"She must have lived here, right?" Aliced asked the group. "Did she have kids?"

"Maybe she was the kid," Lilia responded. "Maybe she grew up here?"

"Is that even possible? Witches can get old, but she doesn't look old enough to be from whatever time this is," Jen said as she brushed dust off the mantle.

The group turned to look at Agatha. "What?" she asked sarcastically.

"You know something. You know that girl," Lilia said.

"Our paths have crossed." Agatha responded as she looked at the group waiting for her to say more.

"Don't want to elaborate on that anymore, Agatha?" Jen said frustratingly.

Agatha went to respond, but before she could get a word out, she felt a pulling sensation in her stomach. She looked at Rio, who nodded her head. Agatha swiftly got up from her chair and ran to the back door, receiving a shock as she reached the handle. It was then she heard a whistle from behind her, and she turned to see Rio pointing towards a window. Agatha quickly walked to the window, pulled the wooden shutter back, and gasped. On that note, the others joined her, with the exception of Rio.

"Who is that boy?" Alice asked, looking at Agatha.

"Agatha," the teen said. "Who is she talking to?"

"Her brother," Rio said from behind the group.

"Bea," Nicky said as he sat down next to Bella. The young boy started examining the young woman. "Why are you older?"

"I grew up a little, Nicky." She said as the boy reached over and picked up the doll.

"You got it!" he said with excitement. "Mother said she would leave it for you."

"She gave it to me that night she took you," Bella said. "Nicky, why are you here? Why did she bring me to you?"

"Can we play? Can you skip stones like you used to?"

She couldn't tell the young boy no. "Sure, go find me a couple of good ones." She said as she took the doll back from him.

(*)

"Her brother?" The group, except Agatha, said in unison.

"Yes." Rio said sarcastically as she stood up and walked towards the group. "Her twin brother." Rio continued with a gasp.

"How is that possible? They aren't the same age," Alice asked.

"The road shows us our fears," Lilia said calmly.

"You mean to tell me that she is afraid of a little boy?" Jen replied.

"Does she look afraid of him?" Rio said almost angrily to Jen.

"No, I guess not," Jen said directly to Rio.

"What is he doing?" the teen asked, as the group watched the young boy get up and walk down the creek.

"He is looking for stones," Agatha said quietly.

"Stones?" Jen said. "That is an oddly specific thing to say."

Rio nudged Agatha, who pulled her focus back to the group. "Isn't it obvious? They are sitting by a creek. Who doesn't skip rocks on a creek?" Agatha said almost humorously.

"Not that obvious," Alice said to Agatha as she walked back to an empty chair.

"How are we supposed to know when the trial starts if they are out there and we are in here? We can't even hear them." Teen said from the window back to Agatha.

The group turned to Agatha. "Why are you looking at me? How should I know?"

"You are the only one who has been on The Road," Lilia says, frustrated.

Teen walked over to the mantle and noticed a small hourglass with sand trickling down. "She has an hour. Look."

"Why does she get more time than I do?" Jen asked.

"The Road must think she needs more time, Jennifer." Lilia said from the window.

"Seems unfair, but whatever." Jen retorted as she sat down in the other empty chair.

"What happens if she can't complete the task in an hour?" Rio asked somewhat concerned.

"The road takes her, and she will be stuck here," Agatha said to Rio, almost happy at the prospect.

Rio looked at Lilia, and they both turned their focus to Bella and the boy outside.

(*)

"I found the perfect ones!" Nicky said as he rushed back to Bella. The boy sat next to Bella and dumped out the stones he had collected.

"Can you use your purple on them?" he asked quietly. "I won't tell. I promise."

Bella smirked and waved a finger at one of the stones, watched it as it slowly began to lift with the aid of purple smoke, and with a flick of her wrist, she sent the stone skipping down the creek, causing the boy to squeal in excitement.

"Do it again, Bea! Do it again!"

As Bella picked up the next stone, she looked at Nicky. "Nicky, why am I here?"

Nicky's eyes were locked on the levitating stone, and he knew he would have to answer the question. He turned and looked at Bea, "Mother said you had to come here. She said she had to bring you to me." As soon as he answered the question, he returned his gaze to the stone.

Bella flicked her wrist, and the stone went skipping across the creek.

"Why, Nicky? What aren't you telling me?" She asked as she levitated another stone.

"I can't tell you. You have to figure it out by yourself," he responded.

"Are you here to help me figure it out?" she asked, but the boy did not respond. He looked at Bea, then back at the levitating stone, which caused her to smile as she flicked her wrist.

"Okay, let me try this again. Are you here to help me figure it out?" She asked while levitating another stone.

"Yes, when it is time." He responded and waited for her to flick the stone across the water.

The cottage had become rather quiet. Fifteen minutes had passed, and they had decided to take turns looking out the window.

Rio stood at the window, quietly joined by Agatha.

"Guess you didn't know she could die here, did you?" Agatha said to Rio.

"Dead? You are smarter than that, my love." Rio responded.

"He looks just like I remember him." Agatha whispered.

"I know. He always liked it when she skipped the stones. Remember when you taught her to do that?" Rio asked Agatha.

"Of course I do," Agatha responded.

"When are you going to forgive her?" Rio said, looking at Agatha.

"Should I forgive her?" Agatha said with a laugh.

"How many times have I told you it wasn't her choice? Their fate was decided as soon as you became pregnant."

"It was a fact decided upon by her. She broke the order of things, and you let her." Agatha said.

"She was always meant to be this way," Rio replied.

"Yes, and that is because of you. He was my heart." Agatha said as she turned and walked away.

(*)

"One more, please?" Nicky said. The pile of stones he had picked up was not gone.

"Nicky, I can't stay forever, and you know that, don't you? What am I here to do? Is it something for you?" Bella asked.

Nicky stood up and turned back to the cottage where he saw Rio standing in the window.

"They are both here," Bella said as Rio disappeared from the window.

"Go get them! Please, Bella, I want to see them," Nicky asked eagerly as he tried to walk towards the cottage, but his feet were stuck to the ground. "Bea, let me go. I want to see them."

"I can't let you do that, Nicky. I told you I can't stay here forever, and neither can they." She said with a tear running down her face. Just then, Agatha and Rio appeared in the window.

"Mama!" Nicky yelled.

"Bubba, they can't hear you. I put a spell on the cottage."

"Bea, please," the boy continued.

"If I let you see them, will you help me? You have to be quick."

The boy nodded, and as she flipped her wrist, the door to the cottage opened.

"Nicky!" Agatha yelled as she ran towards the boy and hugged him.

Bella watched as Rio emerged from the cottage with a disapproving look on her face. Soon the rest of the group slowly made their way out of the cottage and watched what was happening.

"Nicky? As in Nicholas Scratch?" Jen asked. "I thought she had sold his soul."

"Wait, she is the twin sister of Nicholas Scratch?" Alice asked in shock. "Then that means..."

"Agatha is her mother," Lilia finished the sentence.

"Ding-ding." Rio said as she walked towards the creek. As she got closer, the ground started to tremble and the wind picked up, causing the leaves to blow uncontrollably.

"What the hell is happening?" Jen yelled.

"Back into the cottage," Lilia yelled as she, Teen, Alice, and Jen made their way back into the cottage. "She doesn't want us to help," she continued as she walked to the window to watch the group outside.

"Cool it, Bea," Agatha yelled at the young woman. "You are scaring your brother."

As much as she didn't want to admit it, she knew Agatha was right. Nicky never liked it when she got angry, but she had to make sure the other four got back into the cottage. Bella did as Agatha instructed, and the ground stopped shaking, and the leaves gently drifted back to the ground.

"Nicky, or should I say Mother, why am I here?" Bella said angrily.

Nicky squirmed out of Agatha's tight grasp and started walking towards Bella. "Bea, what is your greatest fear?" He asked as he reached for her hand and guided her to the creek.

"Nicky," Bella said as she started to cry. "I can't do this again."

"You have to. That is why you are here and why Mama is here." Nicky said, turning his head to look at Agatha and Rio.

Bella sniffled. "Nicky, I killed you that night. It was supposed to be me, not you."

"At least she admits it." Agatha smirked.

"Would you just listen? If not to me, then at least to him." Rio said.

"Bea, you didn't kill me. I was meant to go. Remember Mother told us that night," Nicky said as he handed Bella the doll.

"What did he mean by what you told them?" Agatha asked Rio as she turned to face her. "You, you were going to take both of them?" Agatha questioned Rio.

"Why do you even care? You don't even like me," Bella quietly answered back to Agatha.

"Mother couldn't take her," Nicky continued. "I don't know why, but she couldn't take Bea."

"Why not?" Agatha asked Rio.

Rio shrugged her shoulders.

"Oh, don't give me that. You know why." Agatha yelled back at Rio. Agatha then turned her attention to Bella. "Why? You killed him? Why?"

"I didn't kill him," Bella said, sobbing. "Mother came that night in the woods. She called both of us to her. The last thing I remember is green, and I woke up holding Nicky and screaming. You've blamed me all these years, and I started to believe you, but I didn't kill him."

"Why is she alive? You were going to take them both, but you couldn't, why?" Agatha turned her attention back to Rio.

"I tried to save him," Bella said quietly from behind Rio and Agatha, whose bodies were blocking the view of the window that the group inside was huddled around.

"Oh, did you know?" Agatha said as she turned to face Bella and gasped.

"I told you she never had a choice," Rio said as the ground began to tremble and the creek opened up to reveal the exit to the trial.
