We open to a cave. A cave that was darker than most, with only the scattered shining jewels to light the way. The darkness was rather thick, almost impossible to see without light. The crystals glowed some otherworldly pinkish glow as if they were specifically made to light the way for weary travelers.

Water leaks from the ceiling and footsteps splash through the puddles bellow. The sounds of rippling water and heavy boots hitting the floor echoed all across the cave. One set of footsteps was calm, collected, and determined. Progressing onwards, with little worry of the strange ambiance of this cave...

The other set was a little bit shaky and dragging some giant leather sack with them, causing a little more sound as the bag was dragged across the water and gravel.

The footsteps then hear some growls throughout the cave causing the feet of the one behind to shiver and cringe. They move quicker towards the one in front, who proceeds as normal despite the sounds that were heard.

We now see a female's slim hands grab some of the lengthier crystals and chuck them into the sack that a larger pair of hands were holding for safekeeping.

We meet Alberia, a female explorer, with her brown ponytail swaying around, she marched across the cave with her yellow eyes fixated towards the darkness of this abyss.

She does not fear what lurks deep, but why doesn't she? Her composure is kept throughout her quest throughout the cave, in spite of the looming darkness. Only because she had a singular goal in the back of her head, which drives her very soul to pursue the unknown. For the longest time, she had always dreamed of wielding a special tool known as a Magisword, and she knew one would be down here somewhere.

These Magiswords, are a special kind of weapon that can be swung like a sword but also have powers unique to every variant of a Magisword. Some can shoot vegetables, some can harness the elements, and some are based on common everyday objects. But even then, she knew a Magisword could have powers that could help her in many a situation. And after a recent unearthing of these tools' true purpose, it made her yearn for them even more...

As she grabs the crystal pieces and chucks them into the sack, she finds herself recalling a simpler time of watching warriors fight monsters on the streets, while keeping her eyes fixated on her goal. A childish nostalgia rushes through her as she can recall the screams of barbarians, the ferocious roars of the rampant beasts, and the rather silly ways they would be dealt with.

By obtaining a Magisword for herself, she can finally be like all the greats, and find nearly endless ways on taking on even the deadliest of enemies. The wave of nostalgia is rushed away when she hears the shivers and stutters of the one behind her, getting further away from earshot as she was moving much quicker than her partner.

Alberia finally looks behind her, a bit impatiently, and asks: "Mark, are you coming? We don't have all day you know." Then turns back to the abyss and keeps marching onward.

Right behind Alberia was Mark, a pal of hers. His short chubby body was barely keeping up despite the hard hat on his black curly hair keeping any rocks from hitting the ol noggin. His hands trembled, gripping the heavy sack tighter his breath shallow and shakey in the damp air.

He wasn't chickening out, by all means, for he only came here due to the concerns for his dear friend. He had known her since childhood, and she came to him one day expecting the two of them to become partners in adventuring.

He was all the willing to accept the deed, since he never went on a proper quest before. But all he'd been doing so far was carrying a bag full of these glowing crystals. They may be sold for a high price sure, but some of them looked quite in rough condition...

They look like they've been chewed on, had the light sucked out of them, drooled all over, as if monsters used to inhabit this cave. But the eerie silence, occasionally interrupted by the sounds of a unfamiliar growl, proved the fact that there was not a single sign of life down here other than the signs of looming terror that caused Mark's teeth to chatter.

"Y-You know, we've been exploring these caves for hours...there isn't a single one of those fancy t-tools you want so much, are you sure this is the right cave?" Mark asked, shivering and chattering while doubting his partner's skills at navigating this cave.

"They're called Magiswords, you doof. Special weapons that can be based around just about anything." Alberia corrects before glancing at the crystals and the rocks around her, piecing together the road ahead.

"I-Isn't that a bit of an exaggeration?" Mark wonders if there was ever a limit to Magiswords.

"Not that I'm aware of. Besides, once I obtain one for myself, I'll be on my way to adventure. Just like Cactus the One-Blade or those other warrior guys..." Alberia sighs to herself, seemingly alone in her yearning for an adventure as she turned over as many rocks as she could to find what she sought...

"You mean the W-Warriors for Hire?" Mark had been made aware of the Warriors for Hire, they were some of Lyvsheria's greatest Warriors. Despite their mixed reputation across the board, they know how to get a job done when it counts.

Alberia simply scoffs at the idea of those goofballs being her inspiration: "No, not those clowns. I mean the real deal. The warriors who don't make a spectacle out of everything. The ones that look all...y'know." She didn't know how to put it to words, but the definitely knew that whoever those two were, were more battle-hardened than even the Warriors for Hire.

"More detailed?" Mark scratches his head, confused about why she'd pick two other warriors that he hardly knows over the ones who knew how to please a client.

"Exactly...and there's my ticket to that fame now..." Alberia smirks as she approaches a bizarre trinket stabbed into a pedestal. All the while, the weird growling seems to be getting louder and more echoed as they approach a segment of the cave branching into many different pathways, implying more than one way in and out.

Mark was already begining to look frantically around for the source of this sound. Alberia hardly seems fazed by it, especially when she's currently fixated on one of the very tools that many a warrior possesses...

It had a rock for a blade, with some cuts to make it look like something bit into it, with a rocky handle made to support it, and a green gem for the top of the handle. Alberia pulled it from the pedestal with nothing but brute force and strength while Mark kept an eye open for anything to leap out unexpectedly.

Alberia holds it in the palm of her hand. The Magiswords have been known to shrink down whenever they aren't in use. But the moment Alberia gripped it tight, she watched it spring to life, as it grew to a regular size.

Boulder Magisword!

Alberia began swinging it around, just to get a feel for it. Then after feeling it's power, she went for the Magi part of this Magisword. She pointed the sword at the wall, and, simply by thinking of boulders, fired a few small rocks at the wall causing them to bounce off of the wall and land near Mark, who yiped when they landed near him.

"H-Hey, watch where you swing that thing!" Mark exclaims, shivering much harder than he did before she got the Magisword. Hopefully, Alberia could understand that she shouldn't be messing around with such a weapon, especially after Mark warned her. But instead of a apology, like he'd expect, he only sees his friend just smile at her newfound skill like she didn't just try to aim for him.

"Hmm... perfect! I can name several places that can use a rock to solve it. Like covering a cave, building a rock snowman, or something like that. This, my friend, is the start of my journey to become a true adventurer." Alberia boasted with a wide grin, thinking of all the wonderful adventures she could have with this thing.

"Uh...okay. But do you even know how to use it right?" Mark asks immediately after that experience of nearly being hit by rocks

"Of course I do. Watch." Alberia swings the blade around until it magically crafts a particularly large boulder the size of a small stagecoach. Mark takes cover behind his bag just in case...

Alberia then gives her sword a swing and chucks the boulder at one of the walls causing a big crash to happen as the wall collapses to reveal...some sort of door? The door looked metallic and sealed with a big lock with no key as if someone was trying to keep something, or some THINGS, hidden away in the depths of this particular cave...

"Umm...what's that door?" Mark asks right away.

"That's weird...this is a Level 2 Cave, there shouldn't be a boss immediately after the sword..." Alberia wonders. In all her studies of Level Caves, she knew there shouldn't be a major boss this early on. Something was wrong here. Did she stumble upon some post-quest super boss and didn't even know it?

"I'd say we should call it good here, we have a Magisword now, and we can probably find some more at the store." Mark gulps hoping his partner doesn't do what he thinks she'll do...

"Magiswords aren't just sold in stores. The more powerful and rare ones are only sold at those scummy places cause they want a quick buck, but the Magiswords in these dungeons are cost-effective; they only cost as much as you're willing to pay to find them...say, you don't think there's another Magisword behind this door, is there?" Alberia wonders.

She inspects the door and hears the growling from before. From the sounds emitting from the other side, the thing, or things, behind the door are the source of this ruckus.

"Hmm...what do you think? Should we press our luck?" Alberia insists to Mark with a bright smile.

"U-Um...how? We don't have a key! And if we don't have a key, we can't get in! And now we have to come back later!" Mark chatters nervously, obviously trying to steer her away from the door.

"Heh. Who needs a key? I've got a rock." Alberia grinned already swirling the Magisword to form another boulder.

"H-Hey! Wait! Don't do it, you-I mean, we're not ready for this!" Mark screams and tries to pull the Boulder Magisword away from her as a last resort, desperate to keep his pal away from an unknown.

She tugged on her blade hard enough to knock Mark over on the cold rocky floor as he tried to get up as fast as he could. Alberia looks back at her partner, and instead of a attempt at logical thought, she said...

"I'd suggest you get ready then..." Alberia said with that same smirk as she spreads her legs apart, facing the door with a confident stance, and with a mighty swing, it chucks the boulder the big metal door right at the lock, breaking it instantly!

"W-Whoa!" Mark gasps and hears the growls progress into snarls and barks, causing him to duck under the larger crystals, wishing he wasn't here...until he heard his partner.

"Gee, this boss door is really easy to open up. How very fitting for a cave of this level..." Alberia walks towards the door, just as overconfident as ever.

"H-Hey! Wait!" Mark rushes after her, wishing that he could stop her from opening that door...but the door slowly opens by itself...

"Huh? That's odd...the doors shouldn't open by themselves...this is a Level 2 Cave, after all..." Alberia ponders the situation as Mark stays on the ground shivering more than before...

As Alberia gazed into the darkness, something stared right back at her. A red ruby eye that gazed into her soul. While it looked alluring at first, Alberia soon realized the true nature of it's stare...the eye wasn't just a gem, it was moving around like any other eye, and the growling noises seemed to have originated from this eye...

But no, it was not just the eye...a vicious beast was the owner of this eye, and it would only become clearer as the monster slowly got closer to exiting the room it was sealed in.

Alberia can already see the rocky crusted skin and stone hard body slowly emerging, growling at the mere sight of a human. The rocky jaw emitted a fierce snarl with it's large bulky body slowly approaching the light that had been shown to it.

The surrounding growls felt like they were getting closer and louder too, like there was more than just this one in that very room...

As the monster slowly revealed itself, Alberia's bravado vanished. It wasn't just a beast—it was something far worse. Before it could make any sudden movements, Alberia's first instinct was to scream in terror and slam the door shut, while also blocking it off with the Boulder Magisword's boulder-creation abilities.

Boulders covered the entrance as the interruption caused the growling to escalate, unnerving both adventurers as Alberia slowly stepped back away from the door just as Mark was now shivering like a cold day without a coat.

"W-What was that!?" Mark asked sobbing on the floor in terror, who witnessed the whole reveal unfold before him...

"I-I don't know! You were right to worry so much, Mark! Let's scram! We got what we came for!!" Alberia screams, having lost composure due to the nature of the beast that lay within.

Alberia dashed away the fastest, with Mark tripping over a rock dropping the crystals they had gathered. "The Crystals!" He yelled before a loud roar made him turn the other way. This was no longer a quest, this was a test of survival!

The two rushed off as fast as possible, back through the puddles and the crystals. Marks screams and cries echoed through the cave, wanting to get out and never speak of it again.

Alberia's sprint was much more athletic and tense, she had never accounted for such a beast to exist, and yet she was way over her head about it all! But there was no time to panic too hard for her, she had to make sure they couldn't easily escape.

She waved the Boulder Magisword recklessly and spawned boulder after boulder, blocking the many paths and tunnels she and Mark went through. Not all of them were sturdy, in fact some of the larger ones would break easily due to the haphazard swings. But it is serviceable to try and keep whatever it is at bay for now.

And not a moment too soon either; As the growls became roars, the demons began violently pounding on the blocked door, wanting to escape their confinement...

Alberia tried to seal as many exits as she could with the boulders she made, and even shot enough rocks to make it look like an avalanche had struck that cave at the exit.

Alberia and Mark had barely escaped with their lives and ran to their village to warn the people...

But who knows how long they had. A loud bashing was heard against the blocked metal door. A huge roar echoes through the sealed cave. The snarls and barks only added to the ferociousness of these maddening creatures. As if they had been rudely awakened, the roars got loud enough to wake up more roars and snarls, and so on and so forth, until the whole cave was filled with nothing but berserking roars and bloodthirsty cackles.

Then, from the depths of it all, a dark voice booms from the shadows behind the door...

"Finally. Our thousand-year hibernation is over...now we shall drag these mortals into the endless nightmare from which we awoke..."

A new threat to Lyvsheria was about to emerge from its own grave, and once it's all unleashed, there won't be anything that could stop it...
