Chapter 19: Talks and Dinners

I Only Own The Plot

AN: I read all of your reviews and I am so happy that people agree with me about Kate. I can't stand that character and I hate when others try to make her into a good friend. She is the worst character. We won't be seeing her much in this story, but every time we do she will not be a friend. She will cause more problems in the near future. Enough about Kate, on with the story! Read and Review!

All I could do is stare at her in shock. These were the last words I ever expected to come from her right now. I had planned on making a grand speech about how having a baby right now would be great because we are more than financially stable and we are in complete bliss with our marriage. We have had our disagreements, but they never go on for longer than a few hours and we never go to sleep angry. I think she is taking my silence as a bad thing, but I really am just in shock.

"I know we have only been married for less than a year, but I know we are ready to start trying for a baby. I want everything with you. I was working up the courage to speak to you about this topic for the past 2 months, but every time I would open my mouth I would chicken out. I had this dinner planned weeks ago, but Kate went and ran her mouth about basically trapping you with a baby and I almost called Gail and told her to throw everything away. When I can back home I sat in the library and thought about if I still wanted to do this and the answer was yes. I knew you wouldn't assume I was trying to trap you because you know me better than that. It just hurt my feelings for a little while, but I knew I still needed to talk to you about this. I can't wait any longer. I want us to have a little baby running around here naked while we try to catch him to put on his diaper. I want to take him to a park where he can meet friends outside of our social circle. I want the sleepless nights, the spit up, the blowout diapers, the crying for no reason," she says scrunching up her nose at the last two. It makes me chuckle. "I want it all Christian and I want it soon. So," I lean over to kiss her to stop her rambling. I knew if I didn't stop her soon, she would talk so much that she would end up taking back her words because she thinks I don't feel the same.

"Beauty, I have been working up the nerve to tell you the same thing. I practically wanted us to have a baby as soon as we got back from Greenland. I was going to wait for a year of us being married to bring it up, but I couldn't hold it in any longer. I was just telling Jason on the way home that I couldn't hold it in any longer. I want all of that as well. The diapers, the playdates, the sleepless nights, early mornings, the spit up, the lullabies, and so much more. I want it all soon too. I was so discouraged when Kate brought up that topic because I didn't want to pressure you. I want to go buy us a huge house on the sound that we can fill up with our babies and all of the pets we will inevitably get over the years. I want it now. So how about we ditch this dinner for now and practice making our baby," I say standing up and grabbing her hand. She is giggling the whole way as I lead her to our bedroom.

"Christian, I have to go off of the pill first, Baby. I also want us to get a checkup with the doctors to make sure everything is in working order. I've been taking the pill since I was 16. I want to make this process as easy as possible," she says once we reach our room. I pull out my phone to text Jason to set us up an appointment for tomorrow morning.

"We can go in the morning, Beauty. I am texting Jason right now," I say. After I am done with that I throw my phone on the nightstand and pick Ana up. I know she won't get pregnant tonight, but it is worth the practice.

****NEM****

I groan when I hear the alarm clock go off in the morning. We were able to get an appointment with Dr. Green for 7 am, which means we have to wake up at this ungodly hour after staying up all night. I roll over and reach for my Beauty, but my hand comes up empty and her side of the bed is cold. I sit up and that is when I hear the shower turning off. I hop out of the bed and stroll into the bathroom. I see Ana sitting at her vanity setting up her tools to do her hair. She is fidgeting and that can only mean one thing, nerves.

"Beauty, what's going in that mind. It's 6 am, too early for thinking," I say in her ear, wrapping my arms around her gently.

"You know, I love when you call me that. Beauty. I mean, sure people call me sexy, hot, gorgeous, but you call me Beauty. It makes me feel as if you can see into my soul. That you can see me below the surface," she says while looking me in my eyes through the mirror.

"I am just worried about seeing the doctor. It's just nerves, but you already knew that" she says smiling at me. I know her, she just needs time with her thoughts and not me hovering over her. She will only breathe lighter once we leave the doctor's office. That is just how my Beauty is, so I just smile at her and head for the shower.

Why do waiting rooms have to be so boring for adults? There is nothing, but to sit with your thought. This could be so depressing for people who are expecting bad news.

"Mr. Grey, the doctor will see you now," the nurse says batting her eyelids at me. I roll my eyes, stand, and grab Ana's hand to bring her with me.

"She can't come with you," she says with a huff.

"Look at your little clipboard again. You will see that this is a joint appointment for my wife and I," I say getting aggravated very quickly. She finally gives her clipboard a closer look and then mutters "follow me". I just sigh in return.

"Mrs. and Mr. Grey, my name is Dr. Green and I am so glad I was able to squeeze you guys in this morning. So, what can I help you both with today," she says and after an explanation of what we need, she began her tests on us.

"Well, everything seems in working order. Ana, you can just stop taking the pill and start trying to conceive. I wish you both the best of luck," Dr. Green stands and shakes both of our hands.

"Oh, Mr. Grey, your security detail watched as we flushed your sample and then poured cleaning products inside of the sample cup. No worries," she says and then quickly walks out of the door.

Ana turns and looks at me with a raised eyebrow.

"Beauty, there are some crazy people out there obsessed with me. Especially women. I have had women steal utensils that I have eaten off of just 'to have a piece' of me. Imagine what they would do if they got my sperm," I shudder at the thought. Ana throws her head back and gives a belly laugh.

"Thank you, Baby. I needed that laugh," she says reaching up to kiss me.

"I am serious! Our kids would have so many half-siblings," I shout and she laughs even harder.

"Come on Mr. Grey, we gotta go rule the world," she says pulling me out of the examination room.

After a boring day of meetings after meetings, I head to the floor below to pick Ana up so that we can go home. I want to get started on making our baby.

"Mr. Grey, Mrs. Grey told me to let you know that she is still in a meeting, but she should be done in a few minutes. She said you can wait here with me if that is alright with you," Hannah says.

"Thanks, Hannah. How have you been? Ana is keeping things busy down here I heard," I say while taking a seat.

"I've been great! Thanks for asking. Yeah, things have been crazy around here since the news of your marriage got out. Everyone wants to work with her now," Hannah says and we share a chuckle over that. Ana was telling me that all of these businesses think that getting in business with her means that they get into my good graces. I just shake my head at that.

"Hannah, I need you to read over this statement and then stay late to send it to the correct people," Jose says walking up to the front where we are sitting.

"Mr. Rodrigez, I can't stay late this evening. I have something really important to do tonight. I can come in a couple of hours early in the morning to get it done," Hannah says.

"Unacceptable. I want it done tonight. Cancel your plans and get it done, or I will inform Ana of your incompetence," he says sternly as if talking to a child.

"I am sorry, but I can't cancel my plans with my mother. I already informed Mrs. Grey of these plans and she said it was completely fine. If you leave it here, I will get it done in the morning," Hannah says more firmly.

"I don't care what she said. I told you to get it done, so get it done," he says slamming the papers on her desk.

I am fuming on the inside. This isn't my business to run. I pull out my phone to ask Ana to get here ASAP. Before I strangle him for talking to Hannah this way.

"Mr. Grey, I am leaving now. You can stay here and wait for Mrs. Grey, but I must get going," Hannah says ignoring what Jose said.

"I didn't dismiss you, Hannah! And he certainly doesn't dismiss you," Jose screams at her. This is completely unprofessional on his part.

"What in the world is going on out here," Ana's voice startles them both. "Hannah, what are you still doing here? You're supposed to be going to see your mother tonight," Ana says looking at them curiously.

"I was sitting with Mr. Grey while finishing some things up when Jose walks up demanding that I finish his work for him. He wants me to proofread and send out a statement that he is working on. I informed him that I could not do it right this second, but offered to come in a couple of hours early to finish it up. He said he was going to inform you that I was incompetent for not complying with him. I tried to leave anyway and that is when he started yelling," Hannah says in a big breath. She reminded me of Mia at that moment.

"Jose, finish your own work. I already informed Hannah that she could leave on time. Your words don't override my words. I am the CEO of this business, not you. We will set you up a meeting with human resources so that you can go over how to talk to employees. This is your final verbal warning," I have seen this look before, I almost feel bad for Jose. Almost. Jose nods and then storms off. Ana turns to look at Hannah.

"Hannah, you will not come in early tomorrow. I am so sorry for the hold-up. Have a great night with your mother. Give her a hug from me," Ana says hugging Hannah. Hannah leaves after a quick goodbye.

"You ready to leave," she asks me. I stand up and look around to make sure none of her employees are around.

"Sure, let's go and have an early dinner and maybe get started on baby Grey," I say while wrapping my arms around her and nuzzling her neck.

"We have dinner with your family tonight," she says. I immediately stand up straight and look her in the eyes.

"What," I ask.

"Grace called after lunch to see if we could come around for dinner. I told her that we would be happy to. I can call her back and reschedule. I'm sorry," she says in a quiet voice.

"Beauty, I'm not mad. Just caught off guard. I did see she called me earlier, but I was going to call once we got home. It's no big deal. We can head over there now and hang out with her until dinner. Carrick is usually gone until around dinner time, so we won't have to put up with him for too long," I say shrugging my shoulders.

"Okay, let me go get my purse and we can head out," she says pecking me on the lips and returning to her office.

Ana and I have been talking to Luke and Jason about us starting a family during the drive over to my parent's place. They are ecstatic about the idea. Well, Luke is excited about having a nephew or niece. He said he is going to pretend the baby got here through immaculate conception. We all laugh at that. We are still laughing at Luke's goofiness when we pull through the gate at my parent's home.

I see Carrick's car out front. I bet this was my mom's doing. She's been trying for years to get us on better terms. Never going to happen.

"Yo, Christian! Are you good? Your knuckles are turning white," Luke says.

"Carrick is here," is all I say. They all understand.

"We can go home," Ana says softly.

"No, this had to happen sometime. It might as well be before you get pregnant. I don't want him or this situation to stress you out when you do get pregnant. Let's go," I say opening my door and getting out. I grab Ana's hand and help her out as well.

Let's get this show on the road.

AN: First, I want to apologize for the late chapter. I had complete intentions of posting it Sunday, but my husband kidnapped me for Valentine's day and asked me to leave my laptop at home. Second, a lot of you have asked about the relationship between Christian, Carrick, Elliott, and Mia. Well, the next chapter will hopefully answer your questions. There will be a little drama next chapter as well. A lot of you complain that I am too fluffy. There will also be a very zesty lemon. I promise to have the next chapter out by tonight or tomorrow night.
