Flashback Continued

Lucy's sitting on her bed, looking out the window at the city's bustling streets, in her new apartment that Ms. Yamamoto and Jiji helped her get. It's above a family-owned bar, Sushi Serenity. The family that owns it was also nice enough to give her a job there.

It's been a year since she arrived on Earth. This new world is not like anything Lucy has ever seen before. Instead of guilds, there are hero agencies. However, before anyone can become a pro hero, they must seek education at a high school specifically for getting their hero license. The one closest to where she is currently dwelling is called U.A. It is boasted as the best heroics education in Japan. It sits atop a forested hill that overlooks Musutafu. The students are separated based on their abilities into specific departments and classes A through K.

From what Lucy's heard U.A. doesn't adhere to traditional school methods and allows their class to teach their class however they like. They can even expel any student or students for any reason regardless of how minor it is. One teacher once expelled a whole class! He had re-enrolled them but still, why would he do that?

Every year in May U.A. holds a tournament called the U.A. Sports Festival, which has become a nationwide event that people and citizens around the country watch. She caught it on the television when she was staying at Ms. Yamamoto's. There was this one kid, Mirio she thinks his name was, who lost all of his clothes. She couldn't help but chuckle. He reminded her of someone else who would accidentally become nude.

Students from all departments are allowed to participate and it gives the heroes in training a chance to show off what they can do for the Pro Heroes increasing their chances of getting internships or being recruited. It reminded her a lot of the Grand Magic Games. One difference is that U.A. was a one-day event and the Grand Magic Games lasted a full week. Another difference is that the students of the support and business courses used the sports festival as a way to promote their support items and further develop their business sense, respectively. There isn't anything like that for mages at the Grand Magic Games. The Grand Magic Games determines the number one guild until the next GMG comes around the next year and there's also a large payout.

The reason why an individual who wants to be a pro hero needs a license is so they can legally actively use their quirks to perform heroic acts. Without one, using your quirk for heroism is considered illegal and could lead to severe consequences. While she understands it's for the safety of others to only have those properly trained to intervene in emergencies, if Fiore went by Japan's rules, she wouldn't have been able to become a mage of Fairy Tail and gone on the numerous adventures she had because she didn't have the proper training. She learned as she went on jobs.

The jobs she's gone on with her guild members were nothing like the job Jiji had her do… She's having one of those nights where all she does is cry thinking about Fairy Tail and how much she misses them. She misses them so freaking much.

Spying on the ones responsible for an auction coming up was harder than she thought it would be. Not the spying but seeing all of the women and children locked up in cages. Crying, bruised, starved. It was horrible. She would have loved nothing more to help, but where could she take them? What if someone caught her? She couldn't take on all of those men at once even with what she had in her arsenal. Jiji also stated he didn't want her directly involved. She just needed to pass along information to him.

The group has been able to hide due to one of the men having a concealment quirk. He can conceal everything around him, unfortunately for him, he can't conceal his soul. It took Lucy a bit to track them down due to filtering through all the different souls she heard listening for keywords to give her any sort of hint.

The last thought that goes through Lucy's mind as she cries herself to sleep is she hopes everything she did wasn't all for naught.

Hiding in the shadows, Lucy watches three men guard an inconspicuous building. It's a chilly night and if it weren't for the cloak Ms. Yamamoto had made her, she would be colder than she is. When she revealed it to Lucy, she didn't just cry, she sobbed.

Ms. Yamamoto went with black to make it easier for her to hide in the dark, and because blue is Lucy's favorite color, she made sure that the trim and the Fairy Tail symbol on the back were in that color. She then told her she should pick an alias should she come across anyone. Many ideas ran through her head, Lucy wanted something related to her magic. Ultimately, she went with Celeste because it means heavenly, and her magic is related to the heavens. Ms. Yamamoto also advised her to have her wardrobe be something she wouldn't normally wear. She caught a movie on TV once and the actress portrayed this badass military woman, and she decided that's who she wanted to look like. She had to admit that despite the circumstances, it was fun creating an alter-ego.

While Lucy watches the building she makes note of where the men are stationed, when shift change is, and what kind of weapons they have on them that she could see. Every man she's kept an eye on since she started this job for Jiji carries guns that she doesn't recall Bisca or Alzack ever using. According to him, it's illegal to have guns, especially those that these men carry. Even though there was a lot of money to be had to distribute guns, he confided in her that he plans on getting out of gun distribution. There are some in the yakuza who won't be happy with the changes he wants to make.

It's not getting any easier taking notes of information Jiji will need to plan the raid. She's been trying hard to grow a thicker skin and look at the big picture. Ms. Yamamoto scolded Jiji for not getting her more prepared for what they were up against.

The more they take out in one fell swoop, the better. He informed her there's a chance some will get away and continue but he plans to keep an eye on whatever bastards survive. She would like to charge in there Fairy Tail style but she won't be able to take care of them on her own. They'll kill her and then what good will she be? They'll also move to a different location and Jiji will have to start over searching for them.

Content with the information she gathered Lucy sneaks out of there to go back home. She's gotten a good layout of the area and knows which back alleys to take to remain out of sight. As she does so, she practices using Cobra's hearing magic. She stops in her tracks when she hears a loud wailing soul and the word help. She's close to where it's coming from, but she doesn't hear anyone yelling out for help. She follows where it's coming from, and it takes her to a tall building. She turns into a shadow goes up to the building 4 floors up and returns to form on the fire escape.

The window she's at is closed and she needs to get in there. The soul is crying out louder. She pulls up on the window and winces when it makes a loud squeaking noise. She doesn't need it open the whole way, just enough to travel in the shadows. Thankfully she doesn't have to go through the whole fourth floor, she's in the apartment where the crying soul is. Returning to form again, she silently walks down a hall and hears something scraping against the floor and a squeaking bed. There are sounds of a man grunting as if... She stops when there's a creak in the floorboard. When no one appears to check out the noise she continues, the sounds getting louder.

Her heart is beating rapidly, scared over what she's going to find. She stops in front of a bedroom with the door slightly ajar. She slowly pushes the door open and stops in her tracks. Lucy is frozen on the spot from the sight.

There's a woman spread out tied to a bed, gagged and crying out as a man with his pants down is on top of her, and… Lucy sees red. She's heard the deprived souls doing this to defenseless women but to see it firsthand. A crack of her whip echoes throughout the room startling the man. He scrambles to get off the bed and before he knows it a whip is coiled around his neck and he's been pulled forward his face meeting a fist, an audible crack resounds in the room. She pulls the whip taught and the man claws at the whip that is choking him and the fist that hit him the first time continues to hit him.

It's not until Lucy hears a whimper that Lucy stops but not before kicking him in the nuts. As she releases the hold she has on him, she growls out "Fucking bastard." She rushes over to the woman and unclasps her cloak to cover her up.

After the woman is free from the restraints and gag, she immediately wraps her arms around Lucy cries on her shoulder, and repeatedly tells her, "Thank you."

Lucy rubs her back with one hand and digs around for her phone with the other. "Shh… It's going to be okay." Not knowing who else to call she calls Jiji and explains to him the situation. She's told to stay there, he and a few of his men will be right over.

While they wait, Lucy does her best to calm the woman down. She feels like an asshole that it slipped her mind that the woman has to be freezing. She summons Virgo to get clothes for the woman to not only save her dignity for when Jiji and the others make their way over but also to keep her warm.

The woman doesn't ask any questions about the sudden appearance of a pink-haired maid. She doesn't know how her savior was able to do that, but it doesn't matter. Because of her, she didn't have to endure that hell any longer.

"What's your name?" she asks Lucy as she gets dressed with the help of the pink-haired maid named Virgo.

"It's Celeste."

"Celeste."

The bastard begins to stir, and Lucy makes her way over and kicks him in the ribs. She's only able to get a few good kicks in before Jiji is there pulling Lucy off of him.

The woman Lucy helped freaks out because of the unknown men in the room and Lucy hurries to the bed to assure her they're the good guys.

"What's going to happen to him?" The woman whispers.

The men Jiji brought with him are hog-tying the bastard with zip ties as Jiji replies in a soft voice, "You don't worry your pretty head over that. While they deal with him, we're going to go to my friend's home and she's going to look you over."

"Is she a doctor?"

Lucy replies, "Yes, and you'll be safe there." She helps the woman down the stairs and into the car. The bastard is being hauled away in a white van and Lucy knows exactly what his fate is. There's never been any reports of bastards like him being taken into custody so that only means one thing. She can't bring herself to care.

"Are you coming with me?" The woman asks Lucy, frightened of being alone.

Lucy squats down and holds the woman's hand, "I'll be there in a little bit. There's something I need to do." She squeezes her hands, "I promise you, Jiji and Sato, the driver, will not harm nor let any harm come to you, okay?"

Lucy stands and hugs the woman. "I'll see you soon."

She closes the door and notices Jiji hasn't gone to the other side to get in yet.

"Are you okay?" He asks her.

"Jiji, I…"

Jiji hugs her, "You take the time you need."

She nods her head in his chest. "I'll try not to take too long." She steps out of his arms and watches as he gets in the car and Sato drives them away, the van goes in the opposite direction.

Once they're out of sight, she goes to the rooftop, sits on the ledge, and cries. She cries for the women and children waiting to be saved. She cries for the woman she helped in a horrible situation. How many other women has that happened to? How many of them went through that while she was out at night and didn't know because she wasn't keeping an ear out for them? The woman she helped tonight was, Lucy wouldn't say lucky, but she was fortunate Lucy was nearby practicing Cobra's hearing magic to get a better grasp on it. Had she not been listening to souls she never would have heard that woman's soul crying out for help. The poor woman is going to be traumatized regardless.

Why did Lucy have to be sent here? Why can't she be with her family, laughing, going on missions, and having a good time? Instead, she's in a different world, in a different galaxy her spirits theorized, and in a foreign country far away from them.

Unexpectedly she gets a tingling feeling on the back of her neck and a shiver goes down her spine. She looks around but with how dark it is she can't see anyone who could be watching her. Instead of figuring out who it could be she sinks into the shadows and hightails it out of there. She's dealt with enough for the night.

Lucy had stayed at Ms. Yamamoto's with the woman she saved, who she came to learn her name was Hana, and wasn't able to get any sleep. She had to be given a sedative to knock her ass out so she could sleep. Every time she closed her eyes, she saw the image of Hana being… She couldn't bring herself to say it. She can't even begin to understand how Hana has been coping.

The next day, Ms. Yamamoto introduced Lucy and Hana to a friend of hers, Yo Fukuzawa. She was a counselor who helped women through ordeals like the previous night. She was a victim of sexual assault who does what she can to help others. They were given a card with a number and address on it and were told they were welcome anytime if they needed to talk to someone.

Afterward, Lucy contacted Jiji to give him the information he needed. Thankfully for her, her help was no longer needed. She could attempt a normal life while searching for answers on how to get back home. Yet, she couldn't do it, attempting to live a normal life. After what she witnessed, she felt that while she searched for a way home, she should spend her time saving others. She hoped there would be times she could put a stop to it before anything could happen. Ms. Yamamoto caught wind of what Lucy was planning, and she handed her a stack of cards to send the women to Fukuzawa.

So, that's what her nights have become. Keeping an ear out for others who needed her help. She's now known as a vigilante who takes down rapists, child molesters, abusers, and even some petty criminals the heroes aren't around to stop at night.

She's disgusted by the numbers she counts in one night. She does what she can, unfortunately, though, she's only one person. She's talked to Fukuzawa a couple of times and the woman had somehow put together that she's Celeste. Lucy didn't confirm nor deny it. Fukuzawa had informed her that the victims had been calling her Celeste the Dark Slayer. Lucy does confide in her that Ms. Yamamoto took her in when she had nowhere else to go. She had been attacked on the streets as well and barely got out of there however she didn't escape unscathed. She doesn't get into Jiji being the one coming across the situation and taking her to Ms. Yamamoto's to be treated.

Lucy has just called the authorities to pick up a group of men she just beat the hell out of that cornered a woman in an alleyway. She tells the woman she needs to get out of there before the authorities show up but before she goes, she hands the woman a card and a taser that can easily be concealed in her purse. The woman is scared and doesn't want Lucy to go so to put her mind more at ease she summons Virgo to quickly tie the men together so they're not capable of going anywhere. She doesn't know when, but it became an unspoken thing not to mention Celeste can summon a pink-haired maid.

Making her way down the sidewalk, she can feel eyes on her. It's been becoming more frequent and really creeping her out. The last time was about a week ago when she saved a teenage girl who couldn't have been more than thirteen years old, from being attacked. The girl was fair skinned with light dirty blonde hair. She was brandishing a knife with a happy, cheerful smile on her face. It was an odd sight to see and even hearing her say in Mavis's voice that if they didn't go away, she was going to cut them. Lucy admired the girl's bravery but there was no way she stood a chance.

After Lucy took the men out, the girl, Toga, became infatuated with her. So much so, that Toga went on and on about becoming her. Before walking the girl home, Lucy took her to a quaint yet also run-down late-night restaurant to get something to eat. It took a lot of convincing that Lucy couldn't take her with her, and she needed to stay home with her parents. Lucy felt bad, but she saw in Toga's soul that she could take some of Lucy's blood and literally become her so she made damn sure the girl couldn't get her hands on it. She had no clue if Toga would be able to use her magic and didn't want to find out. She hoped she wouldn't later regret the decision for not taking Toga with her.

The feeling of someone watching her gets stronger and Lucy turns into a dark alley to get ready for a confrontation when she runs into someone.

"Oof."

"What the fuck. Watch where you're going." A man with a deep gravelly voice barks.

Lucy roughly pushes the man's chest and places her hands on her hips looking up into the prettiest turquoise eyes she's ever seen, "I didn't run into you on purpose." Her eyes scan the tall pale man with black hair that spikes upward around his head who is standing there with his hands in the pockets of his black jacket and glaring at her. He has on a torn white shirt and black cargo pants being held up by a black studded belt that covers his slim shape and somewhat muscular build. She guesses he's about her age, twenty, twenty-one years old but it's hard to tell. He has gnarled, wrinkled, purple skin that covers part of his lower face and neck down to his collarbone. His lower eyelids are purple as well. From what she can tell, he's being held together by staples. She thinks they're staples, it's hard to tell in the dark. She listens to his soul and hears the angriest soul she's ever heard with despair and sadness mixed in. She catches a glimpse of a white-haired kid being scolded by a tall man with red hair and then the kid is on a hill surrounded by blue flames. She assumes the man must be his father.

"Are you going to stand there and fucking stare at me or are you going to get out of my fucking way?"

Coming back to her senses she gives him an attitude back, "Why have you been stalking me?"

"Listen doll, I don't know what you're talking about. Now, how about you get out of my way."

Lucy throws her arm to the side blocking his way when he tries to push through. "Answer the question." She doesn't back down when he gets in her face.

"Are you deaf? I said I have no idea what you're talking about." He pushes her out of the way. "Who would want to stalk you."

Lucy crosses her arms and leans her side against the building, her back to the grumpy guy, "That's what I would like to know."

Said grumpy guy looks over his shoulder to say one last thing but the symbol on the back of her cloak caught his attention. What he was going to say never comes out instead what he says with a scoff is, "You're the infamous Celeste?" He's heard talk about her from others who have caught sight of her. They, like him, live in the shadows and wouldn't go to the authorities to turn her in.

Lucy turns around to face him, "And what if I am?" All she receives is a shrug. She sighs, "I'm sorry for bumping into you, now if you'll excuse me, I got to-"Lucy's stomach lets out a loud growl cutting her off.

"What the fuck do you have living in there? A bear?"

"Shut up. I haven't eaten since lunch."

"Are you on one of those diets women like to go on?"

"No! I just didn't have time. I could go for a steaming bowl of soba right about now. There's a place that serves it around here." Not sensing he's a danger to her asks, "Would you like to come with me…"

"You're seriously asking a stranger to get something to eat with you and out in public?" He asks astonished. Normally Dabi would have already told the person to fuck off but damn he wasn't expecting Celeste to look the way she does. Blonde hair, tied back in a low ponytail. She wears a white tank top, a rip at the collar exposing the top of her black sports bra which hugs her giant tits. The gap between her tank top and the waistband of her pants shows off a toned abdomen. He has to stop himself from getting a hard-on and showing his reaction to her when he imagines getting a tight grip on those hips as he takes her from behind. Fingerless gloves cover her hands with metal studs on the knuckles, black cargo pants that he wished were as tight as her tank top. He's sure she has a nice ass. She also wears laced-up combat boots. She has taken off her cloak and draped it over her arm. He wants to comment on the whip hanging off of her belt.

"Do you think I'm stupid?" She glares at him because of the look he gives her and continues as she stomps away, "I happen to know someone who won't ask any questions. And, if you don't want to, all you have to say is no thank you."

The guy pulls up his hood and falls into step with her, "I never said anything about not wanting to. Just surprised you asked. I mean I'm a scary dude-" Like hell is he passing this opportunity up.

"Pfft, I've met scarier."

"And if I said I have a fire quirk that could burn you to a crisp?"

"I bet an old friend of mine's fire is much hotter." Lucy isn't too worried, Virgo had taken Lucy's cloak and modified it to survive any elemental attacks.

The guy backs her into the front of a building, one hand resting on it by her head the other hand holding out a blue flame, "You think so, dollface?"

She also doesn't respond to the nickname. It's something she's grown used to. She studies the flame. "It's really pretty, I've never seen blue flames before." It's not as hot as Natsu's but still damn hot. She brings her hand up to it and when her fingertips touch it, she winces.

"Idiot." He's surprised all she did was wince. He's also surprised to hear his flames be called pretty.

Lucy blows on her fingertips, "It's not my first rodeo getting burned, I've built a tolerance to it."

"So?"

"So, what?"

"Is my fire hotter?"

"It's almost as hot as his." They walk in silence for a few beats before he breaks it.

"Aren't you going to ask me my name?"

"Are you going to give it to me?" She blushes at the double entendre, ducks her head to hide the pink on her cheeks, and continues down the street. He follows and whenever there's a hero nearby, they hide in the shadows. They finally arrive at a rundown place and Lucy greets the owner with a nod of her head and takes a seat away from the windows. They place their orders and wait.

Lucy rests her chin on the palm of her hand and looks at her companion for the evening. Very late evening. What she wasn't able to catch earlier was several cartilage piercings in both ears and a triple nostril piercing on the right side of his nose. She was wrong in her observation of him wearing a black jacket, it's actually a dark blue and his shirt is more of a pale gray. She debates on whether or not to listen in on his soul some more and decides against it. If the look in his eyes from earlier are anything to go by she'll hear some perverted thoughts from the guy.

He's about to ask her something but their food arrives. Before they dig in, they clap their hands together, bow their heads, and say, "Thank you for the food." He doesn't remember the last time he's eaten something other than take-out or from a convenience store. He doesn't remember the last time anyone was nice to him. Everyone runs away but not her. What a weirdo.

"What is it with people who wield fire calling me a weirdo? Jeez."

Shit, he didn't mean to say that out loud. Oh well. "So, was that old friend of yours an old boyfriend?"

"No," Lucy answers before slurping up some noodles. Normally she would have better manners but she's so hungry she has no care in the world right now.

A thought occurs to the guy, "So, what do you want in return?"

"Huh? In return for what?"

"The food. There's no way this comes without stipulations."

"Nothing."

"Why did you ask me to come with you then?"

"Because it's the nice thing to do. There aren't a lot of nice people out there and it doesn't hurt to remind people that there are those who care, regardless of who you are."

"And what if I'm one of those monsters you're known for taking down?"

"You're not."

"How do you know that?"

"I just do." When they finish up Lucy pulls out money from the pouch attached to her belt and leaves what's owed as well as a nice tip. Lucy waves to the owner and steps out into the cool air. "Well, this is where we part ways. You have a good night." When she receives no reply, she walks away. Just when she's about to slip into the shadows and travel home the guy speaks.

"The name is Dabi. See ya around, dollface."

She doesn't reply, there's nothing to be said.

There have been grumblings underground about All For One possibly making a return. At the moment it's only rumors but that doesn't stop Jiji from warning Lucy that should All For One find out about her, she'll be in serious danger. She promises him that she'll be careful. She informs him of the person stalking her. He asks if she listened to the man's soul. She has and it's hard to read due to it being a jumbled mess.

Lucy has just saved yet another woman and she can feel the person who has been following her. She makes her way on top of a rooftop and waits for the person to join her.

"Who are you?"

A man who looks a little worse for wear appears before her, "The name is Chizome Akaguro. But you can call me Stain."

Lucy thinks to herself, 'The man sounds like Jellal.' She shakes that thought out of her head, that's not important right now. "What do you want?"

"I've been watching you. Saving those who can't save themselves without wanting the credit, fame, or money for it."

She puts her guard up and keeps an ear on his chaotic soul. "What about it?"

"You're a true hero." Stain pulls out a katana and machete.

"How do you keep finding me, it shouldn't be possible." No matter how much his soul hurts her mind she stays on guard.

"I happen to have a good sense of smell."

"Like a dragon slayer," Lucy says under her breath. She barely dodges the daggers he throws at her, one nicking her cheek, "So, I take it you want to fight?"

"Not really, I don't care for needless bloodshed." He feigns attacking her but what he is really after is the knife that has her blood on it. He licks it off of the blade of his knife leaving her paralyzed. "Type AB blood."

Lucy misses what he was up to and can't move, "What the hell did you do?"

He ignores her question. "I have a lot of respect for other vigilantes, especially those on the same path of fighting for justice."

As he talks about his ideology, Lucy tries to figure out his quirk. It has to do with someone's blood, and he also happens to know what type by tasting it. She's broken out of her thoughts when the sounds of sirens hit her ears.

He hears them too and cuts his talk short, "I better take my leave. A little bit of advice, you might want to start killing them. He's going to get out of jail and pick up where he left off."

Lucy watches him leave and she still can't move. She panics when she hears an officer tell others to search the area for her. Just as one of them reaches the top of the fire escape and another opens the door to the rooftop, she is free from the paralysis and gets the fuck out of there via shadow. She hopes and prays they didn't catch what she looks like.

Lucy saw on the news later that evening that the officers didn't catch what she looked like, but they did catch her cloak and were able to give everyone the description of it including the symbol of Fairy Tail. It's more important than ever she remembers to wear gloves or put make-up on her hand before going out in public

While out and about doing some shopping, she bumps into someone in the crowd on the streets. She loses the grip she has on her bag and her groceries fall to the ground. She grows agitated that no one bothers to stop and help, they continue to walk around her crouched form as she picks up her purchases. A pair of black boots appear in her peripherals and stop next to her. Whoever is the owner squats down to pick up a fallen item.

"Mmm Chicken. That's my favorite."

Lucy looks up at the owner of the voice. The number three hero, Hawks, is next to her holding out her packaged chicken strips. "Thank you," she tells him as she takes it and puts it in her bag. A few red feathers appear in front of her dropping the last of her groceries in a bag. As much as she hates to do it in the day surrounded by a lot of people, she listens to his soul to know if they are actively seeking Celeste out.

"No problem, Chickadee." Hawks says picking up one of her bags. When they're both upright he hands it to her after she's adjusted the other in her arm.

Lucy hasn't been able to interact with the big-time heroes and here's one of the top three helping her out. Hawks has a large set of bright red feathered wings, which is what his quirk, Fierce Wings, granted him.

She admits he's attractive. He's average height with a slim and narrow build. His hair is feathery, ash blond and it's swept messily backward. Some tufts in front stick up in arcs above his head. His eyebrows are thick, seeming to have a similar texture to his hair and he has faint stubble on his chin. His eyes are golden-brown and rather triangular, with two small black triangles just below his tear ducts and in the top corners of his eyes, making them resemble those of a bird.

His hero costume resembles an aviator's uniform; he wears a black shirt with a wavy golden pattern, over which he has a modified tan jacket with a high collar and slits over his shoulders to accommodate his wings; the insides and cuffs of the sleeves are lined with white fur and black gloves. He has a red square-shaped lobe piercing in each ear, although these are rarely visible as he usually wears a pair of yellow ear-protective headphones over them. A rounded, yellow-tinted visor protects his eyes, presumably from UV radiation above the clouds and dirt particles at high speeds.

"I bet you get away with a lot of trouble with that smile."

Lucy gives a little shake of her head, chuckling, "Nice try. You're going to have to do better than that." She hasn't heard anything about Celeste in his soul, just the rounds he has to make and the job he has to do. Well, he's also debating on asking her out not to mention thinking some perverted thoughts about her as well. Best to keep her guard up no matter how much of a headache it is.

Hawks gives her a little fake pout, "Awww, Chickadee."

"I got to get this home, thanks again."

"You're welcome." Hawks walks by her side down the sidewalk.

Turning her head in his direction she asks, "What are you doing?"

"Walking you home."

"Oh, you don't have to do that."

He smiles at her, "What kind of hero would I be if I didn't make sure a pretty woman didn't get home safely?"

"You'd still be a good one Hawks." The man has already started his own agency and he's only nineteen!

"So, you do know who I am."

"Umm yeah? Why wouldn't I?"

Hawks shrugs, "I guess I'm used to everyone fawning over me."

No sooner than he says that he gets bombarded with a bunch of fans. Lucy uses that opportunity to get away. She puts up a hand and waves, continuing on her way, "Bye Hawks!" She hears the annoyance in his soul that she didn't react the same as everyone else. She also hears something else that makes her stop in her tracks. She looks over her shoulder to get a glance at the person who was neglected as a child by his own mother. Not only that but she sold him. His father wasn't all that great either. The beginning of his life is similar to Dabi but instead of choosing the path of villainy like the latter, he chose a path of being a hero.

Hawks catches her staring at him again but this time with a soft smile gracing her face. He has suspicions there's more to her but leaves it be. He doesn't have the time to go chasing after her, even one he may have a slight interest in.

Lucy catches that and lets out a breath of relief. That's the last thing she needs is a hero, especially one of the top ones, seeking her out to get to know. Now that would be a messy complicated relationship. Too bad for him, she doesn't have an interest in the carefree, jovial but also cocky bird and he would have to work hard to get her to.

Lucy sneaks into the room where she hears the hurt soul coming from. She looks at the man who is blocking her view of the woman in the room and is shocked, she thought the other soul sounded familiar. She sees red and with no hesitation, she transforms her arm into a sword and stabs the man in the back with enough force for it to protrude from his chest. She manages to turn the man's body away from the woman before he starts coughing up frothy blood. Having never used Gajeel's iron dragon slaying magic before she can't get the blade out and has to summon Taurus's strength. She braces herself with her left leg and brings her right foot up to push the body as she pulls. Once the sword is dislodged the body falls to the ground with a loud thump. She stumbles back and falls on her ass.

"Fuck. Ow." She exclaims.

"Is-Is h-he dead?" The woman quietly asks.

Lucy stands up rubbing her ass then walks over to the man who isn't moving or breathing, "Y-yeah." Lucy holds back the vomit that wants to come up. She pulls the backpack that she's been carrying around off so she can get out a blanket for the woman. Lucy wraps her up and gets down on the floor so she can console her. "Hey, it's okay."

"What did I say, they always manage to get out of jail, and once they do they go right back to their old ways."

The woman in Lucy's arms jumps at the sound of the masculine voice and whimpers. Lucy soothes her by rubbing her back and saying softly, "It's okay, he's not here to hurt you. He's a… friend. What are you doing here Stain?"

"I wanted to see your reaction when the man you had put away was back out on the streets picking up where he left off. So, I've been stalking him waiting for you to discover him, and hoped it would be the day you broke. Tell me, how did it feel, killing someone?"

"You fucking bastard! I didn't want…"

This time, the woman soothes Lucy, "It-It's okay."

"What?"

"M-Men l-like that d-deserve to die," she sniffles.

Lucy silently agrees, however, it doesn't change the fact that she is the reason one less soul inhabits the world.

"Until next time," Stain says as he takes his leave. Lucy heard in his soul about wanting to kill false heroes and should leave to stop him. She might be able to anticipate his every move but on the off chance he can get her blood… She can't take care of everyone by herself no matter how much she may want to.

Lucy calls the authorities and stays with the woman until the sirens can be heard in the distance. The woman promises to see Fukuzawa and not tell the authorities anything other than Celeste the Dark Slayer took care of the bastard.

Lucy travels a few blocks away and stops on a rooftop to sit on the ledge and look up at the stars. She waits for the adrenaline to wear off and what she did to hit her. Once it does, she brings her face to her knees and sobs into them. She killed someone. She crossed that line and took a life.

As her crying subsides, she hears a familiar voice in between sniffles. She tunes into the man's soul and has to stop because his soul is a chaotic mess, more so than Stain's. The scent of tobacco hits her nose, and she looks down. She spots a person with a brown paper bag over their head looking out over the city.

"What the? He sounds like-" Lucy is startled when the man cranes his neck to look up at her. She can see his eyes narrow behind the paper bag.

"Who are you?/Hey! What's up?" The last question one can see the smile in his eyes.

The man whose voice resembles Gray's sounded so serious at first then became jovial.

"Are you going to answer the question or not lady?/Why are you crying?"

Lucy snaps out of it, "Oh right. I'm sorry. My name is Celeste. Who are you?"

The man takes a drag of his cigarette and after blowing out the smoke says, "Doesn't matter./The name is Jin! Want to tell me about it? Come on in and I'll get you something to drink."

When Lucy cautiously makes her way down the fire escape nearby, he doesn't tell her to go away. She crawls in through the window and enters a messy apartment. She makes her way over to a dilapidated couch and gingerly sits on it.

Jin gets them both a beer and sits down on the couch next to her and doesn't say anything. Instead, he lights up a cigarette and passes it to Lucy. She shakes her head no while scrunching up her nose and he shrugs his shoulders then takes a hit before taking a sip of his beer.

In a quiet voice, Lucy says, "I killed someone." Maybe it's because he sounds like Gray that she can admit that to Jin. Gray had always been like a brother to her and if he were here….

"Why in the hell would you do something like that?/I killed someone too." Jin winces.

"A man was attacking a woman and normally I'm able to keep my cool and just beat the crap out of them before leaving them for the authorities. This time though I snapped and killed him."

"Criminals like that need to be put down./I knew your name sounded familiar!"

A weird friendship was formed that night. He tried stopping himself from telling her about himself, but he failed. His parents passed away while he was in middle school; managed to find a regular job as he grew older. Unfortunately, he got in a motorcycle accident that injured an executive for one of his jobs' clients. Once his boss found out, he was fired on the spot, which kickstarted his life into becoming who he is now.

Loneliness was the center of Jin's snapping. With no relatives, parents, friends, or work colleagues, Jin began to make friends with his clones. The number grew and grew as time passed. This eventually led him to the day that everything changed.

After committing crimes with his clones left and right, one day Jin had each of his clones kill themselves in front of him which made him turn insane.

"It was wrong of others to shun you because of what happened. You didn't intend for it to happen, everyone makes mistakes." She received a big hug for that comment.

Jin introduces her to New Japan Pro-Wrestling and WWE which she takes an interest in. Her favorites are AJ styles, Asuka, and Shinsuke Nakamura. Jin tells her where she can rent old videos, websites she can go to, and channels she can go to watch.

Jin is happy to have a friend. It's been a long time since he's had one. So, imagine the disappointment he feels when she tells him that she has to go and won't be able to spend time with him anymore. When he asks why she tells him it would be selfish of her to get close to someone only to end up hurting them in the end. He doesn't understand how she could hurt him by spending time together and doesn't get a chance to ask because she slips into the shadows and leaves.

It hurt Lucy to do that to Jin and it made her feel like an asshole. Like with Toga, she hopes that decision doesn't come back to bite her in the ass. A few weeks later she contradicts herself and decides to be selfish.

Lucy is stealthily moving through the streets in the shadows, trying to avoid streetlamps, following the soul she hears that wants to pull a woman into an alley and force himself on her. Lucy was relieved the day she got the hang of Cobra's soul-hearing ability. It used to give her such a big headache until she finally managed to learn how to flip it on and off like a light switch, as well as homing in on a singular soul.

She sneaks into an alley when the man looks around at his surroundings making sure no one else is near. Once he continues, she steps back onto the street. She's tried her best to settle down temporarily in this world the past two years, but she wasn't expecting it to be as fucked up as it is. She's crossed some lines she never thought she would cross. She pushes away the memory of her first and only (hopefully) kill. Never in her life did she think she would be able to take away someone's life, no matter how pissed off she was.

When the man decides to make his move, he grabs the woman and drags her into the closest alley. Lucy runs quickly pulling out her fleuve de-toiles and when she reaches the mouth of the alley she wastes no time activating it, sending it out to grab the man's wrist and yank him away from the woman.

"What the hell?" The man grunts and looks for the person who yanked him off of his victim. He narrows his eyes when he spots someone standing there in a cloak, hood up, holding a weird whip. "Who the fuck are you?"

"Your worst fucking nightmare," Lucy growls at the man.

My apologies for the wait, the holiday season gets really busy and hectic. Happy Holiday's, Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year everyone!

I have to admit, it was difficult writing her first meeting with Hawks and Twice. I did my best and sometimes that's all you can do.
