Thanks to Ally R. Swan and TheTDGandTBRfan for reviewing.
Hello everyone. Here comes Candi-Rose's chapter. I hope you like it.
I haven't finished any more stories since that last time I updated. However, I have posted one new story and a number of oneshots. So I guess the simplest way to do it is to just list them. And I hope someone out there naybe finds one about a fandom you like.
-I'll tell you I'm fine (but I'm actually not) is for Katie and Alexa. It was supposed to be a oneshot but when I came up with the title I figured I should make two chapters more. So the chapter that's already up is about when Alexa gets ill and her parents decides to take her to take her to the doctor's. Then there will be a chapter about when she gets the diagnosis and one about when she starts treatment.
And oneshots…
-Reunited, was a oneshot I wrote in school for lord of the flies about ten years ago. I thought I'd lost it but then I found it again published on another page and decided to sort it out a bit and post it here.
-Happy birthday to you for once upon a time, birthday gift for Ally R. Swan and about Lucy being there for Hope's first birthday, and even though she's got her own dad and loves him she's jealous of how many milestones and birthdays he missed and he has to come up with something.
-Different birthdays, late birthday gift for Dark Heart 945 and for 13 reasons why. About Olivia Baker standing on top of the statue of liberty on what was supposed to be Hannah's nineteenth birthday.
-Drowning with love, for glee. Written in memory of Naya Rivera when she disappeared and then was found dead. About Santana and Brittany taking their kids to the beach one day. And things are great and fun, then they take a turn for the worst.
-A new type of music, for if only (a movie that I love) Nine months after the movie is set Samantha is giving birth. And what hurts her the most, way more than physically is that Ian isn't there to be a part of their child's life.
-Nobody said it was easy (Take me back to the start) for everything, everything. About why Pauline decided to lie about Maddy having SCID and things it has led to during different points of Maddy's childhood.
"Phew" That was all.
In all of that I hope you find something you like, and if not then I hope you at least like this one.
Candi-Rose has said some different things about where her parents are. And that in fact might be implying that none of the versions are true… Anyway, let's go.
I'm sorry for the racist talking and slurr's. I wrote it to suit the storylines. I'd never go around and say things like that- and I wouldn't ever think of it neither. I decided to still write it in character but if anyone wants me to change it I can.
Courtney "Candi- Rose" Smith
It was quite ironic how Danny Smith worked as a cleaner…
In his own flat laid there broken glass bottles everywhere. There were dust all around and the electricity had since long been turned off, meaning the only light was during the days when it came from the windows.
And it was quite weird how of a nice person he was at work. Because no one could have understood what kind of monster he turned into at the moment he walked up the stairs in the apartment building he lived with his daughters.
And their mum of course… well, of course they had a mum. But since the last six months she hadn't taken a step over the threshold…
Not after the time Poppy Smith's body, wrapped in a floor matt, in the middle of the night while Lauren and Courtney laid sleeping in their beds, had been carried into the car, where Danny had stuffed her into the trunk and driven to the outskirts of town…
The girls had never found out where their mother was.
Poppy was one of two reasons the girls even had for any hoping and happiness. But now they hadn't seen her for months and Danny refused to even let them outside the door they just looked towards the door in the house and the unlocked windows, they couldn't do anything.
What if they did and Danny was let out and would come to find them?
One fall afternoon Danny came home. Hearing his footsteps in the stairs of the apartment building they could always hear what kind of mood he was in. And hearing his slow, hard steps they quickly went into the bedroom. Lauren let her little sister crawl in under the bed first before she crawled in under it herself.
It was good it was a big bed, but still the both girls had to lie squeezed together not to show Danny where they were…
They always told themselves would let them be if he just couldn't see them. But knowing very well he knew where they were anyway they didn't move an inch while Danny dropped his things on the floor, went into the kitchen and got a drink and then went into the bedroom.
"You know what I really regret." Without greeting them, Danny said as he, pacing back and forth in front of the girls. "I regret… so bad marrying your mother… You see. When I got together with her. There was no one who said we would be a good couple. No one who said she was the type of person I would for one get together with. I always wondered what they meant. Now I think I know."
Danny kept pacing, he must know where the girls were hiding after all. And he didn't move from the room they were in. They always hid right under the bed and he'd only have to sit on his knees and look down under the bed and he'd find them.
"Marrying a n***er" he muttered to himself. "What was I thinking? How could I be so stupid I got together with someone like her… And as if that wasn't bad enough she had to give me two litlle girls. Girls that I never wanted… '
"I know where you two are. Now come out, come out. I want to show you exactly how much I don't want you."
Neither of the sisters moved an inch…
"Laaaaaaaaaaauren." He started, sounding more threatening by the second. "Laaaauren… Cooooortney… Why won't any of you show yourselves?" Laaaaaauren? Cooooortney?"
The voice of her father's speaking their names made shivers go down the young girls' backs. How they would never wanted to hear them like that again…
"Coooooooooortney."
"It's okay." Lauren whispered to her. "I'll go…"
"No."
It was only a whimper from the little sister. She didn't dare speaking out loud, even though Danny knew very well where the girls were he might leave them be if they stayed.
Lauren gave a meaning look into Courtney's eyes efore she crawled out into the room and stood up.
"Well hello…"
Danny sounded like he wanted to say more. But they were interrupted when there suddenly a ring from the doorbell ringing through the flat.
Danny made a pause…
"Did you even hear someone coming?" Lauren shook her head, whoever it was was lighter and had lighter steps than Danny because they hadn't heard anyone coming. "…Are you expecting someone? Because if you are then you know perfectly well what I think of it."
"I didn't. Honest!"
"You two stay in here." He said as there was another ring through the flat. "I'll take it. Don't make a noise…" They heard as the door opened. "If you're selling anything then you might as well leave. We're not buying."
"Hello." Lauren recognized the voice from the start. "My name is Delia Johnson and I'm your oldest daughter's teacher."
"Yes…" Danny sounded rude and tried to hide the bottle behind his back when he spoke. "I don't like teachers suddenly turning up on the doorstep. What do you think and what do you think my daughter would think about it? She does well in school after all."
"I know. She's one of the best in her class. But the girls haven't been to school in a long while. I just wanted to come over and see how you were doing."
"They're doing fine. Can you go now?"
"I'd like to meet them if that would be okay. The classmates of each of them all signed and drew each big card for them."
"Well no," the girls heard as Danny answerred the teacher. "It's not okay actually."
"May I ask you why…"
"No…" Danny sluddered slightly. "You may not. Now go away."
Tears had started streaming down Courtney's cheeks and she grimaced and bit her lip so hard it bled.
And Lauren just stood wheere she was and heard as her little sister started snivelling.
She didn't know much at this point. She just knew that as the older sister she was supposed to take care of Courtney…
If she only knew how….
There was nothing Lauren cared for as much as she cared for her sister. But Danny's fure, in case she said anything where she stood she was just as afraid of.
"And it's not like they have any school I need to send them off to. It's Halloween. They don't have any school to go to for more than a week. And that is if… they just have to stay home now."
"NO!" Suddenly Danny's voice was interrupted by his daughter's as she opened the door between the bedroom and the hallway. "No. He's lying. He's kept us home… I can live with you doing it to me. Okay? But I just can't stand hearing my sister crying. She's in there hiding underneath the bed. If you just take her with you, you can forget about me and all of this."
Courtney cried worse than ever, maybe she knew how much strength it took what Lauren was doing- maybe not. Whatever she felt about it it made her cry where she laid and gave a small yelp when someone she didn't know sat on her knees by the bed, having forced Danny out of her bed and looked to the younger girl.
"Hey Sweetie. Do you want to come out of there?"
Courtney didn't move from her spot. What she did see though, through the bedroom door that was wide opened now was her father- his expression looked half confused and half furious, as if he didn't know what on earth what to do.
Lauren didn't know what to do neither. She had kept her homelife a secret for so long, and she didn't know whatever to think about what
"It's okay." Suddenly Lauren sunk to her knees by the bed. "You can come out now."
Courtney still didn't move when her sister came visible to her. Courtney was only twelve to her sister's sixteen. But she could just as well have been a little baby or toddler when she whimpered the only thing that came to mind- the only thing she wanted to say after all.
"I want mum."
"You want your mum?" Danny slurred. "You don't know what I did to that, that… what's it called N-word something" He And you knnow what? I don't think you even want to know. I think it will give you nightmares."
And the three females knew exactly that whatever it was he was telling the truth.
"Come out." Lauren tried again with her sister. "Just come out of there. And I and Miss Delia will figure what we can do. Look- Court. There's nothing you can do here. You just have to do what we tell you to do, okay? Because, no matter what happens we're going to make sure you're safe. You know that right?" Courtney nodded. "Well. Come here."
Lauren reached her hand down under the bed and, not without hesitating Courtney took it and let herself half crawl half be pulled from under the bed.
Well standing up Courtney looked around- she'd expected that her dad would completely attack one of them. But he just looked surprised, and even if he had Miss Delia was standing with her arms over her chest like a protective wall between him and the girls.
"Look. I don't care what you do." While Courtney cried worse and worse and Danny looked like he was going to make the second murder of his life. "I don't care where she goes or what she does. I can stay here and I won't tell anyone about what I've been through… Just please, make sure my sister gets out of here."
Miss Delia looked from Lauren, down on the younger sister, to Danny and then back to Lauren again…
Ten minutes later the three females were watching Danny's hateful eyes as he was taken towards a police car.
Another, fourth female was standing ready to take notes, miss Delia had already told her version of the story and everything she knew. And it was time for the girls. But now when they were finally where they should have been none of them could get at last.
"I don't care…" The older sister said quietly at last. "I really don't care what happens to me or where I'll go… Just please make sure that my sister's safe. She's all I've got and she's way more important than me. So please…"
"You won't have to go back here sweetie." The policewoman said kindly. "However, since you've turned sixteen you're ought to be split up. And where either of you will be going now I do not know just yet. Just stay here for a moment."
The policewoman started talking to Miss Delia, and the girls watched as their father was taken out.
"What'll happen now?"
Courtney couldn't help but ask but Lauren didn't answer. She knew she had said something about what was going on to keep her sister safe- but now she wasn't so sure what to say or what to happen. Courtney kept crying and Lauren didn't say anything at all when she just wrapped her arms around her little sister's shoulders and held on tight.
There would be just another few days before the girls found out what their dad had done. Stabbed, and stabbed and stabbed with his knife into their mum's chest and how he had carried her out and pushed her into the trunk of his car…
But where Courtney looked around her, in all windows and in front of all doors were pumpkins and plastic monsters and ghosts.
Whatever kind of plastic monster, however nasty they looked…
Courtney had found out, and was about to find out that actual monsters came in very different forms.
Maybe in a form of a cleaner who seemed nice and enjoyable at work.
Courtney, twelve years old didn't know if she would ever see her dad again- she quite hoped she wouldn't have to!
Or did she…
After all. Danny was a much bigger monster than plastic masks with bruises and cuts. Or green and brown faces with crazy hair.
Or was he. Courtney couldn't know just yet while she krept into the back of a policecar alongside her sister.
Courtney was mostly confused. She did know her dad was a monster to her, she knew he had been like a monster to her sister and her mum, wherever she was. But except for that there were a whole eternity of things she just couldn't understand or know.
"Courtney…"
Even though it wasn't her father's voice, but from a policeman who needed her side of the story to be able to keep their monster away from Courtney, Lauren, their mum and even Miss Delia…
But she knew one thing.
Every time she heard her name it was like hearing her saying it.
And Courtney knew she never wanted to hear his voice again and she never wanted that name called. She'd hear his voice any time she heard it.
There had to be something else she could call herself…
I was thinking the mum might look like Taraji P. Henson.
Random fact
I do get that Halloween is an American thing mostly. But I figured since we even have them over here in tiny little Sweden it might work for Great Britain too and I hope it did.
