Sorry about the long wait but a new Pokemon Chapter is here!

It had taken Brooklyn a few days straight but he was on his way to the next gym in Cerulean City. He knew that was where Misty lived but hadn't seen her since before going to Veridian City.

With his new Pokémon Squirtle and a Boulder Badge, Brooklyn grinned while adjusting his backpack, eager to get there and win another!

"I know I can do this, even if it takes me all day to get there," Brooklyn said silently to himself, still looking forward to practicing.

But when seeing a sign that pointed to Cerulean City, Brooklyn thought he spotted some words on it that said: Gary was here, Ash is a loser. Raising his brow, Brooklyn rolled his eyes then, continuing on his way. So Gary had already stopped at this gym already huh? And he probably has more Pokémon too.

Walking along the dirt road soon had him spotting a cave from afar, ears pricked. Maybe he could catch even more Pokémon! But Brooklyn himself forgot about a little thing that all new trainers had to learn.

He ran inside but noted how bright the cave here was. This wasn't normal. Looking around in the entrance, Brooklyn wound up hearing a noise.

"Clefairy! Clefairy!" A white pink fairy looking Pokémon jumped by past him, startling the red gargoyle. "Whoa, another Pokemon!" He gasped, pulling out his Pokeball.

Brooklyn was about to throw it when an instinct inside said he shouldn't catch this one, his arm lowering, feeling disappointed until another Pokemon showed itself, an armadillo like one.

"Sandshrew!" It called to him, scurrying about. Brooklyn grinned, knowing this would be a proper one to catch, pulling out his Pokédex. "Sandshrew, an armadillo Pokemon. It's back resembles brick pavement or walls. It has a short tail, four short legs and a small head. They can curl into a very tight ball."

Putting it away, Brooklyn figured this would be Squirtle's first battle before doing a real battle. "Squirtle, I choose you!"

The turtle Pokemon came out, glaring at his rival. "Squirtle!" Brooklyn pointed. "Ok, Squirtle, use water gun!"

Squirtle shot a water blast at the Sandshrew. Sandshrew ducked out of the way, rolling into a ball, knocking Squirtle back who cried out but landed on his feet again. Brooklyn glared. A tough one huh?

"Use tackle!" Brooklyn called. Squirtle charged head on, managing this time to knock Sandshrew, then managed to use its water gun attack again. Sandshrew yelled from the water hits, eventually soon feeling ready to quit, falling flat on its back again.

Brooklyn grinned in triumph, pulling out his Pokeball. "Pokeball, Go!" He tossed it, having it hit against the unconscious Sandshrew which had a red beam pull him in. The Pokeball jiggled for a moment, then fell still.

That to Brooklyn so far was the best battle, picking it up. "Yeah, I got Sandshrew…! Huh?" For his Pokeball suddenly disappeared into thin air! How could he have lost a new Pokemon already? Disappointment ran through his body, knowing he would have several questions for Professor Oak later. He supposed he was going to have to keep going to the gym then with the Pokemon he already had.

Trudging along the dirt path for another mile, Brooklyn squinted at the sight of a large city coming up. Not as large as Viridian City but still pretty close. Grinning Brooklyn ran as fast as possible, wanting to be able to check in at the gym and find a phone.

Soon he managed to get into the city, walking through the streets in awe at the sight of many humans around until Brooklyn yelped from being tackled again like before with Officer Jenny.

Yet again, it was her, holding his arm and her boot was on his back, causing him to cry out in pain. "Freeze stray Pokemon!" Jenny yelled, glaring down.

This was getting on Brooklyn's nerves. "Ugh, for the millionth time, I'm not a Pokemon and I'm not hurting anybody! Let me up… please!" Brooklyn grimaced, Jenny noting the truth in his voice, letting him stand but cautiously.

Brooklyn stared, unable to believe that Officer Jenny worked here too. She looked just like the other Jenny from Pewter City! "O-Officer Jenny?" He asked, confused.

Jenny nodded. "Yes, how do you know my name?"

"I… uh… met one just like you back in Veridian City before Pewter City." Brooklyn explained, wondering how all of this worked with her. Jenny then smiled. "That was another one of my cousins! But we hardly ever look alike."

The beaked male gave her a blank look. "If you say so."

Jenny then had her glare back. "But what are you, and what business do you even have here?"

Gulping, Brooklyn pulled out his Pokédex. "I'm a new Pokemon trainer for the Indigo League, I promise." Jenny inspected his Pokédex before nodding. "Very well then, I'll let you get to the Cerulean Gym, not too far from here, just a couple of blocks."

Brooklyn bowed. "Thanks." He went on his way again, Jenny watching after him in curiosity.

After walking for the few miles like Officer Jenny said, Brooklyn finally saw a pink and yellow looking building with what looked like a white seal with a horn on top. "This must be it," Brooklyn said to himself, taking a breath before going to the front doors.

There was a lot of noise from inside the gym, which looked like a big pool. Brooklyn stared at the big crowd there in the seats, wondering what was going on.

A splash hit his ears, turning to see three women having dove into the water, doing various tricks, smiling and waving at the crowd. They were quite beautiful, Brooklyn's cheeks growing redder than normal, backing up, not sure if he was willing to battle them if they were the gym leader.

After their show was done the women left, Brooklyn going down the stairs hoping to ask them questions, finding himself in what looked like an aquarium.

"I am so looking forward to our next practice, Daisy," One of the ladies said happily, Brooklyn turning about to see the trio before him, feeling more nervous, hoping he was in the right place.

"For sure, it will be a crowd pleaser." Daisy replied. A man's voice caught their attention at that moment.

Brooklyn waved in anxiety. "Uh, hi girls. I-I…"

Daisy's eyes rounded in fright. "Monster!" She shrieked, pointing at Brooklyn who backed away, his wings lowered, having expected this. The second girl was terrified too but the third wasn't. She eyed him in curiosity.

"What business does a strange creature like you have here at our gym?" The third sister named Violet asked, Daisy and Lily stared at her in shock that she wasn't scared.

Swallowing Brooklyn managed to get himself to answer. "I'm here to battle the gym leader. Do you know where they are?"

Violet narrowed her eyes. "Our dear sister Misty is the one who is in charge of this gym. But since she isn't here, I'm more than willing to challenge the likes of you if you want the Cerulean Badge creature."

"Technically I'm a gargoyle. And I come in peace. I don't want to hurt any of you." Brooklyn said, raising his hands to show signs of not wanting to cause trouble, but he was surprised that Misty the girl he met earlier was an actual gym leader.

Daisy had calmed down but was still worried. "Are you sure we can trust him, sister?" She asked Violet. "And we really don't battle anymore."

Violet grinned at them. "I had desired something exciting to do after all of our swimming. Come on girls, let's take him to the training room." She gestured with her hand. "Follow us… your name?"

Brooklyn inclined his head in greeting. "Brooklyn ma'am. And thanks." He walked behind them, keeping his wings caped as to not intimidate the other two sisters.

When going into the training room, Brooklyn gazed around in awe at the big pool. This must be for only water Pokemon. He stood at one end of the gym while Violet stood at the other.

Brooklyn gave her a challenging grin. "Ready when you are!" He called to her. Violet smiled back, tossing her Pokeball up and down. "This is a two on two Pokemon battle with no time limit. Seel, I choose you!"

The Pokemon Brooklyn saw on the gym billboard appeared, the white seal Pokemon with a horn. "Seel, Seel." It said, clapping its flippers.

The red male narrowed his eyes, knowing he would need to use both Squirtle and or Charmander if he wanted his chance to win. He decided to start with Squirtle to spice things up after his warm up. "Squirtle, I choose you!"

His new Pokemon appeared in a challenge stance. "Squirtle!" Brooklyn glared, pointing. "Squirtle, use bubble beam!"

Squirtle jumped into the air, shooting the bubbles from his mouth at Seel. Violet narrowed her eyes. "Seel, dodge it!" Seel managed to do so, even using its tail to knock the bubble beam back. Squirtle's eyes widened as it hit him, leaving him winded.

"You ok, Squirtle?" Brooklyn asked. The turtle Pokemon nodded. "Squirtle!"

Squirtle got back up, narrowing his eyes, wanting to defeat Seel. "Seel, Aqua Tail!" Violet called, Seel diving into the water. Squirtle looked around in fear, until Seel breached, swinging its tail harshly, smacking Squirtle away who hit the wall in a heap, looking dizzy.

Feeling nervous now, Brooklyn pulled out his Pokeball. "Squirtle return." He said in reluctance, allowing him to rest. Violet grinned, folding her arms. "Give up?"

It made the beaked male narrow his eyes. "Never!" He pulled out another Pokeball. "Come on, Charmander. Don't let me down boy. I choose you!" He tossed it, Charmander appearing, his eyes glaring.

Violet smiled. "A Charmander huh? Nice move but it won't last long. Seel, headbutt!" She ordered, pointing with her finger, Seel charging forward to slam Charmander which was a bad move.

Brooklyn did a determined stance, grinning, swishing his tail. "Charmander, Flamethrower!"

Charmander charged up his flame and shot a huge wave of one at Seel that sent it collapsing to the floor next to the pool, its eyes looking dizzy. Violet gasped in disappointment but in worry. "Oh, my precious Seel! Are you alright?"

The Pokemon moaned. "Seel…" It replied, having Violet eventually call her back. "Seel, return. You can rest."

Brooklyn folded his muscled arms in triumph. "Any other moves?" It was pretty much close to the end of the match, Violet shaking her head, lowering it. "I suppose you win Brooklyn."

That quite startled him, his eyes blinking, not having expected to win so fast. "But… don't you have another Pokemon?"

Violet nodded but spoke further. "Yes though however your Charmander is proven to be quite a powerful Pokemon. Which is why we don't do battles like this so much anymore, mostly because of us not wanting our Pokemon to be hurt." She said sadly, Daisy next coming over with a small box.

Brooklyn eyed her in curiosity. "We reward you with the Cascade badge, for proving you can hold your own in a battle." Violet announced, Daisy opening it and revealing the blue badge. He gasped, taking it in his hands, feeling rather weak but pleased, looking at the girls in thankfulness. "Thanks, but…"

Lily shook her head. "No excuses, that badge is all yours Brooklyn. And we wish you luck in the Indigo League."

Tears in his eyes, Brooklyn nodded, placing his badge with the other on his backpack, both shining. He now had a Boulder Badge and a Cascade Badge! Just 6 more for him to be qualified.

He turned back to the others. "It was great to meet you all and thanks for the battle. But if you see Misty, tell her I said hi. And… do you have a phone? I need to talk to Professor Oak."

Violet gestured with her hand. "Of course, follow me." She guided him to the phone that was similar to the one in Viridian. Brooklyn sat down, picking up the phone to talk.

The phone rang and then the computer screen lit up; revealing the older man who turned around in surprise. "Oh, Brooklyn! Where are you?"

"I'm at the Cerulean Gym, just won the badge here!" Brooklyn replied with a grin, showing his badges to the Professor. The professor looked approved at them.

"Well, for a gargoyle you're showing a lot of progress." Oak stated until Brooklyn remembered his incident earlier. "Yeah. But uh… Oak, where is my Sandshrew? I caught a Sandshrew earlier and then the Pokeball holding him disappeared." Brooklyn questioned, his ears low.

Oak couldn't help but laugh. "Oh, that's every new trainer's mishap. But one of the rules is that I forgot to mention was that you can only carry 6 Pokemon at a time here. And you can trade out Pokemon to me to exchange for another."

That interested Brooklyn who took note of it. "Good to know, thanks Professor. Which gym is next?"

"That would be the Vermilion Gym in Vermilion City, another quite a ways of walking but in your case gliding. Be warned when I tell you that the leader there is rather tough." Oak warned.

The red male nodded. "I won't let some tough gym leader beat me. Well I'd better get going if I don't want to waste time." Oak smiled again. "Then I shall see you later, goodbye. Your Sandshrew is safe."

Brooklyn chuckled when seeing the Sandshrew appear on the screen before it went black, hanging up the phone. He said one more goodbye to the sisters of the Cerulean Gym before going on his way for more Pokemon Adventures!

Brooklyn's next gym leader is Surge from Vermilion City with his Raichu which should be interesting.
