Prologue

The courtroom was silent with anticipation.

After the Battle of Trost, humanity's first victory against the titans, the supreme leader of the military, Premier Zachary, was ready to decide the fate of the young soldier who made the victory possible, Eren Jaeger.

"It is decided." Premier Zachary said after hearing the cases from the Scout Commander, Erwin, who wanted to recruit Eren and the Military Police Commander, Nile, who wanted to kill him.

"Although cadet Eren Jaeger has shown that he is capable of defending humanity with his unique titan powers. No one can deny that Trost would have fallen without him." Zachary looked down at Eren. The young boy was tied to a wooden post in the middle of the courtroom. His face was battered and bloody after the vicious beating the Scout Captain Levi gave him.

"However, during the battle, Eren showed next to no control of this power, as seen by Cadet Ackermans injuries." He looked at Mikasa's scared face, from when Eren went ballistic in his titan form.

"What if he were to lose control inside of Wall Rose again? Or what if he never regained control in Trost? All of those brave soldiers' deaths would have been for nothing. Therefore, Eren Jaeger will be given to the custody of the Military Police, for dissection and study."

"No!" Mikasa, Erens adoptive sister yelled from the stands. "You can't, he saved us, we'd all be dead if it wasn't for him!"

"Stay where you are, cadet!" An MP pointed his musket at her.

Armins grabbed her by the arm and tried to force her back to her seat. "Calm down, Mikasa there's nothing you can do now!"

The Scout commander Erwin was disappointed, but not surprised with the outcome, they knew it was unlikely they would take their side on this.

Eren sat there in disbelief and fear. He was going to die in the capital. He would never see the outside world or kill the Titans, he'd never see his hometown again, or talk to his friends again, he'd never see the sea. It was something he couldn't accept.

His mind began to race, he had to think of a way to convince them still, anything, but before he uttered a word, he felt a sharp jab in his neck and the world quickly became blurry and his body went limp.
