Chapter 74
Hey friends! Here's the next one for ya! Hope you enjoy :) I posted a few one-shots too!
As soon as they returned to Storybrooke, Hanna, Snow, and David went straight to Granny's to get Neal. They were all sitting in the diner enjoying some breakfast and taking turns holding the baby when they heard a loud noise and everything started to shake. They gave the baby back to Granny and ran outside to find a giant object flying over the town. They ran after it towards the forest. Everyone must have heard the noise and felt the shakes, because more people met them at the edge of the forest.
"What the hell is that?" David asked.
"It's a dirigible," Dr Jekyll told him "It's from the Land of Untold Stories."
"What's it doing in our town?" Snow asked.
A man stepped out from behind the tree. "I believe you mean my town."
"This is not your town," Snow told him.
"Oh tell that to the Dark One. He gave it to me. Now, if you'll excuse me, I must prepare for my friends' arrival," he said before turning and walking away.
"Regina?" Emma whispered.
Regina sighed. "Emma, my evil half is gone. I don't know how strong I am."
"Evil did not make you strong," Emma told her.
Hanna walked up beside her sister. "I can help."
Emma nodded. "Let's do this. Hey! Muttonchops!"
As soon as he turned around, Hanna followed her sister and Regina's lead and blasted as much magic as she could towards him. He bent over and cried out in pain. Hanna grinned. It was working. Then all of a sudden he stood up. He began to laugh and easily dodged their magic.
"A word of advice…do be careful. Nothing more dangerous than an untold story and the people who don't want them told," he said.
They all jumped when the dirigible got louder. They looked up and watched as it landed in the woods. When they turned back, the man was gone.
Hanna learned this man was Mr. Hyde. Her parents narrowly escaped him in the other realm. That realm was called the Land of Untold Stories. People traveled there to pause their life, so their stories wouldn't continue. Now, Hyde brought them all here so their stories would have no choice but to play themselves out, and the people would have to face the things from which they ran.
They all went into the forest to see if they could find the people Hyde brought and help them. They were gone though, hiding somewhere deeper in the forest. Dr. Jekyll told them he could make a weapon that could stop Hyde using the wreckage from the dirigible. They all began salvaging what they could.
Hanna wasn't even sure what she was suppose to be looking for, but she continued to look through the mess, hoping something would stand out to her. She looked over and saw her sister walk through the trees. Emma's hand was shaking. Hanna watched her grab ahold of it, trying to make it stop.
"Are you okay?"
Emma jumped at the sound of her sister's voice. "I'm fine, Hanna."
"No you're not." Hanna nodded towards Emma's shaking hand.
"It's nothing. Just keep looking for stuff." Emma quickly walked away.
Hanna sighed.
"Find anything?"
Hanna looked over to see Henry. She turned away from him and began digging through a pile. She was glad that he got everyone back from the other realm, but she was still mad at him.
"Hanna, come on…"
Hanna just walked away and went to find her parents.
Dr. Jekyll was able to find what he needed to make the weapon. He quickly put it together and they came up with a plan…they were going to use Dr. Jekyll as bait. He knew Hyde would want to get his hands on him. With a little taunting, Jekyll was certain Hyde would face them. Emma would have the weapon ready to use on Hyde once he showed himself.
They all went to Town Hall, where they knew they would find Mr. Hyde. Regina called out to him, threatening to kill Jekyll herself if he didn't come out. Only a few seconds past before Hyde came bursting out the front door. Regina kept him talking while Emma got the weapon ready. Regina made a fireball in her hand. That was the signal. As soon as she threw it at him, Emma was suppose to blast him with the weapon. Regina threw the fireball at him, but the blast didn't follow.
Hanna looked down at her sister and saw her hand shaking again. "You can do this. Just relax."
"I'm trying…" Emma held onto the weapon with both hands, attempting to steady it.
"Emma!" Regina called out.
Hanna watch Hyde grab Regina by the throat. Emma needed to get that weapon working…now! Hanna put her hand onto Emma's shoulder. "Emma, hurry!"
Emma was able to steady herself enough to blast the weapon towards Hyde. He went flying backwards and landed on Regina's car. Hanna watched her dad and Jekyll run towards him and place a pair of handcuffs onto him. They were specially made so he couldn't escape.
Emma walked over to Regina. "Are you okay?"
Regina nodded. "Is something wrong? Why did you hesitate?"
"Nothing's wrong. I'm fine."
Hanna looked up at her sister. "But Emma…"
"I said I was fine." Emma raised her eyebrows at her sister.
"Are you really fine, Savior?" Hyde asked.
"Shut up," Emma told him. "Your our prisoner now."
"Ignore him, Emma," Regina said.
"Yes, ignore me…just like your tremors," Hyde said.
Emma's eyes went wide. She ran after him "Wait. Wait! What do you know?"
"More than you. If you wish to learn what's happening to you, you know where to find me," Hyde said just as David and Killian led him away.
"Emma, what are these tremors he's talking about?" Snow asked.
"Nothing, Mom. I…I'm gonna go look through the wreckage some more…see if I can figure out where Hyde's people went."
"Okay. Hanna and I will come with you," Snow said.
"No. Just…don't follow me."
Hanna sighed. "Emma…"
"I'll be back in a little bit." Emma waved her hand and disappeared.
Snow turned to her youngest daughter. "Have you seen the tremors?"
Hanna looked up at her mom, not sure what to say. Should she lie and cover for Emma or just tell the truth?
"Hanna…"
Hanna took note of the stern look her mom was giving her. Trying to help Emma lie never seemed to work, so Hanna decided to be honest. "Her hand shaking in the woods earlier, and then just now before she got the weapon to work."
Snow nodded and pulled her phone out of her pocket.
"Who are you calling?"
"Archie. If she won't talk to us, then maybe she'll talk to him."
"Emma is not going to like that."
That didn't stop Snow from calling him anyway. Her daughter needed to talk to someone about these tremors.
Hanna found herself trudging through the forest with her parents looking for people from the Land of Untold Stories. She hadn't seen Emma in hours. She sent her a text, but Emma didn't answer. Hanna really wanted to go find her. She knew Emma was with Killian somewhere in these woods also looking for people. Hanna decided she was going to just poof to her. She raised her hand to send herself away, but quickly put it back down. She realized she should probably ask her parents. If she just disappeared, they would probably think something bad happened.
"Can I go look with Emma and Killian?"
"Hanna, they're all the way on the other side of the forest. Just stay with us," David said.
"But I can just use my magic and send myself to them."
David shook his head. "You don't know where they are."
"It doesn't matter. I don't have to know where Emma is to find her."
"Ah, right," Snow said. "You have that twin power thing of yours."
Hanna shrugged. "Yeah I guess…I don't know. Can I go?"
Snow looked over at David.
Hanna could tell by the look on his face that he was going to say no. "Dad please!" Hanna gave him the saddest eyes she could. "I haven't seen Emma in hours. I just want to make sure she's okay."
"Alright, you can go," David said. "But text me once you find her. If you don't find her, go to Granny's, and we'll meet you back there."
"Okay. Thanks, Dad!" Hanna quickly waved her hand and sent herself to her sister.
Emma jumped at the sudden appearance. "Damn it, Hanna. What the hell are you doing here?"
"I wanted to come look with you."
"You're suppose to be looking with Mom and Dad!"
"I was, but now I'm gonna to look with you."
"Hanna…"
"It's fine, love," Killian said. "We could use the extra help."
Hanna grinned up at her sister.
Before Emma could say anything, her phone rang. "It's Dad."
Hanna rolled her eyes. She's been here thirty seconds, and he was already calling to check up on her.
"Hey Dad," Emma said into the phone. "Yeah she's here…we're in the North side of the woods…okay we'll meet you there…yes I know it's getting dark…okay bye."
"Should we keep looking?" Hanna asked.
"No, Dad said they found Hyde's people. They're sending them to Granny's for food and shelter."
"Wonderful. I could use some food and shelter right about now," Killian said.
"Okay let's…" Emma started to say before her eyes went wide.
Hanna looked down and saw that Emma's hand was shaking again.
"You two go ahead," Emma said. "I…I'm gonna stay."
"Stay?" Killian asked. "It's pitch black, and it's freezing."
"I just need to be alone," she told him.
"Emma. Your hand…" Hanna said.
Emma quickly grabbed ahold of it.
"What the hell is going on with you?" Killian asked.
"Nothing. It's fine," Emma insisted. "Just go. Both of you."
"No Emma. I…"
"Hanna, let's give her some space," Killian said.
Hanna sighed.
"Han, please. I'll meet you at Granny's in a little bit."
"Fine." Hanna went with Killian towards town. After a few minutes, she stopped and looked towards him. "Give me your hand."
Killian raised an eyebrow at her. "Why?"
"I don't feel like walking all the to Granny's, do you?"
"Not particularly." Killian reached out his hand to her, but quickly stopped. "Are you sure you know what you're doing?"
"Yes. Give me your hand or I'm just going to go by myself and you can walk back alone."
Killian smirked. "Alright. You best get me there in one piece."
Snow and David arrived shortly after Hanna and Hook. They told Hyde's people where to find Granny's and hoped they would be coming soon. And they did. First, just a few, but then more and more people showed up. Hanna helped Granny pass out supplies and every time the front door opened, she looked up, hoping to see her sister. Hanna's stomach was in knots. She didn't know for sure where Emma was or what she was doing. Hanna didn't know if she was safe and that was driving her crazy.
After about an hour, the front door open again and Hanna finally saw Emma come through. She let out a sigh of relief and watched as Emma sat down at the bar next to Killian. Hanna felt better now that she was here and would leave her alone to talk to her pirate. She went back to work, giving out supplies.
"Need some help?"
Hanna looked over and smiled when she saw Emma. "Yeah."
Emma picked up a blanket and handed it to the next person.
"Are you okay?" Hanna asked.
"I'm fine."
"Are you sure, Em? What about the tremors?"
"I talked with Archie. It's just stress."
Hanna furrowed her eyebrows. "You actually talked to him?"
"Mhmm."
"But what about what Hyde said before Dad and Killian took him away? He knew you were the savior and knew about the tremors."
Emma sighed. Her sister was too observant. "Hanna, I think most people know I'm the savior, and he probably saw my hand shaking a little. He's was just trying to intimidate me."
"Okay." Hanna still wasn't sure if she believed her, but decided to let it go for now.
Once they got all of the supplies handed out, they ordered their own food and decided to take it back to the loft to eat.
Emma turned to Henry once they all finished their food. "Go upstairs and pack up the rest of your stuff, then we'll head home."
Hanna looked up at her. "What?"
"We're going home, Han. It's late," Emma said.
"Oh…okay." For some reason Hanna thought Emma would just move back in here…that the new house she got when she was the Dark One would be temporary, but Hanna should have known better. Of course Emma would want to have her own place. The loft was small and she had Killian now. Hanna picked up her to-go container and went into the kitchen to throw it away. She looked towards the stairs. She didn't even think about the fact that Henry wouldn't be staying here anymore either. She stuffed her container into the trash can and headed upstairs.
"So you're leaving?" Hanna walked into the room and sat down on her bed.
Henry raised his eyebrows at her. "So you're talking to me now?"
Hanna sighed. He tried to talk to her a few times at Granny's and once more during dinner, but she just ignored him. "Yeah I guess so…I just…I don't want you to leave."
"I know you don't." Henry knew Hanna didn't like being alone. "You'll still see me at school and it's not like I'll be far away. I'm sure I'll be over here a lot. We'll still see each other all the time."
"But it won't be the same."
"I know," Henry sighed and put a few things into his box. He looked back up at her. "So you're not still mad at me?"
Hanna thought about it. She was sad that he was leaving, but she was definitely still mad. "Henry, you created a whole operation without me."
"I didn't have time to tell you. I had to act fast."
"You had time to bring that girl with you…"
"You know her name, Hanna." Henry stood up from the floor and threw some more of his stuff into the box.
Hanna noticed the expression on Henry's face change. She could tell by the way he slammed his stuff down, she made him mad, but she was the only one who got to be mad right now. "You know I don't really care what her name is. You brought her with you instead of me! How could you do that?"
"You have no room to talk! You kept all kinds of secrets from me when Emma was the Dark One!"
Hanna stood up and walked towards him. "That's different. You know I was just trying to keep you safe."
"Stealing Violet's horse was keeping me safe?"
"I didn't know it was her horse!"
"It doesn't matter. You lied about so many other things! It's not like you would have helped me even if I did tell you."
"You don't know that."
"You're just getting good at your magic, Hanna. Why would you help me destroy it?"
"Well I…"
"See you wouldn't have! You would have ran off to your mom and dad and told them everything!"
"You know what? You're right! I would have told them. And you know why, Henry?"
Henry crossed his arms. "Why?"
"Because that plan was stupid! You really think destroying magic was going to save anybody from anything? All you did was make everything worse! My parents almost got trapped in another realm because of you!"
"I didn't send them there! Magic did!"
"But we needed magic to get them back!"
"And who was the one who figured out how to get magic back?"
Hanna knew he had her there. "You know what, here…" Hanna waved her hand putting the rest of Henry's things into the box. "Take all your crap and get out of my room!"
"Gladly!"
Hanna watched Henry pick up the rest of his things and leave. With a wave of her hand, she slammed the door behind him. Hanna kicked some of her clothes that were on the floor and threw herself onto her bed.
A few minutes later, Hanna heard the door open again. She sat up and saw her mom walking into the room.
"What's going on in here?"
Hanna shrugged. "Nothing. I just helped Henry pack."
"We all heard you two shouting." Snow sat down on the bed beside her daughter. "Henry looked pretty angry when he came downstairs."
"Good," Hanna mumbled.
"Hanna…"
"What?"
"I know you're upset that he and your sister leaving, sweetie, but…"
"I don't care that they're leaving."
Snow raised her eyebrows at her. "Why all the shouting then?"
"Because he's irritating."
Snow sighed. "And why is he irritating, Hanna?"
"He just went off to New York without me. He took Violet. He destroyed magic and because of him, you and dad were almost stuck in that other land. He wouldn't even stop and listen to me when I tried explaining that we needed magic to get you back."
"Okay, but who was it that got everyone back?"
Hanna rolled her eyes. "I don't see why that's relevant."
Snow put her arm around her daughter. "You know Henry forgave you pretty easily when you were hiding stuff about Emma, maybe you should do the same."
"Maybe I don't want to."
"Well that's your decision," Snow reached over and kissed the top of Hanna's head. "I know you'll do the right thing, though."
"I already am."
Snow sighed. "How about you get ready for bed. It's late and you've had a long couple days."
"Okay." Hanna watched her mom leave the room and did what she asked.
Hanna tried to go to sleep, but she'd been laying in her bed for hours without any luck. As much as she didn't want to admit it, she couldn't sleep because she missed Emma and Henry. Hanna didn't even know why though. She slept just fine before. Emma didn't stay here at all while she was the Dark One and, during that time, Henry stayed at Regina's. Hanna couldn't figure out why it was bothering her so much now. Probably because she was pretty busy with all of Emma's Dark One secrets, and she assumed the housing arrangements were all temporary. This wasn't though. They were both gone. For good.
Hanna sighed. She sat up, turned on her lamp, and looked across the room. It was so empty. Everything of Henry's was gone. Hanna decided that she wasn't staying up here. She picked up her pillow and blanket and made her way towards the stairs. She walked down them quietly, careful not to wake anyone. She got to the bottom and peered around towards her parents' room. They seemed to be asleep. She saw that Neal was sound asleep in is bassinet. Hanna tiptoed over to the couch. She set her pillow on one end and laid down. She pulled a bigger blanket off the back of the couch and covered herself up with it. She snuggled her baby blanket close and within a few minutes, she drifted off to sleep.
David woke up and looked over at the clock, which read 5:30 as usual. Even with all the time jumps and being in different realms, his body still woke him up at the same time everyday. He got out of bed, careful not to wake Snow, and made his way out of the room. He glanced down at his little prince, who was still fast asleep. Although, Neal would probably be the next one to wake. David started to head towards the kitchen to make a cup of coffee when he noticed Hanna sleeping on the couch.
David walked over and saw she brought her blanket down with her, and it had fallen onto the floor. David smiled and picked it up. He slowly covered her up with it, trying not to wake her, but as soon as he let go of it, her eyes popped open. He watched her jump at the sight of him.
"Hey, it's just me," David said as he knelt down beside the couch.
Hanna sighed. "I know." For a split second, she thought he was James again. She wasn't about to tell her dad that though or that she just dreamt about being in the Underworld again.
David brushed the hair from Hanna's face. "What are you doing down here?"
Hanna shrugged. "Couldn't sleep."
"I'm sorry I woke you." He reached over and gave her a kiss on her forehead. "Why don't you try to get some more sleep. It's still early." David stood and went to go make that coffee.
Hanna quickly sat up just as her dad was about to walk away. "Will you stay with me?"
David turned and smiled. "Of course I will."
Hanna grabbed her pillow and scooted herself over to give him some room. When he sat down, she placed her pillow on his lap and laid back down.
David covered Hanna back up with the blanket and within a few minutes his little girl was back to sleep.
About an hour and a half later, David heard Neal's cries coming from across the room. He looked down at Hanna, trying to figure out the best way to move her without waking her again. Neal's cries stopped, and David looked up and saw that Snow already had him in her arms.
Snow noticed David and Hanna on the couch and walked over to them. "I didn't even hear her come down last night," Snow whispered.
"Neither did I," David whispered back. "I found her here when I woke up."
Snow sat down in the chair next to the couch. "I know she's pretty upset about Henry and Emma moving out."
"Is that what those two were fighting about last night?"
Snow sighed. "No, according to Hanna, she doesn't care that they're gone."
"Ahh." David knew that wasn't true. "So what was all the yelling about?"
"She's still mad at Henry for taking Violet to New York and not her."
David shook his head. "She's lucky he didn't. If she would have gone with him after everything she's already done lately I…"
"Trust me I know." The trip to the Underworld didn't make Snow and David forget about all the stunts Hanna pulled when they returned from Camelot.
"Do you think we dropped her punishment too easily?"
"She did go through a lot in the Underworld…I think she learned her lesson. She could have lied to me about Emma yesterday, but she didn't."
"That's good."
"One toe out of line though and…"
"We can finally lock her in that dungeon?"
"No," Snow grinned. "We do need to figure out what we're going to do about this though." Snow nodded towards the couch. "She can't keep sleeping down here."
"What we really need is a bigger house. Maybe one where all the bedrooms are on the same floor."
"I tried to tell talk you into a bigger place a few years ago."
"Yes, well, if I recall we were a tad busy fighting off bad guys and spending time in other realms."
"That's true."
"Maybe we could start looking for something?"
Snow nodded. "I'd like that. We'll try to come up with a solution for Hanna in the meantime." Snow looked down as Neal started to fuss. She gently bounced the baby in her arms. "I'm sorry buddy, I know you're hungry. How about we get you some breakfast, then you can help Momma make your daddy and sissy some breakfast too." Snow stood up from the chair and turned to her husband. "Do you want me to help you move her, so you can get up?"
David shook his head. "I'm okay. Besides as soon as you start cooking breakfast, we both now she'll wake right up."
