Chapter 12- Amy
Philip's POV
Your sister arrives, and your spirits instantly lift. I love seeing you two together. I wish I had this type of relationship with my brother, Brian.
You stay up late watching girly movies and eating popcorn. You two look at bridal magazines together, go to a wedding cake tasting, and meet with the wedding planner. I surprise you two with Taylor Swift concert tickets. It's a win for me, because Penny really wanted to go. I really didn't want to.
The three of you have a blast. This is the happiest I have seen you since Michonne died.
After the concert you fall asleep, but Amy is still awake. Amy looks so much like her sister. But different at the same time. We both are still awake after Penny and Andrea fall asleep.
"I am really glad Andrea has you and Penny," Amy says, seeing me in the kitchen to grab something to drink. She pours a glass of milk. I offer her a chocolate chip cookie, which she takes.
"That is really sweet of you to say. I know your dad thinks she would be better off with Shane," I said, knowing getting close to Amy would only benefit me.
"Well, dad wasn't there after Andrea had the abortion. I have never seen my sister so broken. Shane often saw other women, too. I don't think he is a bad person. But he isn't the right guy for my sister. You really support her and give her everything. I honestly think your relationship is like a fairytale. I am team Philip all the way," she reassures me.
"You'll make sure Andrea knows that you think that, right?"
"I already have. You have nothing to be worry about. She loves you and Penny. You need to ask her to marry you already. I mean, we're already planning the wedding," she says, taking a bite of the cookie.
"I am planning on proposing in New York when we go in May. Though my dad owes a private jet and I could honestly take her whenever," I said, grabbing a cookie for myself.
"You should propose at the Empire state building. Sleepless in Seattle is one of Andrea's favorite movies. We went to New York a couple of years ago with my parents. She insisted we go there. And she wouldn't stop talking about that movie. She was all about Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks. We could set it up for tomorrow. I could go with you and help. As a talented photographer, I can take pictures of your proposal and help with other details," Amy offers.
"You just want another trip to New York," I said, teasing her.
She smiles, tossing her straight blonde hair, moving closer to me.
"Well, I want to live in New York so you aren't wrong, but I think officially proposing would make sense since she has started wedding planning already.," Amy says, planting the idea in my head.
"You are right. I bought the ring a month ago at Tiffany's. I'll show you," I said, going to get the ring out the safe. She stares at the oval emerald platinum ring with diamonds around the center.
"Wow, Andrea will love this ring. I bet it set you back several thousands dollars," she says staring inside the box.
"Was around a million dollars. But if we are going to New York, you better get to bed," I said, knowing I had to be careful about being alone with my girlfriend's sister..
Her dad already hated me, and I didn't want to do anything that would make me look bad. I knew Amy was a young girl and I shouldn't be alone with her.
"Goodnight Philip," Amy says excitedly about our plans to surprise Andrea. As she left the kitchen, I watched. I then book the proposal package for the Empire state building, book the jet, put the engagement ring back in safe and go to bed feeling nervous. I shouldn't feel nervous. You are already planning the wedding. I close my eyes, wrapping my arms around her.
"Goodnight, sweet Andrea," I whispered into her ears. I finally fell asleep, ready to put the ring on her finger tomorrow.
