Chapter 78

Hi everyone! I had a guest ask about Hanna's boyfriend Logan from my Missing Moments stories. I do plan on having him show up in this main story, but not for awhile. I wasn't going to mention this yet, but I am planning on taking this story past season 6 and through Hanna's high school years leading up to the season 7 finale. I have a lot of ideas and I'm really hoping I can pull it off. I've always had a storyline to follow, so I'm a little nervous about having to create most of it on my own. I have a plan in place though and I'm going to make myself see it through to the end! So, yes, Logan will make is appearance at some point during that time in the story. I'm just not 100% sure when yet. Anyways, here's a more lighthearted chapter for you all! I wanted to squeeze one in before more angsty stuff happens…cuz we all know what's coming lol Hope you enjoy! :)

Hanna was sound asleep when she felt someone jump onto her bed. "What?" Hanna groaned. She sat up and saw her sister smiling at her.

"Come on get up!"

"What are you doing?" Hanna laid back down and threw the covers over her head.

"You're gonna hang out with me today." Emma pulled the blankets away from Hanna's face.

Hanna just furrowed her eyebrows at her sister. "Maybe I don't want to hang out with you." She couldn't help but feel a little excited though.

"Please?"

Hanna sighed.

"Look, I'm sorry I haven't been around much lately, but I want to make up for it."

"Fine…" Hanna sat back up again.

"Good. Get dressed and meet me downstairs."

Hanna came downstairs a few minutes later.

"Ready?" Emma asked.

"Yeah."

"Here girls," Snow held out the brown paper bags to them. "I packed you each a lunch." She knew how her daughter's liked to eat, and she wanted them to at least have one meal that was nutritious today.

"Thanks, Mom." Emma took the food and walked towards the door.

"Hanna, don't forget your coat."

Hanna rolled her eyes, but grabbed her coat from the hook. "Bye, Mom."

Hanna climbed into the passenger seat of Emma's bug.

"Want to stop for donuts?"

"Sure."

The girls stopped at the bakery, got half a dozen donuts, then headed to the station.

"There are my girls," David said with a smile. "Oh donuts. Did you bring me one?"

Hanna grinned and held out the box.

"Don't even think about touching the bear claw," Emma told him.

"I wouldn't dare." David gave Hanna a wink, then helped himself to a glazed donut.

Hanna took her chocolate frosted one and sat down in one of the chairs. "So what are we doing today?"

Emma picked up her bear claw and sat down on the edge of the desk. "I have a few ideas."

"You, my darling daughter, also have a mountain of paperwork on your desk," David said.

"I'll get to it…"

"You didn't bring me here just to file for you, did you?" Hanna asked.

"No…but I wouldn't be mad if you helped me with it a little."

Hanna raised her eyebrows at her sister. "Are we just staying here all day?"

"No." Emma hopped down from the desk and pulled something from one of the cabinets. "I just needed to get the squad car and this." She held up a radar gun.

"What are we doing with that?"

"There's been complaints about someone speeding near the north trail entrance. I need to figure out who it is. Want to help?"

"I guess…"

"Let's go!"

Hanna followed her sister.

"Call me if you need back up," David said.

Emma nodded. "We will."

"Bye, Dad."

"Come here for a second."

Hanna walked over to her dad and looked up at him.

David put his hands on her shoulder. "Try to have some fun today, okay?"

Hanna nodded.

David pulled her into his arms. "I love you. Be careful."

Hanna wrapped her arms around him. "I love you too."

"Come on, Han. Grab the rest of the donuts too."

Hanna picked up the box of donuts and followed her sister out the door.

"Do you want to stop by Granny's for hot chocolate, first?"

"I don't care."

"I'll take that as a yes, then." Emma started the car and drove to the diner.

Hanna waited in the car while Emma went to get their drinks. She came back a few minutes later, got back into the car, and held out a hot chocolate to Hanna.

Hanna took the drink without saying anything.

"Come on, I'm really trying here," Emma said.

Hanna looked over at her sister. She knew Emma was trying to make up for not being around lately, but that didn't mean Hanna wasn't still mad at her. Hanna was also really happy to have a whole day just with Emma though. Maybe she should do what her dad said and try to have some fun. Hanna smiled at Emma. "I know you are. Thanks for the hot chocolate."

Emma smiled. "You're welcome. Now, ready to go catch the bad guy?"

Hanna nodded. "Yeah let's go."

Emma parked the squad car on a side road and set up the radar gun.

"So we just wait?" Hanna asked.

"Yup."

"Doesn't it get boring?"

Emma shrugged. "Sometimes. It helps to have snacks though." She reached over and took a donut from the box."

"And hot chocolate?"

"You gotta have hot chocolate. Having someone wait with you makes it better too."

Hanna smiled.

The girls waited and waited, but nobody had even driven by at the normal speed since they got here. Hanna filled Emma in on everything that was going on in her life lately. She told her all about fixing the wine glass at Regina's and the incident with the boy at school. Emma told her some stuff too, but Hanna knew she was leaving certain things out on purpose.

When they ran out of things to talk about, Hanna looked over at her sister, not sure if she should bring this up right now. She was finally starting to enjoy herself, but this conversation needed to happen. "So…why have you been avoiding me?"

"Avoiding you? What do you mean?"

"You barely answer my texts and when you do it's hours later. You haven't been around much and…"

"Han, I just have…a lot going on."

"I just don't like not knowing where you are."

"Why?"

"Because when I'm not with you it makes me feel uneasy. I don't like it. I worry about you."

Emma sighed. "We can't be together all the time, and you can't worry about me every time you're away from me."

"I know…I have been doing better though. I've been pretty mad at you lately, so I've been worrying less."

"Well I guess that's something," Emma said with a laugh.

"Mom said you're still seeing Archie."

"Yeah for now…"

"What do you mean?"

"I'm getting tired of talking. I've spent hours there, and it's not helping with the…"

"With what?"

"The tremors…"

"Emma, I know there's more to this than just the tremors."

"No there's not."

"Yes there is."

"Hanna…"

"I know you're lying! Your hand isn't shaking because of stress!"

"What? You don't think I have enough stress in my life to cause a few tremors?"

"Maybe…but I know there's more!"

"You're wrong, so just drop it!"

"You're hiding something!"

"Hanna, stop!"

Hanna sighed. She really didn't want to ruin this day. Maybe she was wrong about all of this, and she was causing a fight for no reason. She reached out and held onto Emma's hand. "Please. If there's something else, you can tell me."

Emma looked at her sister.

Hanna could tell by her face that she was right. "Maybe you'll feel better if someone else knows."

"Fine…" Emma sighed. "I went to visit Hyde right after we locked him up. I knew he knew something. He led me to an Oracle. She showed me a vision and in it I…"

"What?"

"I die…Hyde said I'm not the only savior. According to him, wherever there's a savior, there's a villain that brings them down. That's how the Savior's story always goes."

Hanna tried to wrap her brain around everything Emma just said. There were other Saviors, and they always die in the end. Emma was a savior and she keeps having a vision about herself being killed. "So in the vision, who…who kills you?"

"I don't know…it's just some figure under a hood. You're all there with me. I'm trying to protect you, but whoever it is, kills me."

"You don't know who it is?"

"I don't know for sure…"

"You have an idea though, don't you?"

"Well, Regina isn't there so maybe…"

Hanna shook her head. "She wouldn't do that."

"I know…I know. I just…I'll figure out who it is and I'll fix this."

"Emma let us help you. We need to tell Mom and Dad. They…"

"Hanna, no. You have to promise me you won't tell anyone."

Hanna sighed. "I don't want to keep anymore secrets."

Emma covered her face with her hands. "I shouldn't have said anything."

"No Emma, it's okay." Hanna pulled Emma's hands down. "I'm glad you told me."

"Just give me a little bit more time, okay? I'll tell everyone soon."

Hanna nodded. "Alright."

Emma gave Hanna a small smile. "Thanks."

"So, that's why you've been avoiding me, then?"

"I told you I wasn't avoiding you."

Hanna just raised her eyebrows at her sister.

"Fine…I was."

"Why? You're keeping this secret from everyone, not just me, but you've been around everybody else."

"You know me too well. I knew if I was around you too long you'd see that the tremors were more than just stress."

"Emma, I knew that from the second I saw your hand shaking."

"See…I knew it wouldn't be long before you convinced me to tell you my secret too."

Hanna grinned. She was glad that Emma was actually avoiding her and not just too busy. She was glad Emma told her what was really happening too, but she really didn't like that she was going to have to keep another secret for her. "Emma are you sure we can't…"

Before Hanna could finish, a red car zoomed past them.

"Woah! There's our guy." Emma turned on her lights and followed the car. "What did the radar say?"

"82," Hanna said.

"Geez…on this road?"

Emma finally caught up to the car and whoever was inside slowed down and pulled over to the side of the road. Emma opened her door to get out of the car. "Stay here."

"Aww come on. Can't I come?"

"Fine."

Hanna smiled and hopped out of the car. She followed her sister to the driver's side window of the other car.

The person rolled down the window and the girls were shocked to see who was behind the wheel.

"Bashful?" Emma asked.

"Oh…hi Emma."

Hanna could see that his face was starting to turn red.

"What are you doing driving so fast?"

"Well, I just got this new car and it's amazing…it can really go."

"Yeah, well, the speed limit is 45 on this road, so let's keep it that way."

Bashful nodded.

Emma gave him his ticket and he drove off at the correct speed.

"I was definitely not expecting that," Hanna said.

"Me either."

The girls got into the squad car and went back to the station.

"Did you catch the guy?" David asked.

Emma nodded. "Oh yeah we got him."

"You'll never guess who it was, Dad!"

"Who?"

"Bashful," Hanna said with a laugh.

David shrugged. "That doesn't surprise me."

Emma raised her eyebrows at him. "Really?"

"Oh yeah. He's a real thrill seeker."

The girls looked at each other and shrugged their shoulders.

"Okay, I think I'm ready for some lunch," Emma said.

Hanna nodded. "Let's go to Granny's!"

"Didn't your mother pack you both a lunch?"

The girls sighed. "Yes."

"You should probably eat that, don't you think?"

"Fine," Emma grumbled.

Hanna picked up the bags from the desk and handed one to her sister. The girls opened the bags and saw their mom packed them each a sandwich, a banana, some carrots, and a chocolate chip cookie for dessert. The girls ate everything except the carrots. They quickly shoved those back into the bag before their dad noticed.

"I should probably do a little paperwork while we're here." Emma looked over at Hanna. "Are you okay with that? You don't have to help me."

"That's okay. I'll help." Hanna followed Emma into her office and immediately regretted her offer to help. There was more than just the pile on Emma's desk. There were two chairs full of file folders that needed to be put away. "Emma seriously?"

Emma shrugged. "I've been a little busy being the Dark One and hanging out in the Underworld. The filing got away from me."

Hanna just shook her head, but got to work on putting the folders where they belonged, while Emma started on the paperwork.

"Okay, I've had enough of this," Emma said a few hours later.

"But you're almost done," Hanna told her.

"I'll finish it later. Let's get another hot chocolate."

"You don't have to tell me twice." Hanna put down the file folder and followed her sister out of her office.

"Where are you two off to now?" David asked.

"Uhh…just going on patrol again," Emma said.

"Did you get that paperwork done?"

"Uh huh…" Emma quickly pushed Hanna out the door before he realized she was lying.

"Time for your midday pick me up?" Granny asked when Emma and Hanna walked inside.

"Yup. We'll need two today," Emma told her.

"I'll have them out in a minute."

Hanna looked over at her sister. "You do this everyday?"

"Yeah. What? Are you telling me you don't get a hot chocolate everyday after school?"

"Not everyday," Hanna said.

Once the girls finished their drinks, Emma got an idea. "How about a little magic lesson?"

"Really?"

Emma nodded. "Mhmm."

"What are you going to teach me?"

"I was thinking the spell I used to find Ashley."

"Where you used her shoe?"

"Yup."

"Yeah show me!"

"Okay, how about we test it out on Dad? See if you can get it to lead us back to the station. Since you know where he is, the spell will be a little bit easier."

"What do we do first?"

"We need to get one of Dad's shoes. Think you can poof one here from the loft?"

Hanna thought about it for a second, then nodded. She was pretty sure she could do that. She saw which pair of shoes he was wearing today and knew that his brown boots would still be sitting by the front door. Hanna closed her eyes, and a few seconds later she felt something in her hand. She opened her eyes and smiled. "I did it!"

"Good. Now get it to float and take us to Dad."

Hanna raised her eyebrows at her sister. "Care to tell me how I do that?"

Emma grinned. "Okay, so the shoe knows who it belongs to. You just have to get it to go back to it's owner. Put it down on the ground first."

Hanna hopped down from the barstool and placed her dad's shoe on the floor. "Now what?"

"Focus on the shoe and think about Dad. Concentrate on going to where he is. Like I said, it'll be a little bit easier since you already know."

Hanna nodded and looked at the shoe. She did what Emma said, and the shoe began to float.

The girls followed the shoe down the sidewalk. They made it a few blocks before the shoe fell back to the ground.

Hanna looked up at Emma.

"Just try again. Do the same thing you did before."

"Okay." Hanna turned back to the shoe and focused on the task at hand…getting to her dad.

The shoe began to float again and only fell one more time before successfully making it to the Sheriff's Station.

David looked up from his desk and saw a shoe floating towards him. "What the…" Then he saw the girls walking in right behind it.

"I did it!" Hanna said.

"Did what?" David asked.

"I found you with your shoe!" Hanna smiled up at her dad.

"We had a little magic lesson," Emma told him.

"Ahh okay. Good job, princess."

"Thanks." Hanna waved her hand and put her dad's shoe back. "Thanks for teaching me, Em."

"Anytime."

"So how was your hot chocolate?" David asked.

"Good!" Hanna said.

Emma gave her a nudge…they told him they went on patrol.

"I mean…did you say patrol? The patrol was good. We didn't see anything suspicious."

"Uh huh, right…" David grinned. "You know what is suspicious though?"

The girls looked at each other, then back to their dad. "What?"

"The pile of paperwork still in Emma's office…the paperwork you said was done."

"I think we said it was almost done…right, Han?"

Hanna nodded. "Yeah that's what we said."

"How about you go back in there and get it all the way done then?"

The girls did what their dad asked and went back into Emma's office. Hanna put the last of the files away and Emma finished the rest of her paperwork.

The girls stopped at Granny's on the way home for dinner, then went by the ice cream shop on their way back to the loft and bought ice cream for everyone.

Emma put the bags of ice cream onto the counter. "Alright we've got all kinds of options." She began pulling the pints onto the counter. "Rocky Road, cherry vanilla, plain vanilla, cookie dough, and mint chocolate chip."

"Did you buy out the whole ice cream shop, love?" Killian asked.

Emma grinned. "Not quite."

"We also bought some toppings." Hanna placed her bag onto the counter.

"What did you get?" Henry asked.

Hanna set the stuff on the counter. "Sprinkles, chocolate sauce, caramel, whipped cream, and cherries."

"You girls did eat a proper dinner first, right?" Snow asked.

"Of course we did," Emma lied. She wasn't so sure grilled cheese and onion rings counted as a proper dinner though.

"Uh huh…sure." Snow said. She opened the drawer and pulled out the ice cream scoop and spoons for everyone.

David set bowls on the counter. "Alright, let the ice cream sundae party commence."

Hanna and Henry were quick to get to their bowls first.

"I want a little bit of everything." Henry said as he began scooping each of the flavors into his bowl.

"I want Rocky Road and Mint." Hanna scooped two very large portions of each flavor into her bowl.

Then the kids turned to the toppings and quickly put on as much as they wanted while the adults were distracted scooping their own ice cream. Once everyone had their sundaes, they all sat at the table.

"Wait, so Bashful was the one speeding through town?" Henry asked.

Hanna nodded. "Surprising, right?"

"Yeah we were not expecting that," Emma said.

David looked to Snow. "Does that surprise you?"

Snow grinned. "Not in the slightest."

Emma turned to Hanna. "Tell Mom what I taught you today."

"I used Dad's shoe to find him."

"You know, I could have sworn one of his shoes was missing earlier…but I thought I was going crazy because the next time I looked it was back."

"Yeah that was us," Hanna grinned. "I was able to get it to find Dad pretty easily."

"Good job, baby." Snow gave Hanna a wink.

"Thanks."

"Can we watch a movie?" Henry asked once everyone finished their ice cream.

Emma looked at the clock. "Yeah we have time for a movie. What do you want to watch?"

Henry looked over at Hanna. They knew exactly which movie they were going to pick.

Hanna turned to Killian. "You're going to like this one. It's named after you."

"It's called Hook," Henry told him.

"There's another version of me?" he asked.

"There's a lot of versions of you," Emma told him.

"Am I at least better looking in this one?" Killian remembered what he looked like in that awful Peter Pan movie.

Hanna and Henry just looked at each other and started laughing.

"Ahh bloody hell…have they given me another mustache?"

Emma put her arm around him. "Yeah, sorry. I'm afraid you're the only version of you that's handsome."

Killian grinned. "So you think I'm handsome?"

Emma smiled.

Hanna saw they way they were looking at each other… "Okay you two, go turn on the tv while we get the movie."

"I'm going to get this little man to sleep, then I'll join you." Snow picked Neal up from his highchair and took him into the bedroom.

David cleaned up the ice cream. Then everyone found a comfortable spot in the living room to watch the movie.

"Well, that wasn't as bad as that other movie," Killian said once the credits started rolling. "But I get to pick the next one."

"Do you even know any movies?" Hanna asked.

"Well…no, but I'll figure it out. I'm very resourceful."

"I'll let you look through my collection. I have some good ones," Emma told him. "Why don't you and Henry head home. I'll be there in a little while."

"Alright love."

Killian and Henry said their goodbyes. David went to get a shower, and Snow was checking on the baby, who just started to fuss.

Emma turned to Hanna. "Remember, you can't tell anyone what I told you today."

Hanna sighed. "Why not?"

"I don't want to worry anyone. I need to see if I can figure this out on my own first."

"But you've known about the vision for awhile now and…"

"Please, Han?"

"Emma…"

"Look, if I can't figure something out in a few days, we can tell everyone, okay?"

"You promise?"

"Yes."

"Okay fine." Hanna didn't like it, but she would do what her sister wanted. "Thanks for today. I had a lot of fun."

Emma smiled. "I'm glad. I'm really sorry for avoiding you…I shouldn't have done that."

"I understand why you did." Hanna reached out and wrapped her arms around her sister.

Emma returned the hug.

Hanna held onto her sister and couldn't help but think about the vision. What if that hooded figure really did kill Emma? What if they couldn't stop it in time? Hanna could feel the tears starting to form in her eyes.

"Hey, you two. It's getting late."

Hanna jumped back at the sound of her mom's voice. She quickly wiped her tears away. Thankfully her back was facing her, so her mom didn't notice.

"Sorry, Mom. I'm leaving," Emma said.

"It's okay, sweetie," Snow said as she bounced Neal in her arms. "Thank you for the ice cream. We really enjoyed tonight."

"Me too."

"Hanna, I'm going to get your brother back to sleep. Why don't you go take your shower and I'll be up in a little bit to tuck you in."

"Okay."

Snow went back into the bedroom and Hanna looked up at Emma. "Thanks again."

Emma nodded. "Are you okay?"

"I'm fine."

"I promise I'll figure this out, okay?"

Hanna could feel the tears coming back. "But Emma…"

"Oh good you're still here. I had this work thing that…" David noticed the looks on his daughter's faces. "Are you two okay?"

Hanna nodded and forced her tears to go away.

Emma quickly plastered a smile onto her face. "Yeah Dad. We're good."

"Just saying goodbye," Hanna said.

"Okay, well, why don't you head upstairs and get ready for bed. It's getting late."

"Alright." Hanna hugged Emma one last time.

Emma pulled her close and leaned her mouth close to her ear. "Are you sure you can do this?"

Hanna nodded.

Emma gave her a squeeze. "Night, Han. I love you."

"Love you too." Hanna stepped back. "Thanks again for today."

"Anytime you want to come do my filing you let me know."

Hanna rolled her eyes. "Yeah okay…"

David laughed. "Go on up, your mom and I will be up in a little bit."

Hanna started walking up the stairs and could feel the tears start to fall down her cheeks. She quickly went into her room and grabbed her pajamas, then went across the hall into her bathroom and turned on the shower. She sat down on the floor, pulled her knees close, and rested her forehead on them. She was dying to know Emma's secret, but now that she knew, she wasn't sure what to do. How could she not worry about Emma's vision? A hooded figure killing her sister wasn't just something she could brush off. What if they couldn't figure out who it was. What if it really was Regina, or the Evil Queen, or someone else? Hanna didn't understand why Emma didn't want anyone else to know. Did she learn nothing from when she kept secrets as the Dark One? Hanna knew Emma was making a mistake keeping this to herself, but she made her sister a promise not to tell. Could Hanna keep her promise though? Her mom and dad already almost caught her crying. If Hanna didn't pull herself together, she was going to blow the secret. She just knew it. Hanna lifted her head and took a deep breath. She could do this. She could keep her sister's secret again. Hanna knew she just had to be strong. If Emma didn't come up with a solution in a few days though, Hanna was going to force her to tell everyone.
