Walking through the streets of Vale, Ulysses shuffled through the notes he took on Vale and its underworld. Some things remained constant; Government corruption, gangs in the seedier parts of the city, and underfunding of certain vital infrastructure, all the same regardless of where they are. There were some things that he took note of, mainly the shrinking White Fang presence and the criminal elements moving in to take its place. The poor fools in the White Fang don't even realize how cruel the Wasteland can be, how horrid the land itself can be, he had warned Six about the White Fang and their plans but the Sovereign of Vegas said he had a plan for it. What that plan was, he didn't say.
Ulysses stopped as something caught his eye, someone was watching him.
The figure darted to a back alley, not fast enough to escape Ulysses' gaze. Ulysses stuffed his notes into his satchel and prepared to follow his stalker. He took careful steps, allowing his senses to guard him as he made his way down the alley. His eyes scanned the alley, taking in every detail and noting any escape route that could be taken. The alley was empty, not even a stray crossed his path as he made his way further in.
Then he heard something, the sound of a shoe touching the concrete behind him.
With little hesitation, Ulysses drew a bowie knife from his belt and turned to face his stalker.
Only to find his assailant had scaled up the wall, his shoes disappearing just as Ulysses caught sight of them. He let out a huff, sliding his knife back into his belt as he watched his foe disappear. He began moving back out of the alley, making a mental note to be far more cautious in the future.
Illia checked her bag as she made her way through NCR immigration. She had been given a special mission by Sienna, one far different from many of her brothers and sisters in the White Fang. Long-term infiltration, aided by the fact that she was one of the "Unlisted" White Fang members, would see her spend the next few years in the NCR. She had already passed customs, narrowly making it due to the "lack" of connections to the White Fang.
It was aggravating, that they would already discriminate against Faunus despite never meeting them.
She hefted one of her bags over her shoulder while holding the other under her pit. The funds granted by the Fang to aid her mission were enough to afford a ride on an "Airplane," whatever that could be. It didn't sound like a form of airship unless the class of vessel was called the Airplane. She glanced down at her ticket before glancing back at the clock on the southward wall. Her flight would be in a few hours, she might as well take some time to explore the shops on this side of the airport.
Looking through the binoculars, Cooper understood why Molvdover wanted Brotherhood of Steel dealt with. It seemed the destruction of New Shady Sands had spurred whatever was left of the Brotherhood in California to start moving. This site was now the sole base of the Brotherhood of Steel on the West Coast, with every member of the Brotherhood finally crawling out of their bunkers and consolidating here. The Air Force base they had dug into also bore a large fleet of Vertibirds and even a lone Airship hovering above it.
The worst part of it all was the presence of new "Recruits" who had been taken following the destruction of New Shady Sands. Groups of Kids, dressed in small cadet wear and scribe uniforms. They had spent almost a year in this base, and he could already see the Brotherhood rhetoric worming its way into their minds.
Redhawk wanted the kids returned to their families, but who knows how those kids would act after a year with the Brotherhood.
Cooper shuffled back, covering his form with the sand-colored cloak given for this mission, the air shook as a Vertibird flew overhead. He ignored the heat of the cloak as the Vertibird hovered over the airfield and began its descent. He fished a radio from his coat and put it to his ear; "Another Vertibird just landed, what's the count?" he called.
"With the latest one, that's a total of fifty-six," The caller responded.
Cooper put the radio back, scanning over the Air Force Base once again. Redhawk wanted to send them an offer, make them leave while returning the kids taken from New Shady Sands. With how much they've dug in, he doubts they'll leave without a fight.
Ruby rubbed her arm as she stood close to Pyrrha at the dance. Neither of them had any sort of invitation to join, no one wanted either of them for the dance. She knew that Pyrrha had someone in mind, but he was gone...
'Don't think of it, it's just like Mom all over again,' Ruby lamented as she took a long sip of her drink. Pyrrha had been going on with that weird theory of her's every other day. Weiss seemed convinced, being the one who had brought it up in the first place. The rest of them, not so easily.
'Stop, no more, this is a day to ignore that,' Ruby gave her cheek a light slap as Pyrrha turned to her. Pyrrha gestured to her left, drawing her attention to the irate Weiss approaching them. Ruby dropped her drink cup, rushing over as she saw tears running down Weiss' face.
"Weiss, what happened?" She asked.
"Neptune..." Weiss drawled out as she pointed out to the dance floor. Ruby could see the blue-haired Minstral student was talking with another girl. Ruby said nothing, only wrapping her arms around Weiss.
"I think we should get you some fresh air," Pyrrha chimed in. Weiss nodded as Pyrrha took her arm and guided the two of them out of the dance hall. Neither resisted as they stepped out of the doors and onto a balcony.
The air of the night was cool as Ruby held Weiss in a comforting hold. Pyrrha gave them space, only looking out to the night sky.
"Thanks," Weiss said between sniffles.
"It's what besties do," Ruby replied.
"So, do you know why Neptune cheated on you?" Pyrrha asked.
"No, one moment we were laughing together then I suggested a dance," Weiss said before her face turned bitter. "He walked away, saying he was getting some drinks," Weiss now had a strong glare. "I waited, then I went to look for him," Weiss stopped as she grit her teeth. "He was flirting with her, sharing drinks with her, he..." Weiss trailed off as she clenched her fists.
"Let it out, we'll make him regret it," Pyrrha said.
"No, I will make him answer, but not tonight," Weiss replied before she took a deep breath.
"Come on, let's just stay here and wait it out," Ruby offered.
"I would like that," Weiss said as Ruby let go.
The Three of them stood in silence, the dance itself now nothing more than background noise.
Then Ruby noticed something, a figure running across the roof. "Did you guys see that?" she called out.
"See what?" Weiss inquired.
"Someone just ran across the roof, they were heading for the CCT," Ruby said while pointing to the roof. Both of their gazes followed her finger, narrowing as they saw a shadow run for the CCT. Weiss scowled as the three of them turned to one another.
Nothing was said as Ruby and Pyrrha pulled out their scrolls.
"Before we do this, I want you two to promise to help me deal with Neptune tomorrow?" Weiss asked.
"Gotcha Bestie," Ruby replied while Pyrrha nodded. Weiss pulled out her own scroll as Ruby and Pyrrha's lockers landed nearby. Ruby and Pyrrha began the chase as Weiss' own locker landed nearby.
Six leaned back as he looked out at the city of Argus, a weight now free from his shoulders. His family accepted him, despite how he had changed, his family still accepted him. Sure, he'll have to give them a tour of New Vegas one day, but that was a long time in the future.
Though, he still has to go to Beacon to drop the news.
He still isn't sure how Ozpin would react to it, much less his old team.
He'll only know when he meets them, so why wait?
He had the Followers send a message to Ozpin, requesting a private meeting within the week.
Now all he had to do was wait for a response.
