All right, let's find out the events that led to Daphne's predicament in the last chapter! Hopefully, it'll fill a few blanks... anyway, enjoy!
As far back as Daphne recalled, it was about three weeks ago, in the middle of a farm somewhere as Daphne had somehow separated herself from the gang far away, as she had stumbled into the corn field. She was feeling a little nervous as she looked around. She didn't even know how she got into this corn field in the first place. She remembered that she was sitting with the gang in the hay barn, investigating the Menacing Scarecrow that was haunting the farm and scaring away all the farmers and livestock, and whisking them away. Daphne recalled sitting down on a chair to take a break from searching, only to find herself being lifted downwards by the box as she gave a scream, finding herself riding atop a slide. The next thing she knew, she was seen flying out straight into the corn field as she landed on a very convenient blanket that seemed to be padded. Realizing that she had just stumbled upon a clue, she immediately went further into the corn field to try to locate the exit.
However, she had came across two problems. One, she wasn't sure where to go in this little cornfield maze, especially since all the paths were surrounded by corn. Second, calling for help seemed to be out of the question, for no matter how hard she tried, her yells couldn't give out an echo. This was a slight concern as she kept walking through the corn maze, trying desperately calling out for any of her friends.
"Velma? Fred? Scooby?" Daphne called out... before taking a deep breath. "Shaggy?"
She kept going as she took a deep breath, not letting the fear of being alone get to her wellbeing. She knew there would be a path out of the corn eventually. It was only a matter of time... all of a sudden, she heard the rustling of corn shuffling as she stopped short.
"Shag?" Daphne whispered as she turned towards the sound and came close. However, the hope that one of her friends had found her by chance had been completely dashed the minute she came eye to eye with the menacing scarecrow itself, the creature itself letting out gutteral roars.
"OH!" The red haired girl growled in anger. "Just my luck, having to run into a creepy ghoul like you! Get out of my way!"
With that, Daphne lifted her leg and swiftly kicked the ghoul, only to be sent backwards due to the scarecrow seemingly bouncing her backwards, causing the red haired girl to fall on her rear end. Before she could recover, a pair of hands grabbed Daphne as she got pulled close. Daphne closed her eyes in frustration as she tried to fight against the ghost that had grabbed her, but it seemed the Menacing Scarecrow had been clever by grabbing both of her hands and shoving her against the side of the decoy that was placed before cleverly tying her hands with rope. And kicking wasn't going to do any good as the ghost bound her feet with rope.
The girl could only give a groan as the next thing she knew, she found herself being carried like a sack of potatoes by the ghost as she was lead to a VERY small shed and tossed inside. The ghost could only give a loud roar before shutting the door, with a lock being heard. Daphne struggled against her bindings as she muffled through her white gag that the ghost happened to put on her... this was always the norm for her whenever she got captured, captured because she was pretty, and gagged. She often wondered what the monsters or people disguising themselves as monsters would do if she were never found and they kept her for themselves... she didn't want to think about that thought, and instead, tried to focus her efforts on getting out. As she tried to get out of her bindings, she heard a slight noise and gasped through her gag as she looked up.
"Well, talk about a strange coincidence." Shaggy chuckled nervously as he was seen peeling himself from the wall of the shed.
Her eyes lit up, happy to see her best friend as she muffled through her gag. Shaggy bent down and removed the gag from her mouth, before helping her get unbound. "Jeepers, am I happy to see you, Shaggy! But what were you doing in that shed?"
"Like, after you disappeared, we were worried the ghost got you, so we had to split up, like always, to search for you. Scooby and I sort of got separated part way when searching through the cornfield... and let me tell you, going through corn without a good sense of direction is not fun." Shaggy said as he unbound Daphne's bindings for her arms and legs.
"Tell me about it." Daphne laughed a bit as she got up as Shaggy looked her over.
"That ghost didn't hurt you, did he? I know you can probably take care of yourself, but... it doesn't hurt to check." Shaggy said as he looked over.
"Aside from being manhandled and caught by surprise by that creep, I'm all right." Daphne sighed as she held her head. "I do feel a bit cold, though..."
"Strange..." Shaggy frowned as he was shivering a bit. "This air does feel a little frigid... well, let's get back out. Maybe we can both find our way together..."
Daphne nodded as she reached for the door's knob... only to find no knob attached to the other side of the door. Daphne frowned as she tried to feel around the door's edges as she dug her fingernails and tried to pull the door open, only to find that a chain and a lock had been secured on the other side, making it impossible for the door to be pulled. "Shaggy, do you think you can charge through the door like you just saw the ghost? I can't seem to pull the door open!"
"No door knob?" Shaggy asked in shock as he looked over towards Daphne. She sadly shook her head. Shaggy looked nervous, before shutting his eyes and taking a deep breath. "Let me just visualize for a minute..."
Daphne paused as she backed up to the wall as Shaggy let out a loud, deafening scream of terror as he charged straight at the door and...
BONK!
Shaggy retracted from the door as he had hit his face on it as the tall, lanky teen held his face. "Owwwww..."
Daphne gasped as she ran over to her friend. "Oh, gosh, Shaggy, I'm sorry! Are you okay?"
"My face hurts, but I think I'll live..." Shaggy said as he quickly recovered from his dazed state. As the young man continued to rub his face, Daphne looked at Shaggy in relief as Daphne took a deep breath.
"Okay, so we're both trapped in a very small shed... and there's a chill in the air..." Daphne said as she put her arms around herself to try to keep warm. "It's too cold to think..."
"Like, there must be some reason for that cold air!" Shaggy said as he tried to look around, before noticing a small window that was cramped with an air conditioner attached to it. "Like, hey Daphne, we might have an opening! And I found the source of the frigid air."
Daphne looked over to where Shaggy was looking as she examined the air conditioner... before giving a sigh. "Think we can remove it?"
"It's a little high up to reach. I think one of us is going to have to stand on the other's shoulder." Shaggy said as he tried to reach up.
"Let me give it a try..." Daphne said as she started to climb up Shaggy's body, as Shaggy lifted up Daphne up in the air. Now, because Daphne was standing atop of Shaggy's shoulders, this gave Shaggy a bit of a free view from above, but being the gentleman he was, resisted the call as he leered over towards Daphne's face as she tried to reach for the air conditioner above the room. "Got it!"
Shaggy smiled as he held up his hand for a thumbs up. "Way to go, Daph!"
Daphne returned the smile upon hearing Shaggy's cheer, as she turned to focus on the air conditioner as she tried to feel around. "There's got to be a button somewhere... sheesh, this area is a bit dark, not enough moonlight shining to go by, but... if I can jus-"
She suddenly felt her body shifting as she gave a gasp. "Shaggy, hold still! I can't push the conditioner out if you..."
"I-I'm sorry, Daphne, but my legs are feeling a little... chilly, I can't hold out!" Shaggy said as he felt his legs begin to wobble.
"Shaggy, just hang on tight!" Daphne gasped as she tried to grab onto the air conditioner... only to see the sides of it being bolted to the window. "Oh, great! It's bolted shut!"
Before she could examine it any further, Shaggy's legs quickly gave out as he fell down, letting go of Daphne as he fell on his back. Daphne gasped as she fell down on Shaggy's chest, causing Shaggy to gasp.
"Owwww..." Shaggy said as Daphne got up and turned to him in sympathy. "Sorry, Daphne..."
"It's okay..." Daphne sighed. "I guess there's no way out of the shed..."
"Z-zoinks!" Shaggy yelped as he lifted his body up and gasped nervously. "Like, what if nobody finds us? What if we're trapped here?"
"Shaggy, calm down, please!" Daphne said as she gripped the young man's shoulders as his eyes looked into hers. "Listen to me, deep breath, calm down... okay?"
Shaggy listened to Daphne's soothing words as he took a few deep breaths as Daphne kept talking. "Listen... Fred, Velma and Scooby will find us... they always do. We won't be trapped in the shed forever. It wouldn't be right for them to just leave us behind. Finding out who that Menacing Scarecrow is will always be top priority for Mystery Inc. You know that."
"I... I know..." Shaggy said as he felt jittery... but that was more because he felt the temperature getting hot. "Weird... I think the temperature changed..."
"Is it?" Daphne asked as she noted the sudden change of temperature before looking up at the AC, which, by some miracle, had been turned off. "Oh. I guess it has..."
Shaggy felt himself sweating a bit as he pulled his shirt a bit and started waving it. "Like, do you feel sweaty?"
"Oh gosh..." Daphne groaned as she suddenly felt the heat coming from inside as she felt some sweat showing up on her dress. "Maybe we better take our shirts off for a while..."
"But... I don't know if..." Shaggy bit his lip.
Daphne sighed a bit. "It's way too hot, Shaggy, I don't really want to argue... I don't want my dress all ruined, it needs to be off! And besides, I know you're feeling hot in that green shirt... maybe just take it off for a little while until the heat dies down..." Daphne suggested.
Shaggy wanted to argue, but the feeling of the temperature was winning out, and Daphne's argument did give him some logic. Giving a sigh, Shaggy turned around for a moment as he started to pull off his shirt, with Daphne pulling off her green scarf before taking her arms out of her long sleeved purple dress before pulling it off over her head and tossing it aside, leaving her in a pink bra and pink panties, with her pink stockings still visible. She noted Shaggy still turned around as he was trying to avert his eyes. Daphne giggled a bit, noting his shyness. "Shaggy, it's okay to take a look."
"...like, I don't want to violate your space." Shaggy said nervously.
"It's okay. I mean, it's not like I haven't seen you shirtless before... and we went to the beach lots of times, and you saw me in a bikini then. What makes this time any different?" Daphne asked.
Shaggy opened his mouth to argue, before pausing as he contemplated Daphne's words. Then, with a small breath, Shaggy turned around as the two locked eyes with each other, before examining their bodies. Both of them blushed at the sight as they turned away.
"Like... you have a very beautiful body, Daph..." Shaggy said. "And I mean it, in the best way possible."
Daphne blushed deeply, before smiling. "And you're pretty hot... shirtless."
"Like, should I put the shirt back on?" Shaggy asked.
This caused Daphne to laugh as she came close to Shaggy. She didn't know what compelled her to do so, maybe it was the heat, or the fact that their bodies were so close to each other... but she had leaned over and kissed the boy on the lips. Shaggy's eyes widened as he felt a tingle in his lips, with Daphne touching his lips with her own. Sure, he had been kissed a couple of times, but only by his parents. This kiss was different... and somehow, to Shaggy, it felt right. This little heat of the moment continued to escalate as he kissed her back, surprising the girl as she gave a smile.
The two separated as they looked at each other with surprising, loving eyes. "Don't be so naive, Shaggy."
"Like... wow, Daphne... that was amazing." Shaggy huskily whispered.
"Oh, Shaggy... this heat isn't going to stop anytime soon... maybe we should try to hug each other tightly, maybe some of the heat will mitigate..." Daphne smiled.
"Are you sure?" Shaggy asked.
Daphne panted heavily as she looked at her friend, feeling weird and hot. "Please, Shaggy... this is driving me wild..."
Shaggy looked over at Daphne's eyes as he noted how intense they looked, how cute they were... for a brief moment, he could recall the promise he made to her as a kid to always stick together, no matter what. He gave a warm smile towards the girl as he held her tight.
"All right, Daphne... I trust you." Shaggy whispered as he leaned over for another kiss, as Daphne returned the kiss with pure delight... and the rest, to Daphne, was a blur...
Back in the present time, in the doctor's office, Daphne stared at the pregnancy test in awe as she looked at it, with shock. She gave a small gasp as she held her face. Sure, it had been three weeks since that fateful day, but... she didn't even think her time with Shaggy in the shed went that far. And now, here she was, standing in the bathroom, looking at the pregnancy test that said 'yeah, girl, you got knocked up'... and she knew who the father was...
"I... I don't believe it, I'm pregnant with Shaggy's baby..." Daphne thought as she held her head. "How am I going to tell him? Heck, what do I tell Velma, Fred and Scooby? What do I tell my parents?"
For a long while, Daphne stood there with a million questions in mind... but when a knocking on the door got her attention, she immediately shapped out of her funk.
"Daphne? Is everything okay?" Velma's voice sounded in concern.
Daphne hesitated as she walked over and reached for the doorknob, opening it. Velma stood at the door, looking rather concerned as she looked at Daphne.
"I was starting to get a little worried for a moment." Velma said as Daphne handed her the test. The bespectacled girl examined the test, before her eyes widened in shock. "Ohhhhh... well, I can't say I'm too surprised. I'm just more shocked that it happened quickly..."
Daphne took a deep breath for a bit, before turning to Velma. "What do I do, Velma?"
Velma sighed as she held her head. "Look, I think it's up to you what you want to do... but at the very least, you have to let Shaggy know. And don't deny it, the only logical person that makes sense is Shaggy. After all, when we found you two in that shed, you were BOTH wearing your clothes backwards. Fred may not have seen the bigger picture, but I wasn't really all that fooled."
Daphne could only blush with slight intensity as she looked up at Velma, looking rather annoyed. "All I'm saying is that, maybe you and Shaggy should talk this out and see what he wants to do. Who knows? Maybe this could be a life changing experience for all of us."
The red haired girl paused briefly as she felt her stomach for a bit as she looked down. She took a deep breath before sighing, realizing that Velma could very well be right. Shaggy would be coming home with Scooby in a couple of days, and besides, he DID need to know about this. She remembered long ago that Shaggy always said that he wouldn't mind raising a kid of his own, but that was when he was young. Who knows if his mind had changed since then...
Well, she figured it would be a wait and see...
And that's this chapter done! How did you guys like it? Next time, we'll be focusing on Shaggy as he is contemplating his newfound feelings for Daphne, as he and Scooby are arriving back home in Coolsville. How will Daphne and Shaggy share everything when they reunite? Well, let's wait until the next chapter is out, shall we? Anyway, read, review, criticize and suggest, folks!
