Hey everyone! I'm sorry for the lack of updates. I'm currently doing another project that is requiring me to be away from my computer. Hopefully once this project is done I will be updating hopefully more frequently.

Chapter Four

The tension was thick for the Winchesters and Andy as all four, in their positions, all experienced the stressful situation differently. Christina felt sweat fall down her face as all she could watch the situation was through the binoculars while she kept glancing at her brother as he remained stoic and ready behind the scope of the sniper rifle. She hated that they had to result in actually ending a human's life and she was sure her own brothers felt the same way.

But he's a monster, she thought to herself as she lifted and peered into the binoculars once again. Anything that would take life as if they meant nothing is a monster.

Andy's and Sam's back was to her so she couldn't see what they were saying but she watched as Weber laughed as he turned his head and saw the girl from the diner, Tracey, wearing a white nightie slowly walk towards the edge of the bridge that clearly would be her death if she fell.

"No!" Andy scream could barely be heard over the distance and Christina watched as Weber looked up and seemed to be looking straight at them.

"Blow your brains." Weber's mouth moved and Christina dropped the binoculars and watched in horror as Dean slowly stood up and was fighting to keep the barrel of the gun down.

"Dean no!" Christina screamed and rushed to her brother's side grabbing hold of the gun's barrel and pulling it down ,keeping her head far away from the tip as possible. "Dean your stronger then this!" Christina cried, as she struggled to get the gun out of his hands.

"I... I can't stop myself." Dean said panic slowly rising from his voice. He was fighting to keep his finger off the trigger as the barrel of the gun inched closer to his head while he watched Christina kept her head away but was struggling to keep her hands wrapped around the barrel.

Christina fought back tears as she felt her fingers slipping from the cool metal. "Dean!" She screamed, she hoped wasn't the last time she would see her brother alive when she fell to the ground with a thump as her fingers slipped from the barrel. Seconds later she heard a gun shot ring out and she froze. In her panic she couldn't tell if the bullet ring came from nearby or farther away. That was until she felt someone reach down and pull her to her feet.

Dean, though looking pale, was alive and the rifle on the ground as he must have dropped it. None of them spoke as they hugged each other Christina starting to cry at how close she was to loose her brother. Dean's own emotions were everywhere as he felt like he was about to die himself. His arms were trembling as he held his sister for the longest time until both had calmed down long enough to gather the rifle and slowly make there way back to the Impala.

They didn't speak as Dean slowly arrived at the gorge to see Sam and Andy talking while Tracey sat staring at a crumpled body at her feet. Christina slowly left the impala and made her way to talk to Tracey but jumped when Tracey jumped.

"It's okay. I'm not going to hurt you." Christina said slowly sitting down next to the girl. "Can you tell me what happened?"

"Andy he... Weber was... Oh god why did this happen to me?" She began to panic and Christina acted and wrapped her arms around the scared girl ready to take the hits and attempts to escape without judging the girl.

"Tracey. I'm here to talk. I'm not here to judge. Has anyone called the authorities?"

"The tall man did... I don't know if I can lie to them... I'm not that kind of girl."

Christina turned and looked at Andy and her brothers before looking at Tracey's panicked face. "Tracey, you need to tell the authorities that this man kidnapped you. That he threatened to kill you and you were saved by us. Unless you want to be labeled an insane person, this is what is needed. Then after things go back to as normalcy as possible, move. Get out of this place and don't come back. Okay?"

"Why?" Tracey asked hearing the sirens slowly becoming louder.

"Because things like this might happen again. At least in a new place you might be able to have a normal life. Yes you may still remember this but in time you'll forget about it."

Tracey nodded and slowly sat down on a large rock as Christina walked back over to her brothers and Andy.

"Did she mention me at all?" Andy asked his eyes looking sad. Christina nodded slowly but didn't say anything which made Andy look more sad. "Thanks for your help." He said and already moved up to a police officer, once they arrived.

The Winchesters did their statements before being allowed to leave. None of them wanted to talk as they couldn't believe that something more sinister was going on. Andy had looked so broken hearted after Tracey refused to even look at him even though he only used his powers to try and save her.

Both Dean and Christina could tell Sam was having a hard time with seeing a normal kid like Weber and even Max could ever go down such a dark path. As they drove out of town Christina silently kept looking at Dean through the rearview mirror while Sam looked absently out his window. She sensed Dean had the uncertainty that Sam was going to end up like Weber and Max, using his powers for something really bad. But her fear was replaced by the memory of their time on the ledge and the real fact that she was so close in loosing her brother right in front of her if Weber wasn't killed.

"How about we go out and get something light to eat." Dean said not really asking if his other siblings were hungry but stating he was making the decision.

"That sounds good." Christina piped up seeing that when Sam would loose focus and food was brought up he would refuse it. "I could go for some fries. Maybe a small hamburger."

"Yeah, something small sounds good." Sam said before stretching out in the front seat. "I think I'll try and catch a quick nap."

"Yeah. Good idea." Dean said hitting the gas harder once they left town.

For the next couple of days, the Winchesters mindlessly drove through the states before deciding to stop in Kansas and pulled out in front of The Roadhouse. None of them were really looking for a case until Dean stopped them from heading to the building when they stopped.

"Think I found us a case." Dean said with a large smile on his face. "Seems like a young girl got pulled into an evil cult." He wanted to laugh when Christina seemed worried and was about to ask for more details until she caught sight of Sam's unamused face.

"Does this girl have a name?" Sam asked making Dean try his hardest not to smile as Christina continued to read her brother's reaction to the news.

"Katie Holmes." Dean answered and Christina rolled her eyes before heading to The Roadhouse front doors.

Christina managed to get into the front doors when she entered the empty building when she could hear the muffled yells coming from the backroom near the kitchen. She, being a familiar part of the Roadhouse when she first started out, knew she didn't want to be in the middle of a fight and quietly left the establishment to stop her brothers from coming in the middle of the crosshairs. But as she left the building, she could hear the shouting getting loud and that her brothers were now heading to the front door.

"Before we go in, just to warn you, their fights can get pretty... loud and uncomfortable." Christina said warning look but shrugged when her brothers gently walked passed her and headed inside with her falling behind at their heals.

"...And you think I want to have a daughter dead off the side of the street? Go back to school if you want to leave." Ellen argued as they entered the main bar.

"Good idea, I'll be the only girl with a knife collection. I would totally fit in then." Jo screamed back and both Harvell's noticed the Winchester siblings standing there trying their hardest not to look like they were wanting nothing more then to sink into the floor.

"Now's not a good time kids." Ellen said wanting to move on from their current argument.

"It's all good, we don't drink before noon anyways." Dean said trying to make it less awkward.

"What's going on?" Sam asked want to be the peacemaker between the two women.

"Don't worry about this, Sam." Ellen said and all five adults turned when they saw the front door open and a family of four walked in clearly tired from a large trip as they all wore matching yellow shirts.

"A...Are you open?" The father asked his wife holding one of their two young kids.

"Yes." Ellen said.

"No!" Jo screamed over her mother and Christina turned and smiled.

"We're having a bit of an issue here. Why don't your family go to the Arby's just down the street. They have an amazing deal on their their Cheddar Beef sandwiches."

"Sounds like a good idea. Thanks." The father said with a nervous smile not liking the glares the two other women were giving each other.

"Drive safe." Christina said waving at the family then locking the front door after they left. She was about to say something but the phone began to ring and Ellen quickly left to answer it.

"Harvell's." Ellen answered partially happy that the fight she was having with her daughter was momentarily diverted to something else.

"Dean," Jo said rushing over to him and grabbing a folder a she ran past it on the bar. "Three girls have vanished from an apartment complex in Philadelphia. No break-ins... nothing. Just vanished."

"Sounds interesting." Dean said taking the folder and Christina and Sam stood around him to look over the folder.

"If it's interesting you three take it." Ellen said making Jo whip around and glare at her mom. "Not a word Joanna Beth." Ellen hissed grabbing a washcloth and while setting chairs on the floor began to wipe the tops.

"This is torture! Why are you always like this?" Jo screamed making Sam and Dean to silently back up while Christina gently grabbed Jo's arm.

"Jo, it's what a mom does." Christina said softly. "I mean if you remember back she did the same thing to me."

"Yeah, but you were smart and left." Jo snapped back, not as harshly as she had done with her mom. "Honestly I should have gone with you."

"I'm glad you didn't." Christina said softly and sighed. "Your mom just wants to protect you. She already lost your dad. She just doesn't want to loose you as well."

"Fine. I won't go." Jo said reluctantly before she gave Christina a quick hug. "You better head out, before another woman gets snatched."

"Yeah, come on sis. You're dragging heel." Dean said and both brothers left making Christina roll her eyes and waved goodbye to Ellen before she left the roadhouse.

The Winchesters arrived in Philadelphia around mid afternoon the next day and all three stretched, letting their stiff joints pop and roll back into place. When they walked in they looked around spotting the small mail boxes all lined in neat rows with a nice gold trim. A few of them had vacant stickers inside where the tenet's name should have been. But that just allowed the three to look at the numbers and mentally prepared to head out and take a look at the empty rooms as it seemed easier to check those apartments then to ask the other tenants to check their apartments.

"Best way to check these?" Dean asked grabbing a pamphlet and jotting down the empty apartments.

"Well, in the research Jo gave us," Christina said as they walked to the elevator. "The last victim was in room 403. That's one of the rooms that is recently vacant. How about we start there. Best to do that instead of unnecessarily opening all the other vacant apartments."

"That does make a lot of sense." Sam nodded. "I mean, this way we can hopefully find what kidnapped the girls and hopefully get this case dealt with."

The three silently walked into the small elevator and it slowly moved up to the fourth floor. They were grateful that they weren't any other tenants in the hallway as they moved to room 403 and Sam squatted down to grab his lockpicking tool. Dean and Christina moved so that Sam would be hidden from both sides of the hallway and once the door was opened all three walked into the room Christina quickly closed the door.

"I feel bad at snaking her case like that." Sam said as Dean and himself pulled out their emfs while Christina walked through the small apartment and couldn't help but nod at the decent size of the room.

"I mean she did put together a good case, but can you see her doing something like this? I hate the fact that Christy is in this line of work herself."

"Well, hate to break it to you, Dean," Christina said standing and noticing the new plaster on the ceiling and walls. "But I'm a hunter and she's just as stubborn and hard headed as any other hunter out there. But I agree she shouldn't get into this life." As she focused on the other furniture which her brothers knew it was to keep herself focused on other things. But she said in a soft voice that her bothers could barely hear, "I don't think Ellen could handle loosing her too."

Before any of her brothers could ask her any questions Sam's EMF buzzed off a plug outlet which was a point of interest since nowhere else in the apartment sparked any notice. As Sam walked closer he gently touched the lower outlet and slowly drew back his hand. "Holy crap." Sam said turning around to show his siblings what he found.

"Holy crap." Dean repeated touching the same black ooze. "I know what this is."

"Ectoplasm." Christina said , who was standing in between her two brothers, even though he must have known what it was.

"I know what this is." Dean said looking at his two younger siblings. "We're dealing with the stay puff marshmallow man."

While Sam rolled his eyes Christina smiled at his joke but quickly went back to being serious. "Only a very strong spirit can leave ectoplasm."

"Well, then we should quickly find out who or what this is and bag it before it takes another victim." Dean said wiping the black goo on his pant leg before they quickly wiped down the surfaces in the building in case the police decide to take another look.

"I guess the only good news about this," Christina said as she wiped the doorknob before they walked out. "It's only in this building so we don't have to scour the city for a needle in a haystack for victims. But it will make it difficult for us to find potential victims."

"That is true," Sam agreed as they slowly made their way down the hallway back to the elevator. "But like you said we only have to worry about this building and not in the city."

"But still we have our work cut out for us." Dean pointed out which made the other two nod in agreement. It wasn't until they were on their way to the elevator that they froze and quickly hid around the corner when they heard voices coming from an open apartment just down the hall.

"This would be perfect! So these apartments come fully furnished?" All three quickly shared a look of surprise as they slowly walked around the corner and saw Jo nearly bouncing out of the apartment followed by a man the Winchesters believed was the landlord. "Oh, hi honey!" She said rushing over and wrapping her arm around Dean's waist. "This is my boyfriend and his friends." She said with a large smile. "Did you see the apartment?"

"Yeah." Dean said, hesitantly wrapping around Jo's waist and pulling her close. "It's perfect."

"That's great," the Landlord said with a smile but his face twisted slightly in confusion. "How did you get in?"

"Oh, the door was open." Dean said followed by the nods coming from his siblings.

"I guess my mind was on trying to get these apartments filled up to have forgotten to lock that apartment." The landlord said with a shake. "Anyways, the lady that used to rent this just left me high and dry and I've been eating the rent for the month."

"Well, her loss is our gain," Jo said with a smile pulling out a wad of cash and gave her wide smile. "We'll take it."
