over to the other cliff wall. Barriss felt around for a second before igniting her blue Lightsaber and proceeded to cut a big rectangle in it, before she used the Force to pull the rock out and drop it on the ground.
"Nice work." Ahsoka complimented before walking up to the hole. "Well, here goes nothing."
She moved to enter when Barriss grabbed her shoulder to stop her. "I should go in first. I know the way." She reminded gently.
"Be my guest." Ahsoka said with a smirk and gestured to the hole
Barriss stepped in, looking around for a bit and moved, Ahsoka entering after her.
Jayden lifted his head and turned to the side, frowning as he sensed something... a familiar presence. He recognized it instantly, but was very confused on how he senses her so easily and quickly every time she's in the area with him. It wasn't the same with other Jedi, he only sensed their Force signature but was unable to identify them directly.
Ahsoka... Jayden thought, feeling a stir in him just by thinking of her before he shook it off. He closed his eyes to get a fix on her, and discovered she... was in the catacombs underneath the building.
"We have a Jedi inside." He announced to the room, causing Poggle to chitter in anger and surprise. "Leave them to me, I will deal with them myself."
With that, he left the room.
After a few minutes of jogging through the dark caves, the Padawans stopped and pressed their backs against the walls when they noticed two Geonosians up ahead on guard. The bugs looked in their direction for a couple of seconds before walking off. The two Padawans crouched before moving forward again when they came up on a corridor with some light shining in it and lots of sleeping Geonosians before stopping.
"They're sleeping." Barriss whispered.
"We have to find another way." Ahsoka whispered urgently as she looked around.
"We don't have time! This direction is the fastest." Barriss whispered back to her, gesturing forward with a nod.
Ahsoka still didn't think it was a good idea like Anakin. "Maybe you're wrong!" Ahsoka whispered back, hoping she was.
"Trust me." Barriss urged back before the girls started moving forward again.
The Padawans moved slowly while making sure not to touch any outstretched limbs when a hand suddenly landed on Barriss' head.
"Ahsoka." Barriss tried to call out in a whisper. The Togruta Padawan looked back to see the hand and came up to gently lift the warriors and off her head, careful not to wake him. When they moved ahead, none of them realized the warrior was awake.
As they moved on, Barriss guided them down the labyrinth of tunnels. "Left at the next junction." Barriss told them as they walked forward before turning left.
"Dead end." Ahsoka said after they noticed a wall in front of them. "If we make a wrong turn, we may never find our way out you do remember the way, don't you?"
Barriss held her chin in thought. "Of course I do." She replied frowning before looking around. Her eyes widened as she looked up behind her. "It's not left. It's up!" she realized. "It's this way." She said before jumping up through the hole above them, Ahsoka jumped up after her.
Unbeknownst to them, behind them was the Geonosian warrior who they'd accidentally awoken.
Up on the battlefield, Luminara and Anakin were pressing on against the droids as a squad of droidekas rolled up to stop them. "Rex, a little help here?" Anakin ordered his second in command.
"Get up there trooper." Rex ordered Jet who ran between the two Jed with a rocket launcher blasting the droids into oblivion along with a barrage of cannon fire from the Republic tanks.
Inside Poggle's factory the Geonosian leader slammed his fist down on his holotable, watching the Republic getting closer and closer before he turned to his command droid and spoke in his native language.
"My lord, I beg you to let us use the secret weapon." The droid said. Poggle replied something again. "We have twenty units in reserve and another on the way."
Poggle nodded then, seeing no other choice.
"Thank you my lord." The droid said before he pressed a button on the command rooms console. "Deploy the supertanks. Attack formation."
Outside the factory gates suddenly poured twenty new droid vehicles rolled out of the factory across the bridge, they were bulbous with shell like designs and blue stripes of the Confederacy running on the top and back of them.
"Looks like the Separatists have a new toy." Luminara said stopping along with the Clones.
Anakin looked back at the Arc trooper with him "Rex, pick your targets."
Rex heard him and was already by the Republic cannons. "Yes sir, elevation four two seven." Rex ordered as the guns raised up.
Down under the factory, the Padawans reached the top and climbed out just underneath the factory before looking through a hole above them. "Whoa, that's a lot of droids." Ahsoka said as multiple rows of droids were moved along the area.
"Come on, the main control room's this way." Barriss said as they took off forward and down another tunnel later they climbed up through a metal tube.
They were still unaware of the Geonosian warrior behind them.
"This is it we're here." Barriss said after they opened the hatch, the Padawans hopped out of it and into a giant circular room with the reactor in the middle. The two ran up to it and Ahsoka started attaching the explosives to it.
Once she was done, she smirked at Barriss. "And now, we make ourselves scarce."
They turned to run, only for a blast door to open and reveal Darth Khan standing there. Ahsoka's expression sharpened as she and Barriss activated their Lightsabers, and Jayden activated his as he entered the room, facing the two Padawans.
"Darth Khan!" Bariss' eyes widened as she activated her Lightsaber on instinct, taking a step back. She had heard the stories of him, both from the HoloNet and from her Master who had actually fought him herself. Seeing him in person... the stories made him out to be terrifying and she was experiencing it firsthand.
"I had a feeling he'd show." Ahsoka muttered as she activated her Lightsaber. "It's been a while! I was hoping you died when you got sucked into space the last time we met."
Jayden walked towards them. "It is delusion to think that had any good consequences." He activated his red crossguard Lightsaber. "But now I have come for you."
He lunged and met the two Padawans in a duel, spinning and deflecting Barriss' attack before turning in time to block Ahsoka's. He pushed her back, ducked under Barriss' attack and tried slashing her but she twirled her saber, parrying his and attempted a decapitation only for him to duck down and go for a impale attempt but Ahsoka drove the tip of her saber into the side of his, knocking it off guard and causing it to strike the ground. Jayden rolled away and stood up, twirling his saber as he eyed the two Jedi Padawans.
Ahsoka and Barriss shared a look before they ran, attempting to attack him from either side. Jayden glanced back and fourth between them with amusement before he jumped into the air, causing the two Padawans to halt before they could collide with each other. Jayden landed on his feet right in front of them and blasted Barriss with Force lightning, causing her to scream as she was sent flying into the wall while Jayden blocked Ahsoka's saber attack. Stopping his assault, Jayden saw Barriss temporarily down, and focused on Ahsoka.
They soon entered a saber clash before Jayden broke it and swung his weapon, but Ahsoka ducked under his swing, shot to her feet and blocked his backwards attack, the two of them entering another saber lock However, Jayden soon broke it and sent her flying off her feet with a Force push. Jayden leaped and brought his saber down but Ahsoka blocked in time.
He sensed something and quickly grabbed his purple Lightsaber, raising it in time to block Barriss' blue saber. Now he had them both in a saber lock while Ahsoka looked surprised to see the purple Lightsaber. She had noticed him with a second Lightsaber since after Felucia, but he had never used it yet. Did he now know duel-wielding?
Jayden spun and twirled, blocking their attacks with his two sabers. It was a fury of blue, green, purple and red as they swung their sabers, Jayden keeping them on their feet and matching their attacks easily. He leaped out of the way of Barriss' slash attack and tried cutting her down when Ahsoka blocked his red saber with her green saber. Jayden swung his purple saber but Ahsoka flipped and blocked that as well.
"He lives up to the stories." Barriss admitted as she and Ahsoka regrouped.
"I know." Ahsoka nodded.
The two padawans charged at Jayden, and he at them. Their sabers clashed and Jayden gritted his teeth as he tried to overpower them, but they sound found themselves pushing their Lightsabers to the side... right towards the generator with the bombs attached to it. As soon as they saw this, all three widened their eyes.
"Oh kriff!" Jayden groaned just as the Lightsabers touched the bombs and caused them to explode. The explosion sent them off their feet and brought everything down on them. Jayden grunted and felt his vision go dark.
On the surface, Anakin and Luminara heard the explosion and saw the droid factory start falling and crumbling down as it exploded. When the dust settled, Anakin and Luminara were standing at the edge of a gigantic crater of burning metal and rock. The entire factory had been destroyed, caving in on itself from the explosion into a pile of smoke and ash,
Anakin raised his arm. "Ahsoka, come in, come in?!" Anakin almost shouted into his comlink. When no answer came, Luminara knelt down. "Master Luminara don't worry."
"Be at ease Skywalker." She said calmly but with a hint of sadness in her voice.
"At ease, we need to act now! The Padawans may still be alive down there!" Anakin said.
Luminara shook her head slowly "There's not enough time, I sense them drifting away."
"No we'll get them out." Anakin declared as gunships arrived carrying Clones, and they started searching for the Padawans.
Ahsoka coughed as she came to and found something pinning her down, but it wasn't debris or anything. She grabbed her Lightsaber and turned it on to illuminate the darkness, and her eyes widened when she saw an unconscious Darth Khan on top of her. Well, not fully, but he had his arm draped across her midsection. His breathing inicated he was alive, but unconscious.
Slowly, Ahsoka removed his arm, trying to not rouse him. She heard a Lightsaber activated and looked to see Barriss nearby, looking at the unconscious Sith Apprentice. "Is he...?" She started.
"No, he's alive." Ahsoka shook her head, then looked around before spotting a crushed crossguard Lightsaber nearby. She looked at Khan and saw his second Lightsaber, the purple-bladed one, hooked to his belt. She took it, so that he didn't have a weapon on him should he awaken. If he did, he'd waste not time in killing them before trying to free himself from under all this debris. To keep her mind off the unconscious Sith beside her, she looked at Barriss. "You okay?"
Barriss nodded, then looked around. "How deep do you think we're buried?" The Mirialan queried.
"It's probably best not to think about it." Ahsoka murmured in reply. She started to think, to plan. She looked around, her blue eyes soon landing on a nearby wall-mounted power box that was surprisingly still intact. "Hand me the power cell from that box conduit will you?" Barriss reached for the wall, removing a single cylinder. "Thanks. Mind holding the light?"
"Whatever you're doing, I hope it works." Barriss mused as she took Ahsoka's lightsaber. "Because I'd sure rather have died fighting up there than starving to death down here."
"Don't worry. We'll run out of air long before we starve." Ahsoka morbidly remarked.
"That's a comforting thought. Thanks." Barriss sarcastically replied. Ahsoka continued to fiddle with the power cell, disassembling it into core components.
"Master Skywalker had taught me a trick or two. I think I can get this communicator working." She explained. They sat in silence for a moment as Ahsoka worked, picking apart her broken commlink and integrating pieces of the power cell.
"What happens to us now doesn't matter. By destroying this factory we've saved countless lives elsewhere." Barriss commented. Ahsoka nodded in acceptance but refused to give up just yet.
"Well I'm about to save two more." She replied. The teen started tapping the open end of the commlink against the power cell, creating a brief electric pulse as she did. Knowing the inner-workings of how commlinks worked well enough, her efforts were beginning to be rewarded…
Carrier-model LAATs had been brought in to help move the debris. But even with the extra manpower and machinery, Anakin's patience wore extremely thin. He knew time was short, he knew Ahsoka and Barriss didn't have long… but the reality presented a great many obstacles to be overcome first. "We cannot abandon our Padawans." He growled under his breath. Luminara sensed his emotions plainly, he's wasn't exactly hiding them and they were vividly on display.
"You misjudge me. I too care for my apprentice," Luminara said quietly, "but if their time has come-"
"I refuse to let Ahsoka die." Anakin snapped, a fierce look in his eyes. "She will find a way out."
"If my Padawan has perished, I will mourn her, but I will celebrate her as well through her memory." Luminara stated, sounding like a very traditional Jedi.
You may think it's wrong to care, to feel something. But I'm not like that. I won't ever be like that no matter how much you want me to be.
"Well, I still plan on celebrating this victory with my Padawan… in person." Anakin retorted in a firm voice. All of a sudden, his commlink began to beep. It was singular, one blip after another. "Wait… I'm picking up a pulse on Ahsoka's comm channel." He exclaimed. He traced it, following the electrical impulses. "It's coming from over there!"
"I'll move the heavy machinery over, sir." Rex stated.
"No time." Anakin countered. With that, he closed his eyes and sank deep into the Force and Luminara did likewise. Together, their power doubled and took control over the debris. Even with one arm, Master Luminara's power went unchecked, raising her good limb along with Anakin as they lifted massive slabs of metal telekinetically. Soon the debris was lifted…
And moments later, a dusty, dirt-covered Barriss and Ahsoka emerged from the remains, coughing and spluttering as they stepped into daylight. The Masters were collectively surprised, happy and relieved.
"Barriss!"
"Ahsoka! I knew they were still alive. I told you we shouldn't give up on them." Anakin said.
"It's not that I gave up, Skywalker. But unlike you, when the time comes, I am prepared to let my student go." Luminara countered. "Can you say the same?" Anakin stayed silent and said nothing more as he dropped down into the pit along with Rex, Kix and a few other Clones. Ahsoka looked up at him with bright, tired eyes.
"I knew you'd come looking for me." She commented with a smile. Anakin returned it.
"I never doubted you for a second." He said warmly. Luminara joined them shortly.
"Padawan, you did well." She praised Barriss.
"Thank you, Master. But it it weren't for Ahsoka, we'd still be trapped." Barriss replied, glancing at her newfound friend appreciatively. Luminara nodded.
"Indeed." She looked approvingly towards the Togruta. "Your Master never lost faith in you."
Ahsoka smiled before it fell as she remembered a certain fact. "Masters... there's something you need to know. We... we encountered Darth Khan while we were in the factory."
"What?" Anakin's eyes widened while Luminara looked alarmed and glanced at her padawan who nodded to confirm Ahsoka's story. "Is he down there?"
"Yes. He was buried under the debris with us... he's unconscious and his weapon shattered." Ahsoka said then handed Anakin Khan's Lightsaber. "Well, one of them anyway."
Anakin held the weapon and stared at it for a moment. "I'll have a few men sent down to put him out of his misery." He darkly said.
"What?" Ahsoka's eyes widened as Anakin turned to give that order. "Master, you can't!"
"Why not?" Anakin turned to her with a frown.
"We… W-We should take him prisoner, right? Send him back to Coruscant where… where he can watch us win the war." She chose her words carefully, using terms Anakin would recognize and appreciate. She knew him well enough by now to know where his thoughts would take him.
"After what he's done?" Anakin retorted.
"Isn't that what we've always done?" Ahsoka protested. "To Cad Bane after kidnapping younglings? To Ziro the Hutt for framing us? To Nute Gunray for leading the Separatists?" Her questions hung in the air and Anakin, at least, remained stationary. Swallowing, finding the confidence to continue, Ahsoka pressed him further. "Aren't we supposed to… you know, defend and protect? Not attack?"
"Your Padawan is correct, Skywalker." Luminara cut in, supporting Ahsoka. "A Jedi respects life in any form. And a Jedi never acts from hatred, anger, fear or aggression." She recited the Code perfectly, and it bolstered Ahsoka's position perfectly.
"After what he did to us? All the Jedi he's slain? He's the enemy." Anakin said, lowering his lightsaber.
"Then let him be treated like one. Let him face the Republic's justice. Not ours." Luminara continued. "It is up to us to show that we are still guardians of peace. Our first step is always to keep the peace, even with those we call 'enemy'." Anakin let his arm fall to his side. He saw he was outnumbered. Even though he did not like it, he could not defy a high-ranking Master like Luminara. Being only a Knight, she outranked him as far as the chain of command went.
We better not regret this.
Anakin looked to the edge of the crater. "Rex… contact Kix. Tell him… Tell him we have a wounded prisoner who needs transporting."
Alright, I've changed the ending of this chapter so that I can replace Escape from Geonosis with Brain Invaders, which is the episode that concludes the whole Geonosis arc... well it involves the worms and whatnot. And Jayden's gonna be a prisoner during that event... which means he and Ahsoka may have to work together to survive.
