PRE-CRISIS:
Frankie paced the halls of STAR Labs, recounting every detail to Cisco. Ever since J'onn restored her memories, it became clear that this world was a reflection of her post-crisis recollections. However, the timeline had been rewritten, rendering this reality immutable. It seemed impossible for her to have traveled back in time to a world that no longer existed. At this point, there was only one Peter Parker, and Supergirl had yet to arrive on Earth-1. How could she have journeyed to a place that shouldn't have been accessible?
Whatever the case, luckily it wasn't until morning did Cisco need to leave and celebrate the birth of Jenna. So she had time to at least give Cisco a quick recap of everything that happened to her. Leaving out the major details since she didn't want to risk breaking the timeline. This was her own personal history she was going to be messing with, so she had to be careful not to screw everything up by saying the wrong thing. She just gave him the rundown on how she was helping to save the world from someone with time travel tech and sacrificed herself to save Miles and her family.
"It makes perfect sense," Cisco said casually.
That was one of the many things Frankie wasn't expecting to hear from Cisco. "It does?" She questioned.
"You're like Marty McFly at the end of Back to the Future Part 2," Cisco explained to her. "You're just in a different situation that he was in."
"Completely different situation," Frankie agreed as she picked up one of Barry's old mugs. She sighed as she placed it down and looked around. "Marty just needed the DeLorean to travel, I'm stuck slipping through random moments of time and space."
"But from what you've told me, they're not particularly random," Cisco informed her.
"What are you talking about?" Frankie asked, pacing around the cortex. "They are completely random. One moment, I'm in the past. The next, I'm in a wedding dress getting married. Then I blink, and I am now here."
"Yes, you're living history. To be more precise, your history." Cisco explained as he stood up and drew a line on the board. "Here. Let's pretend that this line represents your life." He then drew an "X" further down the line. "This was when you absorbed the Time Drive." He then drew a new line that swirled backward and even forward. "This is you going through time." He then drew a few lines that branched off representing the multiverse, but specifically Frankie's multiverse. "Touching other versions of you if you never got the Time Drive."
"You mean married, having kids?" Frankie asks. "Not exactly what I'd call a perfect life. I mean, I never even thought about kids."
"Well, you see, that's what I mean," Cisco said as he drew "X" marks around certain areas. "This is the time's that you've never lived. You were flung from your proper place in time. So, you can't have lived these moments of time, but you were meant to live them. You were flung off the normal course of your history. You are now capable of traveling back and forth."
"Capable?" Frankie scoffed. "I can't control it. It's completely random. At least the timing and landing zone is."
"But what if you can control it?" Cisco asks. "You once thought it was impossible to control these metallic powers of yours."
"Still took me two years of excessive training," Frankie informed him. "And I can't do this for two years. Glitching back and forth between my history and future. It is hell!"
"Well, I mean, right now, time is relative to you," Cisco informed her. "Maybe you just need to focus your energy on where you want to be. With science, we always have to ask what and how. But in our line of work the past few years, it's always been about why. Why do you want to control this power?"
Frankie considered her answer as if the answer was important to the situation. "I want to go home. I want to see my family again."
"Then focus on that," Cisco tells her. "Focus on your family."
Frankie gave a nonchalant shrug and positioned herself at the heart of the cortex, her mind set on traversing time once more. With her family in her thoughts, she strained, throwing her head back and reaching out, yearning to rewind the clock and return home. Yet, the attempt was futile. Tightening her hands into fists, she willed the dormant power to awaken, but to no avail.
"I can't. I-I can't force it to happen," Frankie was sorry to say. "It's...it's like something that happens on its own."
"Well, there has to be something that triggered it," Cisco said as he tried to come up with plausible answers. "What were you feeling when you first...glitched?"
"Fear?" Frankie scoffed. "I tried to feel at peace at the moment, since, you know, I was dying."
"You also said that it is painful, right?" Cisco asked as he walked around, picking up Iris' taser she left and zapped Frankie.
"AHH!" Frankie cried in pain. "What the hell was that for?"
"Experimenting." Cisco shrugged as he tossed the taser. "Now we know pain isn't the answer." He then walked around, turned around, and tried to scare her. "BOO!"
Frankie flinched but didn't time slip. "God."
"Fight or flight, not it," Cisco said as he tried to figure it out.
Frankie scoffed. "It's like I told you, I can't-"
Cisco decided to try something out and sent a vibe blast her way using his powers. Frankie almost completely forgot he would still have those capabilities since Cicada hadn't made him lose them. When the vibe blast hit her, she shrieked as she continued to glitch. She flinched and screamed as she was dragged through time again.
Cisco stood in the room and looked skeins, making sure that nobody saw what happened. He wasn't entirely sure if that had helped or if he had inadvertently just killed her throughout time and space.
"Well, I have about twenty years to learn if I saved or killed her," Cisco commented, looking at the time and walking off.
PRESENT DAY: EARTH-616:
Things post-Weirdmageddon have only gotten worse since everything has calmed down. At least if that's what you want to defy as calming down with the entire world stop questioning when it's going to happen. Now they've turned their attention to blame. And there is one person who they blame: Peter Parker-Coulson.
Even though in the grand scheme of things, everything that happened was an attempt to stop Bill Cipher, a lot of good people died. Including fellow members of his team of Secret Warriors, and Peter just needed a break. Seems MJ noticed this so she arranged for him and her to get out of the city with the twins so they could try and get some peace and quiet.
But no matter where they went, they were cornered by paparazzi and reporters looking for a comment. The World Council is currently gunning for Peter to be fired from his rank as Director of S.H.I.E.L.D., they weren't exactly happy with him ever since he formed the Secret Warriors behind their back, but they still never had a really good reason to fire him. Now with the whole situation, they might have a solid chance of getting him kicked out.
"Look how big you're getting!" Peter shook his head when he heard the voice of one of his father figures Nick Fury. He looked over and saw the ex-director was bouncing Peter's daughter on his knee. Fury was always usually in the smaller countries where there weren't many people, so it was a good place to hide out since they don't recognize celebrities or faces like Peter's out here. It was funny to watch the man Peter grew up fearing just being like an everyday grandfather. "Oh, yes, you're getting big!" He said, bouncing Maybelle in his lap. "You look just like your daddy when he was your age."
"Really, Nick?" Peter asked.
"Oh, come on, you saw your old photos." Nick scoffed as he held Maybelle close. "You were a big kid."
"Pretty sure that was because I was pumped full of Super Soldier Serum." Peter defended his childhood likeness. "That fat was just muscle yet to be formed."
"Kingpin's fat yet strong." Fury reminded him.
"Hey, no talking crime lords," MJ demanded as she came walking into the room with Annie in her hands after getting her from her nap. "We are here trying to get away from all that."
"You might want to try harder then," Fury said, pointing to the windows, where there were people trying to take photos.
"How the hell do they keep tracking us?" Peter asked, walking over to close the curtains. "I swear, if I liked them, I'd hire them as spies."
"Please, reporters can't keep their mouths shut," MJ stated. "Remember how Daisy was when she joined your crew?"
"Misled, misguided, and was willing to tell everyone everything they could, until she met me and realized we keep secrets for a reason?" Peter recapped.
"Well, it isn't going to take long for more of them to show," Fury said with a sigh. "You're gonna have to get going."
"We've been everywhere," Peter stated. "We went to see Coulson. Mack. Fitz-Simmons. We destroyed the Lighthouse to take our Bill. There's nowhere in the world we can hide ourselves."
MJ then seemed to get an idea as she recalled what he said. "In this world at least."
"What is she getting at?" Fury asked.
"I don't know, but the last time I saw that look, we ended up with twins," Peter commented.
MJ then walked to her suitcase and pulled out a breach device. "Look, we need a break. We need to go somewhere they can't follow. What better place than the multiverse?"
Peter looked over to Fury, wondering what he thought. "Don't look at me. I warned you about crazy girls."
"At the Academy." Peter retorted.
Aster's steps echoed through the quiet neighborhood as he made his way home. The cozy apartment he owned was nestled next to his families house, creating a close-knit family enclave. As he turned the key and stepped inside, a wave of nostalgia washed over him. His apartment was unremarkable, having many personal touches and decorations that have made it truly his own. The color scheme was a light blue on Sub-Zero's request, while the floor was a mix of wood and carpet in some areas.
Moving further into the space, his gaze fell upon the collection of photographs adorning the walls. Each image told a story from his life before college, capturing moments frozen in time. Among them, he lingered on a photo of his team, their triumphant smiles captured in the aftermath of their victory over Brainiac. Those were simpler times, he mused.
However, the tranquility of the moment was overshadowed by the shadow of recent events. The aftermath of Weirdmageddon had left them reeling, with the loss of numerous friends and the weight of responsibility for the lives lost due to their actions. The memories were haunting – Sub-Zero consumed by Bloodwork, Tommy falling victim to Kang's deception, Frankie's sacrifice, and the burden of realizing how their own choices had contributed to their predicament. They were just kids back then, but the repercussions of their actions had been severe.
As Aster was sitting there, on the edge of his couch, he heard bleeping and turned to see BD sitting on the counter of his dresser holding the television. He began to wake up, not realizing Aster was there before noticing him and bleeping.,
"BD?" Aster was shocked to see him again.
BD bleeped in the joy of seeing Aster again.
"BD!" Aster cheered, watching BD jump for joy, and revealing he had been installed with a thruster that allowed him to fly over and get caught by Aster who was happy to see him. "Oh, I missed you."
BD then bleeped, seemed he was still a little furious with Aster for leaving him behind.
"Hey, hey, watch your language," Aster tells him with a chuckle. "Oh, it's so good to see you again, old friend." He then caressed BD's head with a sigh. "It's been too long."
As the door creaked open, Aster turned to see Carrie stepping in. It was clear she had matured; the pink streak in her hair was gone, replaced by her natural brown locks, now styled with soft curls. Her fashion sense remained largely the same, yet there was a noticeable absence of the numerous piercings that once adorned her, a phase she had evidently left behind in her youth.
Carrie entered and was shocked when she saw BD. "Oh, BD!" BD cheered when he saw Carrie and left Aster to leap into her hands. "Oh, I missed you, little guy! Who's my favorite droid?"
"Looks like he missed you," Aster said with a chuckle.
"So, heard there was a lot of action while I was heading over," Carrie said as she sat down beside Aster. "What did I miss?"
"Let's see, the rundown of recent events includes an assassin attempting to rob my sister. Then there's this new fellow, Firefighter—quite the ironic name, but he seems like a cool person," Aster recounted recent events. "And get this, one of my sister's employees turns out to be a superhero known as Bumblebee. Plus, it seems Sub-Zero has developed a bit of a crush on a girl with fire powers."
Carrie was shocked to hear how much went down in the two days that they were apart with her finishing packing everything to return to Central City. "Wait, Sub-Zero has a crush on someone?"
"This girl. Beatriz Bonilla da Costa." Aster explained and showed the file to her. "She broke the assassin after my sister's power source out of police custody, and flirted with Sub-Zero."
"Flirted like she tried to catch him off guard or...?" Carrie wanted clarification.
"I don't know, seems like she isn't interested in hurting anyone." Aster shrugged. "From what we discovered, she went AWOL from the government after her abilities activated."
"Thinking the government is hiding something?" Carrie guessed.
"Guessing they found they had a meta in their grasp, and they decided to play god," Aster took a guess.
"So, how is Sub-Zero handling his first crush?" Carrie was curious to know.
"Oof, he is buzzing in my head," Aster stated as he rubbed upside his head. "Right now, he is questioning his choice of clothing."
"His outfit?" Carrie asked.
"She just had to make a remark, and now Zero's insisting on a brand new suit," Aster chuckled. That's when he noticed a thin layer of frost forming over his right knuckle. He glanced down just in time to see Sub-Zero take over, delivering a punch straight to his face. "OW!" he yelped, clutching his nose. "I swear he just broke my nose."
"Oh, sorry, did that hurt?" Sub-Zero asked, taking control of half of their face. "Here, let me fix that for you."
"Okay, great." Aster sighed in relief.
"SO THAT I CAN BREAK IT AGAIN!" Sub-Zero cried as he then punched Aster so hard they fell off of the couch.
Carrie made the decision to lean back and observe as the two personalities grappled with each other – a peculiar sight indeed, given that they were both manifestations of the same individual. It was akin to witnessing a person tussle with their imaginary companion. The duo engaged in combat with only half of a body each; Aster commanded the right side while Sub-Zero held sway over the left.
BD sat on the arm of the chair as he watched the two struggle to fight one another as it seemed like a one-way fight. Remarkably, Zero refrained from leveraging his formidable powers in the skirmish, choosing to keep the confrontation fair. For Carrie, it proved to be an enthralling spectacle as she settled in, delving into the delectable takeout meal she had brought along, all the while bearing witness to her partner's struggle with his alternate persona.
"Boys," Carrie scoffed at the sight, taking a bite of an eggroll. But she then decided to give a little hand as she reached and called a certain someone. "Hey, Cisco. Yeah, I got in. I wanted to ask you something. How do you feel about getting us a new super suit for someone?"
Isaac and Karen found themselves in the upper levels of the Frankie-May Foundation, a departure from the lower floors of the YJ headquarters. The team concluded that given Ashley's blunder had exposed their identities, it was time to bring them up to speed on all the recent events.
"So, the Foundation is a front?" Karen asks.
"No. The Foundation has just been added to the secret headquarters." Tina corrected her. "This...everything we are doing here is still important."
"Yeah, just because we go out and try to keep the world safe doesn't change what happens here." V.I.V.I.A.N. agreed. "This place is about healing the world. And that is what we are going to do."
"And it looks to me like we're going to be teaching you to do it in a new way," April said with a laugh. "What do you guys say to becoming a member of Young Justice?"
"Still?" Issac asks. "I mean, going by Young at this point feels a little weird. Most of you guys are in your twenties."
"We trademarked it. We are not changing business cards." Tina stated.
Peter was walking down the halls of the retrofitted STAR Labs. It was retrofitted and rebuilt to become the new museum that was renamed the Hall of Heroes. With all of their adventures and equipment, even a new hall for the Young Justice and their enemies. Miles brought him to show the new wave that was built with a certain someone in mind.
Peter was amazed to see the wave of things built for his fallen daughter. Frankie had a whole facility to herself and her own enemies that she fought as Metalla.
"Metalla. A superhero who started her career on the wrong side." A narrator said as they were walking through the halls. "She turned everything around however when she appeared out of nowhere and saved the city from the Thinker's satellite."
There was even a video someone took as Frankie exited Cisco's breach and tried to stop the satellite. Peter smiled as he remembered when she first introduced herself as Metalla to the world.
"I know it was not the best start to my career," they came across an interview that she did for the museum. Many heroes decided to do the interviews as long as nothing personal was shared. "I mean, I almost crushed a hospital to hurt someone who hurt me. I thought nobody understood. I just wanted him to stop hurting me. But then, I finally found someone who wanted to listen. He understood the pain I was going through and was able to help me. He took a chance on me." She said with a smile growing. "And now I do what I can to give back. Because... when you help someone, you help everyone."
Peter smiled as he knew that she was referring to the first time that they met. The first time he saw that scared little girl who was lost and alone. The girl had a broken heart, and he helped her get a steady life.
"She was a hero to a lot of people," Miles said with a smile.
"Yeah, she was," Peter said with a grin. "My Frankie. Central City's hero... my hero."
Maggie let out a deep, weary sigh as she trudged through the familiar path leading to her childhood home. The weight of the day's events hung heavily on her shoulders, and she longed for the comfort of her own space. Finally reaching the front door, she turned the key and stepped into the familiar warmth of her home.
Relief washed over her as she shed her outer layers and slipped into the comforting embrace of soft sweatpants and a simple, white tank top. Her thoughts drifted to the convenience of her superhero suit, capable of morphing into any outfit she desired with a simple thought. It had certainly made shopping for clothes a thing of the past, but it also meant she had to remember to wash the suit regularly to prevent any unpleasant odors from lingering. Unfortunately, her superpowers didn't extend to keeping her suit perpetually fresh.
Seeking solace, she sank into the welcoming embrace of the couch. As she attempted to unwind and clear her mind, a sense of unease crept over her. Suddenly, she felt a presence looming behind her. Startled, she leaped to her feet, ready to confront the unexpected intruder, only to find herself face-to-face with her girlfriend, Carlie Cooper.
"Yeeze, babe," Carlie commented on Maggie's shriek. "You okay?"
"Uh, sorry," Maggie told her as she shuttered. "I'm a little on edge. I... got some weird news today."
"What news?" Carlie asks.
"We learned that there might be someone out there hunting Metahumans," Maggie explained.
Carlie was not fully informed about Maggie's activities. While she knew that Maggie was the superhero Mosaic, she was not given further details, as Maggie didn't want to frighten her. It was also crucial to Maggie that everyone else's identities remained protected. Maggie simply wanted to ensure that Carlie understood the nature of her relationship with a Metahuman when they started dating.
Maggie's main concern was that despite the city's overall acceptance of Metahumans, there were still individuals who refused to see them as equals. Fortunately, Carrie, whom Maggie met at the police academy, was supportive. During their time at the academy, they kept their relationship low-key. Upon graduation, they were assigned to different precincts in the city. However, they were fortunate that their schedules often aligned, allowing them to spend much of their free time together.
"Who?" Carlie asks.
"We don't know for sure," Maggie said with a sigh. "But we don't think they're done. They've hit Coast City, New York, strangely enough, the Defenders weren't hit. We don't know who is next."
In the warehouse district of the city, there was a meeting going on with the last few crime lords in the city. There was Nika, a Metahuman who went by the name of Flatline. Desdemona Synge. But there was one that was more than anyone was familiar with. Hammerhead. They were meeting up to try and figure out everything that was going down with everything that had been happening.
"So, someone took a shot at the Parker kid's facility." Nika didn't see the point of the meeting. "Some new kid who wants to be a big shot."
"I don't get this," Desdemona commented as she looked to Hammerhead. "What is the point of this meeting, Hammerhead?"
"Me?" Hammerhead asks. "What are you talking about? I didn't call this in."
"Well, if we didn't, then who called this meeting?" Nika was afraid to ask.
The massive wooden doors exploded inward, sending wooden splinters flying in all directions, startling the three crime lords who quickly turned their heads to see what was happening. In the doorway stood Janice Lincoln, making a grand and confident entrance, each step exuding power as she strode into the room clad in her sleek and fully equipped armor.
Feelings of fear and anticipation surged through Fire as she braced herself for the imminent actions of the crime lords, despite her unwavering determination not to take another's life. In stark contrast, both Dr. Light and Sunshine stood poised and ready to unleash deadly force at a moment's notice.
"I called this meeting together," Janice informed them, her voice being disoriented through the mask. "Let's get one thing straight. I am the newly crowned ruler around here."
"What?" Desdemona asks. "You think because you show up with some sort of shiny armor and your own crew, you're going to run things?"
Janice then threw a bag that landed on the table across the room. "Open it." The three of them then looked in the bag and gagged when they saw that it was the heads of their second inc command. "Those are the heads of your second in command." Fire wasn't aware of this and was disgusted by it. "We run this town now."
"And what do you have to offer us?" Hammerhead asks.
"Oh, this isn't a message for you," Janice informed him, tapping her mask. "This is being broadcast to all of your crew. Yeah, you should get your own security. Easy to find your whole crew when the CCPD found out months ago. Just couldn't move in on them... but I could." She then raised her wrist, which opened, and a flamethrower came out of it. "Now, smile."
Then Janice activated the flamethrower and the three criemlords jumped to avoid the flames.
Desdemona ran towards the exit, only to be gunned down by Dr. Light who shot her down. Then when Nika tried to run and escape, Sunshine then came in and appeared in front of her, using her powers to melt her easily.
Janice maintained her aim with the flamethrower on Hammerhead, who was barreling towards her with his indestructible skin. The impact of his charge sent her crashing against the wall. Dazed and groaning, she struggled to clear her vision. In that moment of vulnerability, Hammerhead seized her throat, his grip tightening on her armor.
Fire knew she couldn't let her be harmed and used her powers to quickly blast Hammerhead and send him flying. When Hammerhead was down, Janice got back up and looked over to Fire with a nod.
"Thanks," Janice told her co-worker. She then looked towards Hammerhead and sighed. "You know what the problem with the old ways was? There were no superheroes. You guys like to keep things the same, but things are never going back. I will destroy this city, draw out every hero. And I will kill them all." Janice then aimed a rocket in her arm and then aimed it at Hammerhead's mouth. "Is everything about you indestructible?"
Barry was currently pacing his home with Patty who was getting a little tired of this. Since he learned his connection to the Speedforce was getting worse, he was trying to figure out what the problem was. Time can't be the only factor since there have been speedsters like Jay Garrick who went on to be Flash in his golden years. Patty was on the couch and was getting literally tired altogether with how late it was.
"Okay, Barry, it is late," Patty said with a sigh. "Can we put this to rest?"
"Not really," Barry said as he looked around. "I gotta figure this out."
"Well, what are our options?" Patty asks. "Caitlin can't find anything wrong with you. Gideon couldn't. Neither could Lyla. You are healthy."
Then Barry got an idea. "The Speedforce itself. I'll go into the Speedforce. Maybe then I can figure it out."
"You sure that is a good idea?" Patty asks.
"I'll be in and out. I should be back by tomorrow." Barry promises her as he kneels to Patty. "I will be back."
"And what if you can't find anything wrong?" Patty asks.
Barry sighed. "Then I need to face the truth."
Barry rose to his feet and dashed off with incredible speed, creating a gust of wind in his wake as he raced to open a portal to the Speedforce.
GOTHAM:
Mia and Karen stealthily surveyed a warehouse, acting on a tip that it was targeted for an attack. To their surprise, it turned out to belong to Wayne Enterprises.
Mia donned her classic Green Arrow costume, which remained largely unchanged, while Karen sported an updated suit she had been wearing for the past few years. Her outfit was predominantly white with a stylish cut in the upper portion, complete with a belt cinched around her waist. The striking red cape billowed behind her, adding to her formidable presence. She also now sported military-grade blue boots to complete her suit.
"Why is it bad guys always attack Wayne's places in Gotham?" Starr asks Mia. "I mean, there aren't any other advancements out there being made?"
"Let's ask them ourselves," Mia said, drawing her arrow and shooting a grapple line to one of the above windows. "You stick back and I get the lay of the land?"
"Sure." Starr shrugged. "Why not send the girl with the bow rather than the Superhuman."
"Not everything requires you to punch the problem," Mia stated, using her bow to slide down the zipline.
"Well, it would help if we didn't line buildings with lead," Starr whispered.
Mia landed through the window and managed to not make too much noise. She snuck around and looked down to see that there were people laced in animal clothing. They were looking around as if they were casing the area while some were trying to break into one of the containers.
"You sure this is the right one?" A female with a heavy Russian accent was noticeable.
"He didn't lie." A male with a Russian accent stated. "He swore on his family's life. After I killed them."
"These sickos," Mia scoffed as she saw they were trying to break into a container. She tapped her earpiece to connect to Starr. "Powergirl, we've got company. They're some sort of Russian group from the sound of it."
"Russians? Maybe the mob?" Starr guessed.
Mia scoffed at that one. "I wouldn't think so."
"Time for me to intervene?" Starr asks.
"They seem to only be carrying crossbows and spears." Mia shrugged. "I say take them."
"Copy that," Starr said.
Then they felt the ground shake as Karen Starr came bursting in while yanking the warehouse doors off their hinges as she saw all of the people clearly wearing animal skins. They all raised their weapons towards her, shooting off poisonous darts towards her.
But Karen's unbreakable skin rendered them useless as she just shrugged them off and even flicked one when the needed embedded into her uniform. She then cracked her knuckles and was prepared to end this.
"My turn," Starr says.
Then Starr sped her way over and punched one of the men, sending them flying across the room. When one tried to draw another arrow, Mia drew her own arrow and shot back, embedding her arrow into his arm, revealing where she was.
Mia then drew an explosive arrow to give Starr some cover and allowed her to speed through and attack the other ones. She then saw Mia in trouble when a helicopter appeared above them and dropped several more came to shoot at her.
Mia worked fast as she grabbed the crossbow of the nearest one and moved it from facing in her direction. She then forced him to fire it, embedding the arrow into another one of his crew.
Starr was getting ready to help when suddenly the crate that they were trying to get into drew open due to Starr throwing the man into it. When it opened a green light illuminated it and caused Starr to begin to choke.
She had never felt like this and dropped to her knees in agony as Mia was still fighting off the men from the ground above. Mia ducked down under the railing drew an arrow that split off quills and fired it into one of the men. Then the quills shot off and caused the people around to scream in pain. When she looked down, she saw Starr was down and wondered what was wrong.
Then she saw as some of the other people opened the container and she saw what was in it: Kryptonite.
Mia now saw how serious this was and tapped her emergency distress beacon for any nearby heroes to come and rescue them. She just hoped she could hold them off in time, and get Starr out of there before she choked on the Kryptonite.
"Sorry isn't good enough," Dana tells Terry as they meet up in the park. "What's this all about?
"You know how much I care about you," Terry tells her.
"Sure, why else keep dating for 15 years?" Dana asks.
"I know, sorry," Terry said as he was getting nervous. "Look, I just wanted to ask you..." Before he could finish his question, his alarm went off, getting him to see it was the emergency beacon. "Emergency beacon."
"What?" Dana asks.
"I'm sorry, a friend is in trouble." Terry apologizes to Dana. He then started to summon the BatWing to come get him with his suit. "I need to go. I will call you later. We do need to talk! I'm sorry!"
Dana sighed as she was used to him needing to go and save the city. The city needed him and she learned to accept that. Terry then used his small grapple to reach the BatWing as it came around and flew off towards the location.
Mia fought with unwavering determination to shield her friend from harm. As she glanced down at Starr, she observed a troubling sight - Starr's condition was rapidly worsening, her veins pulsating with an ominous green glow as the Kryptonite infiltrated her very blood.
Amidst the chaos, a commanding voice pierced the mayhem, barking out an order to "Secure the target!"
Mia observed as multiple assailants closed in on Starr and swiftly notched her arrows to thwart their advance as they were embedded into their shoulders. Despite her efforts, a few managed to breach the container and abscond with the Kryptonite. They began to make their way back to the helicopter while a few of them were trying to secure Mia and Starr.
They grabbed Starr and began to drag her off towards the helicopter outside. Mia was trying her best to fight back, but she was running low on arrows as she had been using them to take them down. It was like the more she fought, the more came out of hiding. Then one managed to sneak up on her, smacking her with the back of their crossbow.
Mia dropped to her knees while they advanced to take her down. That was the entire glass ceiling came crashing down as explosions were placed, sending the glass fragments everywhere. Then Batman came flying down using his boosters to cushion his fall. When Terry landed, he quickly drew two small grapple hooks and shot them off, wrapping them around the necks of the attackers, sending them flying off the banister and leaving them dangling.
Terry then saw several of them aiming and shooting darts. He quickly used his cape as a shield to then block their attacks and formed Batarangs in his hands. He threw them and their remote targeting smacked into the attackers. He used their daze to run and skid across the floor to then kick one at the knees, using his cape to flap and knock a few more of them down.
But before Terry could retract his cape, a few of them managed to get a handle on it and used it to drag Terry towards the ledge. Terry frantically tried to reach down for his belt, but they kept his hands away.
That was when Mia finally managed to fight off the men surrounding her and then grabbed one of their arrows. She used it to shoot the ones holding Terry, helping him get back up.
"What, did you take the scenic route?" Mia asks him.
"What are they here for?" Terry asks Mia.
Mia then suddenly became afraid when she looked down and saw Karen was still being taken. "Powergirl. The Kryptonite."
Terry then tapped a button and before the people could drag Starr toward the helicopter, the BatWing destroyed it. The two of them then threw a Batarang and shot an arrow, saving Starr. But she was still being poisoned by the Kryptonite. They ran over towards her and sighed, seeing as they managed to stop them from escaping with the Kryptonite.
Or so they thought. Terry helped Mia pick Starr up and scanned the helicopter. "Mia? I have no trace of Kryptonite on the chopper."
"What do you mean?" Mia asks. "I saw them take off with Kryptonite."
Terry then looked around and was just as confused. "I don't know."
But they didn't know was there was a camouflaged helicopter that managed to escape with the Kryptonite on board. Kraven was also there as he picked up a chunk of the rock and smiled. "Beautiful, isn't it?"
"Sir, where to now?" One of his Hunters wonders.
"National City," Kraven proclaimed. He then picked up his spear from a forge, spinning it around before stabbing the Kryptonite with it. The spear melted the Kryptonite and Kraven watched as the two substances were now fused together. "We are going to hunt a Kryptonian..."
CENTRAL CITY:
Barry pushed himself to the limit, his every step vibrating the air around him, until finally, a breach opened before him. Without hesitation, he plunged into the breach, hurtling through the Speedforce until he found himself standing in the familiar surroundings of his childhood home.
However, this time, everything was different. The air hummed with an eerie, pulsating purple glow, casting strange shadows across the room. Peering out the window, Barry's eyes widened as he beheld a surreal sight. The entirety of the Speedforce, the boundless expanse he had traversed countless times before, had vanished, leaving behind only an endless storm of massive, crackling bolts of purple lightning that illuminated the darkness outside.
It was a disorienting and unnerving sight, one that sent shivers down Barry's spine as he struggled to comprehend the magnitude of the change that had overtaken the Speedforce.
"What the hell?" Barry asks as he looks around. "Where is she?" He then sped around the house and found her in his old room. "What?"
Barry then saw she looked sick. He walked over and kneeled down beside her. "My beautiful boy." She whispered.
"What happened here?" Barry asks. "What is going on?"
"We are dying, Barry Allen," Speedforce warns Barry.
"What?" Barry asks. "How is that possible?"
Speedforce gasped for breath. "It's coming."
"What is coming?"
"The Dragon" Speedforce warned him. "He's coming. He somehow plagued us. The Forces of the Universe. We are dying." She tried to speak, but was getting harder. "He...is weakening the walls. He is coming."
"Who is the Dragon?" Barry asks.
"The God of the Dark Realm," Speedforce whispered. "No..."
Barry gazed in awe as he spotted a bolt of lightning hurtling directly toward him. Despite his best efforts, there was no chance of outrunning it. In an instant, the lightning struck both Barry and the Speedforce, causing a massive shock that sent Barry hurtling through the air.
Thrown out of the Speedforce, Barry tumbled uncontrollably along the street, colliding with several cars before crashing into an alleyway, where he lay unconscious. His emergency alert beacon immediately activated, broadcasting a distress signal to anyone in the vicinity, signaling that he was in dire need of assistance.
