Sooo I didn't think I'd be doing something like this but I got the idea after finding a couple of notebooks with some old ideas I wrote down years ago. But I was really inspired after working on the Legend of Fairy Tail, I had a lot of fun with the story and it made me wonder if I could apply some of what I learned over time and experience here. To that end, I tried to work out some different ideas. I was really surprised- I got totally into it-I was practically writing for hours. So I figured I'd give this a shot, here goes!

The group of Natsu, Happy and Lisanna were returning home after a recent job, Natsu's grin matching his enthusiasm. The reason for said emotion had everything to do with their new companion.

Blue eyes traveled around the street, curiosity evident as they took in everything. It didn't take long to spot the looming building up ahead, the Fairy Tail mark tall and proud for all to see.

''We're almost there!''

A few hours ago...

The three of them had been wrapping up a job taking care of bandits at a nearby town. Everything seemed okay until one of the enemies suddenly got to their feet and grabbed Happy, immediately pointing a knife at his hand.

''Don't move!'' Natsu froze in his tracks as Lisanna gasped. ''If you care even one bit about this damn furball, ya better listen or else he gets it.''

''Why you...'' How dare he threaten Happy?! He couldn't get away why with this!

Having been watching the pair warily, the bandit completely missed what happened next.

A magic seal flashed before a shimmering storm of golden light erupted underneath his feet. Caught off guard, the bandit was sent spinning into the air before he landed down with a thud. Happy immediately ran to his friends, all wondering where that came from.

The answer came in the form of a young boy flying in with a pair of golden ethereal wings on his back. ''Are you all right?''

''Aye, that was your spell?'' Thanks! That could've been really bad...''

''Yeah, thanks a lot for the help.'' Lisanna added. Natsu was about to add his own words of gratitude when something made him pause.

This boy...he was familiar. But why?

He smiled ''It was nothing. I just happened to see what was going on...'' Blue eyes flickered to Natsu's guild mark. ''...so you're all guild wizards?''

''Yup, we're from Fairy Tail!'' Happy informed.

They could see the recognition flash in the boy's eyes, which wasn't a surprise. Fairy Tail was practically infamous in Fiore. He was about to say something only to pause when he noticed the look Natsu was giving him, to his confusion. ''Ah...is something wrong?''

It was the scent that tipped Natsu off-it was a little different from what he remembered but it still enough for him to be sure. ''Chris?'' His response was three bewildered looks. ''I thought so-you look real different from before but you're Chris Sherwind!''

Happy looked between the two ''Wait, as in your old friend?''

But Lisanna noticed the boy's confusion ''Are you sure you've got the right person?''

Natsu's attempted response was unintentionally cut off by the boy ''That...was my old name but I haven't used it in so long. How do...''

His brow furrowed, a distant memory coming to mind. Of a boy who was surprisingly similar to the teen before, they'd apparently been near a bonfire...right...his name was... ''...Natsu?''

A grin ''Yeah! Man, it's been years-what happened to you?''

Something flickered across his face before they could make it out ''It's...a long story...''

''Then why don't you come join us for lunch?'' Lisanna suggested. ''We heard a bunch about from Natsu-it'd be nice to get to know you. Besides, you guys should totally should catch up.''

''Yeah, that's be great!'' Natsu beamed, the boy finding himself smiling back.

''Oh...ah, sure...''

The four went to a nearby restaurant and ordered their food, taking their seats then...

''So you said that used to be your old name-what do you go by now?'' Natsu asked, curious.

''Hope.'' The boy admitted. ''I...didn't think I could just keep using my old name anymore and my best friend suggested it.''

Natsu's first impulse was to ask why he made such a choice in the first place but they could see that the boy really didn't want to talk about this any further. Lisanna decided to move things along ''You look like you're used to traveling and judging by that spell, I'd say you're skilled. You seem pretty young to be on your own...''

''I guess so...'' Hope offered after a moment. ''...I'm eleven actually, we've traveled for almost four years now.''

Four years...? But that was when they met...so he'd set off shortly after they went their seperate ways? ''Wait, how come? What about your home?''

No one missed the boy stiffening at this, pain flickering in his gaze. ''I...don't have anything to go back to. This was for the best. We...met because of Igneel-san, right? Is he back in your home?''

''He...he disappeared years ago, I'm trying to find him.'' Natsu waved Hope's attempted apology off. ''Don't sweat it-you didn't know.''

Happy chose to ask something that had been bothering him for a while 'Natsu's the sort who's pretty hard to forget if you ask me-why does it sound like you're having a hard time remembering him?''

''...Because I really am.'' The three stared ''My magic...changed over the last few years. I almost died after a certain incident and it messed up my memories. I remember a few times here and there but I don't know how to fix that. It might be why I look different but I'm not sure.''

That did explain why he seemed so confused earlier. It had clearly taken him some effort to remember Natsu and Igneel.

''Sorry, I know we're friends but a lot of the time we spent together is a giant blur to me.'' Hope added.

Natsu didn't mind though ''That's plenty good enough. It's all because of what happened before Igneel found you, right? He never told me what what went down but...it must have been bad.'' Hope nodded, his gaze lowering for a moment. ''Then no worries-I'll tell you all you want to know!''

The boy began to smile, they talked for a bit before the food arrived. Natsu and Happy took to feasting with glee. Lisanna sighed in exasperation while Hope blinked twice ''You learn to go along with this-it's just best to not get between them and food.''

Looking at them now, Hope couldn't help but agree...

After they were done...

Hope blinked ''You want me to come with you?''

''It'll be fun, besides we want you to see Fairy Tail!'' Happy's statement earned immediate agreement from Natsu and Lisanna.

''You've been to a bunch of places but you've never gone to Magnolia, right? You should totally come, it's a great place.'' The girl added.

''Well...I guess that's okay...'' His lips quirked as Happy cheered at this. Hope had to admit he was curious about Fairy Tail, especially after meeting those three. They made it sound amazing.

''So you're a freelance mage, huh? What's that like?'' Natsu wanted to know.

''I don't think it's too different from what you do. I just decided to help people but before I really knew it, I gjust got used to that...'' Hope trailed off. ''...People really get carried away sometimes though-there's a few crazy rumors about me and it made a couple of guilds really try to convince me to join them.''

''Oh, so you're definitely really good.'' Happy remarked.

''Ah...well, I wouldn't know...it all just seems over the top to me.'' The boy returned. ''What's Fairy Tail like?''

Natsu grinned ''You'll see-I bet you'll like it!''

Hope stopped and stared at the colorful building in wonder. It seemed imposing, they could hear a lot of noise and happy chatter already.

''Come on!'' Natsu pushed the doors back and the first sight that met Hope's eyes told him that he had been right on the jewel. There were a number of people sitting at the desks, a couple of girls dancing before them-most were relaxing and talking to each other. A few were reclining at the bar and others seemed to be in some sort of argument. All in all, it made for quite a bustling hub of activity.

They were soon approached by quite a few people, a scarlet haired girl wearing armor, a dark haired boy with stormy gray eyes, a girl with blue hair and hazel eyes along with a somewhat buff teen with spiky white hair leading them.

''Lisanna! Was everything okay? Did those two cause you any trouble?'' He demanded.

''I told you we'd be all right, Elf-niichan.'' Lisanna ignored Natsu and Happy's squawk of protest. ''It's not like this is the first time we went on a job together. You worry too much.''

''We tried to tell him.'' The scarlet haired girl glanced at the new addition to their group. ''Friend of yours?''

''Aye Sir! He helped me out big time today.'' Happy informed. ''This is Hope-remember the old friend Natsu told us about? The one who helped him learn a bunch of stuff? That's him!''

A few of the listeners seemed intrigued by this and Hope found himself wondering just what they were told.

Had he really done such a thing for Natsu? He couldn't remember...

The white haired boy grinned ''Oh, so you met him again after all, Natsu? That's good news!''

''Right?'' The dragon slayer had been looking forward to seeing his old friend again, showing him Fairy Tail just made this all the more better. ''Hope, that's Elfman, Lisanna's brother. She's Erza and that Levy. He's Gray-they're some of our friends.''

''Oh, it's nice to meet you all.'' The brunet gave a small bow. Some of them seemed surprised but he had no idea why. Had he done something wrong?

The thought was dismissed when Erza and Levy smiled at him ''Likewise.''

''Yup, good to meet you!'' Levy added.

''For sure!'' Elfman chipped in.

Gray gave him a scrutinizing look ''You're definitely not what I expected.'' Hope blinked. ''You seem way too nice and well-mannered to be that Ash Brain's friend.''

''What was that?!'' Natsu scowled.

''What, you didn't hear? What happened to those so called good senses of yours?'' Gray taunted.

Erza's eye twitched in annoyance while others sighed. This was sadly an all too familiar occurrence. She was about to intervene but then ''Ah-there's no need to fight. Natsu was just telling me about Fairy Tail and I heard a bit about you guys too...this doesn't really look like any guild I've ever seen though.''

Levy smiled to herself, Hope didn't know it but he had saved the duo from a lot of pain. ''Oh, Fairy Tail's one of a kind. Come on, we'll show you around!''

They introduced him to more members. Hope listening with growing intrigue as they told him a bit about the guild's history and how the five founders started everything.

He'd also learned more about the days where he got to know Natsu-apparently he had helped teach the boy things Igneel couldn't help with. It was mostly things regarding society and every day life, as Igneel wanted Natsu to be true well rounded.

''Of course, too bad you couldn't manage to teach him manners too.'' Gray added while Natsu brought him up to speed. ''But hey, miracles are what they are because they're so rare...''

The boy growled in annoyance at this and in seconds, they were butting heads once again. Hope then learned that the fire and ice mages were often at logger heads. Most had simply learn not to interfere when they got into another of their spats. It had quickly become clear that trying to make sure they get along was an exercise in futility.

Cana held back a grimace as Erza proceeded to bash the duo on the head, immediately beginning to lecture them. ''Well, that was bound to happen...''

''Aye, you'd think they'd learn by now.'' Happy mumbled. After all, their squabbles just continued over time and all of it always brought them nothing but trouble.

''Now that would actually be a miracle.'' The brunette returned flatly. ''I can kinda see where Gray's coming from though...Hope's definitely a surprise.''

They soon saw a white haired girl sitting imperiously at a nearby desk, smirking as a few members nearby recoiled at the sight of her. She seemed to enjoy bossing them around. ''Wait, she looks a lot like...''

''Like Lisanna? That's her big sister, Mira. Careful, she's every bit as mean as she looks.'' Happy warned. Now that was a case of the differences being night and day.

Erza went to help those who were forced to deal with the white haired girl. They couldn't really hear what was going on but soon, the girls began to fight. Hope wondered how it lead to this. ''...I thought she was just talking about how everyone should be getting along.''

Gray snorted ''Yeah, hypocrisy at its finest, right? Erza and Mira are always like this-you've just been introduced to the two biggest she-devils of Fairy Tail.''

The boy had no idea what to say to that, though he quickly figured his assessment of the guild to be accurate. It was certainly one colorful place...

Hope was thrown for a loop to learn that fights were all too usual for this guild. Heck, despite the general attempts to enact peace-there was simply no changing this fact.

''So how are you holding up?'' Lisanna sat next to him while a few of the others fought at the other end of the hall. ''I can imagine this is pretty overwhelming...''

''Yeah...but it's a nice place...'' Hope admitted. They had really been welcoming and quite a few already treated him like one of their own simply for being Natsu's friend. That felt really good...

''Glad you like it. Oh and sorry about Mira-nee. She's not a bad person, I promise. Just...it's hard to explain...'' Lisanna began awkwardly.

Both thought back to the encounter with the aforementioned girl just a few minutes ago. She had merely dismissed Hope out of hand and the boy could see what Happy meant about her-she was certainly...abrasive. If anything, going by what he had seen earlier he was just relieved that was all what happened.

''It's all right. Well, like you said this all is a bit much at once...'' Hope's eyes fell on Natsu, who had gotten dragged into the fight earlier. ''...it was a nice surprise to see him again and...even if I barely remember him, he still considers me a friend. That really means a lot.''

Lisanna had a feeling there was more meaning to his words than it seemed ''Well, Natsu wouldn't hold something like that against you-he's just glad to see an old friend again. You guys really didn't hit off well at first but he says most of that was his fault, he also said you really came through for him more than once. You really took him by surprise when you offered to help him with Igneel's lessons but he was touched. He was really looking forward to showing the two of you to Fairy Tail.''

So that was what happened? Natsu had mentioned something of the sort on their way here but it was nice to have the information clear. The guilt that he could hardly remember any of those times wasn't going away soon and it was a relief to know that Natsu wouldn't blame him for it.

''Oh hey, Master!''

Lisanna's voice snapped him out of his thoughts, bringing his attention to the old man approaching them with Levy and Happy in tow. ''Ah, there you are.'' His smile was warm ''I'm Fairy Tail's guild master-Makarov Dreyar. Happy was just telling me about what you did, child. Thank you for helping him.''

''Oh, you're welcome, sir. I'm just glad I could help.''

''You know, Gray for all you said about Natsu's manners...which I admit was true...'' Happy amended. ''...you do realize you're naked, right?''

The boy stiffened ''Dammit, not again!''

Makarov rolled his eyes as Gray searched for his clothes, Hope looking on curiously. Did that really happen so often?

''Say, Hope-I've been meaning to ask...'' Levy started. ''...you guys said something about guilds trying to recruit you but judging by the look on your face back then...was it that bad? I mean, it's a good thing-they must see your potential.''

''I guess so...it's just that a few of them were forceful. They might be overestimating me, I trained a lot while I traveled and I helped some people along the way. Before I really knew it, people started calling me the White Paladin...''

Happy couldn't help his surprised yelp, Hope staring at him in bewilderment. Gray looking equally dumbfounded ''It was you all along?''

''You've heard of me?''

The White Paladin was a mage that had recently rise to fame, known to be a kind and generous soul, one who helped people in many places. He'd hardly asked for much, even sharing some of the fruits of his work with those in need. It was believed that the entire reason he even became a free lance mage was that he simply needed his own income to make it out there. There were varying rumors about his age but the most persistent ones kept calling him a child. Many had been skeptic about this but it seemed he really didn't like the limelight as he tended to avoid it as much as possible.

They'd certainly hadn't expected to run into him now, any doubts they might have had where gone with Hope's genuine curiosity and confusion. There were absolutely no signs that the boy was lying. And his description did actually fit some of the stories...

There were hardly any descriptions about him but it was well-known that he was clever and skilled. He was also said to be a twin blader who primarily employed light magic but also made use of memoria magic. (Memoria magic was a special type of time mage which some people are born with. They were known as Memoria Templars.)

''You don't even know how famous you are?'' Happy questioned, the boy only shaking his head.

Makarov wasn't too surprised though, the name rose to prominence recently. Happy's reaction being equally understandable, they had heard quite the stories abut Hope. ''Well, that's impressive. I honestly thought you'd be older.''

''I get that a lot...'' The boy waved a hand. ''...some of what they say really is too exaggerated. I just did what I thought was right.''

''Well, modesty certainly is a good thing but I'd say you're undermining your achievements.'' The guild master assured. ''I admit, I'm curious-even Natsu was surprised when he heard you changed your name. Any particular reason?''

He instantly regretted the question the moment it left his lips, for Hope seemed to withdraw a little into himself ''Well...a lot's happened-I just decided it would be for the best. I kept my last name but I haven't really used it in a few months now.''

''Really now?'' Makarov thought he heard the name from Natsu but he couldn't quite recall...''What was it again?''

Hope idly noticed a few of the other members of Fairy Tail walking over ''Sherwind.''

Recognition flashed in Makarov's eyes ''You're a Sherwind? Wait...and you use Memoria magic like the rumors say?''

Puzzled, Hope confirmed as Gray gave the man an odd look ''What's up, Gramps?''

Levy's brow furrowed ''Hey, that name sounds familiar...''

''It should-I'd imagine at least quite a few of you have heard it at one point.'' Makarov looked at Hope as he went on ''Our guild was founded by the great Fairy Tactician Mavis Vermillion. She was supported all the way by her closest friends, Yury Dreyar, Precht Gaebolg, Warrod Sequen...and Ryner Sherwind.''

Hope's eyes widened at this news, did that mean...? ''Lord Altair was a member of Fairy Tail?''

Ryner Sherwind, otherwise known as the Lyrian Altair, was a renowned hero who saved the world many years ago. He was also the central figure behind shaping Aetheria (the ancestral home of Memoria Templars) into what it was today. He was a figure admired by many and they came to address him respectfully, Hope himself, included.

''Technically he never got to join because of his circumstances at the time.'' Makarov explained. ''But he was those four's closest friend and he did a lot for Fairy Tail. Given all that, he's widely considered as if he were a member of the guild.''

Erza looked curious ''And you think Hope is related to him?''

The boy himself was more than a little thrown off ''That's...the only name I ever knew before...everything...I never thought...''

Hope hadn't really given his last name much thought in quite sometime. He barely even used it anymore after that incident a few months ago. Could he really be related to the Altair though? Someone like him? That seemed really hard to believe...

Although...Hope's hand drifted to a certain item hidden his shirt...did it have to do with why he had it all this time?

Makarov went on ''I've heard that there are only a few Sherwinds during the recent years but there were a few strange stories surrounding that. It's only something I heard because of the council but apparently, one of the Sherwinds was brought to Fiore almost six years ago by a prominent man high from Aetheria.''

''...Because of the civil war, right?'' He nodded, Hope's expression one of clear discomfort ''I...that's why I was in Crocus...that person found me lost and all alone. He said I had to stay with Uncle To-'' Hope held back a wince. ''-his friend for now...''

Elfman asked the obvious question ''Wait, so why didn't you?''

No response. As much as Hope liked them, he couldn't bring himself to talk about that. He'd never told anyone what really happened back then and certainly wouldn't start now.

Makarov seemed to pick up on this ''Do you think you'd recognize the man if we show you a picture?''

''I...maybe...'' He rubbed his arm, unable to help the questions swirling in his mind. ''...do you...um, would happen to know if...if he ever came back?''

''No, but I can ask.'' Makarov immediately assured. It was easy to see how big this could be for Hope. The guild master was already forming suspicions, he didn't even get around to specifying that the boy was sent to Crocus to stay with none other than the king himself. And Hope had clearly known...the boy seemed to vanish after those days and no one knew what became of him.

This was no mere coincidence, the boy's shock and clear distress were far too genuine. The familiar manner of address back there and that reaction to Elfman's question...Hope had been traveling since he was no older than 7 years old...all of this spoke of something terrible...

''Tell you what, kiddo, I'll look into this.'' Hope looked up ''It wouldn't be too hard, I've built up some contacts after all these years. Someone's sure to know a thing or two.''

Truth be told that sounded great but...''If it's not too much trouble...?''

''Don't worry about it, I'm glad to help. Besides, I'm pretty curious about this too. I'll get to the bottom of this.''

''...Thank you.''

Things went on to a lighter mood after that as Natsu and the others decided to show Hope ways they had fun around here...

They were working on a magic puzzle game with Levy but it proved to be complex enough to confuse quite a few of them. Gray frowned put up a piece aside ''How does this even fit...?''

Now Levy handling her end well was no surprise but Hope seemed to do a good job keeping up with her. The two had clearly hit it off, Levy was telling the boy about a magic theory she had read recently. While didn't quite follow everything with the unfamiliar terms, there was no denying his interest.

''Oh, Gray. Put that one over here.'' Levy gestured to an empty spot at her far left.

He proceeded to do so, blinking when he realized it was the right place. Soon, they wrapped it up and the puzzle produced a nice picture which gave a subtle glow. ''Hey, not bad. So, Hope, you actually read up on this magic theory stuff?''

''Not nearly as much as Levy-san but I did pick it up...I've had to look up some information to keep learning about my magics.''

Well, that made sense. While he had been taught magic when he was younger, Hope had admitted to learning more over self-study and training through his travels.

''Hey, you don't have to be so formal.'' The ice mage chided lightly.

''Yeah, we're all friends here.'' Levy added, earning a nod from the boy.

Cana showed him how she did fortune-telling with her card magic. She had predicted good luck in Hope's future but warned Elfman to be wary as trouble awaited him soon. Elfman had been skeptic of that but she was quickly proven accurate as he bumped into his older sister and Erza in the midst of another squabble, which wound up with him smashing into a wall.

''And that's why you don't doubt my predictions.'' Cana crossed her arms, smug.

''Is...he all right?'' Hope had to ask.

''Oh, he'll be fine-you've seen an example of the brawls. We're used to worse stuff on a regular basis.''

Elfman once again proved her right when he quickly the blow off ''Hey, who did that?!'' His ire was quickly transformed into fear when he saw the answer, making him quiet down at once.

They were joined by Natsu and Happy, who had another game in mind. Natsu paused as they got ready, remembering something ''So hey, you still have that old treasure, right?''

Hope nodded, half expecting him to have known about it by now. He took out a necklace from under his shirt. The bail held a round, silver pendant. It was shaped like a circle with a star in the middle, there were also four crystals attached on the sides. Oddly enough, the areas were the stones should have been were almost all empty with the exception of one.

Calling it a treasure may be a bit of an exaggeration but Hope had always known this pendant was important. It was just a feeling he couldn't shake. The item was definitely special-it had protected Hope in the past. He couldn't be sure as to why but it had been with him for almost as long as he could remember.

''You found one? Cool!'' Natsu still remembered seeing this the first time, how it had stung him when he tried to touch it once. Igneel had stated that it was important but both were admittedly baffled that it was missing these pieces. But he knew it was as important to Hope as Igneel's scarf was to Natsu.

Erza looked on with interest ''So what's this about a treasure?''

''Oh, I've...just taken to calling it that.'' Hope touched it. ''I've had it for so long but I can't remember why. Even its magic feels so familiar, it's always helped protect me.''

''Great, but it's way too much sometimes...'' He gave Natsu a quizzical look ''...I wanted a closer look a couple of times but it kept stinging me. Igneel said it had really strong magic even when it's this weak.''

Erza noticed the empty parts with the shard in the middle, concluding that it had to do with those. She had heard of such treasures, artifacts of mystic powers from times unknown, not just anyone would possess them. Perhaps it lent credence to their growing conclusions about Hope's origins after all...

Happy was about to call them over when he heard Natsu cry out ''What do you mean you don't want to join us?!''

''It's not that...'' Hope tried to explain. ''...it's like I said, I'm not really sure I'd fit in a guild. I just...haven't really thought about it much until a while ago.''

''Forget already? He did turn down a bunch of guilds before, genius. Why do you think that would change all of a sudden?'' Mira reminded dryly.

Natsu's immediate retort was that they were far better than those guilds only for Hope to speak up ''I'm not saying no...I just want to think about it.''

''That's fair.'' Erza spared Natsu a pointed look as she added. ''No one has the right to force your decision-what you make of this is up to you.''

''Exactly. We'd love to have you but in the end, it's your call.'' Makarov added, earning agreement from those nearby.

''Right...'' Hope did like Fairy Tail, it was a warm place with many kind people. It was just...he had reservations that he couldn't shake yet. He wanted to really think about his choice.

Natsu seemed to understand that he needed more time, even if he didn't like it. Happy flew over ''Come on, don't worry about it so much. We were having fun, remember? We're waiting for you guys!''

The boys shared looks and slowly smiled at this before following the cat...

Hours later, when everyone made to retire for the night. Hope had intended to go to an inn only for Natsu to suggest inviting him over. Many had shot the suggestion down, declaring that his house would definitely not work.

The near unanimous agreement baffled Hope ''...What is his home like?''

''It's a dump.'' Cana informed bluntly.

''Hey!''

''Who do you think you're kidding? Heck, even calling it a dump might be nice.'' Mira deadpanned.

Lisanna smiled awkwardly ''Sorry guys, but they're right. We've seen your attempts at cleaning, remember?''

''Attempts being the key word here...'' Her sister stressed.

''Then he can come to my house, I've got room to spare.'' Makarov suggested. ''No sense letting you stay at an inn when this work better, right?''

''Oh...'' Hope glanced at Happy and Lisanna, who nodded encouragingly. ''...sure, thank you.''

A short while later, the boy was about to follow them with the guild closed for the night. He closed his eyes for a moment, focusing his thoughts as he continued walking 'Are you sure you don't want them to know about you? I think they'd understand-it worked out before.'

'Maybe...' A voice echoed in his mind as a silhouette of a golden bird with a sharp amber eyes and colorful tail feathers appeared next to him. '...I won't deny that they seem like good people but perhaps another time.'

Hope gave a small smile at his best friend. He was the cautious sort who didn't trust others easily so this reaction was understandable. The bird came closer as he carried on 'You certainly seemed to be having a good time-are you really considering their offer?'

'They were really nice and the guildmaster's even willing to help with...what he said before.'

'That was certainly unexpected.' He nodded, knowing he was thinking of Makarov's reasoning from earlier. 'It all does fall into place-what the guild master mentioned meshes with plenty of what you told me.'

'Yeah, I guess so...' Hope paused. '...I really had fun with them. It did feel like I could really find a place to call home again with them. But...after all what happened...I wonder if it's just wishful thinking...'

The bird more than understood-perfectly aware of the boy's reasons for this apprehension 'It's all right. You did promise to visit again after. The more you get to know them, the easier it can be for you to choose. I'm fine with what you think is best-just take your time.'

Hope spared him a grateful look 'Right...'

There was no denying that Fairy Tail had made an impact on the both of them, for more reasons than one. When he thought about it, Hope knew he was looking forward to getting to know more about this guild.

Well, let's stop here.

I actually feel better about this than I imagined I would but what do you think? Sorry if it's a bit of an info dump at once but I thought this stuff needed to be said. I intend on really changing things up after all. For those who read Fairy Tail: Endymion, practically all of this is mentioned there anyway. In case I got anyone confused, only Hope can see Endymion in that state and they can talk with telepathy thanks to their link. I wanted to see what the story could be like if I reveal some of my ideas earlier and what I could of make of them from there.

This little project was a shot in the dark but it really got me motivated to keep going. I'm still debating how to handle certain parts of the story. I'm thinking maybe I'll remove some of the OCs I used in my first story to give bigger roles to a few of the characters here. Like Lisanna, for instance-I got a few ideas about some new take-overs I could give her. Anyway, the next chapter will show more about Hope's interactions with Fairy Tail and them getting to know about Endymion before they join the guild.

Well, thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed it. Please tell me what you think of this chapter-till next time!
