Chapter 49: The End-Part 1

(In a deep, underground chamber)

"THE TIME HAS COME. THE PROPHECY SHALL BE FULFILLED. TONIGHT AT DUSK, WHEN THE PLANETS ALIGN…THE PORTAL WILL BE OPENED," The voice of Trigon echoed through the chamber, his four red-eyes glowing from the wall and staring down at the masked criminal, Slade. "FINALLY, I SHALL BE FREE FROM THIS FIERY PRISON, AND THE EARTH SHALL BE MINE," He continued. Slade looked up towards the wall as lava flowed around him and the Mark of Skath blazing behind him.

"I will make sure that Raven realizes her destiny. And for bringing you your precious gem…I expect you to keep your part of the bargain and return what is precious to me," Slade reminded. More Marks appeared around the walls as the red eyes glared down at him.

"YOU BRING ME THE GEM AND YOU SHALL GET WHAT YOU DESERVE," Trigon offered.

"Deal," Slade agreed as he stood up from the floor. "It's a beautiful day for the end of the world," He commented, leaving the chamber soon after.

(Meanwhile, In the Castle that Never Was)

In the round room known as Where Nothing Gathers, thirteen members wearing black cloaks sat in tall, throne like chairs. The highest one was for the only member not wearing a cloak and the leader for the Seekers of Darkness, Master Xehanort. While the other members were speaking and planning for what comes next, the Master soon fell silent as he felt a great presence echo across the worlds, making him smirk. Xigbar managed to notice.

"What's so funny, you old coot?" Xigbar asked.

"It seems that a grave threat is destined to return today. A threat that plans to destroy all worlds," Xehanort answered. A laugh broke out from Larxene.

"Why should we care? We're strong enough. The only ones who should be scared are the guardians," She asked.

"Because this threat will most definitely be coming for us because I was one of the few who locked him away," Xehanort answered, surprising everyone.

"What would you have us do, Master?" Saix asked. Xehanort could smile as a plan started to form.

"I think it's time for a little truce to be made. But first, let us see how things play out," He replied. The seekers looked at each other in acknowledgement and nodded.

(Meanwhile, in Yen Sid's Tower)

Yen Sid and King Mickey were waiting for everyone to return while Riku got Kairi acquainted with everyone. The stars continued to shine until Yen Sid felt the dark presence, making him grunt in worry.

"Master?! What's wrong?" Mickey asked.

"Mickey…a very dangerous enemy is set to return today. And if we fail to stop him, all worlds will be destroyed," Yen Sid said, scaring Mickey.

"W-what should we do?" Mickey asked.

"Right now, Sora is at the forefront of this threat. We can only trust in him to stop this but until then we must find a way to join him and assist," Yen Sid said. Mickey could only nod and think to this new threat.

(Meanwhile, in Titans Tower)

The sun began to shine through Raven's window, the light soon hitting her eyes. She slowly opened them and looked around, but a horrified gasp soon escaped her lips as she quickly got up from her bed to see the red runes marked all over her body.

"No," She could only say in horror. She looked down in worry at the thought of what today meant. Since it was early, she quietly got up from bed and grabbed her cloak before leaving her room and heading to the roof. Next door, Stitch heard her leave and shook Sora awake.

"Huh, wha-" Sora asked, sleepily.

"Raven. She awake," Stitch said, pointing outside. Sora rubbed his eyes and looked around before grabbing his jacket and shoes and walking out of his room. He quickly followed her up to the roof where he saw her standing on the edge, looking out towards the sunrise.

"Hey, are you okay?" Sora asked. He sees her get a little startled from his voice but she quickly composes herself.

"I'm fine. Why do you ask?" Raven replied. Sora walked up to her and wrapped his arms around her shoulders in a hug.

"Well, I know you prefer your beauty sleep and you usually don't wake up this early," Sora said. Raven slightly smiled and placed her hands on his arms, though being sure to hide the marks from him.

"It's nothing. Just had a bad dream and I thought the sunrise might calm me down," She said. Raven hated lying to him but she didn't want to ruin this day for him so quickly.

"Oh. Did you wanna talk about it?" Sora asked and she shook her head no. "Ok. Whatever you want," He replied, making her smile.

"What about you? I know how you like to sleep," Raven asked.

"Ah, Stitch woke me up. He heard you getting up and he got a little worried," He answered. Raven quietly chuckled to herself as Sora joined in the laugh. The two remained there for a good few minutes when another set of footsteps echoed across the roof.

"What are you two doing up so early?" Robin asked, walking up to them.

"Could ask you the same thing," Raven asked.

"I love sunrises. The promise of a new day, anything's possible," Robin said.

"You always so cheery this early?" Raven asked.

"Pretty much," Robin answered.

"And what's wrong with being cheery in the morning? I'm like that all the time," Sora asked.

"Yeah, in the morning. At this time, you would be sleeping or all groggy," Raven said, making the three laugh.

"Looks like it's going to be a beautiful day," Robin commented.

"Yeah. You guys hungry?" Raven asked with a smile.

"Sure," Robin said.

"You bet. Who's cooking?" Sora asked.

(Later, in the Tower's kitchen)

Raven took charge in cooking breakfast for everyone by herself and her inexperience clearly showed from the pancakes she made. They were seven brown glops smoking and bubbling on the kitchen stove while she stared at them in worry, while Sora, Stitch and Robin watched from behind her. She eventually pulled a spatula out and tries to pry a pancake off the stove until it eventually flew off the stove at high-speeds and into the waiting plate Robin was holding, sending him to the ground. He soon stood back up, his arm shaking from the impact while the other Titans soon joined them.

"Nice flip," Robin shakingly replied.

"You sure you don't need any help, Rae?" Sora offered.

"I got it Sora. You just relax, okay," She answered. Sora nodded as he took a seat with the others as she brought a plate carrying the rest of the pancakes to the table.

"Morning. Pancakes?" Raven greeted the others, confusing the four members who walked in.

"Uh…thanks?" Beast Boy said, questionably.

"What is the occasion?" Starfire asked.

"Can't I just do something nice for my friends?" Raven replied and Sora couldn't help but notice her eyebrow twitching, like she was holding something back.

"Well, yeah, but…" Rose said.

"…You never have before," Cyborg finished. Raven aimed a terrifying glare towards them as lightning suddenly striked around them, scaring everyone to where they were sitting at the table with forks in hand and pancakes in front of them.

"Guess there's a first time for everything," Beast Boy nervously chuckled as they all take a bite from their pancakes. Their reactions are as follow: Starfire's face turned into a smile with red from blushing, Robin's eyes narrowed in an attempt to keep his stomach down, Rose put a hand over her mouth in order to stop from spitting the food out, Cyborg opened his mouth to reveal that the bite got stuck in his teeth and he couldn't swallow it, Sora quickly covered his mouth as well while Stitch took a bite and let out a satisfied sound in response, and finally, Beast Boy let his fork fall to the table as his mouth bulges in response. All at once, everyone, besides Starfire and Stitch, either fall over, duck under the table to puke, or make a mad dash out of the room for a drink or the bathroom. Knowing that her breakfast failed, Raven turned away from everyone while a small storm cloud gathered above her head. Sora took a drink of milk to wash the taste down while Robin, Beast Boy, and Cyborg picked themselves up.

"Don't you think it's nice of Raven to make us breakfast?" Robin said in effort.

"Yeah, thanks Raven," Sora said smiling though he quickly took another drink. Cyborg slowly got up from the ground and began to drown the pancakes in maple syrup.

"Even though the girl has no clue how to cook," Cyborg said under his breath. Robin elbows him and points to Raven, who was now waist deep in the water, now in a downpour and the cloud has grown bigger. "Oops, did I say that out loud? Yum!" He quickly replied with a thumbs-up. Rose soon returned with a glass of water and taking deep breaths.

"Ooh, that was close. Sorry Raven," Rose said.

"It's fine, Rose," Raven replied. Starfire and Stitch continued to eat the pancakes, surprising everyone.

"Burnt on the outside, yet runny on the inside. Just like the incinerated glorka roaches of my home world. More please!" Starfire replied as everyone deposited their pancakes onto her plate. Stitch licked his lips and pulled out two pairs of utensils with his four arms. "What a glorious way to start the day!" Starfire continued, using the mustard as a syrup replacement. Raven turns back to see everyone cleaning themselves up from the pancakes and walks over to catch their attention.

"So, I was thinking. After breakfast, you guys wanna, maybe, you know, hang out or something?" She asked, forcing a huge grin on her face, though it was evident on hard it was to do. More question marks flare up from everybody's foreheads but they soon disappear when the communicator beeps. Robin pulls out his communicator and looks at the screen.

"It'll have to wait," Robin said, quickly running out with the others, leaving Sora and Raven.

"Well, that failed," She said, putting her hood on and about to head out but Sora stopped her by placing a comforting hand on her shoulder.

"Hey, I'm sure they appreciated it. It's the thought that counts right?" He said, making her smile.

"Right," She said.

"C'mon, let's go deal with whatever's causing trouble and then we can spend the rest of the day hanging out," Sora said. She smiled in response, taking his hand and heading out with him.

(Later, on the streets of Jump City)

The team quickly flew into the city to see the criminal Plasmus wreaking havoc on the streets, destroying a nearby truck and drinking the toxic liquids contained inside. Raven flew behind everyone, relived.

"Plasmus? It's just Plasmus," Raven said to herself. Suddenly, Beast Boy was sent flying past her and landed into a building before falling to the lower rooftop.

"Yeah, but he's still ugly as ever," He commented. Everyone fired their projectiles together at the Plasmus but he quickly recovered and launched the empty tanker towards them. They quickly dispersed as Robin and Ravager threw freeze discs and knives at the criminal, freezing him in place. Sora and Beast Boy, as a T-Rex, rush in and shatter the criminal into pieces. However, he quickly recovered and formed back while letting out a roar.

"Titans! Go!" Robin yelled as they all charged in once again. Cyborg and Starfire bombard the criminal with their projectiles while Sora, Robin, and Ravager sliced at Plasmus with their weapons but the goo made prisoner, reared back and smacked the three away from him. Raven watched them fly and saw that they were about to crash into a nearby building.

"Guys!" Raven yelled, quickly reaching out with her powers to grab them and set them safely on the ground.

"Thanks, Rae. We owe you ," Sora said, while Robin and Ravager give her a thumbs-up in return before running back to battle.

"Yeah…sure," Raven quietly replied before flying over to help her team. Meanwhile, Cyborg manages to lift up an entire building from the ground and swings it around to smash into Plasmus, sending him flying through two buildings, skips across a third roof, and finally crashes into another street. The team quickly catch up to him and see the criminal back in human form. They were about to detain him when he suddenly woke up and quickly turned back into Plasmus, lunging at them all. Sora and Raven quickly created shields for everyone while Sora sliced at the gooey tendrils. Cyborg was suddenly buried under Plasmus's goo but Starfire quickly flew in and busted him out, both getting covered in green muck. Plasmus recovers though and sends multiple tendrils towards them but Raven's shield comes in and protects them. Angered, Plasmus flows over to another tanker truck and breaks it in half, drinking the green liquid inside. Beast Boy soon flies over as a falcon and starts pecking away at Plasmus but the criminal quickly grabs him and starts sniffing, only to suddenly sneeze, sending Beast Boy tumbling to the ground covered in green snot.

"Ewww! Only one thing worse than goo," Beast Boy said, sitting up.

"Sneeze goo," Raven replied, flying past, Beast Boy shuddered in response as Cyborg freed himself from Plasmus again with his keyblade while Raven flew closer. "Let's just finish this!" She demanded while getting into her meditation pose as Plasmus lumbers towards her. She chants her mantra as her soul-self emerges from her body, appearing as her human form, flies straight into Plasmus. Suddenly, his upper body began to bulge and expand until he finally exploded, causing red muck and goo to go flying all over the place while Raven's soul-self returned to her. She floats back to the ground covered in goo while the criminal sleeps in human form.

"Woah, nice one, Raven," Sora said, wiping some goo from her face and hair, making her blush and smile.

"Who wants pizza?" Raven offered, making the whole team smile.

(Later, at the Pizza Place)

After cleaning up the streets of Plasmus's muck and making sure the criminal was taken away safely, the team headed towards their favorite pizza place to relax. Their time eventually came down to one last pizza slice, to which everyone tried to claim.

"I deserve the last slice! I was covered in goo!" Cyborg argued.

"We all got covered in goo, Cy! Besides, Raven should get the last slice for dealing the final blow!" Rose said.

"No way, dude! I totally deserve the last slice! I got sneezed on!" Beast Boy argued back.

"I flew through the goo. This slice is mine," Starfire chimed in, suddenly bringing her fist down to shake the table and the entire block. Out of fear, the team slid the slice over to her, making Starfire smile as she pulled out a bottle of mustard. Raven looked around at her friends and smiled, happy that they were enjoying the day.

"You're really quiet today," Sora said, sitting next to her.

"Just enjoying hanging out with my friends and you," Raven said, leaning closer to him. Sora smiled and placed an arm around her shoulders, laughing at everyone arguing over the pizza slices.

(Later, in the forest)

After their stop for pizza, Raven suggested the team go for a hike through the woods and while the team were a little confused, no one said no and soon they were halfway through the forest, with Raven leading the team and Beast Boy in the back. Sora was behind Raven with his arms behind his head.

"Ah, today really is a great day. Couldn't ask for anything better," Sora said.

"Maybe later, we can go on a date? See a movie or something?" Raven offered, taking his hand.

"Sure, did you have anything in mind?" Sora said.

"It doesn't matter, as long as you're there," She replied, the two smiled and hugged as they continued up the mountain.

"DUDE!" Beast Boy suddenly called out from behind and just as quick, Raven turned around, ready to use her powers but the changeling soon popped back up with a penny in his hands.

"Find a penny, pick it up…uh…something, something, something…good luck. It's my lucky day!" Beast Boy said. Raven relaxed and smiled at his excitement.

"Anyone up for a game of Extreme Stankball after lunch?" Cyborg said, holding up said ball.

"Yeah, sure," Raven said, surprising everyone.

"But you hate anything that involves extreme, or stinky," Rose said.

"Maybe I never gave it a chance," Raven replied. Suddenly, Starfire floated up to her.

"Raven, would you still have time to join me in the painting of the toenails later today?" Starfire offered.

"Sounds like fun," Raven agreed again, confusing everyone.

"Okay, Raven, what gives? Pancakes? Pizza? Stankball? Toenails?" Robin asked, suspiciously.

"You're not your usual sarcastic but quiet self either," Rose noted.

"And she hasn't called me stupid all day. Did someone replace Raven with a Raven robot?" Beast Boy asked, suddenly pulling out a metal detector and walks toward her, though Sora stepped in front of them.

"Woah, everyone. Raven just wants us to have a good day, right? There's nothing wrong with that," Sora said. Raven floated away from everyone and turns away from them, confusing Sora.

"Sora's right. Come on guys, we have a lot to do before sunset," Raven said. Immediately after saying that, the sky began to darken as the moon passed over the sun, causing an eclipse. Suddenly, Raven began to jerk back and forth as if an unseen force was controlling her and she turned to the team to show genuine fear in her eyes.

"Raven!" Sora yelled running towards her.

"What's going on?" Beast Boy asked, concerned as the others ran to her aid. They were all too late as Raven fell to the ground on her back, revealing the red marks all over her body again. Sora was the first to reach her as he picked her up, cradling her while her vision blurred in and out of focus.

"Oh no. Not again, please!" Sora begged. Raven slowly came to from the movements to see her friends surrounding her.

"Why didn't you tell us? It's happening, isn't it?" Robin asked.

"Please, Raven. Today is the day? It is…," Starfire asked.

"The end of the world," Raven said quietly. Tears filled her eyes before closing them shut as Sora held her closer, trying to console her as the others looked on in fear and uncertainty. What neither of them knew was that high above in the sky, four, red eyes shone down towards them.

(Later, back at Titans Tower)

The team soon headed back home as they began to prepare themselves for what was to come and the first thing was to make sure Raven was safe. They began heading deep underground with Cyborg carrying Raven while Robin lead the way.

"Okay, everyone. Just as we planned," Robin said.

"Where are you taking me?" Raven asked.

"You said there was nothing we could do. We didn't agree, so we've been readying ourselves for this," Rose said. Reaching another closed door, Robin placed his hand on the palm scanner, opening the door, revealing a large square room with shining walls, ribbons of blue circuitry, a glowing white circle on the floor and on each wall was a rune inscribed in blue. Raven could only look in disbelief.

"You guys did all this for me?" Raven asked.

"We're ready to fight Trigon," Rose replied.

"No. You can't be. Just go. Save yourselves. Sora, you're a keyblade wielder. You can take everyone and leave. Please," Raven begged.

"I'm not leaving you to do this alone Raven. And we're not giving up and I know you aren't either," Sora said, taking her hand.

"The plan is simple. Raven, you are the portal. Trigon needs you to take over the Earth," Robin said.

"But if Trigon can't get to the portal, then he can't take over," Cyborg said.

"So all we must do is keep the Trigon from getting to Raven," Starfire said.

"You can't," Raven said wearily.

"We will," Sora said. The team walk into the chamber while Cyborg sets Raven on her feet.

"You'll be safe in here. Everything's ready. I've installed all the latest state-of-the-art technology. Nothing alive is getting in here," Cyborg explained. Starfire than walked up with one of Raven's books in hand.

"And these symbols should keep out everything else. We took them out of your books," Starfire said.

"Just in case you need some extra mojo," Beast Boy said.

"This is all great but it's not gonna make a difference. Today the prophecy will be fulfilled. Trigon is coming. There's no stopping him," Raven said, turning away from them/

"There's never been a villain we couldn't stop before," Robin said.

"Trigon isn't a villain. He is the incarnation of evil, the source of darkness. The-" Raven said, growing more and more worried.

"Okay. Bad dude. We get it," Beast Boy said.

"No. You don't. You don't know Trigon," Raven said.

"And he doesn't know us," Rose said.

"Stay in here. We'll be watching from up there if you need us," Robin said, pointing up to a broad window set high above the floor. Everyone soon began to head out, leaving Sora and Raven but Beast Boy soon came running back in and placed something in her hands.

"For luck," Beast Boy said before running out. She opened her hands, revealing the penny that he found in the forest.

"All the luck in the world won't help us now," Raven said. Sora took her hand and gave it a squeeze and she looked up to see Sora holding a small box in his hands. "What's that?" She asked.

"I uh, was looking for a birthday present for you but I never imagined waiting so long," Sora said, holding it out to her. She took it from him and opened as her eyes widened and her cheeks turned red at the sight. Inside the box was a black, chained necklace and the pendant hanging from it was in the shape of a raven, the wings fully expanded and in the center of it was a crown similar to Sora's. She looked up towards him to see that he was fidgeting nervously.

"I, uh, asked the jeweler if he could make a new pendant from scratch. The stuff they had didn't really seem like something you would get. I-I hope you like it," Sora said. Raven walked over and embraced him in a hug. Sora stopped talking and looked towards her, waiting for approval.

"I love it Sora. Thank you," Raven replied, making Sora relax and hug her back. The two remained there, trying to find comfort in each other until she pulled away. She held the necklace up to him and he smiled before taking it and placing it around her neck, adjusting the chain until it rested around her neck. "Sora, please. You have to tell them not to do this. Just take them all and go. I'm begging you," She said.

"Raven, I, and especially them, are not just going to leave you here to deal with Trigon. We can beat him, you'll see," Sora said.

"No, you don't understand! Trigon is nothing like the people you fight back home! He'll destroy you all! Please, I just…I don't want to lose you," Raven pleaded. Sora placed a comforting hand on her cheek, trying to calm her.

"I don't want to lose you, too, Rae. But we're not going to let Trigon return. Not without a fight. We'll be up there if you need us. Just say the word," Sora said, kissing her on the lips. "I love you," He said before walking out. Raven watched him leave while twirling the pendant back and forth.

"I love you too. I'm just so sorry that it happened now," She said to herself, while getting into her mediation pose.

(Later)

The team were soon crowded in the control room overlooking the chamber Raven was in. In front of them was a control panel that showed three camera angles: one showed the exterior of the Tower, the second showed the Tower from an overhead angle and the third was an overhead view of Raven in the chamber, meditating with her hood up.

"So far, everything seems pretty much normal," Cyborg reported.

"Yep. Just your normal last day on Earth," Beast Boy replied.

"It's no one's last day," Robin spoke up.

"Everything is going to be okay, yes?" Starfire asked.

"We hope so," Rose said before turning to Sora, who was watching Raven with worry. "Sora, you okay?" She asked, snapping him out of it.

"Hhm, yeah, I'm fine. It's just-I wished I could protect her from this. Not just watch her," Sora said.

"This is the best way, Sora. She knows your there for her," Robin said. Sora nodded in response before turning his attention back to Raven, who was floating in the air and stuck in her own mind.

"They can't stop him. Nothing can stop him. But they're willing to risk everything for me. If anyone could stop Trigon, maybe they could," Raven thought to herself.

"YOU KNOW BETTER THAN TO FILL YOUR HEAD WITH FANCIFUL IDEAS," The voice of Trigon suddenly spoke into her head, scaring her.

"You aren't here. You can't be," Raven said, clutching the penny from Beast Boy in one hand and the necklace still around her neck in the other.

"I AM ALWAYS WITH YOU. YOU ARE PART OF ME, FOREVER," Trigon continued, his shadow beginning to grow over her.

"Get out!" Raven yelled out, when suddenly her surroundings fade away from the chamber to a rocky cavern surrounded by a sea of flames and right below her was a slab of rock. The transition terrified her, now understanding where she was.

"THERE IS NO STOPPING WHAT IS ABOUT TO HAPPEN. THIS IS THE REASON I SIRED. YOU WERE BORN SO I COULD RULE THE EARTH," Trigon responded. Raven stood and turned to see one of the walls had the four red eyes bearing down at her.

"What if I don't let you? What if I don't become the portal?" Raven threatened. Suddenly, a fiery sphere expanded from the eyes, enveloping half the cavern in a near blinding light and making her step back a little.

"IT IS NOT YOUR PLACE TO TELL ME WHAT TO DO! I AM THE ONE WITH ALL THE POWER! I AM THE ONE WHO DECIDES YOUR DESTINY! YOU DO NOT HAVE A CHOICE!" Trigon yelled as the sphere died down, revealing a towering silhouette before her. Raven angrily fires a black beam towards the shadow but it simply raises its hand and blocks the shot with a force field. "YOU WILL ALWAYS BE DADDY'S LITTLE GIRL," Trigon remarked.

"I am nothing like you!" Raven yelled out, when suddenly her eyes turned into one's matching her father, making her back away in fear and disgust, while hiding her face. Trigon walks towards her with heavy, hoofed, footsteps, shaking the chamber.

"YOU WANTED TO PROTECT YOUR FRIENDS, YOUR LOVED ONE, KEEP THEM FROM KNOWING. BUT YOU CANNNOT DENY THE EVIL WITHIN YOU. YOU WILL BRING DESTRUCTION TO EVERYTHING AND EVERYONE. LIKE FATHER, LIKE DAUGHTER," Trigon said, while Raven landed on another stone slab, her back towards him.

"No!" Raven said, quietly.

"YOU CANNOT HIDE FROM YOUR DESTINY," Trigon said to her. Back outside in the control room , the team watched Raven seemingly struggle with the mental conversation.

"The Trigon has contacted her!" Starfire said. Sora quickly stood up from his chair and was about to head in there until Robin stopped him.

"Sora wait!" Robin said.

"Please move! I need to help her!" Sora said.

"She's safest if she stays in there. We have to trust that she can handle it," Robin said. Sora looked down before turning back to Raven.

"He's right. Besides, we've got company," Cyborg said, pointing to the computer screen. Everyone looked to see the screens saying alert and a picture of Slade popped up in the exterior camera. The team quickly ran out of the room, leaving Sora to look towards Raven, who still seemed to be struggling. He placed a hand on the window, in an attempt to give her strength.

"We'll be back. Please be safe," Sora whispered to her before heading out. He quickly catches up with the others and they all head to the roof of the Tower, announcing their appearance to Slade with a huge column of white light that shot towards the sky. One by one, they all jumped or flew down from the roof and landed in front of the entrance, blocking Slade.

"We're ready for you, Slade!" Sora said, pulling out his Oathkeeper keyblade while the rest of the Titans readied themselves.

"Give me the girl," Slade demanded.

"No way!" Robin replied, wielding two fighting staffs in each hand.

"You don't really have a choice in the matter. I'm taking her," Slade retorted.

"Oh, yeah? You and what army?" Beast Boy asked. Suddenly, a huge army of fiery demons emerged from the ground and form up behind Slade and around the team. Their heads were birdlike, tentacle-like arms and no legs. Their appearance gave Slade the advantage in numbers and silenced Beast Boy's retort.

"Next time, never ask that question!" Ravager said, wielding a fighting staff that can shoot electric beams from the ends. Cyborg nodded in agreement to her statement.

"Attack!" Slade ordered. The fiery army began to close in on them but the team quickly breaks apart and begins to attack the demons while Sora charges forth, slicing through multiple demons in the process of heading towards Slade, who remained where he stood.. The keyblade wielder slashed through one more before leaping across the army and landing right in front of the masked criminal. He then ran over and began landing strikes and blizzard spells on Slade, who took all the hits like they were nothing before surprising Sora with a huge fire blast, sending him flying across the island and be surrounded by demons. He gritted his teeth and let out a scream as his clothes turned yellow and the Oblivion keyblade appeared, levitating in his hand. He began slicing away at the army with the two keyblades until a demon rammed into him, sending him reeling into the others.

Ravager suddenly leaps in and begins beating the demons away with her staff, spinning it constantly to create an open space around her before shooting two giants beams of electricity from both ends. Suddenly, several demons arms reached out and restrained her arms, leaving her open to get hit by more strikes.

Robin, meanwhile, kept himself busy by throwing several explosive discs from his keyblade before turning it into a long, red bo-staff and bashing away several creatures away from him, but he too is overwhelmed by the demons.

Starfire soon flies by firing multiple starbolts with her keyblade and landing on the ground. Her keyblade soon turns into a fiery whip-sword and starts lashing away at the demons surrounding her before creating a huge starbolt in her hands, raising it above her, and slamming it down on the ground in a huge ka-boom and destroying many demons. As the smoke cleared, several fiery arms reached up from the ground and ensnared Starfire.

Beast Boy soon comes falling in as he transforms into his Were-Beast form from many months ago and starts swiping at the demons when suddenly a demon lashes out and sends Beast Boy flying high and crashing into the Tower's op center window. The demons begin to float towards the entrance of the Tower when suddenly a blast from Cyborg's cannon cuts a line in front of them and explodes, knocking them away as he lands at the entrance.

"No one's getting in here!" Cyborg proclaimed, as he pressed a button on his left forearm panel. Two cables then pop out from the entrance, connect to Cyborg's back and feed him energy. Then a large circular panel at the center of his back pops out, revealing a huge power cell. The other Titans soon took notice of Cyborg's plan.

"Everyone, form up behind Cyborg, protect him!" Robin yelled as he pulled out a grappling hook and swung over to Cyborg's position. The other Titans soon followed along and began to protect the robotic Titan from the demons. Cyborg continued to gain more power, his shoulders opening up to reveal weapon muzzles, a targeting scope lowers over his eye, a large bazooka like weapon locks into place on his left shoulder, and his arms turn into giant cannons which flare up like flamethrowers. The lights literally go out from the Tower as Cyborg charges up, lock onto Slade and his army, and fires all his weapons all at once, creating a double blast that sweeps the entire island and destroys the army. As the smoke begins to part, Cyborg falls to the ground, the weapons gone and his forearm panel flashing red, indicating that his reserves were near drained.

"Nice one, Cy!" Sora said, casting Cure on everyone. As the smoke clears, smiles turn to feared shock as Slade was still standing there, smoking and his neck askew, though he quickly corrects it. Suddenly, more and more demons rise from the ground, surrounding the team again.

(Meanwhile, with Raven)

Raven was laying on the floor of the chamber unconscious on the outside but on the inside she was awake and still talking with her father.

"YOUR FRIENDS CANNOT STOP THE INEVITABLE. THEY ARE DOOMED," Trigon said, still in shadow. He scoops her up from the ground beneath her feet and lifts her up to his silhouetted face. "DO YOU REALL WANT THEIR LAST DAY TO END LIKE THIS? HOW CAN YOU BEAR TO WATCH THEM SUFFER? YOUR LOVED ONE EVEN?" Trigon asked her.

"Don't hurt them," Raven said, dropping her head in an attempt to hide her four eyes.

"I AM NOT THE ONE HURTING THEM. YOU ARE. YOU KNOW WHAT MUST BE DONE," Trigon replied.

"But, Father…I don't want to," Raven begged. But he did not listen as he lowers her back down.

"YOU CANNOT HIDE FROM YOUR DESTINY," Trigon said, curling his hand into a fist, enclosing around her.

(Back Outside)

The Titans were fighting to their last but were soon overwhelmed one by one: Cyborg being tackled into, Beast Boy, as a T-Rex, being dogpiled, Ravager and Robin being restrained, and Starfire taken out of the sky by a fiery blast. The only one left fighting was Sora, still in Master Form as he sliced through every demon that came his way and casting a Thunder spell, destroying those surrounding him. Suddenly, Slade flew by with a flying kick but Sora managed to dodge and began unleashing a barrage of strikes and bashes towards the masked criminal but once again nothing phased him. Sora leaped and charged towards Slade but he easily caught Sora's wrists in each hand. The keyblade wielder soon began to scream as he felt electricity course through his body, making him drop Oathkeeper and Oblivion and phase out of Master Form. Slade ended the fight by punching Sora in the face with a flame-induced punch, sending him flying into the waiting, restraining arms of the demons, who held the rest of the team.

"Do you really want to spend your last day on Earth fighting?" Slade asked. Sora tried to wrestle free of the creatures but they held tight.

"This not our last day! And you're not taking her!" Sora yelled out. In response, Slade ignites one of his hands and aims it at the struggling Titans, about to fire on them.

"STOP!" Raven's voice suddenly calls out. Slade drops his hand while the Titans are set free as the demons part, revealing the Titan flying by and landing in front of Slade.

"Raven?" Everyone asked confused.

"I will go with you," Raven said to Slade, her eyes back to normal. Sora quickly runs in between them in an attempt to stop her.

"I'm not letting them take you," Sora said.

"Raven, you have to get back in the chamber! Please!" Ravager said.

"I can't hide from my destiny any longer," Raven told them, closing her eyes.

"No!" Robin said. Raven suddenly turned to face them and raised her hand to the air. Suddenly, her magic crackled from her hand and struck each Titan in the chest, making them scream and fly into the air while knocking them out. She then placed them softly on the ground. Raven slowly walked up to Sora and placed her lucky charm on his chest.

"Goodbye. Be safe," Raven said softly. She then got walked over to Slade. "Let's go," She said in a bitter tone as they walked away, leaving the Titans alone on the island.

(Later, in the Library Chamber)

Raven and Slade were soon walking down to the chamber where Trigon is meant to arise with a group of demons behind them.

"The chamber has been prepared for you. Everything is ready for Trigon's ascent," Slade said to her.

"You're a fool. Whatever he promised, he won't deliver," Raven remarked.

"Dear child, you don't know what you're talking about," Slade said.

"You think I don't know my own father?" Raven asked in retort.

"You are merely the portal; an insignificant pawn in Trigon's game," Slade replied.

"Then I guess we have that in common. And once he gets what he wants, you'll be insignificant, too," Raven remarked. The insult hits Slade to the core as he ignites his hands in anger.

"Shut your mouth!" Slade growled out when suddenly the demons reach out and restrain him, bringing him to his knees. "Get off me! Do as I command!" Slade ordered but the demons didn't listen and held him still while forcing him to look up at Raven, who stared back with four red eyes.

"Come to think of it, Slade, you're already insignificant. Even your own army won't listen to you," Raven said, while Slade struggled once more. "Leave him," Raven ordered while walking away. The demons obey and release the masked man, leaving him alone in the corridors.

(Meanwhile, back with the Titans)

Sora slowly cracked his eyes open while releasing a groan. He slowly looked around to see that he and the others were still on the island and just now waking up. He was about to stand when a small weight climbed up to him and licked him on the face.

"Stitch?" Sora asked and Stitch nodded in approval. He slowly got up when he felt something fall into his lap and he grabbed it to see Raven's lucky charm. "Raven…" He said, rubbing a thumb across the raven in the middle. Stitch let out a sad noise in response while other Titans woke up.

"Raven?" Robin asked. Sora sadly shook his head in response.

"She really packs a wallop," Cyborg replied while cracking his neck.

"Why did she do that to us?" Ravager asked.

"Yeah, dude, we were only trying to help her," Beast Boy replied.

"I fear it is too late to assist her," Starfire said.

"No," Sora said, slowly getting up with Stitch on his shoulder and Raven's lucky charm in hand. "It's never too late. I'm not giving up on her and I know you guys aren't either. Cyborg, where is she?" He asked. Cyborg checked his forearm panel and tracked her communicator.

"She's making her way back to the old library," He replied.

"Let's go," Robin said, as everyone got up and headed towards the library.

(Later, in the chamber)

Raven stepped into the chamber in front of the palm statue with the demons behind her as she gazes up at the eclipsed sun. She looks back down before unclasping the necklace around her neck and holds it in her hand next to Beast Boy's lucky penny. She gazes at them for a while until she closes her fingers around them.

"It is time. The prophecy shall be fulfilled," Raven said to herself as the sun moves out of the window frame. She's about to step forward when suddenly a fight breaks out in the back of the chamber. She doesn't even turn as she knows it's her friends coming for her. Suddenly, the demons turn into a huge, fiery, tidal wave and swarm over the Titans, pinning them to the floor.

"Raven! Wait!" Sora screamed. In response, she quickly spins around and sweeps the demons away with a single sweep of her hand, freeing them and allowing them to walk up to her.

"It has already begun. And there's no stopping what is meant to be," Raven said while lowering her hood.

"You can't give up on everything, Raven. Especially on a prophecy you heard as a kid. What if it's all wrong?" Sora asked.

"Sora, I know what I know," Raven said, closing her eyes and lowering her face in response. Sora reached over and lifted her chin to face him.

"I don't believe that, Rae. You still have control. It's your heart, not his. You can stop all of this," Sora said.

"I've known my whole life that this day was going to come. I tried to control the dark side of me. I tried to do good things, to fight evil, and hoped that that would somehow make up for the horrible thing I'm destined to do," Raven replied.

"And you have done great things, Rae. But none of us know our destiny. There are things that none of us can know," Sora said.

"There are some things I didn't know: Like how I would make such wonderful friends. Or that I would find love," Raven admitted, surprising everyone and making Sora blush. "All I wanted was to make your last day perfect. Instead, you spent it worrying about me," She said, turning away from them. Sora walked up to her and took her hand in his, while placing her charm in her palm.

"That's what friends do. And I will always love you," Sora said. She sadly looked down and placed the charm back before backing away from Sora, surprising him.

"And as my friends and since you love me, you have to let me go," Raven said before conjuring a barricade between herself and the team, sealing them completely. Sora looked at the barrier in shock before punching at it in attempt to reach her but the shield holds. Raven gives them one last look before turning back to the pillar and putting her hood up. The floor beneath her begins to shake until they rise up, creating a staircase for her as she ascends to the palm. Sora grits his teeth before summoning his keyblade and aiming the tip at the shield. The blade begins to brighten up before shooting a beam of light at the shield in an attempt to break it while the other Titans slash away at it with their blades. Even Beast Boy turns into a T-Rex and rams into it but no avail. Raven continues up the stair case before finally stepping onto the palm and sits cross-legged in the middle.

"The gem was born of evil's fire. The gem shall be his portal. He comes to claim. He comes to claim. He comes to sire. The end of all things mortal," Raven chanted the prophecy as the red marks appear over her body again and her eyes blaze white.

"NOO!" Sora shouted as his beam finally breaks through the shield, destroying it. Just as quickly, he takes off up the stairs, leaving the other Titans at the bottom to watch as he hurried up. He was about to reach the palm when suddenly Raven breaks her pose and lets out a powerful yell, making the runes fly off her body and form into three spinning circles, one above her head, around her waist, and below her feet while her hood falls down. Sora was about to take her hand when the runes electrocuted him and sent him flying clear off the palm and tumbling down the staircase until he hit the ground. The team ran over to help him up as they watched as tears began to form in Sora's eyes while Starfire found comfort in Robin's arms. Back on the palm, Raven floated in the air in a spread-eagle pose while the runes spun faster around her until a bright, blue light began to gather at her midsection and grow until it nearly enveloped her body.

"Raven!" Sora screamed in fear. The light soon enveloped her head as she closed her eyes. The light soon grew to her hands and she opened them to drop the penny and the necklace. They both fell down the staircase until Sora scrambled to catch them both. He could only stare at the three items in his hands while tears fell from his eyes. "AAAAAAAHHHHH!" Sora screamed out in anguish as the runes join together in the middle until it shrinks down and explodes into a swirling disc of unholy flames, pushing everyone back. The disc soon destroys the pillar and spreads across the floor as waves of red and orange flames shoot out of the disc as the color of the room changes to red and black. Soon the disc begins to open up, shaking the whole room, as a massive figure rose up from the portal. Sora stood up with tears in eyes and gritted teeth with Robin, Ravager, Starfire, Beast Boy, Stitch, and Cyborg behind him as the great demon Trigon stared down at them.

"THE EARTH IS MINE!" Trigon proclaimed. Sora summoned his keyblade as Trigon's shadow falls over him and the Titans.
