Author's note:
Hello everyone! I am glad to welcome you to the series of articles about the Nasuverse universe. This fanfic will be a collection of essays and discussions concerning various characters, misconceptions and other phenomena of the Nasuverse.
In this first article, I would like to talk a little about Extraverse, since December was the anniversary of a landmark event - the English patch Fatex/Extra CCC. What a Great Christmas gift it was back then!
Just think about it: it took Iwakura Productions more than (!) 10 years to fully translate the game and they finished it. I have great respect and a deep bow to them!
Why is this a landmark event? The thing is that Fate/Extra CCC is the last game in the Fate universe written by Nasu (in the usual sense of the word, FGO does not count, and Avalon Lostbelt is a completely different topic for conversation).
First of all, it should be noted that Nasu always dreamed of creating a JRPG in the Fate universe, the prerequisites for this can be seen in the FSN class system (I will also write a chapter about it later), and the culmination was supposed to be Fate/Apocrypha, which was originally conceived by Nasu as a JRPG.
You can find the original character designs from different artists in Artubs, but the big bosses didn't like this idea and gave all the work to other people, and as a result we got Fate/Apocrypha Novels (yes, FGO players, Apocrypha was originally a Light Novels series).
Even during the development of Fate/Extra, the project's producer Nino Kazuya proposed the idea of creating a plot centered on the secondary heroine Sakura Matou, who played one of the main roles in Fate/stay night. Later, Kinoko Nasu supported this idea when, against the backdrop of the success of Fate/Extra, it was decided to create a continuation of this part of the Fate franchise. The project was called Fate/Extra CCC.
CCC was written as Nasu's last work in the Fate series without taking into account third-party writers, so Nasu realized all his ideas there, which he had since the start of work on the series, which resulted in his Fate magnum opus. In an interview, Nasu himself admitted that he was both the director and the scriptwriter of the game.
Fate/Extra CCC is the most unique title in the Fate series due to its extraordinary and unique nature. It also serves as an example of how to properly use fanservice and sexualization so that all this is appropriate in the context of the work.
Nasu wanted to write CCC in the seinen genre (if shounen is for teenage boys who go to school, then seinen is for university students and older people), where various spicy and intimate topics would be touched upon, and all this was influenced by his love for the work of Kunihiko Ikuhara. Therefore, the central plot of CCC has a lot in common with Shoujo Kakumei Utena. This can be seen not only in the plot, but also in the entire aesthetics of the work, which seems to combine the visual techniques of Kunihiko Ikuhara and Akiyuki Shimbo.
The idea of CG, "bold scenes" like the one where Hakunon/Zabiko (Female Hakuno) takes off Pantsu and gives them to Rani, character designs, and Kiara's NP - there are plenty of examples.
The gameplay is very primitive, like the first Extra, but CCC is betting on the plot. It is much more like a visual novel, placing a noticeable emphasis on textual narration and character development, while easily mixing exciting drama with comedy segments.
After CCC, all of Nasu's other works in the Fate universe became, how can I put it... "Toothless".
In OG, FSN had the eroge genre and in Sakura's route sex was justified from a lore point of view.
In Fate/Hollow Ataraxia, all of the sex scenes were moved to Eclipse.
Fate/Extra is a crude hint that Rani/Rin had sex with Hakuno's Servant (Nero/Archer/Tamamo) for a mana transfer, while Hakuno tried to spy on it. Tamamo liked it even more than Nero.
Fate/Extra CCC is truly the most impressive on this topic in its genre.
FGO? Well, PG-13 (or whatever the rating is)... As for Avalon Lostbelt, it was created before FGO came out, and Caster Cu voice lines contained spoilers for it LONG before FGO Part 2 came out.
Alright, let's move on to the topic!
The Difference in History.
FSN Archer(EMIYA) and Extra Archer(Namelees/Mumei) are both described as "similar stories and different people". Let's take a look at the differences between them.
FSN Archer is from the "Good" ending of Fate Route, as Nasu once said in an old interview.
EMIYA, like Shirou, was saved by Kiritsugu from the fire of Angry Mango and forever remembered his smile.
Nameless's story begins to differ already at this point. In Extraverse, Nameless's flashback scene is described as follows:
"A torrent of blood flows, and voice resonating with bitter resentment can be heard. Lives fade away without a thought. Friends, family, strangers: All gone. Soliders with guns, families trying to hold together."
From this description, we can conclude that the disaster Nameless experienced is completely different from what EMIYA/Shirou experienced.
Moving on, the Holy Grail War. With EMIYA, it's clear, it was a Fate Route, roughly the same as what we saw in FSN Novel.
What about Nameless?
He also participated in HGW, also summoned Saber. All the other participants are the usual FSN Cast, since Nameless knew Tohsaka Rin, and also mentioned that Extra!Shinji is a much nicer person than the original Shinji.
What route was it? Not one of the original three, a kind of "fourth route", similar to Lord El Melloi. But we do know that it included both Fate and UBW.
I'll explain why now.
1) Deep relationship with Saber. During the battle with Gawain, Nameless gives him a whole lecture on Saber's rule, saying only good things about her. In CCC, he is able to use her Excalibur, and later we are told that in order to copy the NP of "Holy Sword Level", the support of the original owner or a close connection with him is required. Unlike UBW Shirou, who learns details about Saber's past from EMIYA, Nameless figured it all out on his own.
2) Befriending an adult Shinji Matou, who was his comrade (Shinji is shown standing behind Nameless when we are told his story in Fate/Extra). In Fate Route, Shinji is killed by Berserker, and in HF Route by Sakura. In UBW Route, Shinji not only survives, but also changes his outlook on life, ceasing to be an asshole.
3) In a conversation with Hakuno, it is implied that Rin (not to be confused with the Rin in Moon Cell) was his girlfriend. Nameless denies this, but this is most likely due to the fact that Extra!Rin/Moon Cell Rin (who is blonde in the real world) and Rin are different people, although they are related (Tokiomi banged some foreigner). Evidence of this can be seen in the image of a young Extra!Rin playing on the beach with her older sibling (Rin) by several years.
So from the UBW Route, the romantic relationship with Rin and the friendly relationship with the reformed Shinji were inherited, and from the Fate Route, the close relationship with Saber.
After HGW comes the 'Magus Mercenary' arc, where their history is more or less similar, since both EMIYA and Nameless wear the Red Holy Shroud, which was given to them by Ciel.
I am inclined to believe that the red scarf that Nameless/Emiya Alter wore is this Shroud, simply modified for convenience.
Even though EMIYA and Nameless both aspired to become Heroes of Justice, their methods were different.
EMIYA completely immersed himself in his ideals and ultimately became completely alone (Rin abandoned him).
Nameless, on the other hand, had many friends, supporters, and sympathizers. That is, unlike EMIYA, he received recognition and fame.
"his desire to help others led to him becoming a legend amongst the people"
"And he was alone only for a short time. In the midst of all this he had friends, one of whom approved of his ideals and took charge of all things. This is how he was able to immerse himself deeper and deeper into his sense of duty."
Seeing all this support, it is obvious that he never doubted his ideals and even after death does not think anything bad about his life:
"A man with supportive friends. A man with an understanding lover. I can see in Archer's smile that he's thinking… 'Ah, the good old days.' "
At the same time, EMIYA completely despises his earthly life as Shirou Emiya.
You can already see the difference, right?
The difference in personality.
If EMIYA was a Hero, helping people in need, then Nameless was a Superhero, someone who primarily fights villains.
That is, he was a Hero not because he helped people, but because he was someone who fought for justice. And justice and law do not always go hand in hand. It would be more correct to call him a vigilante.
Here is what Nameless himself says about this
"I mean, the guy was a criminal. He may have thought he was on the side of justice, but he was no hero"
Hakuno asks the following question:
"I still have yet to find anything objectionable in Archer's story. Didn't he sabe people? Doesn't that make him a hero?"
Nameless answers:
"You're familiar with the ethical dilemma of whether it's okay to let ten people die to save a hundred? Or the one about stealing a loaf of bread to feed your family?"
Then Nameless talks about the blown up plane:
"Or possible-and stop me if you've heard this one before-A deadly virus spreads inside of an airplane, and passengers are dying by the minute. Amidst the terror, they still frantically attempt to reach the airport. Even though they're all miserable, they band together hoping to make an emergency landing at an airport. They act selflessly in order to save their fellow passengers even though their own lives are forfeit. But, when they reach the ground, the virus will have access to the 300,000 lives in the city. The groups are equally blameless, only different in size. Actually, the passengers on the plane are the biggest victims. Even in such hellish circumstances, they hold to their humanity."
Continued:
"He applauded them, you know. Those people on the plane who stubbornly clung to human decency. But, he took their dying wish of landing the plane and he crashed it down to the bottom of the sea. His ideals said: the good of the many outweighs the good of the few"
This story is very reminiscent of Kiritsugu blowing up the plane with Natalia on it (something EMIYA and Shirou couldn't know about), but since the entire dialogue is dedicated to Nameless talking about his earthly life in the third person, it's obvious that he's talking about himself. When he was still 'Shirou'. Like father like son, huh.
"It's always wrong to kill someone, no matter what ideals are at stake. To kill for personal gain is evil. So what if fewer people die one way or other? No one's life was really -saved-"
Hakuno's thoughts:
"...Ah. That's why he's said that he wasn't a hero so often. He protected the safety of the people in the city from risk. The part where he actively saved someone on the verge of death didn't happen."
"Even though his decision to save more lives was correct, it was wrong of him to disregard the inhumanity of his act.
Here I want to point out that the KEY difference between Nameless and EMIYA/Shirou is MENTAL MATURITY.
Fate/Extra:
"And during this transition from childhood to adolescence, that man finally realized what he'd become."
Shirou, like a stubborn child, believes that "it's enough to just try harder and then you can save everyone," until EMIYA in UBW forces him to grow up and look at the world from a more realistic perspective.
EMIYA himself became disillusioned with his ideals ONLY AFTER HIS DEATH, when he became a Counter Guardian. In life, he was just as naive an idealist, but it was the constant calls as a CG that made him 'grow up'.
In contrast to both of them, Nameless realized everything while still alive, and, like Kiritsugu, accepted the concept of "kill one to save ten." I think the turning point for him was also the downing of the plane.
EMIYA/Shirou would have let the plane land, and only then would they have isolated it and tried to look for solutions to somehow save those who could.
Nameless made the decision to destroy the plane already at the risk analysis stage.
"If a criminal were to attempt further crimes, I'd slay them before they had a chance to victimize another"
See the difference?
"If there is no choice, then you will either have to sacrifice someone (EMIYA), or come up with something on the fly to save everyone (Shirou)"
They accept the concept of "kill one to save ten" only when there are no other alternatives. That is, it is a FORCED measure.
While for Nameless/Kiritsugu it is a PREVENTIVE measure.
"I will sacrifice the people on the plane and it will definitely save the people in the city"
In this regard, Nameless is very similar to his father and Alter-self (from Superhero Bad End).
Also worthy of special attention is how fanatical Nameless was in his belief that his Justice was the only true one.
From dialogues with Hakuno in Fate/Extra:
"I also gave up any claims to my humanity and swore that I'd live for those who had died and not for myself."
"What difference is there between a vigilante and a criminal, after all?"
Hakuno's thoughts at this moment:
"Actually, I imagine he was far more feared than any criminal, since he acted outside the law. He must have struck fear into anyone with a guilty conscious, even those 'above the law' and officials. No negotiation, persuasion, or even calling upon his humanity would affect him."
Nameless says he was ultimately betrayed by his friend (implied to be Shinji):
"I screwed up. My friend feared me."
Shinji's supposed thoughts:
"I thought this man helped me because he cared for me, but... If I had become a detriment to the public, he wouldn't hesitate to strike me down."
Hakuno's thoughts:
"...And so, his friend concluded that one day the man would meet the same fate as those he'd killed. Therefore-This out of control vigilante had to be tricked into a trap. It's karma. He was severed from society, just like the people whose lives he severed."
Fate/Extra CCC, while talking about CG 2:
"I started out a good Samaritan to help the weak. 'I will never bot to tyranny! I have morals!' So on, and so forth. But then, a certain incident-accident, rather-threw me off course. I could no longer believe in 'justice for all', and my 'justice' turned blind for it. I had given in to a tyrannical, magical force. I was a monster then. One could call my justice 'hideous' and 'merciless'. You can guess how well it prevailed."
Angra Mainyu and Nameless.
One of the things I noticed is how much Nameless resembles Angry Mango.
Parallel 1.
From a demon that grants people's wishes, Angra became a demon that people wanted to blame for all of humanity's sins. He was a necessary evil.
Nameless went from being a Hero who delivers Justice to eventually becoming the embodiment of the Justice that people wanted.
"Thus he became a hero with no name. His death showed the public the very sort of embodiment of the justice that they yearned for"
Parallel 2.
Nameless is directly called a 'demon'.
"His friend realized that he was bounded not to a man, but a demon enforcing indiscriminate justice. He wasn't human at all, just a more infallible incarnation of the system."
Parallel 3.
In CCC, during a conversation with Hakuno about his costume (red jacket and collar), Nameless mentions that one of his friends once mentioned that the "rock star" style does not suit him. This is obviously a reference to either Caren or Bazett, as they are the ones who put make-up and hair dye on Shirou in the Fate/Hollow Ataraxia Epilogue, making him look like Angry Mango and mentioning the rock star.
Parallel 4.
In CCC, during a conversation with BB (or it was Melt), she states that she likes torturing her victims and playing with them and asks Archer's opinion about this. He smirks and replies that he has already "outgrown" it. So, in life he was still a kind of sadist (not like Kirei, but pretty close).
Parallel 5.
If I'm not mistaken, Angra (or Caren) himself described them in F/HA as: "The one who loves the world despite his hatred for it(Shirou), and the one who hates the world despite his love for it(Angra)."
Later, Angra himself is ironically surprised by Shirou Emiya's personality and says that he is much worse than him.
Is Shirou Emiya an egoist, not an altruist?
If you think about it a little, Shirou himself gets high from the fact of saving, and not from the fact that he helped someone. He is not an altruist, but a real egoist who does not care about the people he saved. To some extent, he is a dopamine maniac.
Instead of teaching a person to fish and giving him a fishing rod, Shirou will give him a fish and leave, without thinking about what will happen to the person later, because he received emotions from the every-second "saving".
He is literally a demon who feeds on human happiness, and his Reality Marble (which is most often possessed by Demons with Alien Common Sense or non-human beings) only complements this image.
Unlike EMIYA/Shirou, Nameless never mentioned Kiritsugu's smile and if I'm not mistaken, "Earth's Archer" only has 3 memories, while "Moon's Archer" only has one (implied to be the scene when he summoned Saber).
So from Nameless's words we get a more honest admission of his obsession with helping people, since unlike his FSN counterparts his actions can't be written off as 'I want to smile like Kiritsugu'.
"Are you familiar with the term 'survivor's guilt? I am the embodiment of all that it means."
By speaking of himself in the third person, Nameless confirms the above words:
"He was addicted to the feeling that his devotion to others gave him"
"While it was for selfish reasons, his …"
"Under his altruism he was just in truth a mercenary."
"It was inevitable that being a hero of justice became a selfish act, one that would incite a man to kill me."
Thus, Nameless himself admits that the basis of his desire is selfishness and dependence on the emotions that the act brings him salvation.
Difference in Stats, Combat Skills and etc.
Archer's Skills.

Class skills

Magic Resistance: D
Personal skills:
Clairvoyance: C
Mind's Eye (True): B
Nameless's Skills.
STR: C
Endurance: C
Agility: C
Mana: B
Luck: D
Class skills
Independent Action: C
Magic Resistance: D
Personal skills:
Clairvoyance: C
Mind's Eye (Fake): B
I think the difference in the Mind's Eye type can be explained by the fact that Archer made a contract with Alaya and had to fight various threats to humanity's survival (apparently he even fought gods, since he knows how powerful Gungnir is when he admits Gae Bolg is a more powerful weapon in UBW).
Nameless made a contract with Moon Cell and fought only those who posed a danger only to the Moon. The list is not that big, in most cases they were magicians or ordinary hackers. Possibly also various Bugs within the Moon Cell system itself.
True version of Mind's Eye – represents users battle experience, while Fake version represents innate instincts, like a sixth sense. EMIYA relies on his vast experience, while Nameless trusts his innate instincts more.
Ideally, of course, you need to master both.
Amakusa, combining both types, could hold out for three minutes in a battle with the frivolous Achilles.
As for the difference in STR , then I would assume that it is either their difference in Reinforcement magic, or Nameless was simply stronger in life.
In Lord El Melloi, it is revealed that the Alchemists of Atalas know ways to increase physical characteristics without the use of magic, and the child Ciel is capable of performing superhuman feats.
Maybe , Nameless learned a couple of secrets.
In general, Shirou has always had an abnormal physique. In two weeks of training with Saber, he was able to reach such a level that their sparring sessions lasted not a couple of minutes, but several hours.
Saber herself says that if Shirou trains hard over the course of several years, he will surpass it. Overall, as UBW and HF have shown, in terms of pure swordsmanship, EMIYA is superior to both Saber Alter and Sasaki.
Medusa notices Shirou's durability, as it feels like she "kicked a metal block".
Also, one of Nameless' feats can be noted that he:
"on my own was getting inside the core. Including bypassing security, it was a lot like… Well, picture running through ten levels of the Arena in less than an hour."
For context, each level of the Arena is more difficult and dangerous than the previous one and even Servants will have a hard time. Low-level Servants whose parameters range from [E…D] may well die.
So for an ordinary person, this is simply a ridiculous level.
Emiya Alter is also a C-rank, but it is implied that he achieved this with the help of a Reinforcement so strong that it even became a separate skill [Bulletproof Treatment]. But Alter burned himself in the process. Shirou has always had a talent for this magic, so I wouldn't be surprised if Berseker Emiya (he can be summoned in this class) has an STR of B-rank or even higher due to a combination of magic and Madness Enchantment. FSN materials say that EMIYA has the worst compatibility with Cu and Medusa.
Cu is faster than him, and his [Arrow Defense] skill negates EMIYA's trump card. So, I agree that in a battle between them, Cu will dominate and EMIYA doesn't have many options to turn the fight around.
EMIYA has weak natural [Magic Resistance] and even with Kanshou & Bakuya (which boost it), Medusa's Mystic Eyes are too powerful.
Also, EMIYA won't be able to rely on his 'Mind's Eye' very much because:
"It affects all targets within the owner's field of vision, regardless of whether said targets are looking at the Eyes physically, or if they have their eyes closed but continue to view her with their mind's eye, as it is a curse to look upon her in any way."
Still, don't think that this is the end for him. EMIYA can:
1)Use Perseus' NP to seal the power of Mystic Eyes ( like Shirou did in Hollow Ataraxia).
2)Use NP as a reflective magic mirror (like he did during Chaldea Summer Camp 2020).
And so you understand, Nameless already fought Medusa Rider in Fate/Extella Zero and in had the advantage in the battle with her. Here is their dialogue:
"I'm not here to help the Emperor build her empire. Although that does sound interesting... And you? It's not as if you're drunk off Caster's witchery and recalling your former passions, are you?"
"And what if that were true? What if I told you I wanted to become a monster?"
"…Frankly, I'd be surprised. And I'd probably swear off ever trusting women again."
"I'm joking, of course. I have my own reasons for serving under Caster. I'll take your kind suggestion this time around. To stabilize this new .PH. It looks like we have the same goal, although our motives may differ."
"Good to hear. With that in mind, please forgetour battle just now."
"No, that's a whole other matter. I won't forget the bad blood between us, and I will pay you back many times over." (says with a smirk on her face)
"…Well, she is a snake after all. Great, another problem for the pile."
From Fate/Hollow Ataraxia we learn that Medusa has a pretty bad temper at times and also doesn't like to lose, so the battle with Nameless definitely left its mark.
Relationships with women.
Archer's story is similar to Shirou from Fate Route, but "something was missing". As Archer himself states, he "couldn't save Saber's heart". For some reason, many people assume that this meant that they were not in a relationship, but this is not entirely true.
I would say that Archer simply couldn't put pressure on Saber and gave up at some point. This most likely happened on Day 14 during their last night together.
In HF, Shirou uses Archer's hand and projects a copy of Excalibur, thus destroying Angry Mango.
It will be explained later in CCC that one of the conditions for copying a "Holy Sword-level" NP is to have a connection with the original owner and receive help from him.
So, aside from the obvious sexual relationship (to replenish mana), there was a romantic attachment between Archer and his Saber, they both just couldn't reach the depth that Shirou and Saber demonstrated in Fate Route.
This is also indicated by the fact that Archer is aware of Saber's wish, which she wants to make to the Grail, because Shirou and Saber (and accordingly Archer and his Saber) argued about it standing on the bridge.
So, during a conversation with Shirou after Rider's attack at school (UBW Route), Archer says the following:
"… Heh. It's the same whether you have an objective or not. Ask your Servant if you're curious. While Saber's objective is the Holy Grail, she would never use it for herself. In that regard, she is ideal as a guardian. A literal slave. If you are to be her Master, you must never forget what I've said".
Now let's move on to Nameless.
Actually, this is where the differences begin. Unlike Shirou, Extra! Shirou (Nameless in life) began his love affairs while still a schoolboy.
To Hakuno's question during Secret Garden events (Fate/Extra CCC):
"Any lovers in your private life, outside of work?"
"Hm, let's see. I think there was just one or two, but it never lasted long. It was the same way back when I was in school. We would date for half a year and then break up."
HGW took place when Shirou was in his second year of high school, and considering that Nameless was clearly fascinated by Saber at that time (considering their deep connection, he definitely banged her), he wouldn't have been looking for any kind of connection/relationship in his second or third year of high school.
Therefore, he either had girlfriends in his first year of high school, or even earlier, during middle school.
Suddenly, Shirou's line from the scene in HF Route when he has sex with Sakura: "She moves like an experienced prostitute" plays with new colors, lol.
How does he know what prostitutes are like in bed?
With Hakuno:
"While I wouldn't call it a 'job perk', I did find myself protecting a fair number of women along the way. Acting as bodyguard or a tutor proved to be an easy ticket to access persons of interest. Of course, some exceptions did exist."
CG 3, which is called "Trouble with Women", which Resembles Fion's skills [The Beauty of Trouble with Women"]
"… if that's what it looks like, then I apologize. It appears that I unknowingly offended the good lady again."
"Again? Did he just say 'again'? He told me before that a butler's life would be good enough for him-but although he LOOKS conservative, maybe he's actually a Don Juan...?!"
"...hey. Why are you readying a Command Seal? I think there's a misunderstanding, I'm not that conservative. As long as no laws are broken, men and women should be proactive in relationships. Humans are animals after all, it's just how it is."
"… this refined man is something else. Even a hunk wouldn't be allowed to say what he said. Yet he said it with nihilism, and as if he was right. He also deftly deflected the truth with that response. Let's carefully go over what he said again step-by-step.
Q. He seems conservative, but is actually a Don Juan?
A. You misunderstand. I'm not necessarily conservative.
...see? This is important. All he did was reject the assumption. He didn't actually answer the question...!"
"Woah, you're right. Okay, sorry, sorry. I didn't realize. I don't get the sense that I'm some kind of womanizer… Compared to regular guys, I seemed to always have an easy time getting chummy. You've heard of James Bond, right? That's what my relationships were like. I have to have a relationship with a woman if it's work related. But after work-it ends there."
"I don't know about this James dude, but I get what Archer is saying. Basically, when it comes to work, he can instantly nab a girlfriend, maybe in a hour and a half?
"Yeah. In the end, I would always get robbed, shot at, or she's actually the chief's daughter, or they come at me with a dump truck, etc."
"What girl do you like, Archer?"
"Hm? Another curious question. I like anyone as long as they're cute, personally."
"SYMPATHY/RVOKED-! This guy! He's clueless AND he's an enemy to all women!"
As Nameless himself said, he is not the best candidate for a long-term relationship - there is no woman who could understand him and not give up (like Rin).
"That's why they all left me for the same reason:
'This is too much for me'. It's no wonder. It's not that they gave up on me: it's just that I didn't believe in others. So, wel, the bottom-line is that I've got bad luck. That's the takeaway here. Same thing with Meltryllis-Nevermind."
Therefore, he is much more suited to the role of a passionate one-night stand who FUCKS, rather than MAKES LOVE. Considering that he constantly fought in mortal battles (and in humans, the reproductive instinct is activated by the fear of death in order to leave more offspring), he has slept with the most women.
Also Nameless in Fate/Extra:
"Think of it this way: Imagine going to the dentist, only to find that the dentist is a smoking hot woman. And there you are, sitting in the chair and having to stare at her boobs. I mean, the sudden urge to—"
Conversation with Hakuno about Rin:
"...Well, let me ask you something first. What if I were to answer yes?"
"Right off the bat, I'd have to think a new name for Archer, that's for sure. Don Juan might work, or even Caligula. I mean, he obviously is a playboy of the highest caliber. Maybe Hugh...?"
Nameless Preferences in Women (Fate/Extra):
"My type would be more..."
"Archer gestures with his hands in the shape of a woman's curves. More what? As I must have looked puzzled, Archer folds his arms behind his head, embarrassed."
"Actually, never mind. I have a feeling that no matter what I say, I'll be digging my own grave."
"Pretty much. The air curves he just played on looked awfully familiar."
Since Nameless denies that this is Rin, and the dialogue is the same for both Male Hakuno and Female, we are most likely talking about Sakura. Well, or Rani =)
Fate/Extra. Nameless during his sex with Rani:
"Wait a second, I thought you were from Egypt, not Babylon! You don't need to touch me there..."
Rani:
"There were no complications. Since he was so cooperative, everything went just as planned. Well I wouldn't have minded if it went a little further."
"My magical energy is circulating normally again. The ceremony was… very successful"
"Would you like to know? *Giggle* Then you can have Archer coach you through it."
"You're better off not knowing. It's complicated ancient thaumaturgy. It would burn your eyes, Master"
Sex scene with Rin:
"Do you know the procedure for a temporary contract? Okay then, let's just get this over with."
"What in the…? How can you be so open to this?! Wait a second, how in the hell do you know so much about thaumaturgy in the first place!?"
Later, Rin:
"There weren't any problems. I was surprised how smoothly it went. It turns out we're very compatible"
Despite the fact that Nameless and Extra!Rin herself deny knowing each other, Nameless says that he doesn't want to kill her, and Extra!Rin herself notes that when she's around him, she feels nostalgic.
This is answered in Fate/Extra CCC. When talking to Hakuno, Nameless answers the question of whether he remembers his students from his days as a teacher:
"Yeah, I somewhat remember them. 2nd place goes to a girl I was grouped with while I was in a Middle Eastern anti-government group. That girl was such a wrecking ball of impulse, she had me at my wit's end, constantly scolding her for wearing a miniskirt into the desert. Otherwise, she was a brilliant student, so my job was easy."
Obviously this is about Extra!Rin, since she was part of the resistance and if you look at how she looks outside of Moon Cell, you'll see that she still wears a miniskirt even in the desert.
And here Nameless also mentions IRL Hakuno:
"If we mean a hard time, 1st place goes to a kid in that Asian carawan. A heck of a rookie, that one. Zero regard for their own safety-kind of like you. But I couldn't tell you their name. Been too long"
This moment is interesting because at the end of Nameless's Route, Human!Nameless meets IRL Hakuno in a refugee caravan where he works as an instructor (Hakuno joined the resistance following Extra!Rin).
So there's a time loop where Nameless and Hakuno are in Moon Cell, but they already met each other in the past when Nameless was alive, despite the fact that these events will only happen in the future, after they fight BB.
Yeah, it's Nasuverse and time flow is fucked up here. REALLY FUCKED UP.
Who is represented in FGO – Nameless or EMIYA?
Well, this one is pretty simple. Nasu noted in an interview that it depends on the environment. If there is an FSN cast nearby, then he is EMIYA. If there is an Extra Cast nearby, then he is Nameless.
You can compare it to Schrödinger's cat. Archer is a cat in a box.
0 is Archer.
1 is EMIYA.
1 is Nameless.
That is, both personalities are equally true for him.
Conclusion.
Thus, I have collected almost all the available CANON facts and tried to recreate an approximate image of Extra!Shirou, whom we have never seen, but about whom we know so much (primarily from the words of Nameless himself).
As for why EMIYA and Nameless are constantly confused with each other, the reason is in their conceptual difference.
EMIYA is a specific individual. Nameless is the embodiment of all nameless Heroes of Justice.
Something like Thomas Edison. Or Piccolo from Dragon Ball, where Piccolo's personality is the Main one, but inside there is also Kami and Nail.
That is, the Basis Core for the "Nameless Hero of Justice" is the body and personality of "Shirou Emiya", but from the point of view of existence, he is not an individual.
I wrote this article because in my works I prefer to use Extra!Shirou. Because there will be those who will shout something like:
"Booo! It's not Shirou!"
"EMIYA isn't like that!"
"It's just Self-Insert OC!"
"SINO (Shirou in name only)! Not canon!"
I will redirect all those who are dissatisfied here. Yes, it is very unusual to see 'Shirou' in such a role, but I did not come up with any of this. Nasu did it for me.
It's not my fault that Fate 'fans' only watched UBW Anime, and FGOtards haven't seen anything outside of the Game, Babylonia Anime and nhentai/twitter doujins.
Something like that.
In the next article I think I'll figure out how Archer was able to beat Herс 6 times.
Author's note:
I haven't been able to update my current fanfics lately due to study issues, work and other circumstances. A belated Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
I'm officially declaring this year the year of the Cuckolds, because I have a lot of different FGO content planned. Stay tuned for new projects!
By the way, Grand Cuck is being rewritten, since it doesn't match what I originally wanted to create. Now I need to work on my notes to get them in order.
Also ready to announce two new fanfics I'm working on:
Faith/Grand Orgasm and Fate/Depravity Order ~ Consultant Kiara.
All the things you love: harems (for our beloved Chadsuka Cuckjumaru), smut, ntr, cuckolding and vanilla romance.
For inspiration I use: "Hotel Chaldea" by NOTTHISWAY, "Shirou's Sexcapades in Chaldea" by Arcozius and " and "Strip Club Singularity" by BeneathTheLightOfTheMoon
