Chapter 3

(10 minutes later, 1:25pm)

Kim and Ron walked inside Miss Tudor's classroom. Zita was sitting right near the window of the middle row. Sarah, as well as Ashley A and Ashley B, were sitting in the back row. Tara, Jessica, and Monique were in the row facing the window. Felix used the empty space to create a desk of his own from his power wheelchair. Josh was sitting in the front row. Three other students were sitting in the back row, eyeing Kim.

"So totally happy that I don't have class with her anymore for today!" Kim said, folding her arms while talking a seat at her desk. "I've had just about enough of Bonnie being the Queen of Rubbing-Stuff-In-My-Face.

Ron agreed, sitting down at his desk, "And I'm tired of being hunted down like a dog from the detention guys in G-Hall. They've been onto me for the last two weeks for lunch money that I owe them! And, as a threat, they stole one of my boxers last night and hung it on the flagpole."

"The one with your name written on the waistband by your mom?" Kim groaned.

"Yep...that one." Ron whimpered.

Kim said, offering him to be his bodyguard.

"Do you want me to teach them a lesson?

"No! No! I'll have take the punishment like the baby I am!" Ron whined, "Getting a wedge and a purple-nurple in the same day is never fun!"

"Don't worry, Ron! You won't have anything happen to you!" Kim assured him.

A few minutes later, Mr. Barkin entered into the room.

"Okay people! I am going to lead this class in the absence of Miss Tudor!" Barkin said, plopping down his briefcase.

"Wait a minute, Mr. B! What happened to her?" Ron asked while raising his hand.

"She suffered a mild concussion in the prop room a week ago when the skull from Hamlet fell on her head. I didn't press for for details on her current condition!" Barkin exclaimed the reason for the absence of the normal drama teacher.

"So what's on the agenda for today, Mr. Barkin?" Kim asked.

"The roles for Romeo and Juliet, which will count for 25% of your final grade, will be locked in on Monday once casting call concludes, Possible." Barkin explained, "I can assure you of that since you are the director guiding everything!"

"You can count on me, Mr. Barkin!" Kim smiled, "I'll make sure that everything is on track!"

"I like that positive attitude of yours, Possible!" Barkin said, giving a rare compliment without giving a smile.

"But what about me?" Ron asked, still raising his hand.

"Simple, Stoppable, you're going to be the tree in every scene holding the branches!" Barkin grinned at his personal whipping boy.

"Wha...why do I always have to play the inanimate object in every play?" Ron whined "I cannot hold it in for the full 2 hours!"

"Intermission time, Ron!" Kim said, "You can hold it till then!"

"But the bathroom audition is not tree-costume appropriately sized!" Ron pouted.

Kim sighed, "Can you stop pointing out the obvious, Mr. Complaint King?"

Barkin then intervened, seeing that the conversation between Team Possible was a waste of time, "Moving on, people! Once the play is complete, you will be graded by your performance...and the reaction of the audience."

"So we're looking at one chance, Mr. Barkin?" Kim asked.

"That is correct, Possible." Barkin said, "The date of the play will be February 22, exactly two weeks from today. Oh and also, I also noticed a smidge in front of your title. Lemme remove it!"

Barkin did remove the smidge of caramel from Kim's role on the clipboard.

"Ah, it is revealed that you are the assisstant director, Possible!" he grinned.

"What?!" Kim exclaimed dumbfoundedly.

"The play is actually going to be overseen by the Glee Three!" Barkin replied, pointing to three students in the back. "You're going to be taking orders from them!"

Kim gasped, "Oh no...not them! Anyone but them!"

Vance Ment, the only male of the trio, was a senior and stood around 5'11, 150 pounds. He had brown hair, blue eyes, and freckles on the cheeks of his face. He was wearing blue jeans, a black shirt and black sneakers.

Cara Van, the smartest of the three, was a junior and stood at 5'6, 119 pounds. Her hair was a straight blonde and green eyes. She was in a black dress and a purple top with black boots.

And lastly, there was Laramie Tara. Like Vance, she was a senior and stood around 5'5, 129 pound. Like Kim, she was wearing Club Banana dark denim baggy overalls with both straps hooked over her white cropped t-shirt. She was in brown hiking boots.

They all also had black berets on the top of their heads to prove that they were indeed a clique within the complicated ecosystem of Middleton High. It was the Drama Club group, a group of students that normally oversee any play that is staged on MHS grounds.

"These three wonderful students will be the ones directing the play and will make sure that we do not have a repeat of the stage-destroying incident like last time!" Barkin continued.

"That's right!" Cara said, pounding her fist in her hand! "We expect perfection! We expect conformity!"

"This version of Romeo and Juliet will be so perfect that even Shakespeare would approve!" Laramie agreed.

Vance barked, "So you'd better memorize your lines, word for word, you maggots!"

Barkin sniffed a little, "I just love those words coming out of their mouths!"

Kim sighed, whispering to Ron.

"Barkin may be over his head with this."
