"Why Rukia is so angry at As Nodt for almost killing Byakuya that she achieved Bankai"
Rukia had always lived a lonely existence, traveling from district to district to survive ever since she left the forest where she was abandoned, not knowing who she was or where she came from.
Then she met Renji and the others in Inuzuri and decided to stay with them, finally finding the family she had never had and a sense of belonging.
But good days never last long. Her childhood friends died one after another until only Renji was left. Realizing that they would meet a dog's death if they stayed in Rukongai, Rukia decided they should become shinigami.
At the academy, she realized her weakness. Slowly, Renji became distant as he was promoted and grew stronger. She was saddened by their growing distance but happy for his achievements. She had once been the stronger and more talented of the two, but now he had surpassed her.
Not long after, she was offered a chance to enter the Gotei 13 immediately—if she accepted the Kuchiki clan's offer to adopt her as the daughter of the main house, making her the sister of Captain Kuchiki of Squad 6. The offer made no sense to her, leaving her speechless and unable to protest. Her heart filled with sadness, knowing that accepting would mean losing Renji. The Kuchikis were nobles, and they didn't mingle with commoners.
Before she could answer, Renji arrived, prompting the guests to leave. Yet, despite their absence, the weight of the offer hung in the air, pressing down on her.
"They want to adopt me," she softly whispered.
Silence reigned in the room before Renji suddenly shook her shoulders and congratulated her, urging her to accept the offer.
Rukia looked at him in shock and disbelief. Then sadness enveloped her.
"I see," she said while gently removing Renji's hands from her shoulders. "Thank you for everything," she whispered before running away, tears streaming down her face.
Her heart ached at the thought that Renji would so easily push her to be adopted by strangers, knowing they wouldn't be together anymore.
She ran to her room and locked herself in the bathroom, shedding the tears she could no longer hold back.
Abandoned.
She was abandoned yet again.
The next day, when the messenger arrived, Rukia accepted the offer after crying her heart out through the night.
At the Kuchiki manor, Rukia was welcomed by the servants. After her introduction, she became the princess of the Kuchiki clan, envied and hated by everyone around her. The elder brother she now had was so distant and indifferent toward her that she no longer knew where she belonged or who she was.
Days turned into a week. Rukia felt like a prisoner in the manor, surrounded by luxuries that only made her feel more isolated.
Renji no longer visited her. Byakuya wouldn't even look at her. And people whispered cruel gossip behind her back.
