Ye Hai furrowed his brow slightly, and his body suddenly vanished, reappearing beside the giant lizard with a swift motion. He kicked the lizard right in its grotesque face. The giant lizard was completely unprepared, or perhaps simply not nimble enough, and was sent flying by the force of the kick.
"Boom!"
The strong impact created several dents on the sturdy iron bridge, and the lizard's eyes widened in an instant, its distorted face twisting further in pain.
"Roar!"
The giant lizard stood up in fury, its powerful regenerative abilities quickly restoring it to normal. It grabbed a nearby sedan and hurled it with a swift motion; remarkably, the heavy car flew through the air as though it were a small stone.
Ye Hai nimbly dodged the incoming sedan, quickly closing the distance and unleashing a flurry of punches on the lizard's body. The lizard roared in pain, swinging its sharp claws incessantly at Ye Hai, who skillfully evaded each attack.
Though the lizard's strikes were incredibly fierce, in Ye Hai's eyes, it appeared clumsy and slow, akin to bullying a drunken heavyweight—he could hit wherever he wanted.
Ye Hai soon realized the fundamental flaw of the giant lizard: it was like an infant taking its first steps, still not fully in control of its massive strength and lacking the agility to utilize it properly. In contrast, Ye Hai had activated a level-three brain domain, allowing him to control his body with the precision of a computer, executing each movement with remarkable fluidity.
The lizard was completely unable to counterattack. In the end, Ye Hai seized its tail and, despite the lizard's violent struggles, smashed it against the bridge, creating huge craters with each impact.
Suddenly, Ye Hai found his hands empty except for a wriggling piece of lizard tail, while the giant lizard scrambled away in a panic, throwing cars behind it as it fled.
Sedans came rushing toward Ye Hai, but he dodged each one. Then, a particular car flipped through the air and rushed toward him, accompanied by a woman's terrified scream from inside.
There's someone inside!*
Without hesitation, Ye Hai dove forward and grabbed the car, the immense force of the impact sending him flying back before he finally managed to stop.
Holding the car effortlessly as it floated in mid-air, the trapped occupants continued to scream in terror, and no matter how Ye Hai tried to reassure them, his words fell on deaf ears.
Feeling helpless, Ye Hai quickly flew to the edge of the bridge and set the car down, then took off after the giant lizard.
To prevent more casualties, this had to be resolved quickly.
Meanwhile, the giant lizard was sprinting across the bridge, the surface thundering beneath its massive weight as it crashed into a minivan.
Boom!
The minivan was instantly crushed, and the lizard's powerful claws pierced through its exterior, snatching an Indian middle-aged man inside.
With a sinister grin, the lizard said, "Dr. Rada, didn't expect to see you so soon, did you?"
"You are…who are you?" Dr. Rada looked at the giant lizard in shock, then realization hit him as he exclaimed, "You're... Dr. Connors?"
"Correct," the lizard replied with a grin. "What do you think of my new body? Isn't it splendid? Strong limbs and hard scales—impressive, right?"
The lizard basked in its own self-admiration, fully embodying its new form, believing that the lizard was the perfect creature in this world, while humans were merely numerous maggots.
"Y-Yes, Dr. Connors, but why have you targeted me? I mean you no offense; I was simply following Mr. Norman Osborn's orders," Dr. Rada stammered in fear.
"Do you know the traits of a lizard? Strong, cold-blooded, and vengeful—once it senses danger, it strikes back."
The lizard's huge eyes locked onto Dr. Rada's terrified face, a wave of disdain for life washing over it—a feeling it relished. This little pest dared to offend the great Lizard King. It deserved to be punished, but now that annoying flying guy had come along…
With a swift motion, the lizard's claws pricked closed, impaling Rada's neck, and it quickly crushed his skull, splattering brain matter and blood everywhere. Dr. Connors felt no revulsion; on the contrary, the scent of blood thrilled him.
Having dealt with this target, Dr. Connors lunged forward, climbing up a support pillar of the bridge and rapidly moving towards the underside.
"Hey, where do you think you're going, Lizard?"
At the base of the bridge, a figure in a black-and-red suit blocked his path, suspended in the air like a spider by a thin thread.
Dr. Connors scoffed, "Little Spider, you want to stop me? Just remember that in nature, spiders are always prey to lizards. You're dealing with a reptile far bigger than you."
Peter shrugged nonchalantly, "I think of myself as a zookeeper. I'll catch you and put you in a zoo for the kids to see."
"A bunch of insects think they can capture me!"
Enraged by yet another humiliation, Dr. Connors lost his temper and tore through the surrounding web, lunging at Peter.
