Chapter 50: Matchmakers
Santana's POV
*Monday 21st August 2023*
Brittany and I are just putting our plan into action just now with trying to get Jessica and Carly talking. Brittany has gone back to work for the moment with Jessica and I've just had a reply from my sister telling me she's free so she'll come over. I've already let Brittany know the plan so the two of us are waiting for Carly to arrive and then we'll see how to do this. I'm just spending some time with the kids as I wait.
"Finally" I say as I see my sister's car pull up into the drive. "Your auntie Carly took ages to turn up" I tell my kids as I make my way towards the door.
"Hey" Carly smiles as I open the door.
"Hey, in you come" I smile back. "We're in the living room so come through" I tell her as we make our way back to the living room.
"Hi guys, how are you?" Carly asks her nephews as she picks Jaxon up to hug him.
"They're very loud today, that's how they are" I laugh.
"Are you being too much for your mommy to handle today?" Carly asks as she kisses Jaxon's head. He doesn't reply, he just smiles and hugs her back.
"Britt is doing some work and I was just struggling on my own" I reply. I mean it's kinda a lie because I probably could manage but it's not a full on lie because it's true Brittany is working and isn't able to help me right now.
"Speaking of Brittany, there she is" Carly smiles at Brittany as she walks into the room.
"Hey" Brittany smiles back. "I am so glad you're here actually Carly because I need my wife for a second. There's a slight issue I'm having with work so I need her to come to the office so could you just watch the boys for a second while we go to the other room?" she asks.
"Yeah of course I can" Carly nods.
"Thank you, you're the best" Brittany smiles again.
"We won't be long" I say before my wife and I leave the room. "So how are we doing this?" I whisper.
"We'll pretend I need you to help me with something so we'll ask Jessica if she can watch the boys for a second. Technically I don't need your help though, we'll just get her through to the living room and then we'll take the boys so her and Carly can talk" Brittany explains.
"Ok" I nod.
"Hey Jess, would you mind keeping an eye on the kids for us while we sort this issue out?" Brittany asks as we walk into the home office.
"Of course, it's part of the job" Jessica smiles.
"Thanks" Brittany smiles and then Jessica heads to the living room.
"How long do we wait before we go through?" I ask.
"Let's go now before either one of them tries to leave" Brittany says as she takes my hand and pulls me to the living room.
"Carly…what are you doing here?" Jessica asks surprised.
"I'm here to help Santana with the kids since Brittany is working. Santana didn't say you were working as well or that you were even here" Carly replies while turning to glare at me as my wife and I walk into the room.
"Why do I have to look after the boys if Carly is here?" Jessica asks, turning to look at Brittany.
"Actually, neither of you are looking after the kids" Brittany says as she picks up Xavier and I pick up Jaxon.
"Let me guess, you two aren't actually working, are you?" Carly states.
"Nope, it's a set up so you two will talk" I shrug.
"I don't like being lied to Santana; you know that" Carly says annoyed as she stands up from the couch. "You got me to come over on false pretences, that's not ok" she says shaking her head.
"Yeah, and I don't like being lied to either. You and I are supposed to be working Brittany" Jessica states.
"I know and we don't like lying but we had to do something to get you both in the same room to talk to one another. You're best friends at the end of the day so no matter what happens, you mean a lot to one another so you should try to work this out" Brittany tells Carly and Jessica.
"It's too soon for me to talk because I'm confused" Carly sighs. "I'm going to have to go home because I can't do this right now" she says as she walks towards the door.
"Please don't leave, you two should talk" I plead.
"I can't right now, Santana" Carly shakes her head at me.
"You want to talk, right Jess?" I ask Jessica.
"Yeah, I would like to see where we stand at the moment" Jessica nods.
"Look, we'll leave the room and you two can talk to one another. You don't have to figure out your futures or anything, just be friends for a minute. Talk about the weather even or what you watched on TV last night. It doesn't have to be that deep right now" I state.
"I guess we could talk about our mutual hate for the pair of you for doing this to us" Carly states.
"Come on, I know you don't hate me. You love me because I'm the best sister ever" I smile.
"Look, just take a second to be in the same room as one another because sooner or later we need to sort this so why not start now, nice and easy" Brittany smiles.
"I just can't believe you're making us do this when we're not ready" Carly sighs.
"Not ready? I'm not asking you to be together. I am just asking you to sit in the same room and talk about something. I've already gave you a few topics" I tell them.
"I don't mind talking to you Carly" Jessica smiles.
"Fine, we'll do it" Carly nods. "You two can go away now" she says as she looks at Britt and I.
"Ok, we'll be in the kid's playroom" I tell them.
"Uh…no you won't. It's right across from here so you're too close. You'll end up listening in to our conversation so instead, you should go upstairs and leave us alone" Carly tells me.
"Ok" I shrug. If that is what she wants then we'll do it.
"Just shout if you need us" Brittany says.
"We will" Jessica nods and then Brittany and I leave with the boys.
"Are you going to be ok going upstairs?" Brittany asks me as she stops mid-step.
"Why wouldn't I be?" I ask confused.
"Because you can't eavesdrop on what's going on and I know you like to do that when it comes to your family" she teases.
"Just keep walking" I tell her as I playfully roll my eyes at her.

*Wednesday 23rd August 2023*
Brittany has taken the boys to visit her parents just now so I'm at home, waiting on Quinn turning up. My best friend is coming over to catch up with me and more importantly, to discuss her wedding. I've made a good start on making her wedding dress but I also want to do another fitting with her to make sure things are going to plan before I take the design any further. I'm actually getting really excited about her wedding because making her dress is such a special thing and I get to do it for my best friend.
"Hey, it's me" I hear Quinn say as she gingerly walks into the house, not sure of where I am.
"Hey" I say as I meet her in the hallway. "Shall we go to the kitchen?" I suggest.
"Sure" Quinn smiles as she follows me.
"Oh my god, I can barely walk this morning" I say as I slowly walk towards the kitchen. "Anyway, can I get you some coffee?" I ask my best friend.
"Yeah, I'll take some coffee but let me do it and you sit down" Quinn replies.
"Ok, if you're sure" I say as I take a seat at the table, wincing in pain as I sit.
"What on earth has happened to you?" Quinn asks curiously as she starts making coffee.
"Brittany has been working me hard lately, I've never been so sore" I state.
"Oh my…too much information" Quinn says shocked.
"Oh…no, I didn't mean it like that" I say, laughing at the expression on her face. "I persuaded her to draw me up a workout plan to lose the baby weight so she's been making me do all crazy kinds of stuff" I say.
"Ok, I get it" Quinn laughs.
"Anyway, we're not here to talk about that, we're here to discuss your wedding" I smile. "So…are you getting nervous about the wedding?" I ask my best friend.
"Maybe a little bit but it's not the getting married part that makes me nervous, it's everything else. I mean like what happens if something we need isn't delivered or the bridesmaids dresses don't fit properly or something" Quinn replies.
"Yeah, I know the feeling" I nod. I had worries about that when I was planning my own wedding.
"How did you cope with the stress?" Quinn asks me.
"Not well" I laugh. "Seriously though, in the end Britt and I just realised what mattered most and that was being together so no silly arguments or tensions or silly superstitions could change that" I tell her.
"I suppose that is a mature way of thinking about it" Quinn states.
"Look, at the end of the day the important thing is that you and James are happy together. You're going to live your life together so one day can't change years and years of happiness. Don't get me wrong it would be amazing if it all went to plan but if it doesn't then you still have James and all of your friends and family" I say.
"You're right" Quinn smiles.
"Let's still do our best though to make this day amazing" I smile back.
After spending some time with Quinn talking about her wedding and taking some measurements for the dress, she headed off home. She had a few other wedding arrangements to take care of so she left to do that and I made use of my time alone to finally catch up on some household chores. It's not the most glamourous thing to do in my spare time but it needed to be done. I'm just washing up a few dishes at the sink when I feel a presence behind me.
"Hi" Brittany whispers in my ear as she wraps her arms around my waist from behind.
"Hey" I reply excitedly. We've barely been apart for long but I miss her. We've been spending so much time around each other that when we are apart, it hurts more.
"I kinda missed you when I was out" she tells me.
"Yeah, I missed you too, quite a lot actually" I say as I turn around in her arms to face her. "Speaking of missing people, where are my babies?" I ask confused. Brittany is home but I see no Xavier or Jaxon.
"My mom and dad are looking after them for a little while. They're bring them back home in a couple of hours. They wanted to spend some quality time with their grandsons so I didn't see the point in hanging around when I could be here with you" she explains.
"That's cool" I smile as I lean up to peck her lips.
"So, I'm assuming Quinn has been and gone now?" Brittany asks.
"Yeah, she has" I nod.
"So, how is Quinn's wedding dress coming along then?" Brittany asks me curiously.
"A little slower than I wanted but I think I'll get there" I smile.
"Do you need any help?" she asks.
"Um…" I say nervously, thinking of how to put this in the kindest way I can.
"Don't worry, I didn't mean designing it. I meant like do you need me to get more fabric or other supplies" she laughs.
"Thanks babe but I don't need help right now but if I do then I'll let you know" I tell her.
"Ok" Brittany nods.

*Saturday 26th August 2023*
My parents have kindly offered to babysit both of my kids tonight so Brittany and I could spend some time with our friends. I've planned for us to go out to dinner together so we can hang out and catch up but most importantly, so I can talk to everyone about Quinn's wedding. With the wedding fast approaching then I wanted to gather all of our female friends together so we can talk about the dresses and organise a fitting really soon. Along with making Quinn's wedding dress, I said I would make the bridesmaids dresses too so I need to get things started on that so I need to catch up with my friends to talk about it.
"How do I look?" I ask my wife as she walks into the master bedroom.
"Fantastic as always" Brittany smiles.
"As much as these heels will be killing my feet later since I haven't worn them in a while, it is really nice to get away from the sweatpants and sneakers" I point out.
"I know exactly what you mean because I was beginning to look like a slob these days" Brittany states.
"That is not true Britt, you look good in anything…well not anything because you know how I feel about certain outfits of yours but that's about the clothes not you personally so you get what I mean" I reply.
"Yeah, I appreciate the compliment that's hidden in that anyway" Brittany laughs.
As soon as Brittany and I are ready to go, we head outside to the awaiting cab. The journey to the restaurant doesn't take long at all so we're heading inside to meet our friends before we know it. Once we're sat down, we take a look at the menus and order some drinks. I've ordered some wine for the table so the waiter has just brought it to me.
"Some wine for everyone?" I say as I start filling up the glasses.
"Oh, not for me" Mercedes replies.
"Come on, it's not a school night so have some fun" Brittany states.
"Honestly, I'm good. I'll just stick to water tonight" Mercedes smiles.
"Is there something going on Mercedes" Brittany asks with a smirk.
"No" Mercedes shakes her head.
"You're one of my best friends so I can tell when you're lying and you're lying right now" Brittany points out.
"You're pregnant, aren't you?" I smirk. "As the only woman here who has been pregnant before, I can totally tell the signs. You and Sam are having a baby" I add.
"I didn't want to say anything tonight since we're here to discuss Quinn's wedding but yeah, I'm pregnant" Mercedes smiles.
"That's amazing Mercedes" Brittany says as she stands up to hug her friend.
"Yeah congratulations, I'm so happy for you" Tina says.
"Me too" Quinn smiles. "And honestly you don't need to hide it because it's great news" she adds.
"Yeah, I'm pleased for you as well and if you need any advice then I'm your girl since I've done this twice in 2 years" I state.
"Ok" Mercedes laughs.
After spending the night with our friends, we all eventually went back to our homes. It was a really fun night getting to hang out with each other to catch up but it was also a really productive night which was great. I've got some great ideas for the bridesmaids' dresses and everyone seemed to agree on colour schemes so I definitely think I can get started soon with my plans. Brittany and I are now getting ready for bed.
"So that's great news for Mercedes and Sam" I say as I leave the master bathroom.
"Yeah, it really is, I'm happy for them" Brittany smiles.
"It'll also give Jaxon and Xavier another little friend to play with which is cute" I say as I get into bed.
"Yeah, I know, I can't wait until all of our friends have kids and all of the kids can be friends like we all are" Brittany replies as she joins me in bed.
"Yeah, exactly" I smile.
"I am so happy that all of our friends are living happy lives like us now" my wife says.
"Me too" I nod.
"Come here" Brittany says softly as she gently places her hand on my cheek and kisses my lips.
I immediately kiss my wife back, putting my arms around her and gently caressing the skin on her back. We begin kissing more passionately as our tongues fight for dominance and our hands are all over each other.
"Do you want to stop?" Brittany asks, pulling away momentarily.
"Not at all" I shake my head.
"Ok, good" she smiles as she moves position so she's hovering above me.
"Come back to me" I say as I pull her head down so I can kiss her.
"We should undress before this goes any further" Brittany states.
"Yeah, we should" I nod in agreement.
The minute we both get rid of all of our clothes, we get settled back in bed, resuming our position. We continue kissing for a moment or so before Brittany moves her attention to my neck, kissing downwards to my shoulder. I can feel myself getting more and more turned on by the second and I think Brittany feels it too. She doesn't do anything about it right away though, she just keeps kissing me, paying particular attention to my sweet spots.
"You need to get inside me now" I tell her, struggling not to moan as I speak.
"Ok" Brittany smiles before shuffling down the bed to get into position.
The minute Brittany pushes into me, I nearly lose control right away. There is just something about the way she builds up a rhythm between us that instantly makes me want to cum. I grip onto the bed sheets around me as Brittany continues to thrust in and out of me. It takes everything I have in me not to let go too soon. However, as soon as I see the look in Brittany's eyes meaning she feels the same, we both relieve ourselves of that feeling and let our orgasms ride out.
"So…that was fun" I smile contently, as we try to get our breath back.
"Yeah, it was and it was even better that we didn't need to rush or get interrupted" Brittany smiles back as she moves to lie next to me, wrapping her arms around me.
"I know" I nod.
"It can just be you and me for a little while" Brittany says as she wraps her arms around me.
"I want to ask you a question and I want you to answer honestly. I don't want you to say what you think I want to hear or say something to make me feel better. I want you to give it to me straight and tell me how you really feel" I tell her.
"Ok, I can do that" Brittany nods, giving me her full attention.
"Do you still find me as attractive as you did before now that I have gained weight during the pregnancies?" I ask.
"100% yes" Brittany nods.
"Do you have a preference though as to which you prefer. My body before I got pregnant or now with the extra weight. I know you say I'm still attractive but is there a look you like better than the other?" I ask.
"I don't really want to answer that because it would sway what you did. If I said I liked you before then you would work super hard to lose weight and if I said you look better now then you would stay as you are. I don't want you to do what I want; I want you to do what you want. It's your body baby so you should do what you feel most comfortable with" she smiles.
"What is it that you want?" I ask curiously. I know she said I need to do what I want but out of curiosity I want to know what she actually wants because she didn't say.
"I just want you to be happy. Like honestly Santana, you look great in every way and that is not me trying to butter you up. You're very attractive no matter what way you look. You're one of those lucky ones that could never be unattractive" she tells me.
"I actually don't know what I want to do. I liked how I looked before because that was me but now, I just wonder if I might like looking like this. I thought I didn't hence the reason I wanted to lose weight but a part of me now thinks I might like my body with a little extra weight. I don't mean an unhealthy weight but just a little more enhanced in places. I don't like the stomach area very much but I think that bit extra on my thighs and butt is kinda sexy" I admit.
"You are sexy, so sexy" Brittany smirks before kissing me.
"You're super sexy too you know" I smile.
"Personally, I don't love my body as you know but I accept it so I wouldn't change it" Brittany shrugs.
"Well, I love your body" I tell her as I kiss her this time.
00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
*Monday 28th August 2023*
I woke up early this morning so my intention was to just get out of bed and find a quiet place in the house to work on some of Quinn's wedding outfits while everyone else was sleeping. It didn't exactly work out like that though. As soon as I stepped out of the bed, Jaxon woke up and saw me trying to tiptoe out of the room so I couldn't just walk past him. I got him out of his bed and we went downstairs. We ended up having some quality mother-son time until Brittany and Xavier woke up and joined us.
Brittany and I haven't really got anything planned to do today so I've had an idea of what I could do but I need to check with Brittany first to make sure she's ok with it. It means leaving her with both boys on her own for the day so I don't want to do that if she doesn't feel comfortable with it yet. It is a lot to handle parenting both on them on our own so I would get it.
"Babe" I say to get my wife's attention.
"Yes, my love" Brittany smiles at me.
"I know this is a lot to ask but can you look after the kids yourself for the full day today because I need to go into work. I am freaking out about these bridesmaid dresses so I feel like I need to spend the whole day today without distractions working on them" I reply.
"Yeah of course I can. You do what you need to do babe" she smiles again.
"We could actually call Jessica to come over and help you if you want" I suggest.
"No, it'll be fine. I can do this" Brittany states. "Plus, Jess is doing some training at work so I wouldn't want to disturb her. Jack and Jade are going through some things with her so it's best we leave them be" she adds.
"Ok, fair enough" I smile.
As soon as I'm ready for the day and Brittany seems settled with the kids, I say goodbye to everyone and head off to work. I manage to miss the rush hour traffic so it's an easy ride to work. It's a little weird though to be heading to work without Brittany but it's ok because it's not going to be for the full day. The minute I arrive, I park up my car and then head inside, making my way straight to my office.
"Morning Ms Lopez" Jade smiles at me.
"Morning" I reply. "I'm not here officially today so you and Jack are still in charge. I just need to work on a design that I can't do at home because I'm too distracted" I tell her.
"Ok, no problem" Jade nods.
"If time allows, I may catch up with you after that but if not, we'll talk soon about how things are going" I tell her.
"Ok, that's fine" Jade smiles.
"Anyway, I'll head to my office now" I say before turning around and making my way to where I need to be.
XXX
I'm just working hard on the dresses for Quinn's wedding when there's a knock at the door. I'm not sure who it is and I can't say I appreciate the interruption either. I specifically told Jade earlier that I wasn't officially here so I didn't want anyone to disturb me. If I didn't mind interruptions then I would have spent the day at home looking after two small children. I walk over to the door and pull it open.
"Hey, can I come in?" my sister asks me.
"Sure" I say, my mood relaxing a little since it's my sister at the door and not someone from work. My family and close friends are about the only people I don't mind interrupting me right now.
"Brittany told me you were working here today so I thought I would swing by and see if you needed anything" Carly tells me.
"Did you really?" I ask in disbelief.
"No" Carly says, struggling not to laugh. "Honestly I'm trying to seem helpful but really I have an ulterior motive as to why I'm here" she adds.
"You know what, you get more and more like me everyday" I say amused. That is totally the attitude I would have.
"Yeah, perhaps I do" Carly smiles.
"Anyway, what's going on?" I ask curiously.
"I just feel like I need to talk to someone because I still don't know what's going on in my head so that's where you come in" she replies.
"I'm glad you feel you can talk to me because it hasn't always been like that" I smile.
"I know but we're close again and you're a really good person to talk to. You know the balance between being gentle and giving it to me straight" Carly states.
"Thanks" I smile. "So, are you and Jess doing ok now?" I ask my sister. She didn't really say much the other day after they talked.
"I'm still confused about us because I don't know how I feel at the moment. Like am I feeling this way because we're best friends or am I feeling this way because I want it to become something more?" Carly states.
"Have you thought about Jess in a romantic way at all?" I ask.
"The thought of kissing her seems odd because we're best friends so it makes me giggle thinking about it you know but weirdly enough, I don't feel repulsed by it though. I don't mean Jess should be repulsive to me, because she's beautiful, but because she is my best friend then ordinarily you wouldn't want to kiss them, right?" she sighs.
"Honestly, I think you should just remain at this pace. Just be friends again and hang out, have some fun" I tell her. "Just be around one another again and see what happens from there. There is no reason to jump into this without taking your time" I point out.
"Like that's fine with me, I'm happy to do that but it's Jess. She's already falling for me so what if I end up leading her on and hurting her. I don't want to spend all this time with her and then realise I want to just be friends because that'll hurt her so badly" she sighs.
"I get that but it's better than the alternative with never spending time together and never knowing what could be. If you're meant to be then that's amazing and if you're not then you can stay friends. Deliberately avoiding her won't make either of you happy at any point and you might never get to be friends at least. You two are way too good together to not at least be friends so don't cut her out. I know it'll be hard on her if you realise you don't feel the same but honestly, she'll get over it in time and you'll still have the friendship. You can't stay away just in case you hurt her because that's hurting both of you. You need to give this a chance for both of your sakes" I explain.
"So, we just be friends then?" she asks.
"For the moment, yeah" I nod.
After spending some time with my sister, she headed off home again. It was nice to spend some time with her but I was glad when she left because it meant I could get back to what I was working on. I just really need to spend as much time as I can on the dresses for Quinn's wedding so every minute counts. I wasn't too worried in the beginning because I thought I had time but now I'm starting to panic that I've bitten off more than I can chew. I'm currently just taking a break right now so I'm calling Brittany to see what's going on at home.
"Hello" Brittany answers her cell.
"Hey, it's me" I reply.
"Who's me?" Brittany states.
"Your soon to be ex-wife" I tell her, not appreciating the joke.
"Oh, come on, I'm just playing. I wouldn't mistake your voice baby so there is no need to get pissed. I know it's you" she tells me.
"Good" I state.
"So, we can put the divorce back on hold?" she teases.
"Yeah, we don't even need to think about it anymore" I say. "So, what's going on?" I ask.
"Not much is going on. The kids are both napping at the moment so I'm eating some lunch" Brittany tells me.
"What are you eating?" I ask curiously.
"Just a salad that I whipped up" she replies. "What about you, have you eaten lunch yet?" she asks.
"No, not yet" I tell her.
"Well, you should eat something because you need to keep your strength up especially when you're trying to focus on something important" Brittany states.
"I know but I didn't bring any food with me" I shrug to myself.
"I'm sure our staff members won't grudge you having something from the staffroom even if we're not technically working there at the moment" she says.
"I guess" I sigh. "I just don't know what I want to eat" I say indecisively.
"You know what, I am ordering you take out right now from the sandwich shop nearby. I'll order on my tablet and they can deliver to the office as soon as it's ready" Brittany tells me.
"You don't need to do that" I assure her.
"Yes, I do so be prepared for someone from the reception coming to the office with your delivery" she replies.
"Ok, thank you" I say appreciatively.
"So, how are the dresses coming along?" Brittany asks curiously.
"Not too bad but I do still have a bit of work to do on them" I tell her.
"I'm sure you'll get there because you're a superstar" she replies.
"Thanks" I say, appreciating her support. "I should go now so I can do a little more before lunch arrives but I will hopefully be home soon" I tell her.
"Awesome, talk to you later" Brittany says.
"Bye" I say before hanging up the phone.
Brittany's POV
*Thursday 31st August 2023*
My wife and I are spending the day apart today. Santana has gone into work again to get some more hours in making Quinn's dress and the bridesmaids dresses. Meanwhile I am at home spending my time switching between duties of being a mom and running a business. Jessica is here helping me today with whatever I need. Sometimes she'll be watching the kids, sometimes she's doing some work for the business and other times we're working together when the kids nap schedule allows.
"So how are you and Carly if you don't mind me asking?" I ask Jessica.
"We're ok, we've realised friends is all we can be right now so that's where we're going" Jessica replies.
"Oh honey, I'm sorry. Are you ok?" I say sympathetically.
"It's fine Brittany, it's for the best" she smiles.
"It must have been a bit hard to hear though because you wanted to be together" I point out.
"Yeah, I mean I'm not going to lie and say I feel great right now because I don't but at least I still have her in my life. She still wants to be friends so that's better than not wanting us to be anything" Jessica states.
"Yeah, I guess that is true" I nod. "If you ever want to talk about it though then I am here. Whatever you need, I'll help you" I smile.
"Thanks Brittany" Jessica smiles back. "I think for the moment though, I just need to not think about it" she tells me.
"That's cool, we'll just move onto work" I reply.
After spending a while working, Jessica and I decided to call it a day. She went home and I spent the rest of the afternoon with my children. We had lunch and played for a little while before the kids took a nap. I did some household chores while they were napping. Jaxon and Xavier are both awake again now so we're spending some time together. We're just in the living room playing with Jaxon's toys, waiting on Santana getting home.
"I think that noise might be mommy's car pulling into the drive" I tell the kids as we hear something outside.
"Mommy!" Jaxon says excitedly while clapping his hands together.
"She'll be here soon" I tell him. "How about we go to the door and meet her?" I say as I take Jaxon's hand in mine while carrying Xavier as we walk to the front door.
"Mommy!" Jaxon shouts as I open the door.
"Oh, there are my favourite people" Santana smiles as she exits the car. "I am so glad to see you all" she says as she hurriedly makes her way over to us, picking Jaxon up in her arms as she reaches us.
"We've missed mommy, haven't we?" I say to the kids.
"Yess" Jaxon replies as he hugs Santana tightly.
"I've missed you too" Santana says as she kisses Jaxon's head and then Xavier's head.
"Where's mine?" I say with a flirtatious wink.
"You'll get a kiss as soon as we're inside because it won't be appropriate to do it out here in front of neighbours" she tells me, being just as flirtatious as I was.
"Is it going to be that good of a kiss?" I ask with a smirk.
"Might be" Santana shrugs teasingly. "Anyway, let's go inside now" she says as we all head inside and I close the door behind us.
"Hey, are you hungry?" I ask my wife.
"Yeah, very" Santana nods.
"How about you spend some time with the boys and I'll go and make us something to eat" I suggest. Santana has been out all day so she'll want some time with her children.
"Sounds good" Santana smiles at me.

Jaxon and Xavier are both in bed now and sleeping so Santana and I are getting some time to ourselves. We're just hanging out in the living room, relaxing on the couch together. I am so glad we're getting a little bit of time on our own because we've been so busy recently that we haven't had a lot of time together. The only time we really do have together is when we're in bed but that doesn't really count since we're asleep.
"So, what do you want to watch together on TV?" Santana asks me.
"I don't really want to watch TV" I reply.
"What do you want to do?" she asks me curiously.
"I don't know but I'm still waiting on that kiss from earlier" I smirk.
"I know so come here" Santana says as she pulls me by the hands towards her. She then leans in and kisses me.
"That's better" I smile. "I've been waiting for you to kiss me all day" I add.
"Was it worth the wait?" Santana smiles.
"Yeah" I smile back.
"So…what do you want to do now?" she asks me curiously.
"Just hang out with you and catch up because we haven't seen one another all that much" I shrug.
"Ok, we can do that" Santana smiles. "So, how has your day been?" she asks.
"It's been ok. I got some work done and I got to spend some quality time with our children" I reply. "How about your day?" I ask.
"Yeah, it has been ok too. I kinda wish I didn't spend it away from you and the kids but needs must I guess" Santana says.
"We'll all get some family time together soon" I smile.
"Yeah, hopefully" she nods.
"Speaking of family, Jessica told me she and Carly are just going to stay as friends, nothing more" I tell my wife.
"Did she?" Santana asks confused.
"Yeah, why what did you hear?" I ask.
"Carly said something slightly different yesterday" Santana sighs. "She was still confused about everything so I think friends is where they are now but she didn't say that's all they'll ever be" she adds.
"I know it's none of my business but I think they've rushed it and not let things sink in. I mean it's great they're talking again and want the friendship back but if they gave things a little more time, Carly might feel the same" I point out.
"Maybe but as of right now, I think they should work on the friendship and walk before they can run" Santana replies.
"No, I get that but what I mean is, don't write it off altogether. Like you say work on the friendship for now but don't say for definite you won't be anything more if you're not as sure" I state.
"Maybe we just need to talk to Jessica again and tell her, this might not be over" Santana says.
"Yeah, maybe" I nod.

*Friday 1st September 2023*
Santana and I are currently at home together with the boys. We're finally getting to spend some time together again since we've been busy the last few days. I'm not going to be doing any work today and Santana is taking the day off from making the dresses for Quinn's wedding so it should be a fun day. Jaxon and Xavier are both napping right now so I'm just chilling out on my own downstairs while Santana is in the bathroom.
"Hey, are you ok? You were in the bathroom for some time" I ask my wife concerned as she enters the living room and joins me sitting on the couch.
"Yeah, I'm all good" Santana smiles. "I was just taking a bit longer because I got my period" she says happily.
"Wow…I don't think I have ever seen you this happy about it before" I chuckle confused.
"Normally I'm not overly happy about it but I am today because it means, I'm not pregnant. I was a little worried recently because we have been having sex before I was totally back to my normal routine with it so now that it's here then I'm relieved" she explains.
"Fair enough" I nod. "As much as I want lots of kids with you, the two is more than enough right now" I smile.
"Yeah, it is and also, I don't think you could take another 9-month rollercoaster of my emotions so I should really give you a chance to get over that before getting pregnant" Santana jokes.
"Honestly, it's fine" I smile.
"Seriously though, I am super grateful for how great and understanding you were during the pregnancy. I was not a nice person to you and I hate that" Santana says genuinely as she wraps her arms around me.
"It's all in the past, don't sweat it" I smile.
"Ok" she smiles back. We keep hugging for a few moments before we're interrupted by a knock at the front door.
"I wonder who that is" I say confused, pulling out of the hug.
"It'll be my sister probably because she asked if she could borrow our scanner to scan some documents onto her laptop. She needs to scan some things in for job applications" Santana explains.
"Oh, ok" I nod.
"She asked if she could use the one at work but since neither of us were going into work today then I said she could just use the one we have in our home office. It's pretty much the same" Santana replies.
"That's cool" I say as I make my way over to the door to open it for Carly.
"Hey" I smile at my sister-in-law.
"Hey" Carly smiles back. "I hope I'm not interrupting your family time" she says.
"No, not at all. The kids are still napping so Santana and I weren't really doing anything anyway" I tell Carly.
"Ok, cool" Carly nods.
"So, how are the job applications coming along?" Santana asks her sister as we make our way to the office to get started.
"Ok I guess but I feel like I'm just applying for any job right now because I still don't know what I really want to do. I do like modelling but it's not the same anymore and I need to think practically so I need some sort of job to pay the bills" Carly replies.
"Surely modelling pays more than some of these jobs though" I point out. Could she not continue modelling until she finds the right thing?
"Yeah, it does but I just don't know if I can put myself through that right now. I think I need to take a step back and get a regular job until I figure everything out" Carly explains.
"Fair enough" I smile.
"We'll figure out your career path though so don't worry. Brittany and I will do whatever we can to help you" Santana states.
"Thanks" Carly smiles. "So, how do I work this scanner?" Carly asks as she powers up her laptop.
"It's ok Brittany will do it. Just tell her what you need scanned and she'll do it" Santana replies.
"Oh, will she?" I say amused. I love how my wife will decide what I do.
"I can do it myself, just tell me how to use the machine" Carly shrugs.
"No, it's ok, Britt's capable" Santana smirks at me.
"Yeah, I'll do it" I smile.
"Are you sure because Santana volunteered you to do it, you didn't have to" Carly replies.
"Honestly, it's cool. There are certain things I do and certain things Santana does so I tend to do more of the technical work and Santana does other things" I state.
"Yeah, like carrying our children for 9 months at a time" Santana shrugs.
"Exactly" I smile as I lean over and kiss Santana's cheek.
"Not that I want to give Santana an ego boost since it's so big already but you two are a really cute couple" Carly tells us.
"Yeah, we are" Santana says smugly.
"Yeah, I think we're really good together" I agree. "Speaking of couples, I was speaking to Jessica the other day and from the sounds of it, she thinks for definite that friends is all it will be but I think you're both making a mistake writing it off so soon" I admit.
"I agree" Santana states.
"We're hanging out tonight so don't make this worse for me girls. We're finally comfortable around each other again so I don't need to be nervous to hang out with my best friend" Carly says.
"We don't want to make you nervous; we're just saying we think you need to think about things a little more" Santana shrugs. "Fair enough to be friends just now but why do you need to decide right now that you can't ever be anything more?" she asks.
"I didn't exactly say that, did I?" Carly replies.
"Not to me you didn't but it sounds like Jessica thought you did to her. The message she seems to have is only friendship" Santana states.
"Look, I just don't know what I want right now so maybe friendship only or maybe more. I just can't get Jess's hopes up so I need to play it down" Carly tells us.
"Ok well as long as you think about it and don't rush into something that you don't need to" Santana says.
"I won't" Carly nods.

*Monday 4th September 2023*
Santana and I are both at home today but it doesn't mean we're not having a busy day so far. Jessica is helping us with the kids today and also helping me with a few work matters. Meanwhile Santana has decided to work on the dresses for Quinn's wedding so she's currently upstairs taking some time to herself to focus on her task instead of being downstairs around the rest of us. I'm just on my way to our home office when there's a knock at the door so I turn around and head back towards the front door.
"Carly, hi" I say as I open the door.
"Hey" Carly smiles. "I hope you don't mind that I'm here again" she adds.
"No, it's totally cool" I smile.
"I kinda just wanted to hang out with my sister and be around you guys for a while because it's kinda tough at the moment. I don't have a clue what I'm doing going forward with my career and I live alone so everything is just piling on top of me and I don't have many people to talk to" she explains.
"Don't worry, I really get it. There is nothing worse than being in a negative mindset and being all alone with only your thoughts. I used to have periods like that before I met Santana so I know how you feel. It does help to be with your family and friends though so that's what we'll do" I reassure her.
"Thanks" Carly smiles gratefully. "Actually, where is my sister?" she asks as she realises Santana hasn't appeared yet.
"She's upstairs working on some of the designs for Quinn's wedding" I reply.
"Oh, cool. I can't wait to see them all once they're finished" Carly says.
"I know, none of us can" I smile.
"Do you think Santana will let me come by sometime and look at some of her designs so I can buy something from her clothing line to wear to the wedding because I still haven't found the right dress yet?" Carly asks.
"I'm sure she'd love you to wear one of her designs but she won't make you buy it because she's your sister" I tell her.
"I appreciate that but I can't let her do that because if she gave away free stuff to all of her family and friends then she'd never make money. I'll pay for the dress" Carly states.
"Come on, you and I both know Santana always gets her way so you won't be paying for this dress" I laugh.
"I think she might want me to pay for it though because as much as her family means a lot to her, so does her business so she'll want to make as much profit as she can" Carly replies.
"We'll just need to wait and see then" I shrug.
"Do you know, I thought I heard your voice talking and talking" Santana says as she walks downstairs.
"Who, mine or Carly's?" I ask amused.
"Yours baby, you're like me when you talk. The voice is loud and travels well" Santana states.
"Ok, I'm sorry" I laugh. After many years working and being with Santana, similarities start to occur.
"So, what's going on because you're here a lot at the moment, hanging around like a bad smell" Santana teases her sister.
"What Santana actually means is that she loves having you here all the time because you haven't spent this much time together since you were both living at home with your parents" I state.
"Is that true?" Carly asks, smiling at her sister.
"Ok, maybe I do like it a tiny bit that we get to hang out a lot together" Santana says nonchalantly. I think we all know; she loves it though.
"Yeah, I like it too" Carly nods. "So, where are my nephews?" she asks.
"In the playroom right now with…"
"Yeah, in the playroom so why don't you go and see them" Santana says, cutting me off. It takes me a second to realise why but it's because she didn't want me to let on that Jessica is also here right now.
"Cool" Carly smiles.
"Hey boys, look who is here" I say as I open the door.
"Jess, hi" Carly says surprised to see her. "I didn't think you were here today" she adds.
"Yeah, it was a last-minute arrangement because something came up at work so Brittany had important stuff to do so I was looking after the boys" Jessica explains.
"It almost sounds like another set up but I know it's not because I came here on my own accord today" Carly says.
"Exactly" Santana nods.
"Yeah, we've stopped trying to matchmake" I tell them.
"So, you two are still friends. Nothing has made it awkward again?" Santana asks.
"Yeah, still friends" Carly smiles.
"Good, we can all spend time together now then" Santana states.
After we all spent some time together and had lunch, we ended up branching off doing our own things. Jaxon and Xavier went down for a nap like they usually do in the afternoon while Santana went back upstairs and carried on designing the dresses. I went to our home office and caught up on some emails while Jessica and Carly hung out and looked after the kids for us should they wake up from their nap. I'm just on my way upstairs to find my wife since I want to see her.
"Hey, how are you getting on?" I ask Santana as I enter one of the guest bedrooms where she is.
"Ok, I think" she smiles.
"Do you want to take a break to get some coffee or something with me?" I ask.
"I would love to babe, let me just finish this last little section of Tina's dress" Santana replies.
"Ok" I smile.
I wait patiently for 10 minutes as Santana finishes what she is doing. She then tidies away her materials so our children won't get a hold of something they shouldn't and we leave the room. Santana quickly uses the bathroom and then we make our way downstairs to take a break. However, as soon as we walk into the kitchen, we get quite the surprise. Jessica is perched on our kitchen countertop with her arms around Carly in front of her as they passionately make out with each other, hands going places we don't need to know about.
Santana clears her throat as I speak up, "Just friends, is it?" I say amused.
"Um…" Carly doesn't know how to respond.
"It looks like more than a friendship to me because never once did I stick my tongue down Mercedes or Tina's throat" I point out.
"Were you two lying to us?" Santana smirks at them.
"Not lying because we are actually friends and that was all we were when we first spoke to you about it. We just didn't tell you when we did take the next step" Carly says.
"Yeah, friends but I guess girlfriends too now" Jessica shrugs.
"We have been asking all week about you two, why didn't you say something to shut us up?" I ask.
"We just needed to have this time on our own so we didn't want to tell anyone we're together and get embarrassed. We wanted to figure it out properly so we continued to say we were just friends so we could work on this privately" Jessica explains.
"Ok, fair enough" I nod.
"So…that was some kiss you girls had" Santana smirks.
"Was it?" Jessica laughs. "I just thought it was a regular passionate kiss" she shrugs.
"No, that kiss was really quite something. I'm kinda jealous actually because no one kisses me like that anymore" Santana teases.
"That is not true" I laugh. "We can still be very passionate. I mean it might not be as easy as before since we have kids now who are always around but when we do get time to kiss, we can be very sexy."
"When was the last time you lifted me onto the counter top and kissed me as your hands slid under my shirt to fondle my breasts?" Santana asks.
"Um…no one had their hands under anyone's shirt" Carly points out.
"Ok, you were feeling each other up on top of the shirt" Santana shrugs.
"No one's hands were near any breasts" Carly states.
"If your hand wasn't under Jessica's shirt then it's looking very creased and she needs to give it one hell of an iron" Santana smirks at the two of them.
"Look, whatever we did has stopped now so let's move on" Jessica says embarrassed.
"Ok, well my point is that it was some kiss and Britt doesn't do those things anymore so I'm jealous that we're no longer in that honeymoon stage of not being able to keep our hands off each other" Santana shrugs.
"Stop saying that because I do do those things" I laugh.
"When?" Santana challenges.
"Ok we may not have replicated that exact scene because I'm not allowed to touch your breasts at the moment but I still get super passionate with you" I tell her.
"If you say so" Santana teases.
"I admit these past few days I have backed off a bit since you're menstruating but it doesn't mean I'm not still thinking about you. I just know you don't like sex during this time so I don't ask" I shrug.
"Oh, I hear you Santana" Jessica nods.
"Yeah, I think a lot of women feel like that because of their period" Carly adds.
"Except Brittany, lucky bitch" Santana mumbles while playfully glaring at me.
"Ok I know I don't get periods but I still understand that you do so I try to help when I can" I shrug. "Although, to be honest you can't really complain Santana because you've not had many periods at all for two years since you were pregnant for most of that time" I tease.
"Oh, you're going to be in big trouble if you keep talking like that" Santana smirks at me.
"Yeah, I better stop now" I say. An unhappy Santana isn't something I want right now.
"Good" Santana nods.
"Anyway, back to what you were saying. If you want, I'll show you right now how sexy and fun I can be with you" I state confidently.
"Oh really" Santana challenges.
"Yes really" I say as I pick her up in my arms and place her on the kitchen table.
Before Santana can even get a chance to say anything, I've crashed our lips together in a passionate kiss. Just as she goes to pull away, thinking we're done, I gently slip my tongue into her mouth. We continue kissing one another as my hands reach down and squeeze her butt, causing her to moan in surprise. I can feel myself starting to get worked up and I imagine Santana feels the same given her reaction a second ago.
"Uh…that's enough" Santana pulls away, getting flustered.
"Mm…I don't agree" I smirk as I lean back in and steal a quick peck.
"No, really. We need to stop because goodness knows what I do next but trust me, it's not appropriate in front of an audience" she states.
"Ok" I smile.
XXX
Jessica and Carly have been gone for a while now so Santana and I got to spend some time with our children on our own after that. We had some dinner and then put the boys to bed. We're now just getting some more time to spend as a couple which is cool since it is so rare these days.
"Can I ask you a question?" I ask my wife.
"You just did" Santana teases me.
"You know what I mean" I smile.
"Yeah, so what's up?" she asks.
"Do you actually feel like I don't show you enough love these days?" I ask curiously. I don't think it's the case but I want to clarify.
"No, really I am joking" Santana smiles. "Although I do miss just being like that for no reason because a lot of the time now we have to schedule sexy moments. Sometimes it would be nice to just walk into a room and start making out but it's not possible with two babies in your arms and the fact you're exhausted all day."
"Yeah, I get that so let's try and do something to change it" I say.
"Ok" Santana smiles.
"Just so you are aware, I really love you" I smile back.
"I do know and I really really love you too" she says as she kisses my cheek.
"Speaking of love, how about Carly and Jessica. Are you glad they're together now?" I ask my wife.
"I mean it's not really my place to say who I think my sister should be with but I do have to say, I am really happy she's with Jess. I think I finally get how Carly feels about you" Santana smiles.
"Does your family like that it's me you married?" I ask proudly.
"Yeah, I mean like I say we don't get to have the final say in who we are all with but I am glad it's Jess for Carly and I think Carly is super happy you're with me" she says.
"Yeah, I've got to say, my family really like that we're together so it's all worked out well" I smile.
That's it for the chapter, let me know what you think.
