So… after we saw in the series, when Tyler's birthday is. Now this is my third try to make a chapter for him.

It will probably be quite similar to the first try I made years ago. But here it is.

Tyler Lewis once again

Seven-year-old Tyler was lying on hiss bed, wrapped tightly in his thin covers. At least trying to pretend that he wasn't all cold, and hungry and thirsty and everything all at once.

Tyler Lewis, along with his mother Sally Lewis lived in a flat in the town of Pottiswood in England. It was February month and thee coldest days of the year. And Tyler knew more than ever how Sally just didn't manage to pay all the bills she got.

Had she paid the electricity bill like she should, this place wouldn't be as cold and dark as it was. Because she'd forgotten it- months ago. The electricity had been turned off and with it heat and lights.

But Tyler, at seven years old knew there would be no point with telling his mum about the bills.

The last time he had tried reminding her she had been so upset, she had yelled at her son that what was it hurt fault that people wanted money?

Tyler just couldn't take that one more time. And with that electricity had been turned off.

Every day Tyler would ask Sally for a number in between one and ten. About how good she felt that one day. It was when the number she stated was a low one that it made Tyler want to get back into bed, pull the covers over his head and fall asleep. Maybe only drift away, sleep until the next day that would be a good one.

But it wasn't like he could just disappear from the world….

Poor Tyler!

He was only seven years old. And he didn't have a lot of friends- barely any at all actually. So how was he supposed to know that the things he went through weren't things a child his age should be going through?

Tyler didn't know that no other child asked their parent for a number like that. He barely even knew that other kids had two parent. And not knowing the second one only by name. Tyler didn't know that Sally needed more help than what he could give her. Tyler didn't know there were names for things his mum was doing and feeling…

Tyler didn't know that the life he was living wasn't one that a seven year old boy should have to live.

He just knew he didn't like it.

And he felt the knot in his stomach as he made himself ready to ask the morning's question. Then, before he had the time to get up he heard his mum get up and as good as dance happily to where she had her son.

"Today is a ten…" She almost sang. "Come on. Don't just lie there like a grump. Today we can go out shopping."

Sally blinked at Tyler. Tyler knew what "shopping" meant. And he never wanted to do it. He wanted to be like Scarlett in his class, who was always wearing new clothes. And constantly bragging about what her parents got for her.

But really, more than anything Tyler would have wanted a parent who cared for him. He did know Sally did but he didn't like the way she was doing it in. While Sally cared about him it must mean that he would care for her too.

And sometimes he was just tired of that.

"Now come on. Get out of bed and we can go outside."

Without talking Tyler turned in bed and wrapped his blanket tighter around him. He hated it those days that his mum wouldn't even get out of bed or talk to him. But the last year or two he had learnt to hate the happy days too.

"Come on. Don't be such a grump."

Without waiting for an answer Sally grabbed Tyler's blanket and ripped it off him. Tyler, who slept in a thin pyjamas shivered right away and tried to reach for it back. Even though he must have known that would never work in times like these.

"Come on. Get up. We're going to the toy store and then McDonald's."

Tyler would have liked to eat something first. His stomach was grumbling with hunger. But what could he do other than pull his warmest sweater and coat on and then follow his mum outside and down the street…

"Come on. Toy store first. That's what you like the best."

Tyler sniveled as Sally more or less grabbed him by the hand. He didn't want to cry. He was such a little boy with such a big heart. He wanted to do what his mum wanted him to do. But he also knew what it was to steal, and stealing was wrong.

And his mum always made him steal something when she was like this.

"Mum, it's Wednesday." He tried to lie. "I'm supposed to be at school.."

"Oh, don't even try it." Sally laughed. "I can keep track of the days. It's Saturday… Now…" Sally stopped outside of the toy store. "Here we are…"

"GIVE ME GIVE ME GIVE ME."

Before Sally or Tyler had the time to enter the store a woman- about Sally's own age left, holding onto a toddler boy who was screaming bloody murder.

Tyler didn't know that either, but the boy's name was Chester and with the screaming and crying, his parents took his sister and him to a toy store. And as if it could end any differently. The whole family probably knew that they'd go next week too and Chester would find something else that he wanted so bad.

The woman holding onto the screaming toddler was bright red in the face while she carried her son down the street while the people of Pottiswood were turning to see if someone was getting murdered. f

Then a man about the same age as Sally exited the store with a girl about Tyler's age, who was also crying like her brother. But silently and with tears rolling down her cheeks.

"I'm so happy you don't do something like that." Sally said. "It must be mortifying… Now come on."

Tyler didn't want to still, but Sally held him by the hand. And he knew what it would be like when she was like this. And he also knew that there were always people in this toy store. Kids with their parents. He had stopped a long time ago to find something he wanted, but little boys and girls like Chester always seemed to.

And they always seemed happy, and Tyler couldn't get why.

Some kids were like Chester, being carried out by their parents, screaming for candy, junk food or a new toy. Some kids were screaming for no reason at all. The parents never seemed happy either. Thy seemed stressed and some shouter. And if there was that beggar right outside on the street there would be people annoyed about that too.

And Tyler just didn't understand why so many people didn't seem happy. Especially not kids that always seemed to have their mummies or daddies. Or friends. They never had to be alone in this one big store, and always seemed to have money to buy the things they wanted.

Tyler never felt as alone as he did when he tried to hide from his mum, maybe if she didn't even think he was there she wouldn't make Tyler steal anything?

"Tyler! Look!"

Of course his mum found him.

"It's a magic kit. You know? I bet you've always wanted one of those. And I know that you know how to get it."

Oh yes! Tyler knew. But that didn't mean he wanted to.

Still, with every little piece of his seven year old self he watched his mum also taking some prank things that any prankster little boy his age would love…

"Well,,,,;" She said at last, helping Tyler put the magic kit- one of those Tyler had wished for since he could remember, beneath his coat and before she turned to some other shelves and took some small prank- things that she could hide in her pockets.

And, recognizing his own self-pitying he decided to just do as he was told. While Sally looked around them, then looked Tyler and gave him a small nod.

With it, Tyler started walking down the store's hallways, and with eyes hard set on the door he moved faster and faster towards it. He didn't see nor hear anyone around him, then as h was almost at the door all senses came back to him again.

"NO TYLER. WAIT."

Sally was only pretending as she yelled for him, and he only continued towards the doors like he knew he should. When suddenly another voice came through all other noises.

"HUBERT? We have a runner. SECURITY?"

"Who on earth names a poor kid Hubert?"

The thought about the name had only crossed Tyler's mind before he turned slightly. Then saw as someone, perhaps just another, regular costumer of the toy store had grabbed his mum and stopped her from taking more things for free. Causing her to also drop things- expensive things she had already tried to steal.

And Tyler had just no options but to know that this was it!

Everything just happened so fast, a security guard had come along, two of them actually. Things that Sally and Tyler had both tried to steal were taken, there was Hubert and somebody else named Celia. They were waiting, but Tyler didn't know for what until he saw a police car pull over outside the window…

Tyler only wanted to run away. Sure, the police wasn't here for him right? Could he be put in prison for only doing what his mum told him to? Or would she be in prison? She was a good mum after all. And he wanted nothing else than to be back in their flat with her.

At least that's what Tyler thought, he just wasn't old enough to understand that his mum was something else than any other?

If someone were to have asked him yesterday or any time before. It would seem so cool, cooler than anything else to ride in a police car. Now he wanted to get nowhere near it, and the policewoman that came over to him seemed so scary he almost had a feeling she would crush him with her own bear hands.

"Hello sweetie." She said, she had kind blue eyes, and her voice sounded soft and kind too. "My name is Charlotte, I'm a police. Can you tell me your name?"

Tyler only watched her for several minutes.

"Would you like me to explain more of what's happening?"

Tyler didn't need to now what was happening. He knew enough to see his mum being taken away from him.

"She's a good mum. She is!" He stuttered slightly, and ignored everything he had been feeling earlier. "But I have to take care of her. And you can't take me away from her because I won't be okay without her. I'm only a little boy and I need to be taken care of by my mum."

Tyler really was only a little boy, but how could he have known that he didn't have to be the one taking care of his mum?

And with everything else he didn't know. How could he have known how long it would be before they met again, when Tyler and Sally were taken further and further away from each other by the second?

Random fact

Well, this one really is very similar to earlier chapters. But still this one fits with Tyler's whole character. And I hope you liked it.
