Chapter 52: Homecoming-Part 1
(Evening, Titans Tower)
The sounds of blades clashing echoed in the training room as Sora and Raven trained with their keyblades. Each strike made golden stars and black feathers fly from the keys as the two Titans practiced. Ever since Trigon's defeat, the two have been spending more time together, both in and out of Titan life. Whenever they got the chance, they would go out for a bite to eat or see if the bookstore had any new selections for her, though they made it a point to spend as much time with the team as well. Along that time, Sora trained Robin, Starfire, Cyborg, and Raven at least two or three times a week, having them duel amongst themselves. Like the others, Sora noticed that Raven's keyblade increased her already powerful magic, giving her access to more offensive spells, like Dark Firaga and beams of darkness. The only drawback was that her strength remained the same, only slightly stronger than before, meaning that her keyblade was truly powerful at a distance.
Sora reminded himself of her advantage as he dodged more spells from her as she hovered in the air above him. The boy ran up the wall and flipped towards her in the air and took a swing, but Raven quickly created a shield in front of her and blocked the attack, the force, pushing the two back and making them fall to the floor.
"You almost got me there," Raven said, taking her hood off.
"Haha, you're getting better with your reaction times. I know switching back and forth between the key and your magic must be pretty strange," Sora said, dismissing his keyblade. Raven did the same as they walked closer to each other in the center of the room.
"Nothing that I haven't dealt with before. It just takes time, as always," Raven said. The two smile and embraced, happily holding one another.
"Sorry, if I hurt you," Sora said. Raven smiled in response.
"You're fine. You can never hurt me," She answered, making him smile and kiss her on the lips for a few seconds before breaking apart. They breathed a sigh of relief before Sora looked down at her.
"You hungry?" He asked.
"Sure. You cooking? We know what happened last time I cooked," Raven said as the two walked out of the training room holding hands and towards the Ops room.
"Hey, it's the thought that counts, remember...but yeah, they were not good pancakes," Sora admitted, making her chuckle.
"Gee, thanks for being honest, Sora," Raven joked, making him laugh as well. They soon enter the Ops Room only to come across a strange sight; though at this point, strange would be considered normal: Beast Boy was sitting in a bathtub while a red curtain hung behind him with a sign saying: 'Beast Boy's All Star Prop Comedy Revue'. The other Titans were sitting at the table in front of the tub, though only a few were paying attention: Robin was passed out on the table, Cyborg was about to join Robin as his eyes flickered open and closed, Rose was barely paying attention as she sharpened her knives. Starfire and Stitch were the only ones paying full attention to Beast Boy's show.
"I know what you're thinking. There's nothing more annoying than when you can't play your tube in the bathtub," Beast Boy said.
"More annoying than this?" Rose said, checking her knife while Cyborg fell asleep, beginning to snore along with Robin.
"Um, what's going on here?" Sora asked.
"Shhh! Please, continue," Starfire spoke up. The changeling smiled and put on a pair of swim goggles.
"Well, that won't be a problem if you have a tuborkel," Beast Boy said, holding up a huge tuba with the lead pipe extended and bent to resemble a snorkel tube. "Get it? It's part tube, part snorkel. Tuborkel. Huh? Well?" Beast Boy asked, beginning to play a tune from the tuba, making Raven and Rose groan while Starfire and Stitch to look on in awe.
"Well, it's something unique," Sora said, running his hands through his hair.
"Unique and still stupid," Raven said. Suddenly, the alarm blares across the room, waking up Robin and Cyborg and scaring everyone else as the Ops computer screen flared up.
"INTRUDER ALERT! INTRUDER ALERT!" The computer blared. Cyborg smiles and pumps his fist.
"All right! We're under attack!" He said, making Beast Boy glare at him with an annoyed look. The changeling ditches the goggles and tuborkel as suddenly a flying object smashes through the floor and hovers a few feet away from the Titans. The object was a basketball-sized, gray sphere with a monitor set in front of it. The team ready themselves for an attack but the sphere does nothing hostile, confusing them.
Then…why isn't it attacking us?" Rose said, putting her knives away. Beast Boy walks in front of the sphere and looks at the Titans with a glum look in his eye.
"Because it's for me," Beast Boy said. The rest of the team power down as Beast Boy turns to face the sphere. It starts scanning him from head to toe until the screen comes to life, showing a masked man. He wore a similar suit to Beast Boy but his had a large lightning bolt on his chest and his mask was made up of a magenta-colored helmet with two small antennae on top and a magenta-colored eye mask.
"Beast Boy, if this locator pod has found you, then you know what it means," The man said.
"The Doom Patrol's in trouble," Beast Boy said, surprising the Titans.
"The Doom who?" Sora asked.
"Shh!" Raven said as the man continued the message.
"Our last location was in the Amazon jungle. You should begin your search there. Beast Boy, you know what must be done. I'm counting on you," The man said before the transmission cut out.
"You were part of the Doom Patrol?!" Cyborg and Rose asked in shock.
"We better get going now. We're gonna have a lot of ground to cover," Beast Boy said, walking out of the room.
"I'm sorry but who's the Doom Patrol?" Sora asked, confused with Starfire sharing it.
"We have a lot of explaining to do," Rose said as the team went to get ready.
(Later, in the Amazon Jungle)
In no time at all, the Titans packed everything they needed and took off in the T-Ship, leaving Stitch and Silkie behind at the Tower. As they flew to the jungle, the team rewatched the message to make sure nothing was missed while Sora was given a crash-course of the Doom Patrol and their many adventures. He looked through each photo to see each of the members: One was a huge, orange robot wearing only black shorts and a black harness strapped around his chest and his name was Robot Man; another member was a woman with shoulder-length brown hair and a short magenta skirt instead of black and purple pants and her name was Elasti-Girl; the third member was a man who had his forearms and head wrapped in mummy-like gray cloths and his name was Negative Man; and the final member was the man on the message and the leader of the team, Mento.
"Wow, these guys have been through a lot," Sora said, reading through the stories.
"They sure have. I remember reading about them when I was with Slade," Ravager said.
"What for?" Starfire asked.
"Mainly for a contract. It wasn't to attack but to observe and see if they had any weaknesses. And it was before Beast Boy joined them," Ravager said.
"And I'm guessing you started focusing on us when we were formed right?" Raven asked.
"Exactly," Ravager confirmed with a nod. Meanwhile, the T-Ship soon reached the Jungle and began to hover above the tree lines looking for any sign of the Doom Patrol.
"What could have happened to them?" Robin asked.
"It's the Brotherhood of Evil. After we stopped their black hole machine years ago, they went underground. Mento must have finally found them," Beast Boy said after rewatching the message again.
"I'm-I'm sorry, a what machine?!" Sora asked.
"A black hole machine. They were going to use it transport any target of their choosing into an endless abyss," Beast Boy said.
"Wow. That's scary to think about," Sora said.
"Hey guys, I'm picking something up," Cyborg said, and everyone looked to see a blip appearing on the radar. They land the T-Ship gently and begin looking around for the blip. They push past a huge patch of bush and stop in shock at what they find hiding behind it.
"Beast Boy, is this-?" Starfire asked.
"The Doom Patrol's ship," Beast Boy said, taking a step toward the ship. It was a white, high-altitude cruiser that suffered from a horrible wreck and the only recognizable part of the vehicle was the tail end and the rust on the plane shows that it's been resting there for quite awhile.
"Or what's left of it," Ravager said. They start looking through the wreckage for any clues of the Doom Patrol's whereabouts but unfortunately come up short.
"Well, nobody's home," Cyborg said, checking his forearm panel for any life signs but got nothing in response.
"Then we start looking," Robin said.
"They could be anywhere," Raven replied.
"Then we'll look everywhere," Beast Boy said, running through the trees.
"Well, better than not looking," Sora said, following the changeling, with the team coming along. They catch up to Beast Boy, who stays in the lead as he pushes tree branches out of his way.
"This Patrol of Doom, why do you never speak of them?" Starfire asked.
"Yeah, seriously. The Doom Patrol are legends. You gotta have some good stories," Cyborg said.
"It was something I did once. I'm a Titan now," Beast Boy said before suddenly turning to face them with an annoyed look on his face. "You're moving too slow!" He yelled, turning into a bird and flying further into the jungle, leaving the Titans behind.
"That was strange, even for him," Ravager spoke up, making Robin turn to face them.
"I think he's just worried. The Doom Patrol raised him. They're like his family," Robin said.
"Hopefully, we find them quick," Sora said.
"NOOOO!" Beast Boy's voice suddenly echoed across the jungle. They make a break further into the forest to see Beast Boy standing in front of a tree and looking up into the branches with an open mouth. They follow his gaze and share his shock as they see an out of commission, Robot Man hanging from the branches, wrapped in vines. Some of his body panels were cracked, revealing the wires underneath and a sign hung from his neck that read: "TRESPASSERS BEWARE" in bold red writing.
"Oh my," Sora could only say as Beast Boy went to shake Robot Man's leg to try and wake him up.
"Robot Man! Come on! Wake up! It's me, Beast Boy!" The green Titan yelled, quickly turning to Cyborg. "Cyborg, you have to fix him!" He begged.
"I'll do everything I can," Cyborg said, turning his finger into a small torch. Ravager used her sword to cut the vines and letting the Doom Patrol member free. Starfire caught him and set him down gently against the tree as Cyborg started working on Robot Man's circuit boards. He starts welding away at them as the Titans crowd around in concern.
"I'm picking up brain waves. He's alive in there…somewhere," Cyborg said.
"Brain waves?" Sora and Starfire asked together.
"The only part of him that's actually alive. The rest is just machine. In a lotta ways, he's a prototype of me," Cyborg said, repairing the open circuitry.
"That… can't be all is it? His heart maybe?" Sora asked.
"No, just the brain. All of who he is comes from it," Cyborg said.
'Wow, is that what it was like for the Nobodies at first? Just their bodies and minds…no hearts?' Sora thought to himself. Raven noticed his thoughtful look and took his hand in her own, snapping him out of it.
"You okay?" She asked.
"Y-yeah. Just reminded me of something else," Sora said.
"Alright, cross your fingers," Cyborg said, pressing a button on the center of his chest panel. Suddenly, Robot Man's eyes and neck joint glowed pure white and he bolted upright instantly, scaring the team.
"Mento! I'm on my way!" Robot Man screamed before taking off in a full sprint.
"Robot Man, stop!" Beast Boy yelled but the orange robot didn't listen, and Sora and Robin had to dodge to avoid being shoulder checked by him, though the trees weren't so lucky. The team regrouped to see a clean path now made from Robot Man.
"Doesn't waste any time, does he?" Ravager asked.
"C'mon, we can't lose him," Beast Boy said, running down the path. The team followed along as they heard explosions not far ahead of them.
"Shouldn't be too hard," Raven commented. Soon, smoke started floating in the air and they followed it to see a building not far off, surrounded by multiple destroyed turrets and a large door that has been busted down by Robot Man. They catch up to him as he starts looking around the empty, dark room, though they could see a ceiling-mounted emitter above a circular platform on the floor.
"Mento! Elasti-Girl!" Robot Man yelled, his voice echoing across the room.
"Cliff, what's going on?" Beast Boy asked as his fellow Doom Patrol member kept looking around the room.
"An ambush…came outta nowhere…Negative Man! They can't have gotten far," Robot Man replied, not really paying attention to them.
"Robot Man!" Cyborg said, catching his attention. "I had to reset your internal chronometer when I repaired you. You've been offline," he said.
"How long?" Robot Man asked, walking up to them and crossing his arms. "I said, how long?!" He asked again, glaring down at Beast Boy. The changeling returned with a glance before looking down at the ground.
"Five months," Beast Boy answered, surprising both Robot Man and the Titans, sans Cyborg. Robot Man's face quickly turned to a combination of shock and anger.
"FIVE MONTHS!" Robot Man screamed while punching the nearby wall in anger. "I was shut down for five months?! Why'd they have to build me with an OFF switch?" The Doom Patrol member asked himself.
"Don't be so hard on yourself. When we found you, it looked like quite a fight," Ravager said, while Robot Man walked back to them.
"We should've been able to handle it. We always do," Robot Man replied, eyeing the Titans one by one. "This is your new group? It's just a buncha kids!" He spoke.
"Hey!" Sora said.
"Nice to see you, too, Cliff," Beast Boy retorted, making his fellow member look down.
"Sorry, squirt. They got us good, kid. We thought we had 'em," Robot Man replied, solemnly.
"It's not too late, Cliff. We can still find 'em," Beast Boy said.
"You better believe we will. I'm gonna squash that Brain if it's the last thing I do," Robot Man answered, punching his fist into his palm.
"I think he was talking about finding the Doom Patrol," Raven spoke up.
"Uh? Ri-uh, right," Robot Man stuttered. Suddenly, the ground began to shake as everyone turned to see the forest shaking and a flock of birds flying off into the distance as two trees fell over.
"What is that?" Ravager asked.
"Take cover. We don't know what we're up against," Robin ordered.
"Uh, you might want to tell that to him," Cyborg said, pointing at the now charging Robot Man, who ran headfirst into the forest.
"Wow, he sure is brave," Sora said.
"You sure he has a brain in there?" Raven asked. The question went unanswered as suddenly Beast Boy ran after his team member, surprising the Titans.
"Titans! Go!" Beast Boy yelled.
"You heard him. Go!" Robin yelled after a small beat of silence. The team run into the forest to see a giant tank-like machine armed with two long, clawed arms and a giant mine cart attached to the back of it. They were about to attack when suddenly Robot Man leaped onto the robot with a battle cry. The machine brought one of its claws down on him, but the metal man managed to catch it. The two struggled for a bit until the tank grabbed hold of him, spun around and threw the Doom Patrol member away into some nearby grass. He lands in a crouch but is soon crushed further into the dirt by one of the metal arms. Robot Man slowly raises his head to see one of the buzzsaw arms heading straight towards him. Suddenly, Beast Boy, as an elephant, came dropping in and crushed the arm in half with his weight while Robot Man stood back up.
"Not bad, kid," Robot Man commented.
"Just wait til you see my- "Beast Boy said but was interrupted by one of the tank's claws knocking him away. Robot Man was also knocked away by the other arm as the rest of the Titans caught up with them and engaged the tank. Robin and Ravager leap into the air and throw multiple explosive discs and knives at the machine but they have no effect as it fires a red laser at them from its top eyeball. They run and dodge for cover as Sora and Raven charge ahead of them, the blue-cloaked Titan levitating boulders and throwing them with her keyblade while Sora casts his Ragnarok spell, the projectiles hitting but doing no damage to the tank as it smashed the boulders into pieces. Starfire and Cyborg attack next, with each launching projectiles from their keyblade until the tank snatched Starfire in its claw, though she managed to pry the talons apart and fire at the hinge points with her eyebeams. Cyborg remains on the ground and shoots multiple rockets at the tank, but nothing stopped the machine as it rolled forward.
"How do you stop this thing?" Cyborg asked out loud when suddenly, Robot Man sprinted past him, dodging the claw arms and ran up them like an ant and reaching the top head of the tank. The machine fires at him but the laser has no effect at all as the Doom Patrol member disabled it with a single punch, ripped off the head and hopped inside. The Titans regroup and stand back as multiple explosions erupt from inside the tank as bits of debris fall around them.
"That was most…daring," Starfire said.
"I was gonna say 'unnecessary'," Raven replied.
"At this point I was okay with anything," Ravager said.
"Is he alright in there by the way?" Sora asked. His question was answered when another explosion destroyed the tank completely, as Robot Man walked out of the smoke with not a single scratch on him.
"Robot Man! I know you want to stop the Brain but we're never going to find him unless we work together. Attacking everything that moves isn't going to help," Robin said.
"If he builds it, I'm gonna break it. That's the way we do things in the Doom Patrol," Robot Man said, crossing his arms over his chest.
"Well, in case you haven't noticed, we aren't the Doom Patrol," Sora spoke up, making the veteran grumble to himself.
"Cliff, this is the way it has to be, at least until we find Mento," Beast Boy replied.
"This isn't kid stuff, Beast Boy. You think you can handle it?" Robot Man retorted, walking away from them.
"You have no idea what we can handle," Beast Boy said, walking after him.
"At least be grateful that we saved him," Ravager replied as they followed the green Titan. Robot Man soon led them to a high ridge where they can see far more tanks cutting down trees and putting them into their carts.
"The Brain built these things to scavenge raw materials. He's got the whole jungle crawling with them," Robot Man said while Robin took a closer look with his binoculars.
"So, if we follow one, it might lead us to the Brain," Robin said, lowering his lenses.
"Well, aren't you the clever one?" The Doom Patrol retorted, making Robin glare at him. As the tree cutters move on, the Titans follow along from a safe distance as day turns to night. Soon the tank they were following heads toward a wide canyon covered in trees and a huge fortress built at the end, blocking the end. Each end had a wing built into the sides as Robot Man and the Titans stop at another ridge to overlook it.
"I think we found it," Ravager said.
"Any idea what 'it' is?" Raven asked.
"That's the Brotherhood of Evil alright. Mento and the others should be there," Robot Man said.
"Who are these guys, anyway?" Sora asked.
"The Brotherhood is an organization of criminals with one single goal in mind: complete world domination. Mento can tell you about the others but the big guy in charge is The Brain, the mastermind behind all of this," Robot Man said.
"Why is he called that?" Ravager asked.
"Because he's a literal brain in a jar," Beast Boy said. Most of the team shared a look before shaking in disgust.
"Yeah, you'll be disgusted at first then you'll be annoyed. The Brain is one smart cookie," Robot Man replied. After a little while of studying the fortress and its security, Robin walked over to them, proposing a plan.
"From here, we split up. Cyborg and Robot Man, you'll take the front. Starfire and Raven, take out those guard towers. Beast Boy and Sora, you gotta get the security door open," The Boy Wonder suggested when suddenly more tremors interrupted him and they all looked behind them to see three more tree cutters, the very materials they were hunting crushed under their wheels.
"And what about these guys?" Robot Man asked as the tanks readied their claws. "Now can I beat them up?" He asked, while the Titans readied themselves.
"Titans Go!" Robin yelled, all of them charging at once. In no time at all, they destroyed all the tree cutters and snuck towards the fortress, seeing several armed soldiers walking around.
"Any ideas for how we get in?" Sora asked. The team thought to themselves until Robot Man ran back over to the destroyed tree cutters.
"What is he doing?" Starfire asked. The Doom Patrol member then heaved up a huge piece of the tank before sprinting over to the fortress and tossing it right into the walls, making a huge crash noise and creating a hole right into the heart of the stronghold.
"Well, he sure knows how to make entrances," Ravager replied, when some blaster fire flew past them from the now alert soldiers. They quickly deal with the security outside while Robot Man leaped into the hole.
"Won what? Sure, ain't a beauty contest," Robot Man quipped.
"Your tin soldier seems to be fixed, Mento," A robotic voice spoke up. The Titans soon joined Robot man in the hole to see a huge workroom surrounded with huge red banners with a white skull insignia on it and balconies in the middle with guards standing on them. In the center of the workroom was a huge emitter-like machine like the one from the first building, only this one was working. Along with the guards stood a giant gorilla with a sliver bandolier around his chest and holding a glowing tube with a dot in the center named Monsieur Mallah, The Brain was set in a stand with the front decorated as a stylized skull and the Doom Patrol members all still trapped in their little prisons: Mento was hanging by his wrists from a levitating platform while a small cable was attached to his head, Elasti-Girl was trapped in a spherical, transparent cell, and Negative Man was separated from his black soul in two separate cylinder cells.
"You can thank us for that," Beast Boy replied.
"Oh, look. The little green one. How nice. A family reunion," The Brain said. Robot Man and the Titans soon charge and engage the guards. Robin and Ravager team up on the balcony to defeat the soldiers stationed there; Beast Boy turns into a T-Rex and stomps through the guards while Robot Man throws several of them away; Starfire shoots at the soldiers with starbolts and Fire Spells while Cyborg turns his keyblade into a giant fist and knocks several of them away with a single sweep. Sora and Raven protect each with their magic until Sora gets an idea.
"Care to join me?" He asked with a smile.
"Nothing to crazy I hope," Raven asked.
"Just hold on," Sora answered, taking her hand. He then raised his keyblade into the air as a burst of light appeared. Suddenly, a splash of water appeared around them as a circular ride lifted them off into the air. They soon started jumping around while a stream of water followed them. The Brotherhood soldiers ran from the ride but were soon taken out by the water and /or ride. The Brain and Mallah stand further back until places the tube safely on his bandolier and charges straight for Robot Man. The gorilla lets out a mighty roar and brings both fists down on the orange robot, but he dodges out of the way and manages to land a punch of his own. Mallah shakes off the strike and punches Robot Man away, knocking him to the ground. More guards run past him as he looks up to see Mallah falling right towards him with fists at the ready to destroy. Robot Man quickly grabs the gorilla's arms and uses his foot to flip him across the room. They continue to hold off the guards as Robot Man and Cyborg free Elasti-Girl and the human side of Negative Man.
"Thanks…whoever you are," Elasti-Girl said to Cyborg, who helped her off the ground.
"'Whoever you are?' Hey, I've saved the Earth, several times," Cyborg remarked. Meanwhile, Starfire flew over to Negative Man's soul and used her keyblade to create a hole for it. The soul flew out in a solid stream past the Titans and guards before finding its home in Negative Man, making him shudder.
"Could you have at least thawed me out first?" Negative Man said to Robot Man. Suddenly, Mallah charged up a huge laser cannon and fired a huge beam at the Titans, making them take cover. Sora and Raven continue riding around in the Attraction when Mallah's cannon destroyed it. They almost fall but quickly catch themselves in the air as they join the team in engaging Mallah. Meanwhile, Mento was still imprisoned until The Brain rolled past him. Taking a chance, he used his powers to look into the leader's mind and what he saw made him recoil in shock and fear.
"No!" He yelled. The Brain took notice of the intrusion and suddenly his jar boiled green and the eyes of the skull glowed red. The platform Mento was attached suddenly crackled with energy as Mento was shocked all over his body. Suddenly, Beast Boy, as an ankylosaurus, landed behind The Brain and used his tail to smack it away, making the mastermind skid across the ground and crash into a group of guards like a bowling ball. The green Titan then turns into a bear and with two swipes of his claws, frees his former leader. He turns back into human while Mento falls to the ground.
"Mento, I'm here! I got your message!" Beast Boy exclaimed.
"Beast Boy look out!" Ravager yelled behind him. He turned around only to be shot in the gut by Mallah's laser, driving him back into the wall. Mento stood back up with determination in his eyes as the Doom Patrol members and Teen Titans group up behind him.
"All of you! Take 'em down!" Mento yelled, releasing a psychic blast that pushes Mallah and the guards away while overloading the machine in the center of the room. Elasti-Girl grew large and smash her fist against the ground sending multiple guards flying while Negative Man's soul flew out and rammed into more soldiers. Starfire, Raven, and Sora took to the skies and cleared out the guards in the back while creating shields for the others. Mallah keeps up the barrage with his laser cannon until Ravager comes flying in and cuts the cannon cleanly in half with her blades. The gorilla looks shocked until she and Robin unleash a series of punches and kicks until backflipping away from a counterattack. Raven suddenly appears in front of Mallah and unfurls her cape, revealing Sora and Cyborg. They each shoot their respective projectiles at the gorilla, sending the second-in-command flying crash landing next to The Brain as the glowing tube slides away from them. Mento clears out the rest of the guards with another psychic blast as Mallah stood back up with the tube in hand.
"Fools rush in, don't they, Monsieur Mallah?" The Brain commented. Suddenly, a row of hatches open high up on the walls, revealing hidden blasters underneath. They all fire beams of energy that form into force field around the Doom Patrol and Teen Titans. They try to break free, but their powers have no effect.
"Oh, great," Negative Man commented as he looked at the overloading machine caused by Mento's blast. It soon started exploding inside making the whole fortress shake.
"And a thermogenic chain reaction. Well done, Mento. I couldn't have found a better end for you myself," The Brain commented. Suddenly, a large hatch opened from the floor, revealing a huge rocket that was lifted into the air. The ceiling opens above it as a small door opens at the base for The Brain and Monsieur Mallah. Meanwhile, Beast Boy wakes up from being shot before to see both of his teams trapped in a force field, the fortress exploding and the Brotherhood of Evil escaping by rocket.
"Beast Boy! Stop them!" Mento ordered.
"So now I exist," Beast Boy said to himself bitterling. Suddenly, more explosions erupt from the machine, causing another tremor.
"This place is coming down! You gotta get us out!" Cyborg yelled.
"Please! You must hurry!" Starfire said.
"Never mind us! Get that power core!" Mento ordered again. Beast Boy stands there conflicted with the two objectives set before him. Pieces of the wall begin to fall around him while The Brain enters the rocket.
"Difficult choice, is it not?" Mallah replied, in a French accent, while looking at the power core. He soon joins his leader as Beast Boy slowly begins to move toward his teams.
"Beast Boy! Don't make the same mistake twice! Do what I say!" Mento demanded again. Beast Boy looks towards the rocket to see the hatch already sealed. Beast Boy lowers his head before looking back up with a look of determination. He quickly turns into a falcon and flies around the blasters, using his talons to destroy each and everyone. The force field goes down as Beast Boy rejoins them while the explosions increase.
"Raven let's go!" Robin yelled.
"Right!" She said, creating a field around everyone and transporting them all out of the fortress and to the ridge that overlooked it. They all got out of the field as the fortress exploded in a huge fireball.
"You did it, Beast Boy," Robin said, placing a comforting hand on the changeling's shoulders.
"And just in the nick of time," Cyborg said.
"We are most thankful," Starfire said.
"Great job, Beast Boy," Sora said while Raven and Ravager smiled. Everyone then turns to see the Doom Patrol standing behind them. Beast Boy looks back at the fortress before taking a breath and walks over to them.
"I got everyone out safe," Beast Boy said.
"But you let the Brain get away. How could you be so foolish?" Mento said, angrily.
"Mento…" Elasti-Girl spoke up, but Mento stopped her.
"He just saved our lives. How about you drop the attitude and say thanks?" Ravager said, walking up to them and crossing her arms as the rest of the Titans join her.
"Yeah, doesn't that mean anything to you at all?" Sora asked.
"No. He's only delayed our destruction," Mento replied.
"You'll keep looking for him, just like you always did…sir," Beast Boy said.
"You don't understand. I read the Brain's mind, Beast Boy. He has a new quantum generator, and it works. The most devastating power in the cosmos is now in the hands of a madman…because you couldn't follow orders!" Mento said with an unflinching glare, making Beast Boy look down to the ground. "We've got a planet to save. Doom Patrol! Move out!" Mento ordered, walking past his team. The fellow members share a glance to Beast Boy before following him.
"Wouldn't mind knocking some sense into him," Cyborg commented.
"He's not wrong though," Raven said.
"C'mon, let's at least find a place to make camp, looks like it'll rain soon," Sora said, looking at the clouds.
"Agreed, this way," Robin replied, following the Doom Patrol. The Titans join him as they disappear into the forest.
And that is the end! I hope you guys enjoyed this chapter and the beginning of Season 5. I apologize if Sora didn't as big of a part and if the chapter was short since this is the intro episode for the Doom Patrol and the Brotherhood of Evil, but it will get better. By the way, I'll also be removing the episodes Go! And Revved Up since Go! Is the prequel episode and Revved Up is just full-on filler, not that its bad or anything, it just serves no purpose to the long running story. By the way: HAPPY NEW YEARS! I know its late but why not? Now onto the reviews:
Wlyman2009: I plan to do Trouble in Tokyo after the KH3 section as sort of like during the Remind and Melody of Memory.
XenoBlaze: Yeah, things are going to get crazy as things come to a wrap. Glad your enjoying the story so far my friend. And no I won't be doing to the Teen Titans x Teen Titans Go movie since a) I haven't watched it and b) I don't like Teen Titans Go! Happy Holidays!
Althea Sirius: They really do. I just like the idea of Sora and Raven being together. Glad you likes the ending.
UmbranKeyblade: That's my bad. Sorry. Glad you liked the chapter and thanks again for all the help you given me my friend.
3bodyjaa: Thanks, glad you like it. Hope you stick around for more.
JokerGames1999: Superboy has already appeared in the chapter "The Quest". As for Ms. Martian and Supergirl, I'll have to think about how to introduce them.
Kegeto: Thanks glad you liked the chapter. Beast Boy will get a keyblade but not Rose. Not to be mean or anything but just not to overdo on the keyblades. So, I'm just keeping it to the main five. I hope you understand. And I think you did but no Riku won't visit him.
NinjaFang1331: Thanks a lot. Glad you enjoyed the chapter.
God of the Challenge: I'm not sure you did but no they won't show up. At least not until Sora can summon them like in KH3. Anyway, you can share your ideas with me through private messaging. We can talk there.
Khy Dragon: Happy New Year to you my friend!
