Lucy didn't turn around. She didn't say anything either, or give any indication that she was listening–or even that she heard. But he could tell by the way her pencil scratches began recording ever so slower that she had not ignored him entirely.
Cobra took a step inside the room. "Have you ever seen a movie lacrima before?"
The pencil scratches faltered briefly before returning to their normal rhythm. "I swear this isn't a random topic change," Cobra said. "I ask because…that's what it feels like when I listen closely to someone…it's not just the words, but the pictures in their heads I can see. That's how I knew Titania had been in the Tower before she ever told us. I could hear it play out in her mind the first time we fought."
He took another step inside, a little longer in stride. "When someone is thinking about something just below the surface, it's a bit like hearing a movie play in another room. I can hear whispers of dialogue, imagine what makes the sound effects, but I can't see the whole picture. I'd have to step into the room where it's playing to see it." Cobra took a deep breath. "I stepped into that room the other day when it was clearly a showing not intended for an audience."
A/N: As a quick reminder, movies are canon to FT. Wally watches one after escaping the ToH. Odd how they basically never come up again, but apt for this metaphor.
