Take Over magic, was peculiar.

The more Brody used it, the more creatures he took over, the greater his innate understanding of it became.

For example, why did Take Over magic enhance his physical abilities when assuming other forms, but not the volume of his magic power? Especially since, outside of Rog, he only gained a fraction of the magic power of beasts he subsumed.

Where did the rest go?

The true answer was, it did enhance the magic power of the user. It just did not add the volume of the creature taken overs magic to his own when he assumed their form.

What it did, was enhance the the density, the potency of his magic power. In a way, it was like, when he assumed the form of a taken over beast, his magic became layered, and he got more bang for his buck.

At the same time though, because it enhanced the sheer potency of his magic, it cost all the more to use.

That was why he could not assume the full form of the green wyvern he took over for very long.

As the full on wyvern, his scales were even more resistant than what its own was, because it was practically double layered.

Also a passive magical ability, much like taking in Ethernano from the world around him to refill his magic reserves. So he could not turn it off.

'Which is why, I should finish this fast.' he thought as he tore into the air after his target.

His target? A massive white scaled, winged beast, only slightly smaller than the green wyvern he'd felled just over a week ago now.

Far more wily than the beast he'd fought could hope to be though.

In the form he was in right now, Brody was larger, he was stronger, he was more durable and he was faster than it. And to add the cherry on top, he was more capable in physical movement. Where as, its arms were wings and it hunched slightly, he was completely bipedal and his wings were on his back.

His green wyvern form, was more akin to a small dragon in the looks department.

Ahead of him as they tore up through the air along the mountainside, the Blizzardvern he'd caught sight of mid-hunt and chased down, swiped one of its wide wings out, slashing it through the snow at the side of the mountain, before pushing out and with a beat of its massive wings picking up speed and ascending higher.

At the same time, just as it did, an avalanche of snow rumbled and fell in a wave of hail down towards him.

Clicking his tongue within his currently massive scaled maw, Brody shut his mouth and brought his arms up to guard his face and eyes, before shooting up through it, his vision blurring as he tore up and through it within just a few moments.

As he did though and burst out of the top, a second flash of white appeared in his vision, accompanied by a roaring maw.

The Blizzardvern had turned around as soon as his eyes were off of it, and attacked.

It smashed into him like a cannonball and he almost had the wind knocked out of him as he was ploughed into the mountain side by its immense bulk and pinned beneath it.

A taloned foot pinned his jaw, while the other smashed down on his chest and kept him weighed down by its weigh in strength as it lunged down, preparing to tear his scaled throat out with its teeth.

If he were a normal green wyvern, this would probably have been the end for him.

Just before its teeth sank into his neck, his hands shot up, grabbing its jaw from either end and stopping it in its tracks.

And then he pulled, twisting his hands in opposite directions and rolled. A nauseating crunch sound erupted from its jaw bone and a snarling howl tore from its maw as he reversed their positions and straddled its torso, the hand on its now broken lower jaw coming down to wrap around its throat and squeeze, while with the other…

He began laying a heavy bevy of rapid boulder crushing punches straight into its skull with all his strength.

It snarled, roared, howl and thrashed with all its might against him literally both choking and beating it to death.

The resemblance these creatures had to dragons, the strongest race of beings in existence of this world, was not just for show.

That was why, he lifted his spiked tail up into the air while he had it stunned and pinned with the attacks from his hands.

And brought it down with all the strength and speed he could muster out of sight, hidden by his own bulk.

The Blizzardvern froze, eyes going wide and a shuddering breath escaping its maw, as his tail spike pierced through its chest and heart.

It snarled at him, continued to thrash and fight against him, but bit by bit, the light in its eyes dimmed and it fell limp beneath him.

Brody stared at it for a moment, making sure it was dead, before releasing his magic. Light shimmered around his huge scaled body, before his scales receded and he shrunk down, returning to human form sitting atop the blizzardvern's body.

Despite the intense cold temperature around him, sweat trailed his cheeks as he panted deeply.

'Just over a minute and I feel like I'm about to keel over.' he thought with a grimace.

The blizzardvern was a great test of his maximum strength. As he thought, beyond it taking him by surprise with its guile, in a full on physical confrontation, he'd manhandled it.

But also just as he thought, it wasn't something he could use right now casually and was pretty much going to be his last resort in a fight.

He took a minute to regain his breath, before placing his hand on the snout of the massive white scaled beast beneath him, "Take Over." he incanted, directing his magic into it.

As his magic subsumed its body and he absorbed the beast within himself, he couldn't help but think, that it was no wonder Mirajane Strauss stayed in her Take Over forms long, unlike her siblings, she actively used powerful magic in this forms.

He could only imagine how monstrous her magic reserves had to be to transform into forms that powerful while using such powerful magic at the same time.

After taking over the Blizzardvern, he felt energy return to him as his body was empowered by its own strength being partially added to his own and landed on his feet in the snow as the body disappeared.

"That was lucky." he mused to himself. A day had passed since he'd set out now, and he'd more or less covered most of the mountain range of Mount Hakobe and was nearing the end.

It looked like, by his estimates, there was only a single Blizzardvern living in the mountain range. Which, was disappointing, but oh well.

Well, it was fine, while strengthening his wyvern form was all well and good, the stronger it got, the harder it got to maintain anyway, so it was good and bad he supposed.

And he was satisfied with just the one for now anyway, there would be more to find in the future he was sure.

"Well, no point really sticking around and going slow anymore." Brody mused. He'd only been traversing the mountain range on foot, because he was looking for a blizzardvern.

Now that he'd found one and taken it over, there wasn't really any point in going so slow.

With that thought in mind, he pulled on his magic, "Beast Soul: Wyvern!" he declared. In a shimmer of light, green scaled wings erupted from his back, he didn't even bring forth the tail, only the wings to keep the magic expenditure to a minimum.

He jumped and with a powerful flap of his wings, ascended high into the air and flew off, heading in the direction of his destination.

While he couldn't hold even the partial form for too long, his time had increased a decent bit since he first set off from Onibus Town after he took over all those mountain vulcans and not to mention the blizzardvern.

He surprisingly hadn't hit his limit yet on vulcans, and he'd taken over a total of fifty three between the forest vulcan gorians and the mountain vulcans.

Still, while increased, his time was very limited regardless.

But despite that, flying, and especially at the speed he could fly at, meant he could cover a lot of ground before he had to rest.

Within minutes he'd cleared the last of the Mount Hakobe mountain range, and found himself flying over a wide expansive area that ranged from long plains of grass, to craggy canyons and huge forests.

"Hmm?" Brody blinked as he looked down upon hearing a commotion and there below him, noticed something odd.

It was a large herd of pig…creatures. Well, a pig was as close he could reference them to. They looked like pigs, but their skin was brown and spotted, and they were huge.

Easily twenty feet tall in size. But unlike normal pigs, had long, floppy rabbit like ears and mouths filled with razor sharp teeth belonging to a carnivore.

'Hodras, I think?' Brody thought. While he'd read quite a few books on the local fauna, he hadn't been all that too interested in the prey animals.

And despite their huge size and appearance-

They were prey out here.

And he could see why. Because behind the pack of huge spotted pigs, was a pack of dinosaurs.

A bit bigger than the pigs with their bipedal bodies, they resembled a tyrannosaurus rex. If a tyrannosaurus rex had longer arms and legs like a velociraptor while keeping all the bulk and strength of a t-rex in them.

Raptor Rex's they were called, those he had paid special attention to, and had actually hoped to run into at least one.

Though he'd expected a few since they formed hunting packs according to the books he read.

Still, when one looked down upon them and saw the fact that the pack of Hodras numbered in the twenties, twenty three actually by Brody's count, in comparison to the pack of four Raptor Rex's, one would wonder why they were the ones fleeing.

With their huge bulk and obvious weight advantage over them, not to mention their massive numbers advantage, the Hodras should just turn around and crush them in a stampede.

But, in this world, the physical and number advantage alone, did not determine everything. Because some people and some creatures, were more special than others.

'Case in point.' Brody thought, watching with interest as the Rex Raptor leading the charge opened its mouth, flames swirling into existence within its throat, before it exhaled and spat out a large stream of flame.

The stream of flames slammed into one of the huge pigs and lit it up. It topped, crashing into the ground with a squeal of pain as it was consumed by flames.

Its crashing into the ground, threw much of the herd of huge pigs off balance, bringing many down with it, while the rest slowed a bit in an effort to avoid the tumble.

And that was when the other members of the raptor pack jumped into action, fanning out around the lead one and joining it in firing large streams of powerful flame from their maws, aiming for the ones upfront that avoided the fall and lighting them up as well.

They were like a well oiled machine as they systematically roasted each and every single giant brown spotted pig alive.

The shrieked were deafening and Brody actually found himself looking a way a bit. It was that brutal.

'I better get used to it though.' he told himself, forcing his eyes to turn down to the spectacle below him.

This world, was not as peaceful as his own was.

He waited and watched right up until every giant pig fell silent as they died to the flames roasting them alive.

And only when the Rex Raptor pack moved in to chow down on their well deserved meal, did he move.

He dropped down from the sky like an anvil, coming down with both feet extended and crashed feet first into the skull of one of the huge dinosaurs.

Its skull caved in from the force of his drop, its body crashing into the ground and going limp.

Dead.

The reaction of the others were instantaneous. They instantly turned to him and their first instinct.

Was to attack.

A trio of large streams of fire erupted towards him from multiple sides, they didn't waste even a second.

The heat seared his skin without even reaching him. That was how hot the flames were.

With a flap of his wings, he shot up above them though and easily dodged, before shooting through the air towards another and smashing his fist into its snout, clamping its mouth shut and cutting off the flames it was spewing.

Before thrusting his hand out in a knife blow, straight through its eye and into its brain, killing it instantly.

As big as they were, and with access to fire magic.

They weren't on the level of the green wyvern.

Kicking off of the snout of the beast as it toppled backwards and crashed into the ground, Brody flipped backwards through the air and then spun around, shooting himself towards another with a powerful flap of his wings.

Before it could full turn to face him, he was upon it, wrapping his arms around its throat and dragging it to down with him as he continued with his spin.

And broke its neck.

Leaving only one.

With a roar, it stomped towards him at a swift spring, large, powerful legs thundering powerfully against the ground.

It was fast.

Faster than something its size had any right to be to be honest. And it was upon him in near the blink of an eye, massive mouth coming down to snap him up whole with razor sharp teeth.

Too bad for it though, he was much faster right now.

Before it could reach him, he lashed out with a thrust kick that caught it in the throat. It gagged in pain and buckled backwards, stumbling back a few steps and struggling to breathe, hacking and coughing, shaking its head.

"…This could be a good time to test it out." he mused, hand going to his pocket and retrieving a familiar gleaming silver key, "Open: Gate Of The Canis Minor!" he declared, feeding his magic into the key.

There was a flash of light, and then a very familiar little cute blue spirit popped into existence in front of him.

"Balooo!" Blue cheered upon being summoned, before blinking as he saw his surroundings and looking around at the variety of huge corpses, "Baloo..?" he looked back at Brody in askance.

"Hey buddy," Brody greeted him with a casual wave and grin, "How about we try out that battle form of yours with this guy? Think you can take him?"

While he'd been recovering, that didn't mean he still couldn't help out Blue, and before facing the green wyvern, he'd more or less finished the form for Blue, all that remained was seeing if he could take the form.

And after a few days, he could.

And he was pretty damn strong in that form, easily a match for one of those Gorian's by his estimates, if not stronger. But, how strong was he really?

This would be a good chance to check Brody thought.

Blue blinked and turned around to look at the Raptor Rex, tilting his head up and up and up to look at the beast that towered massively above him.

"Baloo." Blue shrugged his little shoulders, before closing his eyes. A puff of smoke erupted from around his form, before the smoke was split by a howl and gleaming drills.

A massive black and blue furred wolf now stood in Blue's place, gleaming drills adorning his body and blades jutting from various parts of his body, razor sharp teeth poking from his lips and claws that could tear through stone erupting proudly from his paws.

He looked, utterly badass. It was as if he'd summoned a dark enhanced Dorulumon to fight for him.

As the transformation finished, and Blue revealed his battle form, the Raptor Rex regained its breath and bearings.

And was not intimidated at all, as it roared angrily, threateningly at Blue. It did after all, have a good ten feet, and a bit more on him.

And no doubt, had a lot more battle experience than Blue. This was pretty much, his first fight beyond him getting used to the form over the last few days before they left Onibus Town behind.

With a roar, the dinosaur thundered towards Blue, flames pooling in its mouth as it did and fired off a gout of flame towards Blue.

With a growl, Blue jumped to the side narrowly avoiding it, letting the flames splash into the ground and set the grass alight.

It wasn't done though, it moved as it fired the flames and got in close, spinning and lashing out with a massive, thickly muscled scaled tail and aiming to slam Blue and crush his bones with it.

Blue however, was faster.

Quite a bit faster actually.

He nimbly ducked under the tail strike and got behind the huge and powerful fire breathing dinosaur. As he did, the drill atop his forehead, usually his nose, whirled rapidly into life and he jumped thrusting the spiralling horn into the beasts back.

And piercing straight through its scale, into its spine and drilling through the bone. Blood flew, splashing over Blue's currently furry blue and black face while the Raptor Rex shrieked in agony, before its body went limp.

When it did, Blue blinked and pull his horn out and stepped back, allowing the huge dinosaur to topple to the ground, body limp, breath shallow and eyes glassy.

'He paralyzed it.' Brody blinked, 'Note to self, drill horns to the spine, are not fun.'

…He'd really only picked that form because Blue knew how to spin his drill nose and thought he could apply it to other drills formed on his body. He hadn't really thought of the true implications of it.

Brutal, but awesome.

Blue turned towards him then, "Balooo!" a cheerful howl erupted from his fanged maw and he bounded over to jump onto Brody.

Not taking into account his current massive size and slamming him into the ground.

Brody laughed it off though, even as the air was almost driven from his lungs from the sheer size and weight of him and reached up to pat him on the head, "Good job buddy, that was amazing!" he praised the spirit.

"Baloo baloo!" he howled excitedly and happily.

A puff of smoke erupted from around his form and he returned to normal then, landing on Brody's chest with a confused blink, "Baloo…?" his head tilted to the side and he pouted.

"Don't worry, you'll get there, just need to work on your magic more." Brody continued petting his now much smaller head and consoled the little spirit.

That was the biggest issue with his Battle Form. Blue could only hold it for around thirty seconds at most right now.

That, and it took a lot of concentration, so when he got overly excited, he could end up undoing it by mistake.

Standing up and setting Blue on his shoulder, Brody took a look around at the assembled corpses.

Four huge Raptor Rex's, and of course, the twenty three giant roasted pig corpses. Well, one of them was still alive…for now.

Hodras belonged to the animal soul category of Take Over magic. But, eh, while they were right there in front of him, it would almost be a waste not to grab them up.

'First though.' Brody turned his attention to the bodies of the Raptor Rex's and made his way over to the one still barely clinging to live.

He'd go with it first and put it out of its misery.

He placed his hand atop its snout, "Take Over." he declared, light erupting from his palm and suffusing the giant fire breathing dinosaurs body.

In moments it was gone, barely even putting up a fight at all as he crushed it mentally right after and forced it to submit.

It got easier with every single one.

Later, after taking over the corpses that littered the area, Brody with Blue on his shoulder, decided to take to the skies once more.

Dusk fell, and before long, the sky turned to the dark of night as he continued on his journey, taking breaks every little while to rest and regain some of his magic power.

Before having to stop for the night and sleep. And then the next morning, after he got up, he was off again, travelling on foot and flying through the air as he went.

'It's a real pain in the ass though.' he mused to himself as he flew, once again, the sky having turned dark as night once more, 'If I didn't need to keep stopping to rest and recharge, I could have probably made it here on the first day.'

…well, he would have probably gotten even further, if it wasn't for the fact that, like a kid in a candy store.

He'd played about with the newest ability he'd gained from the Raptor Rex's. Fire Magic.

He was officially capable of using actual offensive magic now and not a summoning or transforming one!

'…Well I can breathe it at least.' he chuckled to himself sheepishly. Well, he could generate it, but he had no training with it right now. The best he could do, was use it in the same instinctive way the Raptor Rex's could. Since he took them over, he knew how to use their abilities the same way they did.

But that was the best they knew how to use their fire magic. So, learning new spells from it, would be a learning or creating process for him.

But hey, who cared, he could breathe fire. He was a real knock off dragon now!

Granted, it was no Fire Dragon's Roar, but it was still badass. Besides, if Laxus Dreyar was anything to go by, it was less draining to use normal elemental magic over a dragon slayer element, so would still be good to learn regardless to use for magic saving purposes.

Speaking of fire magic though…

As Brody ascended past a vast hill, his eyes widened as he found himself staring into the distance and seeing a huge, burning bonfire in the distance, illuminating a village of titanic buildings.

"The Sun Village!" Brody gasped, before a wide smile spread across his face. Finally, finally, finally!

He'd arrived.

With a flap of his wings, he picked up the pace and raced towards his destination, a corona of wind forming around his body and his ears popping from the sheer speed he accelerated at.

Within moments, he was within the range of the town and caught sight of multiple massive individuals, each easily fifty feet tall going about their lives in the village.

The giant race and those who worshipped the Eternal Flame.

Otherwise known as Atlas Flame, the Hellfire Dragon.

Instead of racing right in though, Brody touched down on a large hill overlooking the village and sat down, dispelling his partial Wyvern form, his wings disappearing in motes of light.

He'd had plenty of time to think how he'd approach this, and he didn't want to do it while the giants could take notice.

"…So I'll have to wait till they're all asleep." he said to himself, crossing his legs and preparing to wait, "In the meantime, I guess can read." he mused, holding his hand out and summoning one of his books from his Requip space.

He opened the book to the last page he'd left on, and didn't bother with pulling out his Gale Force Reading Glasses as well, it would just be a casual read to pass the time until he could make his move.

And we're back I guess with chapter 6, yay, I guess?

Honestly, not really got the motivation to go into a breakdown of this or anything like I usually do. Peeps who saw what I posted on Onwards yesterday I think or the day before, will probably understand why. But yeah, I'm gonna post a few updates today, then probably won't be posting anything for a few weeks except on my Pa-atreon. I need to get a backlog for there done anyway.

Don't feel pressured to join my Pa-atreon cuz of that though, eventually all the shit will come up here regardless at some point.

Anyway, shameless Pa-atreon plug. I've got one, go by the same username on there, easy to find and all that jazz. Support me if you want, it'd be swell, but don't feel pressured lads and ladies, I'll be uploading my stuff outside it regardless and not keeping it all behind a paywall or anything like that.
